I got married here and they served us food that tasted like it was pre-cooked, store bought. Then they served us alcohol that they had left over from another wedding and kept the remaining while we still paid for the full amount that wasn t used. The venue is pretty but honesty and integrity should surpass all in my book.

My husband and I were married on July 22,2018. We were very disappointed in the management of the BVEC. Specifically Roberta. First of all the day before the wedding we were able to go in and decorate. It was a 110 degrees outside and we were not allowed to turn on the ac until the day of the wedding. We paid over $8000.00 for this venue. I think we paid enough to have ac for an extra day. We were there all day with sweat pouring off of us. My husband and I showed up a few minutes after 9am and I went home to take a nap at 330pm. When I came back for the rehearsal at 6pm my family was still working. We were not allowed to open windows, doors or curtains. And were told not to turn on any lights that weren t already on because we could short something out. It was miserable. We were never offered the use of the ac not even for a extra cost. The food at the wedding did not taste as it did at the tasting we attended prior to the wedding. Especially when we paid nearly $38 per person for 100 people. And being that it was already paid for I saw no reason why we couldn t take home the left overs. And everyone of my guests from my mother,my grandmother,my children, nieces and nephews along with friends complained about how rude Roberta was to them. By being bossy, raising her voice, demanding things be done on her time table and by her standards. I had people get up and leave because they were so aggravated. My mother was so upset she asked several family members and myself not to leave her alone with her. This made things even harder for me because I felt like I was having to play referee between Roberta and my family. I was unable to get the pictures I wanted with my family. And I can never go back and get those now. Because Roberta said only immediate family were allowed in the pictures. That wasn t her call. And my mother was trying to help my grandmother up with the use of a walker. She was shaking due to her Parkinson s disease. And Roberta stood at the table until they got up. She told them they had to go now. The venue itself was beautiful and I was so looking forward to having a wonderful wedding experience. But all the drama Roberta caused ruined a lot of our experience. When I asked about being 4 chairs and 4 place settings short. Along with the ribbons that go across the tables. Being a mirror short and not having four votives on each table. Not to mention the white drapes on the dance floor. I talked to Tiffany the wedding planner. She went straight to Roberta. Roberta came out and said that I never asked for these things. I reminded her that yes I did at our last meeting and I have copies of their notes. I was also suppose to have a G in the middle of the dance floor and there should have had the colored platters under each place setting but I knew better to say anything else. I was told that the white drapes and the letter on the dance floor was free. Because if there was a charge I didn t want it. Later Roberta told us that she gave it to us for free to help us out. That was not true. She also told me that she would not charge us for the one glass of white wine for the ceremony or for the two glasses of champagne for the cake cutting. But she did and we paid it. She also accused my mother and my son of trying to sneak in alcohol. My mother does not drink. She is very religious.Everyone that did drink bought alcohol from the BVEC. My mother did have some empty bottles from France that she wanted to use for a photo booth but after having to deal with Roberta she took them back home. While setting up a photo booth Roberta came over and acused my mother of scratching up her cement floor. This did not occur. My niece immediately started taking pictures of all of the scratches all over the floor. This is a painted cement floor. There are several people that plan to review this venue as well. I will not refer anyone to use this venue as long as the same people continue to manage it. Regretfully, Mark & Ramona Gordon

Best Wedding ever. I grew up in a catering household and I knew weddings were tough from the outside. But inside the flurry of everything... we were lucky we had Roberta and Cindy. My wife (sounds great to say) and I thought we could approach this with a laid back attitude. Turns out you forget about certain things like a garter belt!! Cindy crafted an AMAZING butterfly garter, 20 minutes before the toss. They kept us on schedule the best they could (so many photos to take!) and worked with us to make the day perfect. And DJ Jimmy was able to keep us all on the dance floor where I had a dance off with my father! Pre-production detail: A+ Recommendations and Ideas: A+ Constant Communication: A+ Food: A+ (worked with us to make gluten-free wedding!) Friendliness: A+ My wife (soooo good to say) and I already plan to come back for our anniversary and soak in that amazing honeymoon garden tub. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much!

This place is a venue for formal events. My daughters prom was held here. It has a long narrow gravel and dirt road, barely having room for two cars to pass each other. The parking lot is clay, dirt, and gravel. I cant imagine trying to drive or walk in heels and long dresses in rainy weather, as I would imagine it would be very muddy.. It was hard to walk in heels on the gravel. My daughter dropped an earring in the gravel and lost it. The long drive is lit up by lamps, but many were out, making it hard to see, and the exit road isnt marked at all. Most people couldnt find it, got stuck turning in to the propane tank area, had to back up, exit against inbound traffic, and caused a traffic flow problem. Without GPS, the venue is a bit hard to find, and has no turn-off signs to help you from either the freeway or service road. And the actual turnoff to the gravel road is very easy to miss, especially in the dark. It does have small gates with buffalo on them, and if you know to look for the lights, you can find it. But the road that the turnoff is on is very narrow and bad, and oncoming traffic blinded us, making it hard to see the turnoff. Make sure you and all guests know the difficulties, and leave extra early to avoid delays for your event. I didnt go inside, but my daughter said it was extremely plain. Just a chandalier. Granted her school could have decorated better, and would have been responsible for most of the decor, but my daughter said the overall atmosphere of the venue inside was merely acceptable and too plain. She said that no one she spoke to about it was impressed. It does have an outside covered gazebo and faux bridge lit up somewhat with white Xmas lights for taking pictures. And if you want to walk back down the gravel/dirt road in your fancy clothes and shoes, braving traffic cuz there are no sidewalks, there is a little pond area with ducks that you could take pictures near. Just dont fall in!

Great place! The downstairs was very spacious which was great for our dance, along with a good amount of chairs and tables, and a quieter upstairs area. The weather was perfect, which allowed for a nice night to sit around the table outside under the stars and the warm Texas humidity. Plenty of little details made for a wonderful night that wont be forgotten! The seclusion of the location allowed for the stars to be more visible, creating a wonderful night. Id say we were pretty lucky with the weather as it had been cloudy all day. Besides the outside, the lighting indoors was nice. It had a simple abiance of blue and warm tones that were wonderfully combined. The restrooms were well kept, and in great condition. The metal stair case added to the over all rustic feel. The gazebo, when it is lit up is a beautiful place to relax for a moment, take pictures, and talk with friends. The comfy leather chair, in the upstairs almost put me to sleep also! Great place would 10/10 recommend

My husband and I had actually spent our entire engagement planning our wedding at another venue. Unfortunately, three days before our wedding day, we learned that the Grapevine Lake flooding had made that location inaccessible for our wedding. We were scrambling to find a venue that could accommodate us on such short notice, and I am thankful beyond words that we found Buffalo Valley. My sister had actually gotten married here the year before, so having our wedding at Buffalo Valley was even more sentimental. The entire situation started to feel familiar, since my sister went through a similar experience when the ballroom at Buffalo Valley caught fire days before her wedding. Just as they did for her, the staff did everything they could and more to make sure our wedding was as close to what we had been planning as possible. Angela was one of our many saviors that week. She was wonderful in answering all of our questions and working with our budget. We went from thinking we might have to reschedule our wedding to having everything figured out in just one meeting with Angela. I was immediately relieved, and so grateful that she was able to make all of the arrangements along with our coordinator in just a couple days! Angela and the staff were wonderful during our wedding day, and I was so happy to be able to enjoy the day knowing we were being taken care of. My bridesmaids and I loved being pampered in the bridal suite! We were very excited to be able to utilize the guest rooms that weekend as well. It was so much fun to have our best friends and family with us all weekend! The food was fantastic, and most of our guests have told us that ours was the most fun wedding they had been to! We can t thank Angela and the staff enough for all of their hard work, and for giving us a PERFECT wedding day!

At the time that we booked our room the web site advertised that our room included high speed internet, coffee service (Although we were provided a coffee maker, we had to purchase my own coffee, filters, etc.), beautiful French doors, and access to a DVD player in the Central Lounge . We also assumed that since the hotel was advertised as a Charming Hotel , we would be provided with industry standard services such as daily linen changes (we had to purchase additional bath towels as there were not enough provided to accommodate the two adults staying in the room for 4 days), lite cleaning (we had to make up the beds and remove dead bugs from the floors) and trash service (we had to find alternate sacks to use as trash containers given that we were not provided any clean wastebaskets or trash bags). When I asked about internet access on my first day at the Ranch, I was told that it was no longer available because of a fire on the property (please note my wireless devices clearly showed that a wifi portal was in fact available on the property). I also suspect it was the fire that was responsible for the loud and enduring construction noise we was exposed to throughout our stay. After conducting additional research on-line, I discovered the Ranch was the victim of a tragic fire on April 16, 2014. However, at no time between my initial booking (July 2014) and check in (October 2014) was I notified that this incident would impact my accommodations, services, or overall experience at the Ranch. I also was not offered any price adjustment to reflect the reduction of services and increased inconvenience of residing in an active construction zone. By the time we discovered that our stay at the Buffalo Valley Ranch Event Center Hotel would not meet our expectations it was already too late to make an alternate plan for our travel! A few other miscellaneous problems that came up during the stay were as follows: we had no access to a landline to make local calls (which was especially problematic given the poor cell reception in the area and no notification ahead of time that we would be required to have a working cell phone), we were locked out of the Ranch on our first night (we were never informed the gates would be closed or locked at a certain time and were not given any access codes), we were provided only one room key (despite having registered for 2 guests and requesting a second key), and finally there were various insects (both living and dead) found in the beds/room throughout the stay. Also, when I attempted to contact the ranch after my stay (no one was on site upon check out and I was charged full price at check in) to note the many concerns listed above, not only did they refuse to refund any portion of my charges, but they failed to respond at all. I received no apologies for the extremely poor customer service, unsanitary conditions or false advertisement. I would not recommend this facility for an event, nor would call their lodging a hotel.

I cant express enough how wonderful this place is from the event center to the hotel to the staff. My daughter and her new husband just got married a few weekends ago and the whole wedding was just beautiful. The event center is beautiful with its stained concrete floors and dramatic lighting, to the set up of all the tables and chairs, and the food was excellent. The bride and grooms rooms are huge and can hold a bunch of people with out feeling crowded. The hotel was an added bonus to the event center for all those who wished to stay after the festivities and is just as lovely as the event center. The staff was a tremendous help from the beginning to end and willing to help in any way. (made some good friends threw the process). They made the event go off with out a hitch, really cant say enough about all the help they gave us. The ranch is the perfect setting for any wedding. Fran
