i ve been to state line my whole life but i decided to leave a review now as im eating here. Jorge gave such excellent service, and was very quick to bring out my food and bring anything i asked for. also, the manager here was very nice and polite. 10/10 would recommend!

Friendly staff. Compared to other bbq in Texas, I wouldn t consider this bbq. No flavor with brisket and very dry. Two meat lunch combo and you barely get any meat. Guess they stack up sides to make you feel good about it. Rudy s bbq makes better bbq and probably better price per lb.

State Line is a carnivores delight!! (They have vegetarian choices too) Walking into the HUGE outdoor patio has the look and feel of the cantinas from old western movies. Upon entering the building, the motif changes from cantina.Old cantina. The bar is the first thing you see upon entering the building, and it is a piece of artwork and architecture. The dining room is large and spacious, decorated with furniture and antiques from another era. The hostess was gracious and polite. The server for my table was Bradley. He did a great job and was very attentive to any request and very polite. I ordered the 3 meat combo. Choosing lean brisket, peppered turkey and pulled pork. The meals are served with three sides. Coleslaw potato salad and barbecue beans, all of which were very tasty. The meets were Well prepared im very flavorful. They are served with their own barbecue sauce, which is tangy and spicy and absolutely worth a try. A particular highlight to the meal.Was the house baked bread. It is served warm in generous slices. Make sure you ask for this delight. I finished my meal with a Delicious piece of peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. I do recommend you save space for the cobbler.

State line has been a decent go to spot for BBQ for as long as I can remember. Pork ribs are fantastic, their sausage is great, desserts are on point. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Today we got a lunch 3 meat combo with a baked tater, also beef ribs, pork ribs and potatoes salad. If you check in through the yelp app, you get a prompt for free sausage appetizer. We had a great meal, only thing for me was the beef ribs just didnt have much meat on them and no smoke flavor youd expect

Omg.. I brought to the managers attention that the Food was Very bland. Gave them a chance to take Maybe a few cents off my bill, but No .. Full charge! And it was my birthday. Wont make that mistake again. Reading some of the reviews apparently Im not the Only one who thinks theyre food is Bland. Horrible. Cant believe the chef actually still has a job there. Do Better. Great food. Great BBQ. Sadly, theyve gotten to comfortable with the paying members (customers) in their community. They let a pig park out in their back driveway to catch speeders, etc. coming from Sunland Park (where there are multiple dispensaries located). Its a shame that businesses forget this and want to bite the hand that feeds them. Sadly, wont be going back. Businesses like this all meet their demise sooner or later.

We went to celebrate my moms birthday with our whole family, but things got off to a bad start. We asked for a table near the window to enjoy the live music, but instead, they seated us at the far back where even the waitress couldnt see us. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of dining at the legendary State Line, and it truly lived up to its stellar reputation. Despite a moderate crowd, the service was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and received a high level of attentiveness. We placed a large order for a variety of dishes and our food was flavorful. Not the best steakhouse in the region, but they re an oldie but goodie that I do visit once in a while. Beef ribs are not very legendary. They re skinny and tougher than I would expect from a slow-cooked special. I will give props to the waitress (not on this visit, but a previous one), who actually warned us about the lack of substance on the ribs so 5-stars for honesty and customer care :-)

Im sad to say that my most recent experience ordering food was unpleasant. This place used to have some of the best BBQ in El Paso but now it is barely passable. I dont know if it was just the timing or the dishes we ordered but they were not worth what we paid. We ordered 4 of the emergency BBQ plates and replaced the sausage with beef ribs. The things that were good from that were the ribs, the potato salad, cole slaw and the sauce. Everything else wasnt good and I wouldve expected it from a much lower costing place. Everything was dry. The turkey, the chicken, even the brisket was extremely dry which surprised me the most as I remember the brisket being some of the best. If I had to choose between here and Famous Daves, Ill pick Daves over this place as of now. Im really disappointed with the quality of the food and hope itll get better in the future, but for now I would hold off on ordering from here until their quality matches their price.

We got the Cadillac ($70 for two). The brisket was very dry and had a weak taste. The sausage tasted like something from Walmart. The peppered turky was the only thing that was not that bad. The ribs were ok. The chicken was nothing special. They actually did have a nice atmosphere, which had my hopes up in the beginning. Awful experience! Manager is very rude. We went for Mother s Day with the understanding that it would be busy. After having all of our party here from the beginning, they told us 20 minutes. Now it s been over an hour and we still have not been seated. When I politely asked about how much time was left, manager got very defensive, rude, and down right unprofessional! Serving sizes are too small, overpriced, and filled with fat even if you order lean meat. If you want a place to treat you with disrespect and over charge you for it, then this is definitely the place for you. Honestly it s better not to waste your time with these lame incompetent people.

This was my first experience eating at State Line and I was a little disappointed. Not sure what happened. The service and our waitress were amazing! The atmosphere was beautiful! It truly is a gorgeous restaurant! Unfortunately, however, the food did not live up to the expectation. We were a large group celebrating my fathers birthday and we wanted to try something special and that usually means costly, which it was, but for what we paid for we expected much better. I ordered the three meat platter which included marbled brisket, pulled pork, and sausage along with the sides of course. When I received my food I noticed the brisket looked very odd. I have eaten at many barbecue places and have never seen brisket that color before. They claim it was smoked but it had no smoke ring and more than that it was a very pale almost white looking color. I thought maybe they had given me turkey instead by mistake so I asked the waitress but she confirmed that it was smoked marbled brisket. It was kind of bland and very tough to eat, very chewy. There was no smokey flavor to any of the meats. They lacked that renowned barbecue flavor that everyone expects but the brisket was the best of the worst. I set it aside and instead ate the sausage which was not bad and moved onto the pulled pork which was also just ok and a bit dry. The sides were good but they are sides afterall. Im guessing my waitress noticed that I separated my brisket onto another plate in order to leave it and she brought me another piece from the back and apologized claiming that it was the way the brisket was cut that was the problem. I smiled and thanked her for her trouble which I thought was above and beyond for her to do. To be fair the second piece was much better as far as color goes and it was definitely much more tender than the piece I got originally. My girlfriend, who had eaten here several times before covid, told me that the quality of the food has declined significantly. Nonetheless, we made the best out of our experience and enjoyed the rest of our time there and celebrated my dads birthday. On a positive note, our waitress was very attentive and even found us a birthday candle when we realized we had forgotten our own. Not sure I will return to State Line. Aside from the service and beauty of the restaurant there is not much there thats appealing.I honestly believe the quality and taste of Famous Daves, or Rudys is exponentially better. I sincerely hope things get better and that my experience was a fluke.

The service and atmosphere of the restaurant are highly enjoyable; the food however, leaves much to be desired. The famous bread is not worth the extra money by any means. The ribs lack any smokiness or barbecue flavor to them, Texas Roadhouse Ribs are better by a lot. The brisket and turkey are okay, but not amazing. Overall the food as a whole is okay, but far from being great; I would go to Rudys or Famous Daves ten times before coming back here once. Its a shame that for as good as the atmosphere and the service are the food is lagging so far behind.

My girlfriend and I try to eat dinner there once a month, to enjoy a night out. Service has always been top notch and the staff, very knowledgeable and kind. The food, excellent beyond. Its great quality and I highly recommend it! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available on the menu and upon request.

Its good food. But there is better out there. For example. Id come back here with a group, but if it were me alone choosing, Id have to choose the competition. I will say this, the grilled vegetables are top of the line, that the competition if they even offer grilled vegetables, couldn t beat stateline. Nice restaurant interior. Very generous portions of food. The bar is nice and cozy.

Potato salad was very sour, too much mustard or vinegar. The slaw had no seasoning. Beans were good, nothing special but seasoned nicely. The beef ribs were tough, and silver skin was not cleaned from ribs. My server was good. Margarita was okay.

Okay here it is , I was told this was a good place. I come to El Paso a lot so I decided to go see what it was all about. Well I was disappointed ! First of all I googled this place and the pictures show that the bar has about 8-10 chairs to sit at the bar , well I walk in and theres only two and I asked the hostess if thats all the chairs they have to sit at the bar because the two chairs there were occupied already and she said well I can bring another chair if you would like to sit at the bar. Well yes I want to sit at the bar and have some beers and maybe eat some dinner at the bar . Well I didnt like how they made me feel and the aurua of this place didnt feel good and didnt make me feel welcomed from the staff ! If one is looking to go sit at the bar to relax after work and have some beers and drinks this not the place !! While I was there at the bar I saw a few people come there and ordered food and leave , now I dont know if its because the food is good but the feeling of being welcomed sucks that the people just got food and left and didnt want to stick around! From my personal experience I didnt like the vibe so I will not be going back and leaving my hard earned money here again ! But if one likes that kind of vibe here then by all means go here but if its not your kind of vibe dont come here and your better off going to a better vibe establishment than this place !! Heres my rating for this place five thumbs down!!!

First off, I would like to make a HUGE shout out to our waiter, Julian. He was super tentive, very kind, and never had any issues when we asked for anything. We had a party of 7 with 2 kiddos, and there was not one moment where we had to ask for refills. He had such a great attitude and never forgot anything we requested. Thank you Julian, you are truly what we need more of in the customer service world!! The food also came out very quickly and was super delicious!!! Such a great experience all around.

Tyler R is what gave this place a 5 star. Food was average for smokehouse. Tyler was quick and polite. He had great service skills. Food came out quickly and was hot. Food had a smoke flavor to it bit tasted like liquid smoke was added to enhance flavor. Beans and potato salad had good flavor. Keep up the good work Tyler.

The flavor was outstanding, but portions were small, especially on the protein side. Salad was not as good. Bread is a must, really good. We tried salmon and 5 a meat dish and definitely the best. The place has a good atmosphere, some old stuff that can be restored, especially the chicago coin band box, that will make a good attraction for people. Staff was ok too, not on the friendly side but always willing to help if you need. The place is definitely an obligated stop in El paso if you want to enjoy good food. I will be coming back for margaritas. Those are one of the few well done I have tried in El paso. Last but not least, the price is better than expected, not on the expensive side but in the correct amount for what you received. I definitely recommend this place.
