Nice place, a bit noisy not really fine dinning. Service starts out fast then slows a bit. French bread was hard as a rock, not impressed. Some of the dinner was cold due to slow delivery to the table. The price is a bit pricey for what you get. But overall its ok. If I return to this place Ill make sure they are told hot food please. Update: After the review was published, I was able to talk to the general manager who invited us back to make it better. So we went back. The second time around was much better, the food was hot and fresh. The service was much better, a long with the presentation. The price is a bit high for what you get but they make up for it with the presentation upstairs dining. Downstairs is like a pub.

First time going there. Great if you want to take your lady to a nice brunch. Staff was super nice and courteous. Definitely will be going back. The chillaquilles were good. The staff gave my girlfriend a complimentary dessert for her birthday. Overall, great experience with beautiful views of downtown.

I ate Wild Mushrooms Stroganoff which was really delicious. Everything we are was delicious as well. Arrived at 11am for our reservation of 6 (4 adults/2 toddlers) on a Sunday for brunch. We were the only people at the restaurant at the time of arrival and order, yet somehow we got our food (cold by this time) after 2 other reservations. Our appetizer (mussels and fries) arrived in a timely manner but the fries were cold/crunchy. The 3 omelette plates were too salty due to the mushrooms, my steak (ordered medium-steak and eggs) was cold and tough to cut, and the only plate for my toddlers (pancakes) arrived well after our plates had arrived. Expected a better all around experience for a $200+bill. I did appreciate the nice gesture with the birthday card and free dessert but that was the only positive takeaway from our reservation.

I ve had dinner here before and my experience was great then I d say a 4 overall (except the waiters were 5 s), then I took my friend out to lunch here for her birthday and it was a completely different experience. Our waiter Leslie was either overwhelmed or just having a bad day but she was rude throughout the meal, once we got our food and everything was cold so didn t even eat much. I wouldn t recommend this for a lunch. I m adding this on 8/22 to just update my review, I did email owner back immediately after he replied to my review, I was quite impressed up until day because it s been over a month with no response so my review stands

The restaurant had a nice ambience, however it was dusty and could use a good wipe down. Servers were very busy but the restaurant wasnt. The food tasted decent but lacked the wow factor. It had you in like but still wanting something just a little different. Hard to explain. The tiramisu is full of coconut and more of a cream pie, but still very delicious if your up for coconut flakes. The tacos are more cabbage then anything and very salty soy maybe. We had a fish meal but they over cooked the fish, sad bc it had great potential with flavor. The presentation of the food is definitely the best part of the restaurant so great job lead sous.

The place is nice and clean. Food was not so great. I have never ate a crab cake that looks and tasted like tuna and it was very dry. The kale salad that came with it was the best part. Chicken sandwich was average and the lamb gyros was ok....big portion of pita and veggies but the lamb was do dry and came in a patty. The best part of our lunch today were the steak fries and the salad. Not worth the price.

Didn t have a reservation for lunch on Father s Day. We had called prior and they said it wasn t full. So we get seated at smallest table in front of faux fireplace. Ok- no complaints even after we asked to be moved. Host said they had no other places to sit but they did. I was hungry- no big deal. We order and I get the Father s Day offering. It was good. Wife gets the salmon. Hers was completely raw in center. Gross. They ask her to reorder if she likes. She orders bass. It was small for almost $60. She liked it. We just got an apology and nothing more. Had to wait for the new dish to be made. Ok. We payed, tipped and left. It was Father s Day and didn t want to be negative. Seems like they only see what s immediately front of them . It was my first time there. Probably won t be back. Impresión of food didn t quite match the beautiful ambience. Good luck to you.

I wanted to love this place its conveniently located in the heart of downtown El Paso, a short walking distance from the arts district, theaters, and more, and its thoughtfully designed both inside and out. The dishes were well prepared, and the alfresco setting is lovely. Service had its ups and downs though. We received the wrong beer order twice, and our server vanished near mid-meal (we wouldve ordered dessert but had already waited a half-hour). That said, it may be more a problem of a team approach as a whole than with any one server, and we did enjoy the food.

Disappointed in our experience. Dinner menu food was bland. They seemed to be understaffed so we had to wait 15-20 minutes every time for the waiter to come back. I dont blame the staff as they looked like they were doing their best. Everything little thing (like a tiny cup of dressing) was an extra charge. Gratuity was automatically added at 20% without letting us know. I understand some restaurants do this for a party of 6 but I wouldve appreciated being notified so I didnt accidentally add an additional tip when the service was so frustrating.

I ordered steak frites and the fries were inedible. Like tinker toys- just dry and plastic. The au police sauce was terrible like bouillon gravy, and my rare steak was medium and bland. The seafood linguine was ok- way too many jalapeños, and the scallops were about the width of a nickel. The lamb dish was overly dry but the polenta underneath was great. The desserts and cocktails are really good but other than that, you are paying for the views outside and maybe the wood paneling inside. It s pub food with bougie presentation. Not worth the hype in my opinion. Spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else.

OVER RATED! French dip sandwich was dry, wedge salad with flank steak had 4 pieces of meat not cooked to the correct temperature of medium well, took a long time to bring more dressing, forgot about a hot tea that was ordered... it just was not great and the place was not busy. Also for the price, the service should have been way better. The only thing I enjoyed was the dressing that took too long. Probably will not come back.

The service and atmosphere were excellent but the food was lacking in flavor. We started with the Shishito peppers as appetizer and they were bland. We couldn t imagine finishing them all. The calamari was the best of all the food. The dipping sauce was a sweet and sour sauce instead of the usual marinara or ranch. My friend ordered the Anson 11 salad with steak, she found it ok. I ordered the Pesto Tomato Press from the vegetarian menu and it did not fulfill my expectations. Anson 11 used to deliver in food, they definitely need to update their menu. Vegetarian options: Small vegetarian section. Parking: You can park in the Parking Garage by Cafe Central. Anson 11 will validate your parking.

Was waiting a long time to eat here. Unfortunately, it didn t live up to its hype! Service was lacking, I ll say for it being a Sunday and people probably not wanting to work on a Sunday, I understand. But if you want a tip you need to at least pretend to want to be there. Food was mediocre, at best. For management please look around you and see what needs fixing. Floors were dirty and the tiles had cracks. The tables were a bit dirty and sitting by a window where the sun hits the table it is beyond obvious it was dirty. I will give Anson 11 another shot because although it shouldn t be an excuse it was a Sunday. For what the restaurant conveys of what atmosphere and food they serve it wasn t what I was expecting. I will change my review once I go back again, during a week day.

Walked in and sat myself at the bar. I was greeted promptly and provided their extensive wine menu and food menu. Had the meatloaf which was amazing! Only reason for four stars is that all of the chairs both at the bar end the low top tables are extremely narrow. I am a average height and weight male and had to sit there with the chair digging into my hips due to them being so narrow. I cannot imagine someone with a little bit of weight on them or even a female with wider hips being comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant and next time Im in town Ill be sure to visit again!

I took my wife here for their Valentine s Day event upstairs. It was disappointing overall. At $125 per person, expectations were high. The atmosphere is nice, but I found it odd that their tables are really small even though they have a great deal of floor space. The shared beef carpaccio appetizer was excellent. My wife had the wedge salad and it was also quite good. My vichyssoise soup however, sat out long enough after plating that it had formed a skin on top from starting to cool. Main course was salmon and a tenderloin. My wife s salmon was overcooked and dry. My filet was good but very small. Maybe 5 oz. The desert for the event was a rose petal ice cream and some gelatinous pink heart. It was terrible, but they were kind enough to bring replacement desserts that was a delicious flan. Service was a bit inattentive even though servers and server assistants were on staff. We had to flag someone down for pepper and drink refills. Food and service was good. Just not great or what I would expect for $325 dinner for two, after tax and tip. We regularly have better experiences at neighboring Cafe Central or 1700 Degrees Steakhouse that total about $225 per couple,

We have eaten here (in the bistro) several times now and the food and service are both excellent. There are plenty of great vegetarian choices including four entrees, flatbreads, gnocchi and several appetizers and salads. We found the gnocchi to be perfectly cooked and the parsnip purée was delicious and there could have been more, chef! ;) The margarita flatbread was well cooked and the tomato sauce was savory and really complemented the cheese. The warm chocolate cake with gelato and raspberry and mint and tuile was a real winner and could have fed four of us for dessert. They also have a Texas Toddy with honey bourbon that was delightful on a cold night. We ve had a few different waitstaff and all did a super job and were there before we knew we needed something. Highly recommend.

my family, friends, and i come to this restaurant often for all kinds of celebrations. whether its a birthday, girls night, date night or even just a casual outing, anson 11 always delivers quality service, food and vibes. both the upstairs and downstairs offer amazing dining experiences and never fail to deliver great service. making a reservation is super easy too, as you can either call or make one online. i would highly recommend the mango cantarito from the drink menu as well as the calamari, caesar salad, and the rib eye.

We have been here many times and enjoyed the experience. Our food and service has always been great except this last time we went. I ordered a martini and when I got the bill, I noticed the waiter had upcharged it to use grey goose, which I did not ask for. $20 for one martini that I wasn t even asking to be upgraded (I forget the specific term used on the receipt). He also brought my husband out another pelligrino without him asking and charged us for both of those. We didn t complain or say anything to the waiter because we were in a rush and they were taking awhile but it was disappointing to say the least. I don t know if he was trying to increase the bill to raise his top or whatnot but it seemed very shady and that had t happened to us there before. Overall this place is great but look at your bill in case you get the waiter we got the last time.

I stumbled upon this bar while in town to visit. It was late and I wanted to find some light dinner and a drink. Maurice the bartender was more than welcoming and friendly. He provided excellent customer service. He recommended the meat loaf and crème brûlée, both were amazing! Crème brûlée is a must have. The bartender made a mean old fashioned! Overall great experience.

Excellent spot for a date night downtown. Their food is always excellent, paired with great service. For special occasions, they do have fine dining upstairs by reservation, and the views are incredible! Ive also been told many times that the upstairs menu is available downstairs as well. I love their bar, its classy and spacious enough to eat at.

Nice place food was very mid. Rib eye over cooked and flavor was not good. Took around 2-3 hours to leave this place. Food was taking for ever. And when it arrived it was disappointing. Their Rib eye only had a small portion of meat can t believe they will put that on a plate. Cheesecake look nice but the granola tasted old. I m only giving them 3 stars due to their great staff. Overall mid. Don t waste your time

We had dinner reservations. Hostess very attentive. We were greeted with do you know what you want to drink?. No hello, not my name is XYZ. We ordered calamari as app. Breading was coming off and was.very salty. I ordered a Rosè and they brought me a warm (yes, warm) purple sweet wine in a champagne flute. Ugh. I ordered the seafood medley and it was absolutely abysmal. The sauce was super thick and greasy. 2 of 3 mussels were not open. My friend ordered a salad and they served their rendition of cesar salad: dry lettuce with an abundance of croutons. It was a horrible experience. From service, drinks and food. I wouldnt had paid $10 for that awful pasta dish, let alone $31. Never again.

I want to rave about the amazing experience my 4-year old and I had there. It was an impromptu daughter-mommy dinner and my daughter wanted a yummy salad . While it was not the place I would usually take a preschooler our waiter Zack was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He spoke to my daughter when she order her food and treated her like a little grown up. She loved the whole experience and was raving how good her food was. He came by and asked us how our food was and once again, spoke to her individually and it just made her day to be treated like a big kid. Zack thank you so much for making it a wonderful fun experience for a little girl. Oh and the house salad and chicken mushroom pasta were amazing to share!

Dined in the Bistro for the second time in 6 years. Cannot compare and nitpick because clearly I do not go often enough to comment. What I can say is that chocolate mousse and a tiramisu does not take 45 minutes. I m allergic to coconut and Tiramisu was covered in it. Did I know? Absolutely not. Did the server remove it to replace it? Absolutely not. Charged for it? Yes. Enjoyed the chocolate mousse though

Was amazing! A few friends went after a long day of work. Atmosphere was nice, lively but not to loud to have conversation. We got Shishito Peppers and Calamari for an appetizer. was some of the most tender calamari ive ever had! the shishito peppers were amazing as well. For dinner we had -A11 Burger, Very good, nice and moist and perfectly cooked. I got it on sourdough rather than a butter bun -Pastrami Melt, said this had been one of the best pastramis theyve had -Spanish Chicken, was good but not a repeat. We also got some cocktails - Lavender Mule, very floral and delicious - Spicy margarita, nice and spicy -Smoky Sazerac, coworker loved theirs, but i found mine to sharp. -Mango something? was good enough to order 2! We got a tiramisu for desert. while it was good, it was rich and sweet. It isnt a tiramisu, there was very little espresso flavoring, and it was mostly the coconut from the cream.

I sat at the bar and it took a very long to get any drinks - even a water. I then ordered a charcuterie board appetizer and the cheeses didn t pair well together or with the selected meats AT ALL. It was like haphazardly thrown together with scrap cheese they had in the back. Also didn t have any crackers or bread to go with it, which is customary with a charcuterie - so it was difficult to eat with a fork because the cheese was very crumbly. Then ordered the gnocchi with pesto and parsnip purée. The purée was cold, so obviously had been pre-plated WELL before the food was done. And the gnocchi was completely flavorless. Service was generally slow. I had to basically beg them to clear plates/cups/menus that were in front of me to make room. Overall, this place is not worth the hype and I wish I had spend my money somewhere else such a waste.

Went for Sunday brunch with a reservation and were the first table seated in the section. Two bigger groups, one mostly kids, were served before us and the other smaller tables that were seated before them. French dip was mostly bread. Its deli meat not roasted prime rib. The au jus was in a very small ramekin with maybe an oz. The server didnt know what the au jus was for. Requested mayo and mustard arrived when we were close to the end of the meal. The forbidden rice was bitter. They should roast the brussels separately so they dont get soggy. The burgers were great but they no longer have the veggie burger as an option. The boozy beverages no longer include refills even tho its still posted on the website so its ten bucks for an mostly ice small glass bloody mary. Water and tea refills a have to be asked for. Props to whoever cooked the steak fries which was the best part of each dish. Crab cake was good as well. Disorganized service even with the manager helping out.

Tonite we were downtown for a function and decided to pop in to Anson11 since we had never been there. We waited nearly 10 minutes for iced tea and a Diet Coke. We ordered the Frito Pie appetizer and it was quite tasty and arrived promptly. We had ordered a pasta dish and a French dip sandwich. No big food fancy going on for us this night. So began the wait and wait and wait and wait. Well over a hour. Server brought out bread. How much longer it s almost out. Great! Nothing nothing nothing. Go inside and ask our server to box it up. Ok, but he brought our food to the table and then boxed it up. Had said he asked the manager, Kevin to visit our table but he was too busy! Tell them it ran late because of large tables blah blah. It could have been partly the servers fault, regardless the manager should have addressed it. Get home, the Pappardelle was so salty there were 4 long noodles, stuck together. Horrible. My husband liked the French dip. We will NEVER go back. What a shame. KEVIN, you can do better. When I figure out who the owner is, I ll write a letter there too.

Anson 11 is a perfect location for dinner before a show at the Plaza Theater or any other downtown El Paso event. The Bistro downstairs has a bar, indoor and outdoor seating. The fine dining restaurant upstairs is usually quiet and has a bar. There is space for private dining. The fine dining menu is great with the steak and shrimp or scallops being my favorite. But do be prepared to spend some time upstairs, if that is your choice. Service is attentive, but it is a fine dining experience rather than a fast bite to eat. The Bistro is livelier with tables closer together. It is a popular spot for graduation dinners, proms, and other events. I don t care for most of the Bistro menu. The pork belly tacos are my least favorite and frankly, I can t eat them. Meatloaf is usually dry. Drinks are pricy for El Paso; an $18 house martini is not ordinary for this border town. Appetizers, like the Frito Pie sound interesting, but is exactly what you think a bunch of Fritos with a little meat for too much money. So, why go here? Location, location, location. Other options are available downtown if you are willing to walk a few blocks to the theater or convention center after dining. Vegetarian options: The forbidden rice is a great option for vegetarian. I order it then add beef sometimes. Parking: Most people park in the Chase Parking Garage, walk half a block, then have parking validated. The Chase garage is new and clean, with good traffic flow. Sometimes there is a valet parking service at Anson 11. Convention Center parking at $10 by credit card is a fine option.
