I went twice during my trip to El Paso. The food was absolutely incredible! During my first visit I ate the trashcan nachos. Those nachos were so freaking good and the chips took a long time to get soggy. Everything that i tried there was amazing!! I wish they had a location in miami :(

It was a little slow for a football Sunday. Happy Hour all day. Cold beer, trash can nachos were fire. We guacamole burger and the Juarez Burger. Both were amazing but more kudos to the Juarez Burger. Prices were not bad counting for inflation but this isnt were you want to be to save a buck. We spent about $100 total for two people. Will recommend and will be back the staff was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Angry Owl is a must for any trip to El Paso. Their unique burgers amd fantastic flavors will definitely make it one of your instant favorites. Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is definitely great with the kids. Their kids proportions were more than enough to keep my 11yr old fed.

I was excited when I saw the menu, but this was below average in many ways. The stuffed jalapeños were incinerated, not fried, to the point all the cheese stuffing probably ended up in the fryer. The Cubano was just a salty, wet sad mess. The pork was bland, the ham had been burned on the grill and the pickles werent great. The trademark of a good Cubano is a healthy swipe of mustard, and this was missing completely. The Cubano is also suppose to come with their fries but I didnt get any. I called back and asked if they came with the sandwich. The person on the phone said yes, so I told her what happened. Her response was Well what do you want ME to do about it? Sad, because the fries were good - I tried a few of my nephews. The burger my nephew had was also incinerated. Seemed to be the theme of the food. The cheese was completely melted off the patties. The quesadilla was decent, but only just. Ill probably still be looking for the tequila in their signature margarita I had while waiting for my order sometime next week and still wont find it. Definitely not a repeater.

****UPDATED REVIEW 6/21/2024**** After a disappointing first visit, Angry Owl completely redeemed itself during our recent dining experience on 6/21/2024 at approximately 6:20 PM. The transformation was remarkable, and it was all thanks to our outstanding server, Victor Munoz. Victor mentioned he was still learning, but his service was absolutely the best we have ever received. His attentiveness, professionalism and genuine friendliness made our evening truly enjoyable. From the moment we were seated, Victor ensured we were well taken care of, making sure our drinks were promptly refilled and that our orders were taken without delay. His positive attitude and dedication to providing excellent service were evident throughout the meal. Victors attention to detail, from suggesting menu items to checking on us regularly, showed a level of care and commitment that is rare to find. He is truly a star in the making and his efforts did not go unnoticed. Additionally, one of the cooks even walked out to the tables to ensure the food was up to standard. This was a very different experience, but we really liked it. It demonstrated a level of care and customer service that greatly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, we are blown away by the transformation in service. Thanks to Victors exceptional service and the proactive efforts of the staff, our perception of Angry Owl has completely changed. Highly recommended! *****INITIAL VISIT***** My recent visit to Angry Owl was marred by incredibly poor service, leaving me thoroughly dissatisfied. Heres why I wouldnt recommend this establishment nor will I be returning: Unwelcoming Atmosphere: The ambiance was lackluster, and the staff seemed more interested in their own conversations than attending to customers. It felt as though we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. Slow Service: Despite the restaurant not being busy in the bar/table section, it took a long time for our orders to be taken (later taken by the bartender as Gilbert never came to our table until the middle of our meal). Inattentive Staff: Throughout the meal when Gilbert took over, it was difficult to get his attention as he was no where to be found nor did he check on us. Requests for assistance were forgotten entirely and we had to get the attention of another gentleman that was running out the food. The level of attentiveness was severely lacking. Poor Management: There was a noticeable absence of management presence. It seemed as though there was a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Bartender Serving as Server: The only staff member who did display a positive attitude was the bartender. She informed us that our server was going to be Gilbert; however Gilbert never appeared to our table until the middle of our dining experience which is where it went downhill. Unfortunately, we didnt catch her name; however, she did take our drink and appetizer orders and brought it to us and then later taking our lunch order. Overall, my experience at Angry Owl was extremely disappointing due to the abysmal service we received after the bartender assisted us. The bartender and hostess were a gem; unfortunately, I am unable to say that about the rest of the staff that day. I would advise others to steer clear of this establishment until significant improvements are made in the quality of service provided.

I struggle with this place. This was our second visit here and we had more problems. The first time we came, we had excellent service but my burger came with the paper from the cheese slice in it and hair in my fries. The manager made it right so we came again this evening. Our service was okay, but not great which was weird because it was dead. Anyways, we asked for crispy fries and were told they can t do that because they re made in batches so our fries tasted old and like they d been sitting for a while. The server just said sorry about that. Why not go make some fresh fries since they re not busy? I also made sure to tell the server I wanted my burger well done with no pink and sure enough it came with pink. Luckily, I switched with my husband, but this sucked because we ordered slightly different burgers. My husband also had a dirty cup. I feel this place has potential with the menu and the fries when they re fresh are tasty, but the kitchen needs help on detail. I feel the kitchen work is lazy. Serving old fries, paper in burgers, can t cook a well done burger, and dirty dishes/hair? Sad.

Yesterday, we went to celebrate my brothers birthday May 25, 2024. Our whole psrty of 13 was there by 2:30 it took our waiter a very long time to take our orders. When everyone got there order they forgot about mine. It then took 15 minutes more. When finally got my meal they gave me regular fries instead of sweet potatoes fries. Then my mom was also given wrong change. We even had a spill and waiter didnt bother to bring a rag to clean it up. It was not a good day we wsited for a long time and others were getting there food on time. not what we expected. Not even a courtesy apology from waiter or other employees.

Gilbert was my waiter & was wonderful. I wanted to order the tacos, but was concerned about the spiciness because of the hatch chilis. He gave a sample to try out before I ordered. It was so delicious & brought back memories when I lived in California with my family growing up. Every Friday we would meet with out neighbors & have tacos. This brought so many great memories. Came in on a Sunday afternoon, ordered drinks, bartender was nice. Asked if they do half orders, she said no, only on weekdays. The menu says 15% discount for veterans, which my husband is, and after proving hes a veteran she discounts his meal, and a few feet away she tells the manager Hector that she gave him a military discount and he loudly, with his hand half covering his mouth like a frat boy, yells Cheap! at us. I feel deceived as I went it after I had seen on a fb post that they had 25% off for military on Monday. So my spouse and I took the kids to go eat with us. I didn t bother to read the pamphlet in the middle of the table but I guess the 25% is only for people have their card not including their children. It s misleading not to post the whole pamphlet on social media and it be different in the restaurant. In addition to that the food was disappointingly subpar. My au jus sauce was cold. The bread was very soggy on my Philly. The nacho cheese sauce on the trash can nachos stuck to the chips like they barely warmed up the cheese as well. Stood in the front for almost a good 10 minutes before we got sat. Server was very polite, no complaints there.

My first experience here was nothing short of superb. The staff was all welcoming and friendly amid a great atmosphere for dining. I was blown away by the quality of food and drinks! Normally when you think of a bar, you sometimes assume that their specialty must be drinks, and a restaurants must be food, but Angry Owl really delivers on both fronts. The bartenders are attentive and really know how to make drinks, and the menu has a great variety to satisfy just about any craving. They can consider me a regular from now on. I have gone several times with groups of people. It is unfortunate that when they have repeat customers, they dont try to keep them. Knowing that we were having a class, having dinner and drinks, they started vacuuming and making outrageous noise right above us, shaking the ceiling, even though I told the waitress, so we left. It was dinner hours! The other table left as well. I also take offense to them claiming that they give teachers a discount on Thursday, then they claimed that what I ordered wasnt part of the discount, even though their menu says 25 percent off, no exceptions mentioned. Dont put it on your menu if you do not intend to honor it! Thats False advertising! No wonder there is hardly ever anybody there, and now theyve lost our business. Food is just so so, however, most of the wait staff is good. The nachos are mostly all chips, with very little toppings on top of them. To respond to comment I looked at it and it does Not show exceptions. I have the picture. It was not explained when I walked in and asked. It was not mentioned until I was ready to pay! That noise was unacceptable as well for dinner time! This is a very unacceptable answer from either the owner or manager that responded

Service is lacking lately, we walked in and all people working were standing at the bar talking, tuned and looked at us and kept talking.. then finally a girl came to sit us. Now for the food, we were the only customers in the restaurant and our food took like 30 min to come out, not a huge deal, we are understanding people but I ordered buffalo fries and the fries were completely cold, my husband ordered a burger and fries and they only brought the burger out and said the fries would be out shortly, well 20 min later the fries came out like we are ready to leave already! Pros 1. My first time here. Me and my wife ordered burgers. They were good, and good flavor, but my burger was a little burned. They should offer how we want our burgers, such as medium to medium rare. 2. The option for a cup of soup instead of fries is great! 3. The waitress Kristy was courteous and was really attentive. I appreciate her service. Kudos to her. Cons 1. The place is too cold when it s freezing outside. Turn the heaters on. 2. It was a little pricey for burgers but it s the Westside so maybe that s why. 3. The worst part I didn t like is I wanted a Dr Pepper. It costs 3.75 for a damn DP! What the hell man! 4. They over did it with the pepper on my burger but it was still good when I scraped some of it off. 5. The price for a small beer is 5.00. It s a little pricey as well 6. When we arrived. We waited to be seated for about 3 to 4 min. There were two young ladies at the bar just yapping away. They did see us but didn t say anything. After that time waiting, a 3rd young lady came out of the back and came to us telling us sorry for the wait. There weren t many people and those other two ladies could have just yelled out someone will be right with you or something like that. Overall I may or may not go there again. I haven t decided, but if I do return, I will order to go and buy my 12 pack of DPs for the same price, more or less or a 6 pack of Coronas.

Ashley is a great server! very attentive, helpful and anticipated our needs :) they have an awesome happy hour with really good appetizers. can t go wrong with the nachos. we tried their chicken strips and those were good too. the french fries and calabacitas are my favorite sides. I love this place and will always suggest coming here!

Fried mushrooms were greasy and over done, the small build your burger was sad and the easy egg over the top was well done not leave out the cold fries. Wife s tacos lacked flavor and her beans & rice were also cold. Only one decent sandwich hit the table but defiantly NOT worth $70+ to dine here. Just save your cash and hit up the Whataburger drive through. Really enjoyed our meal. We had the border melt and hatch Chile burger (with Impossible patty, which I was excited they had on the menu). Food was fast and tasty. Marble rye on the border melt was unexpectedly good. We appreciate the selection of beer and spirits I ordered a very tasty margarita made with mezcal and they had several mezcal options. It is a sports bar, so it was a bit noisy and not fancy. Food was kind of pricey, but I think we all understand inflation has impacted the cost of dining out. Vegetarian options: Impossible burger

Great food. My only complaint would be the prices but, I understand that everythings more nowadays. So my complaint isnt so much of a complaint but rather an observation that hopefully helps those who are thinking of going to eat there. Go for the great food, just know that it will cost more than fast food would, as it should. I think I paid $25 for a tortilla soup, the Juarez burger and an ice tea. The burger was very delicious and huge.

Me and the wife ate here for a date night. She got a hatch greenchille burger and I ordered the jalapeno cream cheese bacon. First off there was a 3.50 upcharge to get sweet potato fries over regular fries and the serving portion was smaller. We both requested our burgers to be med, both came out well done. Hers juicy but mine was dry as cardboard. They also neglected to add the bacon to mine and the cream cheese was cold on the burger. Ive had a better burger in the jalapeno patty in an MRE with more flavor. My wifes burger was decent in flavor, so an avg burger. The server checked on us once during our time, did not refill our drinks. As with most places now their recommended tip started at 18%. TIPs are not guaranteed you need to work for it. Not worth us returning.

I ve went to Angry Owl the last 2 times I visited El Paso. They have a big parking lot which is great because I was pulling a trailer. The food is delicious and they have some good original burgers. Last time I went I noticed they had peppers growing outside. Nice friendly staff and chill atmosphere. No one was angry

Absolutely pathetic, Id fire every single person here, especially the managers not busy and all you see is servers on the phone, bartender on the phone and the managers ignore everyone, dont seem to help anyone out they just stand around while customers wait for someone to not be lazy Worst bar in El Paso by far.
