Ive been coming to Tech Spot since 2022 and each time they have been extremely helpful and professional. When my computers fans gave out they were able to replace them and get my computer working again. Theyve also reapplied thermal paste on my computer through the years to prevent overheating. Ive been able to push my computer to the max and they have brought it back to life twice now. Additionally, the techs are very thorough and explain what is wrong and send pictures of any components that are damaged. Ive always felt like I understand what is going to be fixed and why. Further, the technicians also send photos of what was fixed on the computer so Im never in the dark as to whether or not the problem was actually resolved. Tech spot goes above and beyond to make sure the customer understands what is being done, provide photo proof of the work they did on your computer, and advise you on how to take preventative care of your laptop to prevent further issues. I highly recommend them for any service needs!

They do not know anything about how tech works they get simple items like laptops or small broken hardware. Do not come here they will most likely break your hardware. Go somewhere more legit please. Do not trust your electronics here. They broke a main component of mine and lied about it. They said they had done nothing other than remove a cooler. They are liars and bad technicians if you can even call them that. Go somewhere else please, do not support liars and frauds.

As a first time customer I was truly impressed and appreciative with the outcome of taking my sister s computer to Tech Spot. Prior to taking the computer, it was a slow & old computer that wasn t really working. Jeremy is a smart and very well educated man. The way he explained in detail what was wrong with the computer and how he made it safe for me and my family to use. I believed the computer wasn t going to be good to use anymore since someone hacked into it, but Jeremy reassured me. He set up multiple programs that are very helpful and good for my computer to last longer. After the visit my computer was faster then when we first bought it, it would take multiple seconds to load into a different tab, but now we can load 3 to 4 different tabs at once. Extremely recommended to stop by Tech Spot, their business is for helping the people in the RGV community and to make computers safe for use.

Great quality work and most importantly excellent customer experience. They were able to pull a Hail Mary and repair a very over used and screen damaged laptop into an almost new and basically life proof Laptop . Although it did require some patience for the process , the quality was definitely worth the wait . Technician and his team are also very good at keeping all customers updated with the status of work orders , but anyone who goes here just be mindful that this isn t GeekSquad at BestBuy where you re just another customer to them, this is a local owned shop with people who actually Care about their customers and want to give you a product that will last you a lifetime, and to do that you just have to give it some time and let them work their magic on your devices and when it s all said and done the end result is worth it .

I had a laptop that needed a coding fix and a internal clean up. The tech was very detailed with what s needed to be done and did a detailed analysis of what he will do and how my laptop will be once completed. And always had great tips for my other laptops as well.

Little over a year ago, I brought in my laptop for repair. Paid up front and was later told it wasnt repairable. I then had a warranty for in store credit for maintenance service for my other main computer for 1 year. I felt like I didnt get any value for the big investment I did with this shop at the time. So I came back after my warranty expired by a couple of weeks. I brought my desktop pc for simple cleaning, and not only did the owner clean my pc after my warranty expired. He saved it from dying due to a cpu heat sink that wasnt properly mounted. He also extended my warranty another year and gave me some suggestions on how to upgrade my setup down the line. It was really cool for the owner to patch up our relationship like that. My experience leads me to believe that he makes sure his clients leaves satisfied. I do see myself doing business with TechSpot again in the future.

Thank you Tech Spot! I was looking to fix my computer and had called several places until I found Tech Spot, when I called Tech Spot I automatically knew it was the place to go. The person I spoke too was very knowledgeable and explained everything even though I was unsure of my options. Not everyone takes the time to explain and help you understand technical information before paying for the service but Tech Spot did. My computer was fixed and is now working better than before. Having major or simple tech issues don t look elsewhere and stop by Tech Spot. I was looking to unlock and update my computer and Tech Spot not only did they unlocked and updated my computer but went above and beyond by adding an antivirus and thermal paste to make sure my computer would not over heat. Currently writing this review from the computer they fixed and I can say that its working way better than before, it s like having a new computer all over again. I would definitely recommend Tech Spot 100% to everyone having any sorts of tech issues. Tech spot is not the only one but is definitely the best. I first met Jeremy with Tech Spot over 8 years ago when I worked at a law office. Tech Spot was the IT guy for this office and not once was there a negative outcome when it come to fixing, upgrading or resolving any type of issues with the office computer system. i was a recent customer (i meant to do this review earlier but Ive been busy, finally have time today) I asked because I just had such a minor issue with my computer, and as someone who really doesnt know much about computer components, I didnt want to mess with it too much, and wanted to find someone I trust. Thats when i ran into Jeremy. This guy was such a cool guy and having 15 years of experience really gave me the confidence and trust to believe his experience. At first seeing my PC, he was already able to figure out what it was instantly, was able to fix it same day, and able to give me a call back. He had also let me know about a minor issue on start up that i didnt even know was fixable. Truly reliable and will go in depth to help you as much as you can. I fully trust this shop and will definitely come back if i ever need any upgrades or issues fixed. I went to this spot late October. They offered me amazing communication, service and were able to squeeze me in time to get my setup ready for work earlier than 2 weeks. (Typically give them 2 weeks and that pc you give will be brand new) -communication 100% -customer service 100% -actual service 1000% These guys will go above and beyond in getting the maintenance and work needed for your pc. Jeremy is the brains, and William is literally a god when it comes to working and fixing up your setup. Give them a call or text them with your issue. They ll try to get a hold of you. Examine your problem and take the time to tell you what s needed for it or even upgrades needed. Def go to this place. They also specialize in gaming rigs and systems. Which is what they worked on mine. Since I have a cyber gaming pc with intel core and an RTX 3060. So they can definitely work in the bigger job loads.

I broke my screen on a MacBook Pro and was given a tentative quote of $400-$600 from GeekSquad (plus $80 quote fee), with a three-week turnaround date. TechSpot quoted $300 for free, with an anticipated one-week turnaround date, so I was ready to give a 5-star review immediately. At the initial meeting, the technician was very thorough and detailed, which I greatly appreciated (Plus, the office is really cool, tbh!). The reason I dropped my rating to 3 stars, is because of lack of communication afterwards. You pay the amount up front, so youre kind of taking a risk. I waited for an update the first week, but never heard from anyone, so I called myself. I was asked to send a text with my information, and that someone would reach out to me afterwards. I sent the information along, but still nobody reached out. I followed up again the next day, and was told that someone would reach out. I did get a call back, but when I inquired about my product, they let me know that there was some delay with the shipping of the screen. Again, I had been told I would have the product back within a week, and I was told about the delay after a week, with nobody actively letting me know this - had I not reached out, I doubt anyone would have called. I gave it another handful of days, then called again, for an update. Similar process of me calling a couple of times before getting an update - update was to tell me that it would take another week. Ultimately, I did get the product back and the new screen works beautifully (although it no longer holds itself up if angled at less than 90 degrees, but thats not too big of a deal for me). However, the turnaround ended up being three weeks instead of the initially quoted one week. Again, this was the same as Geek Squad, so I would have been fine waiting the three weeks, but I wish they had overestimated the turnaround time rather than trying to underestimate it. This delay, paired with the poor communication after dropping off the product, is what kept me from giving a 5-star review.

I called several places before I decided to take my laptop to Tech Spot. I decided to take it there based on the reviews. I was impressed by the knowledge the tech displayed when I dropped it off. Everything was documented accurately as far as the issues I had with the laptop and what I should expect in repairs, costs. Tech explained issues that are common with my type of laptop and how I should care for it to avoid further problems with it. College student here, 10/10 experience, since the initial conversation I ve had with them it has been complete transparency, right off the bat I was told prices and timelines of their processes. Super nice and professional and extremely FLEXIBLE! Also didn t make it seem like ur a burden for asking questions or updates. My MacBook screen cracked so I went to Best Buy to get it fixed and they quoted me $600 to repair the screen and I would have to send it off. I called other places nearby to see if I got could find a better offer but LITERALLY no one could give me a price for the repair nor an estimate. I called techspot, and they very quick to help me and set me to up to get my computer fixed. Definitely recommend!

Tech Spot has been amazing through the process of fixing my MacBook Pro. My MacBook had some liquid damage from a spill, and it wouldn t turn on anymore. I can confidently say that this is the place where you must stop by when your computer has some issues. My laptop computer hinge was broken that led me to visit this place. What really impressed me was that the tech explained every details about what he is going to do, what is limitations of that approach, what can be done on my ends. Even he identified another issue in my computer, and suggested a solution. Very professional and honest. I give the five stars for this place. This business is upfront and honest, they will not try to swindle you. I forgot the guys name, but he was very attentive and helpful. Answered all of my questions and explained the price for me. Before coming here I went to best buy and they quoted my repair anywhere from $300-600 with a nonrefundable fee of $90. Meanwhile this small businesses quoted me at $150 for the repair only. But they rebuilt a computer for us cheaper than purchasing a new one. This place is great. They helped me transport all my old data and files into a new hard drive for a good deal. Before the transfer was done, the technician even talked me through all the steps in this process, giving very descriptive insight into exactly he was gonna do and even showing me what parts he was gonna replace. Additionally, nothing was sugarcoated: it was very obvious what could go wrong and he included warnings on any possible pitfalls, which is what you want to know when someone is repairing your work computer. Honestly, do recommend going here to check out your computer if anything is damage or broken down. The tech repair is exceptional and is very informative with everything you need to know about your computer. He breaks down by showing you what your computer might have and recommends you what to do next. He goes by appointment, which is good because if you ever need anything else or have any questions he will have them answered for you. Also, if you do not understand he will try to explain to you more specific so you can understand. My MacBook all of a sudden had this squiggly lines in the screen after 5 years of using it and he told me what the issue was and why it could have started it. I am glad and have yet still need to fix it but he recommended me on where I can by the part for my MacBook Pro 2016. I will for sure be back so he can fix my computer once my part gets here.
