Closed, you can wander the grounds but not really kept up. Not worth the effort to get a pass on base etc.

Nice little museum by the parade field. Staff was there to answer questions. Most exhibits are touchable and some you can climb, so be careful bringing small children. Items are not labeled individually. Not bad. It is also well maintained. The exhibits are not tagged, and there are only two placards in each room explaining whats in the room. Also, the shape of the mannequin wearing the womans clothes in the photo looks like a Texas woman.

It is very neat to see. You can tell they did a lot to get it setup, but has been neglected for a long time. Still, our kids absolutely love it here. We come regularly and its a favorite even when its closed. Please come and visit. Perhaps theyll invest some more money into keeping it up.

It is a representation of what life was like for the soldiers who inhabited the fort at the end of the 19th century. With the barracks, kitchen, store, stables, cemetery. In short, a very good place to learn about part of the history of the United States and the lives of those who conquered the old, wild West. The museum is located inside the military base, so you must obtain a pass or authorization to enter it.

This looks like a really cool place. Unfortunately, it was not open while I was there. Im sure Covid played a major part in it being closed. I will definitely be back in the next 4 months or so as my son-in-law is stationed at Fort Bliss and hopefully it will be open. I will adjust my rating when I experience it open.

It is really neat to see what the original installation looked like. Be seeing it, you can almost imagine what it would be like to be stationed out west in a remote outpost. The place can be seen in about 30 minutes. It has areas broken down to specialties. Better to see when they have other events there. That way they have people demonstrating things in multiple areas.
