Great atmosphere. Mediocre food. Terrible service. I sat myself and put my order in just a few minutes after the gentleman at the next table. He was signing his receipt before my meal came, no apology or explanation for delay. It took over 50 minutes to get the one meal I ordered. I was completely overlooked in all aspects of the service, water refill included. My meal was one of those slow cooked ready-hours-before-its-ordered meats that you just need to plate. Which, by the way, really skeeved me out -- theyre serving meat directly on porous wood cutting boards ... not even remotely sanitary. Eek.

A trendy bar that serves its version of Mexican food. First 2 pages of the menu are Alcoholic drinks. Got there too late for the menudo, and no lunch option was available. Got the Huevos Rancheros Xmas. Which I had to explain to the waiter what it meant. (Half red half green). The green was fresh jalapeño with some kind of cream sauce, and the red was a rajas con queso( a stew of cooked jalapeños onion tomatoes and cheese) not what I considered red or green. Regardless the food was good. Just not what I was expecting. Service was a little slow but this place does fill up even for a small place. So it s understandable. If you are looking for something different and good, it s Barrio. As for us we ll skip this place next time.

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Barrio Eats and Drinks and it was an experience to remember. From the moment I arrived, the service felt incredibly personal. The staff greeted me warmly and took the time to make recommendations tailored to my tastes, which set the tone for the evening. Now, lets talk about the steak. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and bursting with flavor. Each bite melted in my mouth, showcasing the chefs skill and attention to detail. Accompanied by expertly chosen sides, it was a meal that truly satisfied. The atmosphere was equally noteworthy. With a nostalgic vibe, the restaurant transported me back in time. The tasteful decor and soft lighting created an inviting and cozy environment, making it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Overall, my experience at Barrio Eats and Drinks was exceptional. With personal service, a perfectly cooked steak, and a charming atmosphere, I cant wait to return for another delightful meal. Highly recommended!

Parking: Parking lot at corner of Oregon @ Franklin, easy in and out $10-15 fee. Also a parking garage next to parking lot and street parking too.

Food wasnt bad, it was tasty. However, our server was not very attentive. We had to keep getting up to find our server and ask for condiments because he wouldnt come back to our table. Nor did he ask when bringing the food if we could use anything else. I asked for French toast with my meal instead of pancakes and they brought me toast. Drinks were pretty good and the atmosphere was friendly.

I came for sunday brunch. It was packed from the entrance with many people waiting to get a table. I had the Barbacoa and it didnt disappoint. It was delicious and juicy. It came with c orn tortillas, beans, onions, cilantro, and Chile de arbol sauce. It was delicious. Mimosas were flying out of the bar, it seems to be the most popular drink for Sunday brunch. Highly recommended.

This perhaps was the worst meal I have ever had. The chicken milanesa was absolutely abysmal. This was not a milanesa at all it was so dry I could not cut thru it. My wife had chicken suiza enchiladas and the chicken was also dry. The rice needed a little bit more time to cook. Although the flavor was good it needed more time on the stove. This is what I experienced and it had not to do with our server who was great by the way. I would like to reiterate that maybe the cook was off but still not an excuse.

I was in El Paso for work, and after a long day of facilitating presentations, I was in the mood for some good Mexican food. Also, it had to be on the way to the hotel. We found Barrio, the menu looked good, and it was on the way to the DoubleTree. The first thing that caught my attention was the water carafe. They were all different and made the table look classy. The Barbacoa caught my attention. In California, it is challenging to find Barbacoa Norteña. The plate is served with rice, beans, tortillas, onions, cilantro, and delicious salsa. I also ordered a cup of Sopa de Fideo. You would think that after all that food I would be full, but wrong! I had enough room for dessert. We ordered Churros with strawberry and pecan ice cream and pecan pieces. DELICIOUS! It was so wonderful that I went back the next day and ordered the same thing. My friend ordered the Mole, which I tried, and it was so yummy! This is another place to return to on my next trip to El Paso!

I had a good time at this place with some friends. I tried the chicken and biscuits, which were crispy and juicy, but the biscuits were too dry and the chicken was sandwiched between them. It was okay, but not filling enough. My friends ordered the breakfast Barbacoa, which was delicious and well-spiced, and the shrimp tacos, which were awful. They looked and tasted like leftovers, with no sauce or seasoning. The queso fundido with chorizo was the best part of the meal, and I would order it again. The place has a nice atmosphere, but the food is hit or miss.

At first I was excited to try this place. But after waiting an hour and a half for the bartender/server to take our order, it was downhill from there. I had to ask at least 3 times if anyone was going to come take our order and felt brushed off each time. Granted it was a rather large party, for a friends birthday, the staff was very ill prepared for our visit even though reservations had been made weeks in advance. Our bill was outrageous and they placed gratuity on each of our checks which is understandable. But FORCING people to pay 30% gratuity when the service was absolutely horrible, is ridiculous. Will definitely NOT be going here again. I could get better service at a taco truck and buy my own bottle of tequila for way less than what we were charged.

A Gem in Downtown El Paso for Authentic Mexican Cuisine I recently had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem in downtown El Paso, and it exceeded all expectations. The enchiladas suizas were a standout, showcasing the restaurants commitment to excellent, authentic Mexican flavors. The service was not only friendly but also highly professional, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. In an area of town where dining options often fall on the extremes of the price spectrum, this restaurant offers a perfect balance affordable yet delivering top-notch, home-style Mexican dishes. Its a haven for those seeking genuine local cuisine without breaking the bank. What sets this place apart is not only the fantastic food but also the well-curated beer list. Its a refreshing addition that complements the culinary delights. Whether youre a visitor exploring El Paso or a local with a discerning palate, this spot is a must-try. The warm hospitality and dedication to authentic flavors make it a standout choice. Highly recommended!

I visited Barrio Eats & Drinks because it was close to my hotel and I wasnt at all disappointed. It was a little hard to find if youre using google maps, I was on the wrong side of the building and confused for a minute, and then when I found it, I realized there are three trees out front blocked their sign. Once inside, I thought that it was a pretty cute place, but I only have it 4 stars because it still felt a little oddly laid out. Theres extra space that could be filled and it felt a bit industrial still, which I dont think the vibe is. However, the seating was comfortable and it was cute. The staff was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent customer service. Now the food.. Chefs kiss. I ordered the steak fajitas and literally everything, the meat, veggies, rice, beans, and tortillas were all exactly what Id expect. They were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and delicious. They also had a great beer and cocktail menu. The only complaint I had about the food was they served chips and salsa upon arrival and the salsa about took me out! It was sooo hot. My eyes started watering, my nose was running and I just couldnt eat it. Id definitely recommend this place and visit again if Im ever back in downtown El Paso.

TLDR; I spent $74 just to leave annoyed. The food and drinks are delicious, if overpriced, (but so is everything else downtown) and service is terrible. Our server didnt introduce themselves, just kind of Hi, what can I get you? We ordered 2 drinks, they got there quick enough, and my boyfriend got his flautas not long after. I, however, spent nearly 20 minutes waiting for my enchiladas. The runner who brought my boyfriends food offered no update on my plate, no silverware or new drinks. Just dropped his plate, said Enjoy and left. I had to get up and ask another server for silverware, and the party of 3 behind us got their food right away even though they arrived way after us. Our server finally brought my food with a lukewarm apology and a mumbled excuse about him having the kitchen remake it (cool?). He asked if we needed anything else before leaving. I noticed he was extremely attentive to the party of 10, though, while another server kind of just stood around and watched him struggle. I also didnt see a manager around, which is weird for a Friday night at a restaurant downtown, during a ball game. They should have anticipated to be packed (even though they werent) and had a manager there to help take care of customers. That probably would have made a huge difference in our experience.

The red enchiladas with chicken were on par. But I dont know what they did to make their beens jump off that plate and into my mouth. Yes, the beans are amazing! The cafe de hoya was just as amazing. Service was a bit slow, but thats expected when so many people come to your establishment.

This was one of our favorite places, but we were so disappointed yesterday. The atmosphere didnt feel the same, and the food wasnt what we had expected, it sure wasnt worth $200!! Its sad that another place in El Paso has gone down the drain.

Met up with my son on a Tuesday evening at about 8pm. Parking was abysmal due to a Chihuahuas game that night. Average looking restaurant when walking in, not greeted at all by a server or employee within 15 mins of arriving, although one employee was in line-of-sight, sitting in the bar area. He stayed put until a trio of friends or regulars came in about 10 mins after me and they were promptly greeted enthusiastically. I finally walked to the bar area to order my stuff and the bartender(really pleasant guy) came to the table to take our order and ended up being our server. The chips and salsa was weird; the salsa was just chopped roasted Anaheim chiles, nothing more. The chips were a mixture of half really good totopos and half undercooked chewy totopos. Ordered the chips and queso and the chips were actually better than the ones served initially...the queso was good but had very little kick so we just threw the salsa into the cheese...and that was delicious. Also ordered the chicken chicharrones, which were interesting(fried chicken skin and chicken pieces served with Buffalo sauce). The day after, both my son and I had GI upset, which was surprising given how clean the kitchen was. Maybe something just didnt agree with us. Overall, I was unimpressed with the service and food in relation to the price we paid. I will likely not return.

Had brunch there and will definitely be back again. Food was delicious. Probably best chilaquiles I ve had in El Paso. Coffee was very good and could tell it was a special blend. I also loved that they bring a complimentary assortment of pastries to table for brunch. Very cute and convenient location. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

We went there to have some brunch and they had bottomless mimosas but more like 5x$15 which was mooore than enough for me. I got the enchiladas suizas con pollo y huevito. I liked them and they serve you a lot. Also, the service was very attentive and explain everything, as they offer also buffet! The sazon is good, I would definitely come back as it is super flavory.

Horrible service and management. We went for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. Google and signage states they are open at 8 on Saturdays. We waited patiently at door until 8:15 when waiter let us in, but he stated kitchen wouldnt open for another 15 minutes. Then why state you are open at 8? We were the only customers yet music was blaring loud like a nightclub. Asked if he could turn down the volume, he never did. Food was ok. After we ate we went to find the disappearing waiter to ask him for check. Took him 15 minutes to bring it. Never going back for this rudeness and mediocre food. They need to put correct hours , lower the music, and train waiter how to treat customers.

Let me start by saying how great it is to have a restaurant open downtown on the weekends! We stopped in on a Saturday for brunch, our first time here. The food was great. The service was a little slow after we were seated, but our waiter was great and professional. He explained all the items on the brunch buffet, answered all our questions, and was very helpful. We skipped the buffet and ordered from the menu. We ordered the chilequeles and the chicken biscuits. Both were wonderful. The red chile was perfect! Our only complaint was we were sat right in front of the DJ, so it was very loud, but this will not keep us from coming back for the delicious food!

I love this place!! Barrios has an amazing experience you can t pass up! The shrimp cocktail is the best Ive had in El Paso, the salsa and other dishes were also beyond impressive. The atmosphere is great, and the service was top-notch - from the bartenders, waitresses, even the owner made sure everything was perfect without overdoing it. Whether youre looking for a filling lunch, date night, or just a great drink and meal, I highly recommend giving Barrios a visit. You wont regret it!
