This place has some great trails, but it s gates appear to have been closed for quite some time. No one seems to have figured out that you don t need a tramway to ascend a mountain when the trails are still in good condition. Very disappointing visit.

Why hasnt anyone tried to find a way to bring the Tramway back. What a waste. . As long as Ive been here, anything that people have enjoyed, gets washed down the . Do better El Paso.

A great place, I had a great time. The ranger said it was normally very busy and I d come during a lull. A lot of people showed up before I left. The tram is great the mountain is great. Looking down over El Paso and Mexico is awesome. I think I just read on google that it s permanently closed. I hope that s not true. It was a nice part of my August road trip and I d like to go back again.

Closed but not perminantly. I bet they will get funding eventually to reopen it. Very sad its an awesome view and a fun ride at a reasonable price. We lost a major El paso attraction and this needs to get resolved asap! The staff were great theres a gift shop at the summit. You can even chose to hike back down one if several trails. Not to mention it cooler up there so its a great place to go to beat the summer heat. Ok ill say it, it can be a romantic place too. It was for us.

Ha ha ha..! Do you try to find a place to go in El Paso? Ok . You dont have many choices... This elevation is one of the best touristic places. You can see all around and recognise how close Mexica is... And if you had visited history museum first, you can put facts in appropriate places in your imagination.... the river... the border...the water system,... the army base.. Worth it... but do not forget to go early. If you dont... dont forget your hat, sunscreen, water....

This is such a fun activity for a weekend adventure. Ive been on it twice and both times I was just as impressed with the mechanics of the tramway and enthralled with the views at the top. The ascent is around 900ft with the gondola moving at a speed of, I believe, 9mph so its nothing extreme. This is definitely a must if you have visitors from out of town. Just, overall, a lot of fun.

Must do in El Paso, easily the best view of the city (as well as Mexico and NM). The park rangers were very knowledgeable and had a lot of good information. There is also hiking available at the top, but you must purchase that separately. I definitely recommend going early; lines can be up to an hour and if the parking lot fills up then you re out of luck. In the winter months it gets dark early enough to see the sunset before it closes.

Offers a challenging hike up the mountain to get to the tram, and a nice ride back to the car. If youre not up for a hike then you can ride the tram up as well. The mountain is challenging but can be managed easily, my 6 year old handled the climb without a problem. Bring lots of water!

Wyler Aerials tramway, was an unexpected great experience Ive lived in El Paso since 1984 and I heard about this Tramway that goes all the way up to the top of the news channel 9 antennas but my God the experience was so much more than I expected to be able to see the whole mostly the whole city of El Paso from that vantage point can never be expressed through words you need to go up there and see it for yourself to believe it. I witnessed a hawk or an eagle Brown Eagle soaring above the mountains to about almost almost 2, 000 feet and the eagle was at least another 500 to 600 ft above us. My wife and my daughter were able to see from William Beaumont all the way to downtown all the way to the west side we could see you tap we could see downtown El Paso and and to Sunland Park New Mexico on a beautiful clear day. The park rangers were so knowledgeable and so hospitable I even asked one about the cougar population and he pulled up one of those trail cams where its at its motion detector and saw the the most striking image of a cougar that they caught on this motion cam it was almost like she was or he was posing for the picture beautiful animal I still to this day cant believe that El Paso Police Department actually shot and kill one of these Majestic animals especially since the veterinarian had already hit this animal with two darts to tranquilize it oh my God what are you doing but crazy but you would have to kill such a majestic animal but back to the Tramway if youve never been up there go you will never forget it and you will enjoy every minute of being up there thank you , El Paso for such an unforgettable moment in for an unforgettable site.

Rangers are nice and the park is well kept. Parking is good with lots of spits but the drive to the tramway is really steep. Cars in poor shape might want to avoid. One car overheated the auto trans on the way up. The Rangers + Directissimo trail was more difficult than I thought it would be. I am not experienced in rocky trails and it took a while to see the trail without trying. If I do it again I will wear gloves (hot rocks) and bring more water. And two poles instead of a walking stick.

It is possible to take a trail and choose to return to the starting point by cable car or by walking with the help of a guide rope. Access is by car and is further away from the city. Great touristy thing to do in El Paso. Great views of the city / Juarez and the surrounding hills. The tram does not have the towers that you have to bud-dum-bump over, so its a very smooth ride. The views from the top are fanastic, and varied thanks to lookouts in various directions. The gift shop was closed, so no comments on it, but the park rangers were really nice and had lots of good information. This is the kind of place that lots of tourists go to, so if you like striking up conversation with fellow travelers to share stories its a good activity. Just make sure you get there early. I was there on a weekday about 30 mins before they started taking people up and the line behind me was LONG. The sun is also pretty intense up there--my neck got a little burned. Bring the sunscreen!
