Went here because shockingly it was raining the morning of April 1. No April fools. Most city museums are closed on Mondays so this was the only thing we found. We were surprised at how much we liked it. Very interesting history and something you never think about: what happens to an international border when a river changes course? They presented the information in such a good way that it kept the attention of my 10 and 8 year old boys. Additionally, they actually have great Tshirts in the gift shop that are very comfy if you re like me and buy shirts at every NPS site.

I enjoyed visiting the Chamizal National Memorial and Cultural Park. It was very informative and enlightening on its historic arbitration between two countries that stood ground on territorial boundaries. Great photos about President Kennedy and his arrived in El Paso to meet Mexicos president and delegates from both countries to make reparations about the Chamizal boundaries.

Love this park. So peaceful in the center of chaos by the bridge, but you dont notice it much while enjoying a nice walk on the trails. The museum is nice and clean and there are a lot of squirrels and owls who dont bother you. Remember it is their home enjoy and relax there in one of the nice picnic areas.

The park is beautiful and well maintained. I enjoy taking my dogs here for a walk. I love the fact that they have an evening park ranger, it makes it feel safe. What does make me upset is that they keep closing the park earlier and earlier. The park for a long time would close at 10 pm, next thing I know the time was changed to 9 pm if I recall correctly. Winter hours, it was changed till 7pm. Now a lot of people who work get off from work between 5-6pm. This does not give the opportunity for those who work to attend the park regularly. Whoever is managing the park hours is clearly not taking into consideration the fact that people work. They actually had a sign posted stating that April 1st park would be closing at 9pm. Unfortunately, they removed the sign. I called today only to find out the park hours would remain the same for spring. It was very upsetting as I was really looking forward to these hours. I will be writing a letter soon and encourage others to do so as well.

Great visit for people new to the area or to bring El Paso visitors. Toilets: There are restrooms available inside the Visitor Center when it is open. Dog-friendliness: Not sure if dogs are technically allowed in the park, but I ve seen plenty of people walking dogs around the memorial grounds. I believe that the Chamizal National Monument is a historic landmark hat should be appreciated and preserved for all times in El Paso because it bears a lot of significance; especially between the agreements that have been made in the past by previous US leaders and Mexico leaders, and it represents a very important bond between the United States and Mexico, which should be honored, always.

The park seems very well maintained with lots of room to walk around or picnic or walk your dog Picnic area: There were definitely several spots to choose from to picnic here and each spot that I saw had 3 tables with shade over the table and a place to grill. One area even had a restroom near it too. The picnic areas were also very clean too with no trash on the ground but Im sure the trash cans nearby helped with that as well

Large beautiful park and monument, commemorating the peaceful resolution of the chamizal problem , a decades long border dispute between Mexico and the US. As part of the resolution land was set aside to memorialize the peaceful resolution and friendship between the countries. There is a park with walking trails and also a visitors center/cultural center. Inside is a small but extremely interesting museum about the conflict and the resolution. There is also an art gallery and theater for cultural performances. The park is staffed by some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable and proud park rangers I have ever encountered. As a national monument it is park of the national park service so there is a passport stamp station inside. The outside is also a great place to walk around and the grounds open early for recreation. The park and buildings are impeccably maintained. Highly recommend this monument if you are in El Paso! You will learn a lot and enjoy yourself immensely.
