I treated myself today and ordered the jalapeño combination plate which consists of beef, chicken, shrimp and mushrooms. Delicious! Beef was tender and shrimp was tasty. Everything on the plate was fresh and tasty I also ordered fried bananas which tasted oh so yummy. I also had great customer service. The owner is nice and friendly. Thanks!

I ordered tasty asian for my birthday this Saturday (9/21) and they. were. amazing! When ordering the food the owners were SO nice in making sure I was ordering enough food for the amount of people that i wanted to have! And the day before my birthday, they called and apologized profusely for accidentally undercharging my mom who ordered for me and assured me the food would be enough for everyone. Day of, they had all my food nice and hot for me! The owners wife even helped me load the food into my car! We werent to eat for a few more hours, and even then the food was still nice and warm! The food was sooo good, everyone was complimenting how good the food was and kept asking me where I got it from. There was plenty for everyone and even for leftovers! Some of the best chinese food + service Ive had! They did amazing!! Thank you tasty asian for making my birthday a delicious one!!

I always order general tso chicken with r White rice. This chicken with the breading and sauce is A1 The breading is fresh and crispy with the sauce paired with the white rice makes it a meal worth spending your hard earned money on complements to the chief. The customer service is superb and customer friendly. The portions are large and worth the money. The environment here is super chill. I will be coming back every time I m in the area

I ordered to go here. The food is delicious and tasty as the restaurants name. I got the broccoli beef and general Tso with half fried rice and half lo mein with a spring roll. Definitely worth what I paid for. The general Tso is okay at best but next time I ll be getting the orange chicken. Definitely coming back for more!

Tasty Asian is our favorite go to mom and pop Chinese restaurant. Weve been loyal customers since their McAllen restaurant. Their plates are always generously served, the owners are friendly, and the food is pretty amazing & flavorful. Our favorite are the botanas with sweet and sour chicken, broccoli beef or mushroom chicken! They have a really good hot and sour soup that has a really good kick! Also, cant go wrong with their combination fried rice, its the bomb with tons of shrimp!! Big big plus, we always have plenty of leftovers and I LOVE that it heats up so well in the air fryer two days later for lunch! (See my pic) (Ps. Wish you guys were in McAllen).

Had the tasty Asian plate with mushroom chicken and general tso with lo mein and a spring roll .the spring roll was amazing.great flavor perfectly crispy and pretty stuffed for its size. The mushroom chicken was juicy but definitely lacked flavor sadly ,and the general tso had great flavor but the chicken was hard ,dry and stringy on the inside to the point where it kept getting stuck between my teeth hopefully it was just an off day for them cause the price is worth it for $9.50 I believe ,and the plate was stacked, very generous portions indeed. Wow.... This place is awesome!!!!! From the ambiance, the music, and the smells. Starting with a friendly welcome as soon as you walk-in. The menu has large font easy to read and understand. Had high hopes of finding a great Asian food spot in the area since I visit often. The reviews are pretty spot on about the service. Since I was a 1st timer, they explained many options on the menu and thankfully explained that their sesame chicken was different than most other spots. While appreciated, I didnt care much for the taste, but again, I appreciate the advance notice. Cant say the same, however, about the fried rice and lo mein. I found the rice pretty underwhelming and the lo mein dry.

I really like this place, but a few important things stop this from being my main Chinese food spot. On the positive end their entrees are done very well. They give generous portions and the meat is well sized. Too often I eat at places that either use really small pieces of chicken to the point where Im just eating batter OR the pieces of chicken are just way too chunky and not bite sized. The pieces of meat here are well sized and and cooked perfectly. Sweet and sour and general tso are my go-to. My main problems with this place are with their sides. They desperately need a new fried rice recipe. Their current version tastes like its just white rice that has soy sauce sprinkled over it. The rice is also not sticky enough to be eaten with chop sticks. Fried rice is a staple of these kinds of restaurants. Its half the reason I eat american-chinese food. The lo mein is not much better. Once again, just very bland. Their egg roles could also use some help. The one I got today tasted like something youd find frozen at Costco. I really hope this place survives and I very much think it can by resolving these issues.

I had to come back and post another review on a separate Gmail I have. We missed coming here due to crazy work hours I have but we recently returned a few times - Food is always so so good. Portion size is worth your money, the food is hot, fresh, and tasty, and I cannot recommend this place enough to people who havent tried it - so good! On top of that, the owners are so friendly and attentive to their customers. Please support Tasty Asian and give it a try as their food and customer service is unmatched. Moreover, I have yet to try a hot and sour soup that is better than theirs. :) Highly recommend!

The food is amazing! The service was excellent! My husband and I went and we absolutely fell in love with the food and service. Picked up a to go order from here after my parents told me about it. We ordered a botana for two and I just have to say, whoever thought of a Chinese food botana is a freaking genius. The food was good. All the things that were supposed to be crispy were perfectly crispy. The sauces were saucin. SHRIMP TEMPURA!!! CRAB RANGOON!!! Big fat eggrolls! Ok let me start off with I came to trying this place with an open mind. I love trying new places! But I would not attempt to go back myself. So the food was warm and for the platter was a good size. We got the botana (I m assuming for 4) which was 40$. The platter we got with general tso, orange chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. It came accompanied with lo mein, fried rice (lit just brown rice), 2 spring rolls, 2 crab wontons, and 2 shrimp tempuras. The lo mein is the only thing I kept eating, enough said. The orange chicken was too small and the general tso was too big. The food is what gets the stars. Moving onto the owner. Which btw did not want to provide a name( as a business owner how you tell a customer you don t need my name goes beyond me) anyway her attitude was definitely not someone I would want to do business with. And when I began to speak to her in the same way she became defensive and right away stated you are on speaker . Ok ma am I m not hiding or yelling or being rude just defending myself as a customer. I called in asking for the platter they had just posted on their Facebook page: which she then responded to what I post a lot so idk what I post( what a great business owner right?) anyway I advised it s the only post she has done today and she continues with well go to google and tell me I m like excuse me ( on the post it was just a picture and offering the platter, which to me it s already made like that) she then proceeds to saying she s anxious cuz there s a lot of people (again as a business owner you put your feelings aside and strive for the success of your business) I said that s fine but the way she was responding was not a proper way- basically excuse after excuse. Overall I read all the reviews and her responses. And not impressed. Thanks for reading this :) Btw I sent my husband for pick up and she went to tell him about the incident which why would you - business here s the food and it s whatever amount and your done. She was not at all busy* **Edit: again instead of accepting her feedback she goes more into excuses. A. Her Facebook post said come try our botana. So one is to assume it s a ready botana not pick your own. B. As an owner take some ownership of what you do and say and stop making excuses. ( I only told you it was on speaker because that s how the phone works) no maam you know what you did. C. If we would ve taken over 30 min as a restaurant you would think to call especially when you have the time frame. So no we did not take 30 min. Again excuses made up. D. If you were so busy you could ve instead said I m sorry we can not take orders over the Phone as my establishment is busy- not once did you state that only when I mentioned u we re being rude and you brought up your anxiety. (As someone with anxiety if I was ever in a position where I would compromise myself or my business I d step away)

What can I say I m so happy my favorite meal is back General Tso Shrimp. No one and I mean no one can make this meal like my friends at Tasty Asian. When I heard that they were back making great food I had to go. I had to settle for all these other Chinese restaurants but no one can compare. Ive called this place a few times over the past five months and they are very hard to contact via phone. (about once a month I make a phone call to try my luck) The one time I was answered by a person I was hung up on ( I do think it was a mistake though ). They were polite and came across as doing their job properly, so no issues with being discourteous or anything of the sort. Afterwards, calling a few more times, I was only met with the automated voice messaging system. Maybe going in person would prove a different experience?

Poor customer service and inflexibility to customers request. Women taking order was rude and temperamental. Food is mediocre and would recommend Kurai instead of this restaurant, which is just down the road. Careful with the women taking orders. She is reactive and is hard at understanding. She will refuse you service if you ask your order to be served on a plate that holds less portion than the one it is served on, despite willing to pay the original cost. Thank you for taking my consideration on wanting to eat less. And because I went a second time does not mean your food is not mediocre, at least your beef and broccoli. I wanted to give you another opportunity. I would never eat there again in my life and will not recommend it to anybody.

The food is fantastic well prepared, with bold flavors. The orange chicken was better than what you get at the chain place. The sweet and sour comes with the sauce separately, and the chicken is in nice big portions that are almost the size of chicken strips, nicely fried in an airy, crispy batter. The fried rice is subtle without a ton of extra veggies and frying oil. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely going to be a regular place for us.

Very disappointing !! We heard good things about this place and decided to try it. Checked Google and it said they closed at 4 pm. We arrived at about 3:25 pm and were told the dining room was closed and we could order to go. When told why Google said closing time was 4 pm, the waitress was VERY RUDE and told us, the door says 3:30 and that is all that matters. I responded, that it does matter especially since we drove 25 minutes to get there. She proceeded to get more and more rude to the point my husband wanted to leave without the food we had already paid for. Got home and was disappointed yet again because the food was just averaging tasting. Dont waste your time on this place, its just not worth it.

A literal hidden gem! Located right in the corner of the plaza, I was only interested because I was walking to my car and smelled it in the air. Making me crave asian food and looking up near by asian restaurants. Support small businesses I could definitely understand the other reviews but please note that they are short-staffed and locally owned by a couple. The wife is very welcoming and sweet, making sure to cater to any needs while the husband I m assuming is in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this place if you re craving panda express as this place just leans more towards the authentic side. Large portions for cheap prices. I had only ordered 1/2 an entree of general tso s chicken and didn t even come close to finishing it. The chicken was definitely a 10/10 as it was very crispy and the sauce was flavorful. It was hard to get a hold of someone on the phone. Must ve called 10x , I understand they might be crazy busy and/or understaffed but at least have someone prioritizing phone orders. Food was good but was not great. Portion size for the price was good. After all the hype I was expecting the best asian food in the rgv. Im not saying its not good it is very good but not the best. You need to try it for yourself. Flavors on the general tso s were very similar to HEB chinese kitchen but more sweet than spicy. A great restaurant in the sea of endless Mexican restaurants near our area This place has served my wife and I for the last few months-they have yet to fail us once on price, friendliness, and quality. The only down side is the place is pretty small, but thats nitpicking at its worst lol. The restaurant is modern, clean, and simple with a couple of tables and chairs to sit at while you wait. What a disappointment!!! This place is definitely overrated. The portion sizes were small, my rice and lo mein was cold, and broccoli was way under cooked. Came here because I was told that this place was the spot. My sons food was just the same as disappointing. Its definitely not worth all the hype. Should have just gone to Panda Express. Panda panda panda theres many things that definitely could have been better. The botanas look good, but thats all they do. They dont do a la carta, so you have to buy a full meal to get what you want. I guess thats why they have small portions to get you to buy more.Im so disappointed now I have to go somewhere else to buy more food so I can get full. Responding to your response to my review! First of all I wasnt upset at the fact that you dont serve a la carta thats just how what you think. And even if I did tell you everything was okay I still have the right to express my over all experience at your establishment. Why do you always have to attack a negative review??? Take it for what it is and make it better. Its not my fault that your food wasnt what I was told it would be like I said it was okay, and that it. Definitely not what I was told about this place. Even after we got done with our appetizer portions I still had to take my son to go eat somewhere else so he can get full. We went in during the lunch rush, but our order was taken pretty quickly, and there were available tables to sit for dine in. They serve very large portions, and one plate could easily be shared amongst two people. We took home two boxes because it was a lot of food! The owner was very attentive to us and made us feel welcomed even though the restaurant was full of customers, and the phone was ringing off the hook. The owner s promptness and hospitality really demonstrated how much they care and value their customers. My husband forgot his phone there, and the owner kept it safe while we returned to pick it up. Definitely recommend you try them!

I never ever rate places or make reviews, but in this case I really needed to. We drove 30 minutes and it was definitely worth it! By far the best Chinese food I ve ever had!! We got the botana for 2 with orange chicken and general chow. It fed 3 of us and we still had left over. The food is amazing!! Orange chicken is definitely a must. ORANGE chicken as it should be, general chow the best I ve ever had, low-mein is always my fave it was so amazing! The egg rolls, the shrimp!! Everything was 11/10 This place is worth the money worth the drive and worth the hype! Definitely will go again. It s two people doing it all, the owner felt so sick and closed early for that reason and even though she wasn t feeling well the customer service was great! she was beyond nice and respectful! If I could rate this place a million stars I would!! Definitely recommend

The time we walked in was 3:15, they close at 4:30, as I approached the counter a very rude woman told me they were about to close and did not want us to dine in, hows that for customer service she didnt say anything at all except that and the expression on her face was dismal. I will never attempt to go there ever. If they dont want business, then close!

Location is difficult to get to and hard to find. Cramped space, no drive-thru. 5/5 times called, no answer. If you dont get there on time or early enough and the food that you want is unavailable, they wont make more. Was told that kitchen staff makes certain amount and when its done, theres no more. Shame, was excited to eat there, but wasnt gonna enjoy ordering something I didnt want.

I would consider this place a hidden gem. I got the botana for one and it was huge. The general tso chicken were huge and pretty crispy. The crab puffs were perfect, not too much cream cheese, you could actually see the crab unlike other places. Their spring rolls werent super oily but still crispy. If anything their customer service wasnt all that great, but for the price and quality of the food I would definitely come back. Oh and I dont recommend doing take out. Their containers are messy, spilled on the ride over. Edit: I just want to clarify that the customer service was not horrible or rude at all. We just felt a little rushed, but to be fair we ordered an hour before closing, so that is on us. Additionally, I still would not recommend doing take out because the containers are a little messy. Eventhough we handled the food with care, it cannot be helped that some of the sauce spilled over. Regardless, food was amazing and I would come again.

The food is poor quality, I honestly think the rice is imitation. My wife is Asian and I have never had rice like that in my life and we eat tons of varieties of rice, there is definitely something suspicious about the rice. the service is fantastic, friendly people, clean restaurant. The food is just super cheap. Although there is plenty of it, it just isnt good quality at all. The Spring Rolls are plain awful. These guys do load a plate, and they are nice but this food ranks below McDonalds as far as quality. I sincerely dont trust the ingredients and wont eat here again. But hey, if you dont care what you put in your body then this place is for you! I saw lots of really big people eating here so they like it. Me, well, I like good quality food at reasonable prices., not piles of cheap calories to graze on. But a lot of people like that, they dont care if the food is real or not, they just wanna chow down. They do.have a couple things that taste alright but we are gonna move on due to food quality. To be fair we no longer eat at Applebees, chilis, Olive Garden and more due to them buying cheaper and cheaper food, these guys arent alone in the poor quality food world.

Kung pao chicken is ok. The sauce is flavorful, but the chicken itself lacks flavor. Same story for the General Chow. Veggie spring rolls were nasty. Ill keep driving to Dai Tung. Such a shame Edinburg doesnt have a GOOD Asian restaurant. Boy, do I miss the old Oriental Cafe!

Me and my best friend always go to new restaurants when we hang out. he sent me the menu and pics from a group were both in, called me telling me we were going to try it.. It was delicious.! The crunch on both the general tso + the sweet and sour was amazing, the fries stayed hot and fresh even though we have been eating for a while, and my drink was great. the customer service is 10/10 and so is the food, this place is definitely worth a try!
