OK so thought this place would be good based on reviews both online and from friends but sorely disappointed today with my breakfast tacos. I ordered a potato and egg taco and the egg has zero seasoning/salt, the edges of the tortilla were hard/stale (tore them off), and the potatoes were full-on raw and hard (had to pick them all out). Wont be going back ever.

Ambro s is hands down the best authentic Mexican food spot I ve tried in Denton- their food is of extremely high quality and you definitely get a bang for your buck. There s a warm and welcoming atmosphere present as soon as you walk through the door which is very relaxing. If you go and visit, Leo will be there to greet you. He is extremely pleasant and helpful, and really takes care of every customer which is lovely to experience. You re missing out if you don t try this place y all.

Really sweet lady working the window. 1st torta de Milanesa was fantastic, second torta de carne asada Fail, third torta de milanesa was charred to a crisp fail. If they were consistent with the quality of the first food I got Id have more praise. The Elotes (corn) are not the Mexican white corn, but still fantastic flavor.

Best enchiladas in Denton. I ve been trying all the local places to find the good enchiladas I ve had in nearby towns (like Los Amigos in Lake Dallas) but have found most places have similar bland enchiladas. Here, the enchiladas are unique and delicious and more akin to farther south. The rice is fluffy and flavorful. Someone in my party had fajitas and loved them toasted tortillas, delicious side of beans, wonderful cooked vegetables and flavorful meat. On top of it all, the people working are very nice and welcoming. The patio is perfect if you have dogs. We ll be back!

Decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Ambros and I wasnt disappointed. Four tacos and rice and beans for $11! Cant beat that. I got Al pastor, chicken, carnitas, and Shrimp. Al pastor was the best. Salsas were tasty too. Got it to go, had everything I needed. Not an ideal spot to sit and eat with someone else as its right on a road the constant cars driving by was annoying. Always great food here though.

OK, my friend, this place is all the money. It s really inexpensive and the food is absolutely amazing. We had the number one combo and it is so good. Just enough food and really taste great. The sauce is at the table are really good, but they are both pretty spicy so proceed with caution, but you should try them. The service is great and the young lady at the front counter was terrific. Tried this place out for the first time last night, and I have to say, the food here was SO GOOD that I came back again in less than 24 hours! I honestly wish that I had heard of this place sooner. Not only is their food delicious and freshly cooked to order, but also the atmosphere is great! They have both indoor and outdoor ordering and seating options. The service is top tier, and the employees are very kind. They are patient as well which was helpful. The restaurant is cleaned and carefully looked after. The turn around time from ordering and getting your food is not long at all! Also, the portions are huge! Great people and delicious food at very reasonable prices as well. Im definitely going to be back pretty often because Ambros Tacos y Más is now officially one of my favorite restaurants. And my go to spot for tasty Mexican cuisine.

My first time here was during the Denton Jazz and Arts festival because the smell from the parking lot was very enticing. The new quesabirria taco plate is amazing, the food here is underpriced, and the customer service is superb. The young girl helped us our first time and was very accommodating. The woman with red hair was very kind. My only complaint is that they were out of the tres leches cake, which was delicious the first time, and was a giant slice for only $3.99. One of the best taco spots in Denton hands down.

Always love getting the chicken quesadilla. The portion size is huge for one person and it comes with sour cream and guac on the side. The corn in a cup is always a go to especially with the special Chile they make for the corn. Their Horchata is also one of the best in town, if you manage to snag a cup (they sometimes sell out). The have a covered patio for outside seating with lots of tables and an smaller AC section for those wanting to escape the heat. They also have a large selection of glass bottled Mexican drinks like Jarritos and Coke. Parking can sometimes be a bit limited as they share it with Secondhand Sports and M&B Tiny Shop, but there is a large parking lot between Oakland and McKinney that s free and a short walk away.

Drove out an hour out. Prior to driving, used common sense and called them like 10 times to confirm they closed at 10PM as per hours on Google. Great first experience here. Had perfect weather and enjoyed my lunch on their patio which is opened but covered and decent amount of space. Got the #1 and a small limonada. Limonada was good but a tad sweet for my preference. The taco plate was awesome. It came with 3 Campechano tacos which were great-good salsas with it too. I typically just go for tacos and not a plate combo with rice and beans but didn t see anything on the menu for individual tacos (also didn t ask), just felt in the mood to try the plate. And glad I did! Really enjoyed the rice and beans, almost ate everything on my plate! Service was nice and relatively fast. Very much enjoyed the food and will definitely be back

Horrible experience at this place today... Went in and ordered two #2s and was charged $23.50. The food took over 25 minutes to come out and by the time it did, everything was cold. The meat was hard, like it had been sitting out for a long time. The rice was also hard, the beans were okay, but like I said it was cold. As we were leaving we realized we had been charged way more than the #2 lunch special was, which was supposed to be $6.99 for the plate plus a canned drink. My wife went to ask why we were charged wrong and the lady said because we were supposed to ask for the lunch special and her boss told her to charge full price if you dont specifically ask for the lunch special. The sign outside clearly states the #2 during the lunch hours are $6.99. No where did it say you must ask for this special (see attached picture) When I brought the sign to the lady at the front she came up to me like she was going to attack me and said I was being rude and aggressive, even though I had been nice about it the whole time, just wanted to not be overcharged. The lady cooking the food even told her just to try to make it right, but this lady was just extremely rude about the whole thing.

Im writing this review before eating my food because this is such a great presentation and you can tell they care about serving great food. Im sure its delicious. Great pricing, skip the chain taco restaurants and stop here for some authentic tacos.

New Favorite! Everything here was delicious and looked exactly like the pictures. Some of the best carnitas Ive had in a while, sopes were amazing and so were the churros. The staff was super friendly, and the prices were great for what you got.
