You smell the great service since the moment you come in! The lady who hosted us was increidible nice! I will not grant 5 stars on food only because I did not see any Michellin star in the place but the experience and the food was great!! I highly recommend it!! the ambience is very chic and the music quiet and nice. About the food I can say that they have a couple of combinations very interesting! the salmon with brussells is a great team! also we had the pork belly appetizer and the crab fried balls. It is a place not cheap but worth it every penny! Parking: Plenty of parking space but it looks that If the restaurant gets full, could be some parking issues due to interior space is big!!

We ve been here multiple times and it s always delicious. Today we stopped in for a quick brunch and had a wonderful table outside. Our waitress was excellent and took care of us even as we kept ordering drinks and several appetizers. We stayed for a few drinks and a long conversation and it was very pleasant.

Everything about this experience was absolutely fantastic! We came there for my birthday and they had a table reserved and ready for us. Service was impeccable, price point it was extremely reasonable especially for this Sunday brunch champagne special and the Houston restaurant weeks. We were extremely well taken care of as well when we unintentionally complained about the elk chops. We were simply remarking that the bone on them were very small and the management then took as though we were upset and it eventually led to the bringing an additional elk job even though thats not what we wanted. But theyre so concerned about making sure that their guests are well taken care of it was worth mentioning! Love this place and definitely will be back! Parking: So parking is somewhat limited here in the immediate parking lot. You have to go to the back side and then to the right and park behind Dickinson BBQ. Kid-friendliness: Children are allowed here. But it is definitely a fine dining restaurant combined with a few bars. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp to enter the building in the front.

I took my wife here hoping to show her a good time, as the restaurant seemed high-end. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall experience. When we walked in, no one greeted us, and the bartender gave us a dismissive look not because we werent dressed appropriately, as I was wearing a suit and she wore a dress, but it seemed they just didn t care to be helpful. We had to figure out what to do on our own, so we ended up seating ourselves in a corner of the restaurant. I ordered the chicken alfredo, which was supposed to have a Creole twist, but it was completely bland. Our waiter never asked for feedback, so I didn t bother mentioning it. The food was edible but definitely not worth the price. It felt like we were paying for the atmosphere, which is admittedly the only thing this restaurant has going for it. The service was mediocre at best. I usually tip at least 20%, but I was so disappointed with this experience that I only left a 15% tip. For a restaurant in this price range, I expected much more. Ive experienced better service at a Chilis, where I pay a fraction of the cost compared to what we spent here.

I ordered the Alfredeaux with Blackened Chicken and Shrimp & it was delicious! Inside the restaurant is fairly fancy with lovely chandeliers & candle lighting on the tables. Outside is a deck on the water with live music on weekends I assume and is a very relaxing atmosphere. Parking: Parking is combined with the restaurant next door and is behind both buildings.

Impeccable delicious gourmet food from Chef Frank. On point pours from top notch bartender Jessica. World class atmosphere. Beyond classy dinning to swinging in the bar on swings. The risotto the right way and Al dente is the only way. Chef Frank really knows how to cook. If only I would open up a restaurant- I would steal him from his place. Beyond perfect. From a Nola girl who knows food this place is beyond perfect! Take my word a redhead Sicilian/Irish from Nola knows food. Love me some Chef Frank Dietary restrictions: Just let the chef know- they can have you covered!!!

While this place exudes fine dining, my experience was not what I expected. I tried the crab beignets and while they are more hush puppy, Ive had several like them at other cajun outfits of the same quality but a lower price tag. My dish was the shrimp grits and while they were good, I think I prefer my own recipe. The sauce was loaded with pepper, the shrimp had all the tails still on them (theyre a pain to remove when smothered in sauce), and the grits were smooth but boring. While I enjoyed the addition of mushroom and spinach to the sauce, they didnt add much flavor overall. Ill stick to my cheap whole in the wall cajun haunts before returning to a place thats more polished than unique.

Normally this place is fantastic but not on this visit. It was Mothers Day and I could not have been more disappointed. First I made a reservation weeks in advance because this was my daughters first Mothers Day and we wanted it to be special. When we arrived at the time they asked us to arrive, they informed us there were no seats for us. I had informed them in advance that we needed 3 adults and a high chair for the baby. The hostess just said we dont have seating for you. Of course I asked for the manager. He came out and stated yes, thats right we dont have seating for you. At this point. I was very upset and asked them ok, now what? They shrugged their shoulders at me. I said, do you want us to go away? Is that what you are saying? Finally the manager said well let me see and disappeared. He came back to escort us to a makeshift table stuck in a walkway. Then he said we dont have a high chair, but you can use a booster seat. What???? He wanted us to set an 8 month old in a booster seat. We said no! I could go on and on... you get the idea. It was a horrible experience. The food was not good that day. We know the food well, so we can compare. The only thing good that day was our waitress. She tried really hard to make things better. My advice, just done go here on any special day, they just dont care.

I went today for mothers day brunch, which was pretty busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone I came in contact with, had great attitudes. The food was pretty bad. I ordered chicken and waffles, the chicken was incredibly under seasoned and dry. I took one bite and left it. The waffle was decent, eggs were decent, ordered 2 over medium and yolk was busted.. someone else at the table ordered eggs, hash browns and English muffin.. the hash browns were scary.. literally looked like mashed potatoes with some stuff in them.. and they used a scoop and just plopped it on the plate.. I am hoping the food situation was because of the holiday and they were getting slammed .. but staff was still amazing!!

Went for a wedding dinner, walked in and was greeted and once I mentioned I was here with the wedding they just said oh its over there they did not walk us to the room they just pointed. I ordered a medium steak which was well done and dry, ordered some A1 sauce which they were out of... yesss a steak place out of A1!! Waitstaff did not ask if our steak was cooked properly and our table had to keep waiving them down. The mashed potatoes were great, very delicious and the sweet tea was not good at all. The appetizer were some crabmeat balls and they placed a plate of maybe 10 of them on a table of 15 people.. I asked the waitress if each table gets 1 plate or how does that work because 5 or 6 of us didnt get any and she just dismissed me, 5 minutes later she came back with the other tables left over appetizer.. The room was full every chair was used, 13 people didnt show up which we were glad because there would have been no room for them but the couple still had to pay for their plates, Ive heard that restaurants do this but they at least have the room to sit the people that dont show up, in this case the room was at capacity and there was no way 13 more people could have fit in there... BUT! They still charged for those people knowing that theyre a steak restaurant but have no damm A1!

First time experience, 4/2/2024 for twin granddaughters 21st birthday. Mr. Geter and his team was amazing. Five stars for ambiance: Marais is a surprisingly beautiful and elegant restaurant in Dickinson! There are three distinct areas that offer different experiences; ours was elegant and on par with the finest restaurants in Houston or New Orleans. Five stars for service: the staff was so nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Five stars for food: the oysters marais, bourbon red fish and yard bird with collards and mashed potatoes did not disappoint. It was an experience I will not forget and will definitely patronize again. Thanks Mr. Geter and team.

Doug was so great to work with! He not only executed the party flawlessly, but he helped to ensure that my anxiety was kept at bay. Brandice was the lead server the evening of the party and she was the ultimate professional and added so much value to an already amazing evening! The service was great. Food was good. A few observations: The young white male bartender wiped the hair out of his eyes about every 30 seconds, then proceeded to touch glasses and make drinks. Kinda gross... The three managers work hard, but the wait staff is in bow tie and vest. The general manager is in business casual, the bar manager is in a Marais fishing shirt, and assistant manager is in house wear with a phone in her hand. The resturant appears to want to be upscale but patrons appear to be able to wear whatever they want to dinner, as well as the managers.

My husband and I went here for an early Valentines Day dinner. We ordered the most expensive steak on the menu which is about $70 and it was overcooked. Sent it back and then they weigh undercooked it. The manager did come out to check on the steak after it had been sent out but with her attitude and arms crossed the whole time, we just didnt feel like we should have to work this hard for our meal. The pasta was a little Bland and missing salt. Sure salt is up to the consumer and wasnt the big issue but obe of many. We were both very very disappointed with the food, and this was not the first time we didnt like it but it was the worst time. Unfortunately for the price that we had to pay for dinner here we will never be back. A burnt steak should not have happened twice for a 500$ meal.

Went for the jazz brunch. Good food, but the buffet is way overpriced. $40 per person? I guess if all you eat are the king crab legs it might work. Two of us split the tab for a la carte brunch and we paid about $25/person. That included our meals and the relatively nouveau practice of charging $10/bottle for cheap champagne with a small amount of OJ in a separate vessel. For me, the little side bottle of OJ seemed like we were being shorted on the OJ. OTOH as a result I did discover that I needed very little OJ compared to what I had been using for ages. So its win-win. Thanks for the lesson. We also felt pressure to finish up and leave. I think that was probably because it was getting busy and customers were waiting. Nevertheless, its irritating, and the waiting guests are blaming you for the delay when actually Its poor planning by the restaurant. I will go back. My remarks about feeling rushed are colored by my experience elsewhere in the world. In that sense, Marais has no worse service than any American restaurant.

I normally love Marais. Tonight was a total disappointment. My scallop with risotto dish came out with everyone else in our party, but the risotto was crunchy. I sent it back and was told the chef likes to serve it crunchy. Crunchy risotto is uncooked risotto. I asked for something else but everyone was already done eating so they offered to pit it in a box for me. Didnt happen. Also the waiters did not refill waters. Im super disappointed in them tonight. Totally expected more for the $500 I spent tonight.

Took our well-travelled LA son and daughter-in-law here and they were amazed. The Malbec from Haak Winery was terrific and at $28 a bottle, a real steal by downtown comparison. The steak knife presentation was unique even in their experience. My Tower Salad was totally filling and perfect for not falling off my diet. Saddle up or swing in the bar before dinner while sipping on an avacado margarita. Sounds scary. Tastes divine! Thanks Maria for excellent service. Moderately priced too. Were telling everyone and will be back next week! Parking: Tricky layout

Sunday lunch at a local restaurant is a regular outing for me and my family. This past Sunday we chose to dine here. We were not expecting them to be serving a buffet style lunch. Items to choose off a menu were very limited. I have a special needs brother who delights in fried shrimp. Fried shrimp was not on the buffet. Management did accommodate and make him some fried shrimp for which we were very appreciative! However the rest of us were stuck with a $40/plate for the buffet. I chose the prime rib. It was cold, tough, and had very little flavor. So I switched gears and went to the fried fish...the temperature was fine, but many of the pieces I picked up were undercooked. They did have some mustard greens that were very good! Since the prime rib and fish didnt work out, I tried the fried chicken. The fried Chicken was a crash and burn as well. I was very disappointed in the cost to food quality ratio. To top it all off they had a whole selection of desserts available...few of the desserts were made in house. They looked and tasted like they came from a local grocery store and were plated for appearance. Very disappointing. However the fried shrimp my brother had looked very good! And we do very much appreciate them for accommodating him with the fried shrimp! Outside of that it was a very disappointing and expensive dining experience. The service and ambiance is definitely fantastic though! Theres no doubt about that! I have mixed feelings, but may go try it again when they actually have a dinner menu to order from.

If you want buffet brunch this place has excellent choices for you. If you are not the buffet type of person person (none in our group was), then on Sunday you will not have healthy menu options. I came for a salad (cant eat meat or dairy), had to eat pancakes as my best option. I was not able to get refills on my tiny coffee, staff never brought one persons coffee, errors in menu items ordered. Sunday is buffet centered, very busy. Very cute place with a nice deck. Great prices on mimosas.

Im very disappointed. The buffet efficiency is poor. Omelet/Bananas Foster Station was too small and slow. Need to double serving area and staff. The rest of the buffet was cramped and also slow. The fried chicken I had was bloody. By the time you served yourself and returned to your table, your food was cold. All this and the prices were higher. Sadly, we wont be returning.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is Cajun based with live jazz music located on the bayou. A little flare of New Orleans right in the heart of Dickinson, TX. The buffet was well done and changes slightly every week. The big hits were the bacon, hashbrowns, and the seafood Gumbo. They crab legs looked good, but were slightly dried out from the heat of the warmer. Lots of good choices and wide array of selections; prime beef, shrimp cocktail, fresh salmon, fried catfish, Mac & cheese and collard greens. They also had a nice selection of cake balls and brownies for dessert. We will be back soon! Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly option buffets

Just came from eating brunch which had been our favorite meal on a Sunday at this establishment until today. We usually come hear once to twice a month without any incidents until today I ate the cold boil shrimp after eating one I noticed a rotten odor I thought that it wasnt anything to it. Picked up another shrimp and smelled it. It was rotten. Wife went and told manager he told cheff which in returned never apologized to me or anything. The manager not once addressed this issues with me the guy that ate the rotten shrimp. I spent a 120.00 on two meals there, ALL THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR Was a aplogy that was it, not a free soda nor anything Free even though it should have been. Dont know if we will ever come back. I almost threw up at the table thats how spoiled the shrimp was that I had eaten, from that point I could not continue on to enjoy the buffet that I was paying for, felt very disregarded by the manager he needs to be retrained in how to handle his guests. I WOULD BE VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT EATING THIER SEA FOOD ITS OBVIOUS THAT IT WASNT FRESH AS THEY CLAIMED IT WAS.
