Rich Italian food in a Victorian era home. We had the lasagna and spaghetti. I would recommend this location for a unique experience. Service was friendly and attentive. Im not sure why they have not taken care of a large tree limb that is blocking the front sidewalk, which had been there for some time, apparently.

Excellent service, good food, really bad atmosphere. So much so that it detracted from the romance of the occasion. Box fan leaning against a wall on the floor, upstairs area is closed because it is too hot, and a huge fallen branch out front, the iron fence is busted and gnarled, no tornadoes have hit Giuseppe s lately so what is that about? It s been that way for several weeks now. I wouldn t be nitpicky but I do feel like I need to justify the one star for atmosphere the paintings are also poorly chosen. There s an extremely odd portrait of some children that comes off as creepy amongst others that look like they belong in a dentists office. Giuseppe, what has happened to you? You used to be a classy establishment.

1. The mozzarella sticks appear to be air fried 2. Caesar salad was $5, browning, and equivalent to two leafs of romaine lettuce. 3. The chicken parmigiana was actually super tasty 4. Vibe of the house was nice. 5. Customer service really wasn t the best. I called beforehand, no one answered. When we entered the establishment, the hostess (or possibly waitress) just looked at us without welcoming us or smiling. Even with the entree and charming setting, it really can t make up for the mid food and high price. I would not recommend this place, not in this economy.

The food apart from the entree was clearly air fryer mozzarela sticks (6 for $8) and old bag salad that was already turning brown and barely covered half the salad plate ($5). Entree was small on size and pretty bland. Mid.

Food was good at a reasonable price. Service was incredibly slow but there was a large event that could be to blame. Will give it another shot down the road to see if the slow service was a one-off or the norm. Parking: Very limited parking lot behind the restaurant. Parking across the street as well.

I had catering from them once at an event and it was REALLY bad. Like exceptionally bad, everyone there talked about it and made jokes that still persist to this day about it for weeks. But then recently I got forced into going here when I really didnt want to because of aforementioned experience, and it was really, surprisingly good. Maybe they have changed in the past year or maybe just their catering is terrible, but I was pleasantly surprised.

We visited yesterday 5/21 for the first time, my husband, my son & I. Cute old house, hostess pleasant, who was also the server. To start, my husband and I ordered iced tea, I said with real normal sugar only please. She serves us the watered down tea, that had no taste, with a dish of 4 packets of regular sugar, and about 6 packs of sweet and low ! Then the salad comes, I had the cesare they had house, my husband orders with no tomatoes, and his comes with tomatoes. My cesare comes, it has too much salt, taste like over load of vinegar and mayo. Entrees come, my husband, veal Marsala, he asked for roasted potatoes instead of mash and he gets mashed, His was good. My son, veal piccata, with fettuccine, his decent. I get the chicken piccata with same lemon cream sauce, but get fettuccine with marinara sauce. Mine, was horrible! Mushrooms tasted like they were soaked in vinegar, artichokes hearts tasted bitter, the lemon cream sauce slightly broke, but flavor just ok, chicken flat/thin breast dry as can be, over cooked. Sauce tasted like it had sweet and low in it, and left a bad after taste, pasta, seemed homemade, but very bland kinda like gluten free taste, which I did NOT order. So no desire to try desert at this point. Very disappointed will not be returning. I am Italian, I might add so I know authentic, this is by far from authentic Italian. Not impressed at all.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal last night. The restaurant has ample parking behind a spacious Victorian house full of original paintings. We each had a Caesar salad, a glass of Cabernet, and shared a five layer lasagna covered with a magnificent sauce and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. My wife said it was the best sauce she had had ever had. Our pleasant attentive server, Ari, happened to be one of Giuseppe s, the chef and owner, three daughters. Remarkably the price of our meal was about what we would have paid for hamburgers and drinks at a place like Chilis.

Absolute horrid experience. This was our first time trying Giuseppes and will be our last. The mozzarella sticks were bland and still the best thing we recieved. My date and I both ordered the Pollo con Carciofi, both of us barely touched it. The sauce was broken and the primary flavor was similar to mayonnaise. The chicken was dry and had an unpleaseant sweetness. The pasta was over cooked and the pesto sauce also had the weird mayo base which overshadowed the herbs. My date sent his plate back, telling our waitress about how the sauce was making him nauseas, and ordered the stuffed mushroom...the stuffing was raw tomatoes, parsley and a small pinch of cheese.Sauce was not included. The canolis smelled freezer burned and tasted like it came from a box. The staff were understandably busy and trying to host other tables but the vibe from them was that we were being problematic although we were attempting to shadow how disappointed we were. The plate that was returned was not taken off the bill. Over all, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I do not recommend and will make sure to let others know that the exorbitant prices does not equate to quality food, service or experience.

Despite the novelty of being in an old Victorian home, this place doesn t have much else going for it. There was no ambiance, it was cold (due to the lack of heating), and it is a bit run down. The food was very subpar. The bruschetta was not anything more than a heated up freezer bread log with some toppings sprinkled on some of it. Neither pasta dish were any good. The beef was extremely salty and rubbery and the bolognese was nothing to write home about. I would not come back. The waiter was very nice, but he did smell strongly of nicotine.

After seeing the high reviews and looking at their website my wife and I decided on this place to try for her birthday. Building definitely needs work. Huge crack in our dining room wall. It s below 20 outside and they seat us by the window which air is blowing right in thru. We started with the portabella which tasted like oil and was not appealing at all. They finally brought out our bread after we had finished our appetizer. We both looked at each other and said this bread looks like it s from sams on top of the fact the smashed it when trying to cut it. Thinking maybe the main course would be better I got the veal which you could tell had been sitting under a warmer. The fried exterior was soft and once again this tasted like oil. Wife had the ground beef, sausage, and onion over fettuccine noodles with tomato sauce. Not at all impressed with it either. After looking at the 4 desserts I had my reservations they were from a box. Tiramisu .almost freezer cold. Once again total let down. $86 bill by time we tipped with a glass of wine and 2 beers. Won t be back. There are much better choices nearby but we had high hopes for this place to be something new.

Complete trash. The only thing they didn t mess up was the wine, because they didn t make it. Mushroom caps had NO stuffing. Veal on two different plates TOUGH as nails. Served with wrong pasta sides. Alfredo had ZERO flavor, no cream, no butter, nothing Salads over dressed. Bruschetta had no balsamic, and tomatoes were not chopped but rather LARGELY sliced and thrown around. Can not believe we stayed for the meal after the poor apps, but it s historicity been great. Apparently no more. Sad loss to Denton. 2 thumbs down Giuseppe. Do better.

I was excited to try this place - I thought it was so cute that it was in a house. I was disappointed with every item I ordered. The caprese was the worst Ive ever had - it didnt have any basil and instead was served on a bed of lettuce. The mozzarella didnt have any flavor to it, and its texture was closer to rubber. The quality of the bread and butter was like an old loaf of bread from the grocery store. I ordered the Melazane del Umbria for my entree. The breaded eggplant felt like I was eating 95% breading and 5% eggplant. The lemon butter sauce that topped it was decent, though. The pesto pasta that it was served with was disappointing as well. It was so bad that I could only eat half of my plate. Didnt even take the leftovers home which I usually do. The only good thing was my server who was super nice. Maybe I tried the wrong dish, but I probably wont ever come here again.

Three stars for service there .their credit card system was out for some reason. Ran three different cards ~ 15 times; a personal debit and credit and a business card on a separate account. Didn t work, didn t have another form of compensation. Owner was sorry he couldn t help but said there was nothing he could do and it was probably on my end and should contact the bank. Had to do a quick fast food option instead. Card worked just fine. Disappointing to have to look at the food we ordered on the counter and just have to walk out after waiting 20mins for a problem on their end.

Something has changed. We would always go here on all special occasions. It has always been a great and romantic place with great food and wine. Not so much this time. The wait staff was great, but the food and ambiance were subpar. The bread was just store-bought bread, the packaged butter was frozen, nothing to go with the bread like olive oil or marinara sauce. The bread was served in what looked to be a dogs stainless steel water dish. The ceiling fan was so out of balance it was annoying. The speaker in our room was out so we couldnt hear the music so was asked to turn it up and then could hear the next rooms speaker (the music was great by the way). Paper napkins? Really? They used to have cloth. Its the first thing my wife noticed. Really cheapens the place. The food was very basic and bland, nothing to write home about. There was no Italian wine in this Italian restaurant, they were out, although the wine we did get was good. Sadly, we will be very hesitant going back to this once fabulous and charming restaurant, there are just too many others around that can fill that job.

The food was above average and the service was excellent. However, the building makes me nervous. The foundation is crumbling and needs serious work. The stairs are rusting through. The floor is uneven and warped. The window trim is falling off the wall. The gutters are falling off behind the building. Im not sure how it passes safety inspection for a restaurant. For the safety of the employees and customers, renovation is desperately necessary. This is not how rustic should look. We will not return due to these reasons.

This is more of a cry of despair than a review. Giuseppes used to be our go-to place to bring out of town guests and for special occasions. It will not be after our latest experience. I wont harp on the issues due to them being short staffed, not necessarily their fault on that. However, it is really gone downhill. We waited on the porch for a table and I couldnt help but notice the disrepair the place has fallen into. The sign has seen much better days, the fence looks like it was hit by I dont know what, and the stairs going to the second floor look like they could collapse at any second. After they forgot we were waiting for a table we were finally seated. We were offered a glass of wine for the wait, but alas, we dont imbibe. Their menu is greatly reduced without very many exciting items. So if you look at their website, which still has the full menu and have you mind set on something, might as well forget it. I ordered the vitello picata, I have had skirt steak that was more tender. I had difficultly cutting it with a knife. The pasta which came with the dish was so overcooked it was mush. My wifes Pollo Saltimbocca was flavorless and her pasta was the same mushy mess. We decided not to have Tiramisu so as not to ruin that for life. It such a shame when the mighty fall. Goodbye Giuseppes, it was nice knowing the old you.

Black tableclothed tables adorned with plastic flowers and paper menus. Loved it. Parking: Easily parked behind business. Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp to front door. Tables and chairs easily moved to accommodate wheelchairs.

We love the quaint restaurants in historic homes. Our server was friendly and very attentive. We were disappointed it was a very abbreviated menu, as the items we came prepared to try (crab stuffed mushrooms, calamari and a seafood linguine) were not listed. We know supply issues impact many restaurants, so updating the online menu can help patrons in their search. Instead, we tried the portobello cap which was small (like a large baby bella), but the sauce was so amazing we kept it for dipping our bread. The lasagna we were surprised did not have cheese in it, and we werent big fans of the marinara, but the meat was very good as was the added dollop of Alfredo sauce. Our favorite dish tried was the Melanzane Del Umbria (eggplant in lemon butter sauce with capers, spinach and pesto pasta). Wed definitely want to try them again if they have their full menu. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp

I d been driving past this cute, historic house for over a year and finally had the time to stop in for dinner. But overall I was just disappointed :( The decor is anything but Italian leaving the atmosphere dark, cold and un-inviting. Our servicer was very attentive but extremely loud and abrupt (practically ripping my moms plate from her hands when she was finished) The food was probably the most disappointing. Our chicken was over cooked and rubbery and sat over a marinara the was cold and taste like it came out of a jar. Our Alfredo (mind you we had to ask for it to come with fettuccine or it would have been penne) was extremely bland no taste at all and pasta was almost mush in texture. I m super sad! I truly wanted to love this place! I gave 2 starts because the wine was wonderful and an very heavy pour :)

We ate here on a Saturday night and I was happy that there was no wait. Its a nice place in an older house, which gave it a quaint lovely feel. I had a glass of wine and it was very good, a generous pour, too. I had the Chicken alla Romana and it was amazing! I would come back just to have it again. It came with fettuccine alfredo and that was kind of bland, but its not my favorite. My husband had a penne pasta dish with Italian sausage that was pretty good. We had tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious. I think it would be nice if the owners put up Christmas lights. The place looks very dark compared to the very festively lit house next door.

Two stars because we did takeout so I don t feel I can rate the establishment as a whole- otherwise it would be one. The food was not worth it at all. It was under-seasoned, with little sauce so it was really just like eating noodles. I had to add butter, salt, and pepper to make them edible. That wasn t a huge deal, but we ordered meatballs on our dishes and they were so disappointing. They were those little greyish ones that come on frozen dinners- not house made at all. And, they were an additional $3 charge on each plate!! Really ridiculous. We ate it because we were hungry, but we will not be ordering from here ever again. The most disappointing meal I ve had in a few years. I wish they were a new business so I could say they just don t know what they re doing yet, but they re really just making retirement home food and selling it for $14 a plate.

The food was ok pretty overpriced for the amount and quality to be honest, the Caesar salad was 4 dollars for a about a handful of lettuce and a dressing that resembles just mayonnaise and a dash of vinegar, the bruschetta was fair but was not toasted at all had decent toppings but at the price left alot to be desired. The entree was ok but the price was pretty high, 15 bucks for a little square of lasagna dusted with what would appear to be knock off canned kraft Parmesan cheese would be better off getting a frozen one from the store, the waitress was helpful and nice! But by far the worse thing about the place was the cleanliness, the bathroom where horrible I have seen a lot better restrooms in shady gas station there was old urine stains and crust all off the toilet. The kitchen was pretty horrible too, the door was open so the first thing you see when you walk in the front door is the cook leaning on the line eating spaghetti, and very dirty and dingy in the back with dirty pans on top of the stove that looked like it could fall threw the floor at any giving moment. This place would have so much potential if someone actually invested some money and time into it. Have heard good things but sadly will not be going back

My husband and I visted Guiseppes on 10/8. Weve been here many times throughout the years and it has always been consistent. A couple of months ago we were given reservations at the other italian restaurant thats near-impossible to get reservations for and found it very meh. At Guiseppes we ordered the portobello appetizer, it was wonderful. The waitress brought over our bread, complimentary, to dip in the garlic sauce and she wasnt kidding - it was delish! The bread didnt look fancy, but it was warm on the inside and crispy on the outside and just a perfect simple italian bread. I ordered the Pollo alla Romano and it was so yum! My husband ordered the classic Chicken Parmigiana and thought it was excellent. I had the house red wine and it was perfect! We were too full for dessert and our total meal was less than $50! The place is quaint and quiet, the server was professional and knowledgeable, the food came out quickly and was perfectly cooked. For my money, this is the best Italian restaurant in Denton.

Save yourself the trouble and just go to Olive Garden. Terrible experience. Server offered to customize any dish ordered but when we began customizing, quickly became agitated and very obviously annoyed. Server requested our orders be changed to make it easier . Orders still came out wrong with pastas/sauces all mixed up and on the wrong plates. Moscato wine was watered down. Awful quality. About 95% sure the Mozzerella Frita is frozen and not made fresh. The mozzarella cheese inside doesn t even stretch when bit into. Ordered bruschetta without garlic and onions. Bruschetta came out the first time with garlic and onions. Was taken back to kitchen and then came out with garlic after we were told garlic and onions were taken off. The server questioned if I was sure there was garlic still on it. We were charged for the appetizer after sending back again and refusing any new one. Pasta was extremely over cooked and mushy. Basically disintegrated as soon as you put it in your mouth. Picatta sauce was more like hollandaise sauce. Have never seen a picatta sauce look like this sauce. Server brought butter for bread and proceeded to throw the butter cups that were just in her hands into the bowl all over our bread. When asked if everything was tasting okay, I simply replied, Not really. I think we re ready for our check. With platefuls of food, we were given our $88 check and never questioned once as to why it wasn t tasting okay or why we didn t eat.

The food was tasteless, the kitchen is only opened for 3.5 hrs a day and they were out of a lot of items . I was so disappointed. Also there was a bug in my Caesar salad . Place Is full of gnats, they just fly into your food. No thank you . Id rather go to Olive Garden than eat here ever again .

The location has a lot of promise but a ways to go to claim fresh and authentic italian cuisine. The beef ravioli looked great but the added salt was too much and the pasta was under cooked making it gummy. The pork had little flavor and the American mashed potatoes were a mismatch. The gravy on the potatoes tasted like the brown gravy mix bought in the store in the little packets. The pesto noodles and Alfredo noodles were gummy and the sauce thick and clumpy. The staff are very nice and the price was fine. However, I can t say this a place to visit if you are in the mood for good food.

Chef Giuseppe prepares food that is good for your soul. Ive been pretty depressed lately. I havent had an appetite and my husband was trying to coax me into eating. I used to work in an Italian chain restaurant and often gush about how much I loved everything we served. He asked me Whats the best Italian food? My answer was, Whatever the chef feels like cooking that day. So, to my surprise, he called the restaurant and asked. The gentleman who answered the phone laughed and handed it over to Chef Giuseppe who spoke with my husband for a few minutes. He asked my husband a couple of basic questions- What kind of protein, and what kind of sauce does she like? Chicken, and she likes everything. Chef Giuseppe promised to make something special. Oh my goodness, he wasnt kidding! The bruschetta is mouth watering. It was a lovely balance of his zingy homemade balsamic vinegar reduction, fresh flavor packed herbs, melty cheese, and crisp, perfectly ripe, diced tomato. I could eat a whole meal of nothing but that and be so happy. The creamy pesto based pasta sauce was sensational. I thought I liked pesto. I was mistaken. I love pesto when its done so well. The sauteed vegetables were prepared with just that hint of char that lets you know it was cooked with lots of love and care. It brings out the natural flavors in the veggies so well! Ive also never tasted cracked pepper so fresh and flavorful. The stuff I have at home tastes like ash now. The entree, of coarse, was the chicken. It was prepared with mushrooms and artichokes in a lemon butter sauce. When I tell you I cried when I took the first bite, Im not even exaggerating. My husband asked how it was and I managed to choke out between sobs and chews, Its... So... f***ing... Good! Absolute best thing Ive tasted in I cant remember how long. The chicken was so juicy, tender, and again, perfectly charred to really make the flavors explode. Such an exquisite balance of zingy lemon, creamy buttery sauce, and again, very fresh mushrooms and artichoke that give the dish the extra pop of flavor. I can not even express how much this meal meant to me. Its the first thing thats made me smile in quite some time. I ate until I was painfully full and still have some left over for tomorrow. What can I say? It tasted like more! All in all, I stand by my original answer, with a slight modification- The best Italian food is whatever Chef Giuseppe feels like cooking that day. I have no idea what my dish was called, but it was absolutely art, made out of food, that really cheered an overworked mom up.
