The restaurant advertises that they are a hibachi restaurant. I understand they cook on a hibachi grill, but they don t have hibachi tables where you can sit and watch the show. Evidently since they have a hibachi grill this is not false advertising, but we were disappointed nonetheless. We went ahead and sat down at a table and decided we d have a drink there and then move on to an actual hibachi restaurant (we were looking for the experience here)! The waitress was very rude and obviously displeased that we were not having a meal. She went and told the manager who came to our table and asked why we weren t eating there. Ok, fine. But the waitress proceeded to be rude. I gave her a generous tip since we took up her table for 15 minutes and she didn t bother to say thanks. Anyway, would ve tried the place again had it not been for the attitude.

Soup was good. Sushi was average. Fried rice was disgusting. This is the second time ordering to go. First time was not so good. Ordered the hibachi steak and chicken. Flavor was bland. Not worth the price. Thought I would give it a try again. Not going to be a third time. Food might be slightly better if you eat in the restaurant but don t be surprised if it is bad as well.

If you re looking to enjoy a slow-paced or even moderately paced meal with friends, this may not be the best choice. They expect you to eat and go. One tip: leave some space for dessert and head next door for ice cream, where you can sit and talk with your friends. Overall, its a good place to eat if you re in a hurry or looking for a quick meal.

Arrived at 9:15 an hour before closing and our waitress, Tayler was oh so very rude. After ordering our drinks she immediately asked if we were ready to order, and being me and my wife s first time here we said we would need a few minutes. Not 2 minutes later she came back and rudely asked if we were done browsing the menu. Then after the food arrived within 10 minutes asked if we were ready for the check and awkwardly handed us the bill. Very rude and unprofessional on her part and there were tables waited after us so I don t see what her rush was. Won t be back and usually don t get bothered easily but Tayler was a very rude young lady.

My recent experience at Blue Ginger Sushi was disappointing and a significant step down from my first visit. The service was slow and inattentive - it took a while for our waiter to take our order, and when he finally did, he never brought out the salads we had ordered to start our meal. Throughout the evening, we had to deal with empty glasses as no one came to offer drink refills. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, with staff awkwardly staring at me from the front of the restaurant while I was trying to eat. Whatever changes occurred since my initial visit have definitely been for the worse. Blue Ginger Sushi failed to deliver the same quality of food, service and overall experience as before. I left feeling let down and unlikely to return after such a unpleasant evening. Management needs to address these issues if they want to win back the trust and satisfaction of diners like myself.

Absolutely amazing! Food is delicious, Sushi is out of this world and dont even get me started on the soup. Eat here if you like good food service And awesome Atmosphere! Vegetarian options: Many items on their menu are vegetarian! About half the items on their menu is vegetarian! Dietary restrictions: Most of their stuff has the option to be gluten free! Blue ginger has great food and great prices. My only issue is their website says free delivery when you spend $25 and live within a 5 mile radius. This is a lie. I live 3.7 miles away and when I called for delivery, they lies and said I live 5.7 miles away. Their excuse was its 3.7 miles from me to them, but from them to me, a mysterious 2 miles are some how added. Its the same roads to and from. So then they said ok, ok, I will deliver if its slow, but not when busy. SERIOUSLY?? Food might be great, but Id rather NOT do business with a business that lies to me.

Our first time trying Blue Ginger and it was delicious!! My husband does not like onions and unfortunately does not like hibachi because there are usually onions in the rice and veggies. Here, onions do not come with the meal so he could freely eat without fear of biting into an onion piece. We had the steak hibachi and tried the Japanese sodas. Such a fun experience! Love this restaurant!!! We will be back.

I loved this restaurant. Its difficult to find decent sushi in DFW. This was the best we had found so far. However, we wont be going back because the manager requested that a waiter chase us down in the parking lot. The waiter forgot to add an ice tea to our tab. We had ordered about $100+ worth of food for one tab (split bill). Their ice tea is about $2.75. We were so shocked and felt embarrassed for ourselves and that the manager even requested that this was done. Personally, thats extremely poor customer service. We paid for the ice tea, but I feel terrible for anyone working there. The service industry is hard enough and even harder with a manager like that. We wont be going back. Support your service workers and understand mistakes happen...

Walking in the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The service was good and the food was good. We ordered the Crab Rangoon which came with a sweet Dipping Sauce. They were Crispy with a Creamy Filling of Cream Cheese and Crab! Very Delicious! We ordered a Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box which was on a bed of Shredded Cabbage and a Tempura Shrimp Bento box which had 3 Shrimp, 1 Sweet Potato, 1 Zucchini, 1 Onion Ring Bento Box included 6 pieces of California Roll, White Rice, Egg Roll which was Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and Choice of Soup or Salad. If youre ordering take out or going with a bunch of skinny adults, the food is good, but this is absolutely not a place for families. We brought our 2 kids and it was a disaster. The booth had so little room that we couldnt fit our car seat in the booth next to us (the only time Ive ever experienced this), so instead we passed the baby between us. Except the booth had so little room we also couldnt put her on our laps so we had to sit her on the table and try to keep her out of the food. Theres also no changing table in either bathroom, so we had to improvise there. Overall a very unpleasant night. Kid-friendliness: Not at all kid friendly. Theres a token kids menu but it isnt appropriate for young kids, theres no changing station in the bathroom, and no room to breathe in the booths.

I come here all of the time and have done so since the chicken fried rice was $6.50 and added green onions was .50 cents but after tonight, I won t be back. The owner was adamant about charging me for sriracha with my to-go order what s the difference between sitting inside and using sriracha for free and getting some to use with my food at work? I even continued to come here after the owner gave my food to someone else, ran outside to catch them, and came back inside to tell me it ll be another 20 mins; she offered no compensation or apology for her error or the inconvenience. I stayed through the price hike and all but I m done now! Bye bye

I cannot express how lovely the experience is here. Everything in such a timely manner. The food is cooked wonderfully and just the fact that they care about their business/customers really shows. Im from out of town where we barely have places like Blue Ginger. I want to shout out my server Yenna who made the experience just as good with her sushi recommendation. As someone who has never ate sushi in my life, I really appreciated her kindness to help me out in choosing a nice and light sushi choice. Thanks again Yenna. This small restaurant has lots of flavors with great staff. Everyone that went was happy with their food from the fried rice to the hibachi and especially the sushi. Our waiter was friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed. They do not have hibachis that cook in front of you but overall it has a relaxed and quite atmosphere. We brought a local who was a fan of another local Japanese steak house and has been converted to the Blue Ginger! I would fully recommend try this restaurant out if you are in the mood for sushi or hibachi!

This is my second time trying last time I tried it I got well done steak it was hard and dried out this time I got medium well to see if that will help nope still dried out I couldn t even eat it I told the waiter the steak is so dry she laughed and said sorry they over cook everything . I love this place. The food is great, comes out fast, and is very hot and fresh. The servers are very nice and cooperative and there is relaxing music in the background. I would give it more stars if I could, definitely recommend this place. I ran into this place by accident and now it s become my comfort food spot! Always fresh from the salad to the main entrees. My 6 year old loves the sushi and my son the chicken nuggets. Hibachi express is my go to - I ve tried all the combinations and always seasoned well. I never finish a meal and it s even better the next day. I think I m there once every 2 weeks! Kid-friendliness: Never have an issue getting a table with the kids and they have a few options. Nuggets are crunchy on the outside but moist on the inside.

Firstly, the servers were kind. This low review is for the food. Not sure why the other reviews are so high If you look at the fish, they come wrapped in plastic on styrofoam plates, denigrated, desecrated. So, we chose to get chicken fried rice. No better. The salad is cut from the wrong end - chunky where it shouldn t be. There are no veggies in the salad, just dressing, as basic as can be. The salad was still my favorite dish. The miso soup lacked tofu. And for the worst dish of all, the hibachi steamed in my face like a slap. The chicken was chewy, dry. The veggies like a frozen boil. The sauces salty, topped full with soy sauce, causing me to cough. I can say with my chest this is the worst Japanese food I ve ever had. There is potential in the ginger sauce, but it was mediocre at best. Chefs please deliver fresh.

Good prices and food was very tasty and fresh. Service was incredibly fast and my server was very friendly! Will defiantly have to come back and try the lunch. Highly recommend.

Good shishi restaurant. Derive was friendly and prompt even with a busy lunch crowd. Parking: Parking here can be a challenge especially for larger vehicles. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with several other busy businesses. The lot is narrow and pretty full most days.

My spouse, and I came in with our 3 month old and were unaware of the closing time. We came in at 9:13pm, we were told by the host that the kitchen closes in 2 minutes and we needed to order to-go. The owner noticed that we had our baby and immediately sat us and took our order! We come here very often and definitely won t stop anytime soon! The employees are all very kind and always attentive.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I tried real sushi for the first time and I was amazed at how much I loved it. The spicy tuna and avocado roll the crunchy roll the fried dumplings There are a lot of good restaurants in Denton but only a handful that Id rave about to friends, but this one definitely is up there. Me and my family come here often and are never disappointed. The staff is quick to get what you need and answer any questions with kindness. Food was great but the person which is the manager by the way answered the phone. Finished ordering and she said a price. Wasn t sure what she said so asked again and started yelling to kitchen to cancel The order. Said wait why I want the food just didn t hear what you said. She said next time look at prices online before you call. How disappointing this is. I am retail and would fire any of my employees for behavior like this!

We had high hopes for dining in at this restaurant because we had ordered take out from this place previously, so we thought dine-in would also be a good experience. Unfortunately, it was not. When we were seated, it took our server a good two to three minutes to greet us/take our drink order, which I would understand if they were busy, but they were not at the time, and I have seen servers tend to their customers in a quicker fashion even when busy. Secondly, whenever she dropped our drinks off, she did not ask if we were ready to order, but instead went to browse on her phone behind the bar, only taking our order after three minutes of this. Had I not had any patience whatsoever, I probably would have walked out at that point. Fast forward to when we received our food. The roll I ordered was good, however, my boyfriend ordered the shrimp roll combo, which comes with 7pcs of assorted sushi, salmon, avocado roll, and a soup/salad. What he received was 7pcs of sushi and sashimi (he hates sashimi which is specifically why he did not order the sushi/sashimi combo). Trying to flag our server down was a pain because she immediately went to the kitchen as soon as she brought our food out. We had to flag down a busser and the host to retrieve our server to tell us the issue. It took her another 3-4 minutes to come out, but when addressing the issue to her, the owner/manager was nearby and told us that what he received was, in fact, not sashimi, but rather sushi with salmon in it. She explained that sashimi is just the meat and not the rice. We were both confused because what he received is EXACTLY what sashimi looks like. So after a quick google image search, we discovered that he had received sashimi (we already knew that from the start but we had to double check since the manager/owner was basically gaslighting us). The situation with flagging down our server and telling her the issues were made uncomfortable because multiple people were at our table at a time, which was kind of overwhelming and embarrassing. Aside from that, our server did not check to see if we liked the food, and only came to refill our drinks once, and that was when we were pretty much done with our food. As we were leaving, no one from the 3-4 workers sitting on the couch by the host stand wished us a good night. Dont get me wrong, this place has good sushi at a reasonable price, however, after our experience tonight, it is unlikely that we ever return.

I love dining here they make my favorite awesome roll sushi however their prices just went up. It used to be 7.50 and now its 10.50, I can understand increasing the price but its sad, if they get any higher Ill have to look at making my sushi at home. Otherwise I love this place, its very clean, good always tastes fresh, and its always plays such calming music.
