Wanted to order a quick dinner here. Disappointing. Ordered a sandwhich and loaded tots online using their 3rd party platform and it made the experience much worse. Website says In a tub: includes potato crisps and 1 side sauce. Nothing about it being a no bread sandwhich with ingredients thrown into a container. When I asked why this isnt mentioned on the site the bartender says thats why its called a sub in a tub .... it is no longer a sub if there is no bread. Another bartender was nice enough to go to the kitchen to get me bread, the kitchen sent her back to me and she said they did not have any bread. A table next to me came out with sandwiches minutes later. To top it off, an order of a sandwhich and loaded tots took nearly 40 minutes with a very empty bar and it was cold to the touch when I picked it up directly after receiving the order ready text. Tots, although cold, were yummy

They just reopened after being closed for 2 months for a new-management overhaul, and I wasnt impressed. Ive been going there for over 20 years, and the beers are now more expensive, ditto their food. And the cool laid-back atmosphere is practically gone -- its become extremely impersonal. I had 1 beer and left, and I wont be coming back.

Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. Gunner is one of the best Bartenders that Ive ever met. The Onion Rings are amazing! I typically visit Denton every Sunday. Riprocks can now consider me a regular. If you want amazing Food at a great price, its a no brainier. Head on down to Riprocks!

Ive been coming here for a long time, even worked here for a bit. This place is amazing! Just redid their inside and menu, everything is even better than before. Great drinks, unbeatable prices, and some of the best food on the block. The staff are cool, kind, and always remember you. Great atmosphere! Pool tables, darts and a great selection of beers starting at $3.75. They have weekly meal and drink specials. I ordered the Rips burger basket with tots. The burger was great. Its composed of a brioche bun, fresh tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and onions. They have a really delicious house mustard as well. They have renovated pretty much everything. The bathrooms are modernized and clean.

TURN THE MUSIC DOWN! I know this is a college bar, and I myself am a college student, but thats no reason to jam the music to eardrum-puncturing levels. I couldnt even hear my date talk. We went out on the patio to escape this but it was just as bad. Plus, theyve raised the price on all their food, especially their wings, which you can only get in orders of 8; and being that its now $12 for 8 wings, thats a whopping $1.50 a wing! (Oh, and their Sunday wing special aint special anymore being that they raised it from 75 cents a wing to $1 a wing.) I now go to Cool Beans for lower music volume and affordable food.

This is a pub. It has pub food. The collection of brews includes both local favourites and national brands. The bartenders make good recommendations. There is a large patio out the front that is very pleasant in nice weather. There are also games like poll, darts, and board games available.

In accordance with TABC, bartenders of an establishment are charged with selling and serving alcohol in a responsible manner, as to not promote binge drinking. Anyone can quickly Google Steps to Responsible Alcohol Beverage Service for a snapshot of what that responsibility entails. That said, as someone completely sober (literally had one drink beer prior to arriving at the establishment) if I want to buy my friends a round, then immediately order myself one more shot, that should be my prerogative. The female bartender serving us that night flat out told me no, and that I had to wait 15 minutes. She further justified it by stating that her job would be put on the line if she served me like that. Being in the business myself, I understand its pointless to argue with your bartender, even if you know for a fact they are wrong. Now, I am not sure if she was just following some weird internal policy that her manager put into place, or if she was simply ill informed, but the whole scenario seemed unprofessional and has turned me off from visiting in the future. On the very rare occasion that I have an issue with the staff of an establishment, I politely as to speak to a manager. However, that wasnt possible this visit because we left the bar shortly after bring turned down. Maybe, being in a college town, they are just not used to dealing with responsible adults? Even so, a bartender should have the social intelligence to read customers and situations. That clearly wasnt the case here.

So amid this debate on rapper 50 cent being arrested in St. Kitts for cursing on stage after being advised of the legal consequences, the subject was brought up about my country having a stupid law, and I thought I should just kill 2 birds with 1 stone. For anyone wanting to debate stupid laws, how about the STUPID LAW that you cant walk into a Texas bar with a bottle of water in hand during the day because one of the a**hole bartenders will throw it in the trash without properly advising you about said STUPID LAW or giving you the opportunity to leave with your water then attempts to justify his mindless act by citing the possibility of losing his liquor license despite the fact that you ordered food to go and the weather outside is over 100 degrees? Really?!? I was appalled. My first visit to Riprocks was cool and the atmosphere was chill... but then this happened on my second visit while awaiting a to-go meal. Oh, the dude did offer me a glass of water to drink in the bar, even though I was taking the food to go and needed the water to wash it down, so to speak. -____- Plus, I am not a fast drinker/eater... never have been, so that would do me no good, and I explained it to him repeatedly... but he basically told me he did not have time to argue with me, which to me, sounded like, Maam, I hear what youre saying but I honestly do not give a flying f***. I always thought Riprocks was a great bar, but based on my interaction with that one idiot bartender, Id have to think very hard before going back or even recommending it to any of my friends. The only person that kept this review from being a complete tank was another bartender, Aaron (I think thats his name). Itll be really easy to tell him apart because he always seems happy and friendly. Hes always smiling and hes totally customer-focused... unlike that other blockhead I had to deal with. -_- Matter of fact, he gave me a bottle of coconut water and an ice-pop from his personal stash for my troubles :), so if I could rate him and how he lifted my spirits after that inexcusable nonsense his coworker subjected me to, hed get 10 stars on a 5-star scale.

The Bartender was chill and helpful. Real laid back atmosphere and in a good location. I wasnt there during typical bar hours, and though I no longer drink the selection of beer was solid - dont expect to find a wide selection of craft beer, but you wont stay thirsty. Sheesh, this place used to have good food and drink specials, but hardly anymore. The sign outside says Long Islands are $2 but its actually $2.50; and though 16 oz. cans of Lone Star and Pabst are $2, otherwise domestic draft beer is $3.25, which is way too high for an off-campus college bar. I used to get the wings and fries, but on a recent visit the wing sizes were pretty small and the sauce was watery and mediocre, and the fries have become really bland.

This place is the best place to drink on Fry without huge crowds and huge lines. Food is excellent (for bar food) burgers are never frozen and pounded fresh when you ordered it. Tater tots are alive and well (well, not alive - that would be ridiculous) and the specialty nachos are always a slam dunk.
