I have an absolute deep love for this place! Miss Lynne is my favorite as well, Zera doesn t feel the same when I don t see her here. I recommend you all come on over and try their new muffin flavors (cranberry orange, pumpkin, and apple pie)!! I got the cranberry orange and it s delicious! You can ask for a side of butter if you wish too! :)

We had a sweet little event to celebrate a 90th birthday in the back room at Zera s. Kristen and Jared were so helpful, sweet and kind walking with me throughout the process. The room was perfect. Easy to decorate, as they had it already set up for us. We will definitely have our next small event here.

What a fantastic coffee shop and bakery. I m pretty picky about the taste of my coffee or coffee beverage. Zera Coffee Denton got my cappuccino right! And the altruistic nature of the place will have me choosing Zera over other places. Plus the atmosphere and service are great. You walk into a large almost warehouse feel of a building. But the place is welcoming and comfortable. When you first enter there s an L-shaped area straight ahead where you place your order. Many baked items covered by large glass domes are offered here. In this front area there are several tall tables & stools available. As you make your way back, to the left of where you place your order, an abundance of seating is revealed. The room opens up to this enormous warehouse type interior that feels like a hip & cozy urban living area. Plenty of comfortable living-room style seating areas to choose from. Choose from large and welcoming leather sofas & coffee tables, or a seating areas that offer large circular tables, with plenty of chairs around it. Seemed like everywhere I looked there were more spaces carved out. Some of the spaces offered a more private feel providing the opportunity to have a more intimate conversation with a friend. Or to concentrate for an exam while enjoying a cup of coffee. There s also seating available upstairs. My cappuccino was delicious! The servers were professional and friendly. I really liked the ambiance and appreciate the welcoming nature of Zera. I felt like I could hangout here for a few hours while drinking cappuccinos, enjoying fresh baked cookies by myself or with friends. Even if you re not a coffee drinker I d recommend this place. They have many other beverage offerings. Parking: Ample free parking in their parking lot beside Zera. Also several designated handicap parking spots available.

Hence, I did not order anything else to eat with concerns to sanitation and health , bringing 67 and disabled Not recommended for elders or children under these conditions.

Zera Coffee, such progressive people to socialize with, I think it s actually a front for ANTIFA and I ve heard George Soros is the silent partner who owns it. They charge half-off for anyone rocking an awesome drag outfit and if you come dressed as a furry you get bottomless lattes with uwu spelled out in the latte foam. The cafe music is a montage of 80 s satanic metal bands which gives it all a the nice retro feels. If you are lucky enough to get there at the right time they randomly get in a really silly mood where the staff, who are mostly Discordian Cybergoth switch femboys, dress up and do these over the top character acting performances where they pretend to be creepy evangelical Christian nationalists, they ll stay in character no matter what anyone does, they will proselytize customers coming in, wear corny plaid Walmart knock-offs of western wear, they will even accuse the people they have the hots for of looking woke and haughtily ask them to leave and threaten to call the police.

I am a frequent visitor to Zera. Every time I go I experience a friendly, warm, welcoming staff in a congenial, attractive and laidback atmosphere. (One of the managers, Lynne, is particularly friendly and helpful!) The place is filled with people who are studying or working or just hanging out with friends having a good time as they enjoy the tasty drinks and food. Whether you re looking for a delicious coffee drink, a specialty tea, a yummy sandwich or wrap, an ice cream dessert or a slice of delicious cake you can find it at Zera. My favorite sandwich is their chicken salad on a croissant. Super yummy! They just added ice cream desserts to their menu. I tried their Reeces Sunday and enjoyed every bite! I highly recommend Zera Coffee! Parking: Easy to find parking. Kid-friendliness: This place welcoming to children.

A few things could make the atmosphere a 5 star but great place. Go give it a shot. Dietary restrictions: Lots of alternative milks and a willingness to alter your food however you want. Parking: Plenti-O-parking. Nuff said. Kid-friendliness: Such a great environment. Its perfect to open conversation about grace, mercy, and the love of God. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, easy to roll around inside. I think there is one stair at one entrance.

I went here with the intentions on studying because the last time I came, the staff was very friendly and it was a quiet nice clean place. Unfortunately, today I brought in a coffee that I bought to support my University s music therapy program(this session was also very last minute, if it was planned, I would ve bought coffee here) and there isn t a sign that said no outside food or drinks so I thought it was okay. When I walked in a lady said that I couldn t have it which I respected but then, she continued to say in a rude sarcastic tone this is a coffee shop . I left right after. I find it rude to berate a potential customer for a simple mistake and to humiliate them in-front of others. I will not be going back after this which is sad bc I love what this coffee shop stands for, but, the workers are rude.

They recently moved the tables from the stage and replaced them with couches. I wish they hadnt. Those were my preferred places to do my work. Now the tables are without outlets, so I cant even use them. Working was already difficult enough when they have events going on but now I probably wont be coming back unless I have to. There are also no good vegan options, which matters to me religiously. I do like the bottomless tea, though. I personally miss the old Zera from before the pandemic and event space. If you are a person of color or non Christian, don t even bother coming here. I came to get some work done but was instead subjected to listening the most islamophobic hate speech by a group of women 3 times my age. They very confidently and wrongfully talked ill about my faith, and noticed that Zera s environment tolerates this kind of behavior. I rarely see people of color here and for good reason. This establishment fails to promote inclusivity for people of varying faiths. I have been here multiple times and have never felt welcome or safe. The environment makes me feel like such an outsider and that is not something I m willing to sacrifice for a cup of coffee. Don t ever expect me back.

This coffee place has by far gone worst these past few years. With the coffee being overpriced especially for the horrible quality it is( chunks of coffee just stirred around with melted ice) The customer service is equally as bad, I understand it is volunteered run but they should at least take the time to work with them and teach them customer service manners. Especially since they are what clients see when they walk in and represent the place as a whole. As well as getting kicked out for bringing outside snacks even thought you are a paying customer and buying there product as well. They preach about being religious and helping out, but the values/service/manners they show to customers do not represent that. Overall this establishment has been poorly maintain, do not come here.

I thought it was ridiculous because they should ve told us there was an event coming soon because people got to work and people paid for their drinks to be there. They should ve warned me and other people before they kicked everybody out that there was an event. I specifically went there to study and do work and the time I sat down I got kicked out. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. My latest experience at Zera just lost them 2 customers, and probably a few more after I tell others who go here about our experience. The staff does not allow outside food inside, and the reason being is that they have a sign. It is almost unheard of to provide a place for students to come study but not allow them to bring a snack. Imagine needing a refuge to study, packing yourself a sandwich (because you have no money for outside food as a college student), and then heading to the nearest coffeeshop only to be told that you must starve while you work on an assignment. So much for community minded. How Christian of them to want to make a profit on starving people. They also dont pay the staff. I urge you to stay away from this charity fraud scheme.

Sad that the coffee isnt even good. Dont properly pay staff. Should not be allowed to run as a non-profit for all the hateful political events they host. Kid-friendliness: Not child friendly unless you like your kids to be bigots

Not an easy place to find but nice and cozy. Friendly atmosphere. Very spacious inside. Ample parking and very clean restrooms. Used the backroom for a HR seminar.

As a non-coffer drinker, I love the awesome number of tea options they have. I typically come here during the week when Im working from home and want to change up my environment. 90% of the time, its great. The other 10% of the time it can be overly loud due to the younger groups that come in to play games or study together at the large tables. Also, as someone who is slightly short (54), I have to carefully select the right table because some of the chair/table combos are not comfortable for doing a lot of typing. However, the service is always friendly and every drink Ive tried has been delicious. Bonus: Its all for a good cause.

I used to regularly visit Zera a few years back and loved how warm and welcoming the staff was. Tonight we visited and immediately felt unwelcomed and none of the staff sitting around the table up front wanted to help us. Sad how much this place has changed.

Don t bring outside food! They ll ask you to eat it outside. It had been about a year since I had been in Denton and longer since I graduated from UNT. I was looking forward to going back to some of my favorite spots so I bought tacos and headed to Zera s for coffee and to work. After ordering my drink management let me know I wouldn t be able to eat the food in their space. It was raining and so I was like really? I m still a paying customer. She made my coffee to go and I left. I felt very unwelcomed in the space. Zeras is no longer a Denton favorite for me.

This place has changed a lot since I ve been here last. After the renovation that they did a few years ago, it is now geared more towards the ministry and church go-ers. Not nearly as many comfy seating spots. The interior now looks and feels like a hotel banquet hall. Very sterile feeling.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, free wifi. May be a little partial because the Denton Freedom House, in which their proceeds help fund, saved my life. Difficult to express how I truly feel about this place.
