First time here, and the food is amazing! Ordered jerk wings, pineapple wings, chicken patty, jerk chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, and cabbage, and it was all delicious! The goat was like butter, and the patty was very flaky. My wife ordered the rum cake and said there was more than enough rum. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was great but the service was very slow but I think it may have been due to all the ppl stacked there through TikTok. They seem to be a mom and pop shop with little employees. Not sure if they have the capacity for so many ppl coming in all at once. Also I originally came to dine in but it s a TO GO Restaurant. They have seating but probably for the wait as it s made to order as well. All in all for the situation I would go back but I would call in my order.

Plaxed my order at 5:51, wanted ox tails and they were out, also of the rice and peas...ordered jerk wings(grilled) amd a side of cabbage with rum cake and a drink...32 dollars, waited until about 620, then the waitress says they dont have anymore grilled wings and would I like fried...sure I guess, waited another 40 minutes, finally got my order...the wings were decent, the cabbage was bland and the rum cake was just ok...not worth the money, I really wanted to like it, but the service, lack of communication and the quality of food just aint it...

Awful Experience at Fire SIDE Kitchen and Bar I went in and ordered a jerk chicken plate at 5:54 PM. They were out of rice & peas, so I opted for steamed rice with cabbage instead. Then I watched the next guest order two oxtail plates with rice & peas and get their food in 45 minutes WTF! I also ordered 4 beef patties and 2 chicken patties, told it would take 35 minutes. At 6:54 PM, I asked for an update and it was told another 20 minutes. I requested a refund for the patties, which took 15 minutes to process. I waited another 15 for my jerk chicken, only to find out the kitchen was backed up. Meanwhile, I saw several people eat in and get their food in under an hour. When I asked for a full refund, it took another 10 minutes. No one offered me a drink or even an apology for the wait. The management, who could give refunds, didnt say a word to me while I sat right next to the kitchen door. Im never coming back and I dont recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money! Horrible experience at Fire SIDE Kitchen and Bar I walked in and ordered a plate of adobo chicken at 5:54 p.m. They were out of rice and peas, so I opted for steamed rice with cabbage. Then I watched the next guest order two plates of oxtail with rice and peas and receive their food within 45 minutes. What the hell! I also ordered 4 beef burgers and 2 chicken burgers, and was told it would take 35 minutes. At 6:54pm, I asked for an update and was told another 20 minutes. I requested a refund for the burgers, which took 15 minutes to process. I waited another 15 minutes for my marinated chicken, only to discover that the kitchen was jammed. Meanwhile, I saw several people come in and get their food in less than an hour. When I requested a full refund it took another 10 minutes. No one offered me a drink or even an apology for the wait. The management, who could give refunds, didnt say a word to me as I sat by the kitchen door. I will never return and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Save time and money!

Don t go unless you want to wait hours for your food. They don t offer you nothing while you wait. Mind you it was only 3 people in there. Nobody just cant open a restaurant with service like that. All the good reviews is probably from people they know. I had high hopes for this place but never again. It s other Caribbean spots with better service and food

Tried the curry chicken and jerk chicken. The curry was a little spicy, which is cool with me. The jerk chicken without the sauce is not spicy, but it was still juicy. The jerk sauce added to the chicken made it spicy. If you like spicy food, this jerk chicken with the sauce is the way to go. Rice and peas made with coconut and the cabbage was not over cook both had good flavor and taste. This place gave a lot of food

Dumbfounded by the reviews. I waited just over an hour for my food. Id highly recommend ordering ahead. Oxtails were mostly bone and I had a few bones with no meat. Oxtails had no gravy like traditional Jamaican food. It was more of a beef broth. Fries tasted undercooked. The rice & peas were not good. They tasted salty. Most Jamaican food traditionally comes with plantains but this didnt.

I ate at this place yesterday and how it was advertised on Facebook that bought me there wasnt true. The tables and chairs that they have in there arent comfortable at all. The chairs are to high and their not good for the circulation for your legs if you stay awhile. I just think they need to change those tables and chairs. The guy that works their and cook the food was very nice. On the other hand the lady that takes orders is very short when you try to ask her a question she act like was so busy. They dont serve your food on plates they give you to go containers when you eat there. 25.00 dollars a plate for curry chicken and other items I need a real plate and silver ware.

I decided to try this after seeing multiple social media posts about this restaurant. As you walk in the restaurant, you are greeted by the sounds of the islands. There is also very nice artwork and paintings on the walls. As an art lover, I always love details like that. The customer service is above average. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, and the menu was explained to me. I ordered the jerk chicken, peas and rice, cabbage, and plaintains. The food was hot and well presented. Chicken was tasty and well cooked, but I wouldve liked it a tad bit more spicy. Cabbage and plaintains were amazing! Cabbage was so flavorful, and the plaintains were perfectly cooked. The only thing that really missed was the peas and rice. They were bland and dry. Definitely will eat here again as I am glad to have another option of food in the area that isnt fried chicken or BBQ.

On behalf of my father: The oxtails were fall off the bone tender but the cuts were so small you could barely taste the flavor. I would rather have gotten 2-3 whole oxtail instead of these oxtail chips. I paid $25 and got a side of oxtail, an entree of dry rice and peas and a side of cabbage. Such small portions for a high price. I was still hungry afterwards, but overall it was okay I don t have to try them again I d go to South Dallas Personally what I ordered was decent, I would love if the jerk chicken came tossed in the jerk sauce instead of on the side so that when you put it in the plate the sauce would drip into the sides and spread the flavor. And the portions a little bigger, but unlike my father I will return cause one visit isn t enough to write a place off. It s very cute inside and I like the music when Greedys isn t at full volume.

The (non-alcoholic) drink options are worth exploring because they are not commonly found in the area. The vibe is chill, I ll probably hang out the next time. Overall, happy to have Fire Side Kitchen in the neighborhood! Highly recommended!

Im Brooklyn born, with Trinidad in my blood so i had to think carefully about this review. I have expectations for curry goat and this wasnt it. It was flavorful, not quite tender, missing gravy and a whopping $25. The regularly priced $2.50 Ting drink, is priced above $7 here. WOW! For thyme lovers (if there are any) there was alot in the curry goat. Ive had the oxtails from here which id recommend over the curry goat. The rent must be high as hell, cause the prices are.

I recently visited Fireside Bar and Grill for the first time and I must say, the food was outstanding. It was easily the one of the best Jamaican I ve had in a while. The dishes were well-prepared and not overly greasy, which I really liked. They also offer the option to add your own sauce or gravy to the bowl, which is a nice touch. I had the curry goat, and it was absolutely delicious, fresh and flavorful. I also tried the beef patties, which were fantastic. The vibe inside the restaurant was great too, with beautiful hand drawn paintings of Bob Marley and pictures of famous Jamaicans the walls. It added a nice cultural touch to the overall aesthetic. The place is neat, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. Ive been there twice already and I definitely plan to return to try more items from their menu. Highly recommend Fireside Bar and Grill for anyone looking for a great Jamaican dining.

I was so excited to try this place, now I wish I hadnt. Spent over $80 , and the only entree that was decent was the escovich. Im confused why the fries were placed in the oil with the fish? The rice and peas had no flavor and was extremely dry. The jerk chicken was also very dry and the jerk sauce was very sweet, which Im not used to. The oxtails were fall off the bone, but they lacked flavor. The cabbage had no flavor. The jerk wings didnt taste jerk, it was more so a bbq sauce. Unfortunately, I wont be back. This taste like a normal soul food restaurant, not Jamaican.

We ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken with cabbage and I ordered the Curry Shrimp extra extra spicy with 2 sides rice & beans and their cabbage. The food was seasoned to perfection! The only miss for me was the cabbage. It was not seasoned very well. The restaurant is decorated very nice with great pictures. The painted image of Bob Marley and the textured Fire Side wall decor were created by their female Chef! The Jamaican Lemonade was amazing! The restaurant has seating, but it technically is more of a to-go restaurant. Your meal will be served in to-go packaging. Welcome to DeSoto! Definitely will be supporting this business!

This restaurant is nicely renovated to reflect Jamaican style. While the beef patty is flavorful, the opportunity to enjoy jerk chicken was missed - as the company was out of chicken wings. The cabbage also lacked flavor and depth. I look forward to giving the oxtails a try.

Ordered Jerk Chicken, cabbage, rice and Peas, and plaintains. It was a good flavor, just my rice and peas seemed like the day before or the bottom of the pan... dry-dry-dry, and my portion of cabbage was so minimal like he was afraid to give it to me. I will try again since they are new, and close.
