My husband and I had the opportunity to be married at The Venue at 400 N Ervay this past Oct. and we couldn t be happier. The space itself was magical being able to have a rooftop ceremony, inside the vintage courtroom for dinner and then rooftop dance party to close out the evening. We had extraordinary photos on the rooftop and the food was raved about by our guests (which rarely happens). The space being managed by Boxwood Hospitality made the whole process of wedding planning so easy and the day of the most extraordinary experience. We got lucky that the weather was incredible so we could have the event outside but even if the weather hadn t been nice, having the back up of the inside space alleviated any worries we would have had. Would highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a wedding space in downtown Dallas that has a unique vintage twist with elegance and a touch of the outdoor!

We just got married here 12/8/23 and our experience was AMAZING. Our coordinator was Madison and she was so great. Any questions an ever had were answered promptly and professionally. She was so great the day of I did not have to worry about a thing. Our guests had the best time and raves about the food. I would recommend this venue for any couple getting married!

From a photography standpoint, this venue is STUNNING! Seriously took my breath away, and the photos here are magical! The outdoor ceremony space on the rooftop is so unique, and the vintage interior of the reception space is so charming and fun. One of my favorite venues Ive shot at, and I look forward to working here again in the future! Photos by Madeline C Photography

I went there for my Nieces Wedding Rehersal Dinner and everything was Fabulous! The food was SO GOOD!! All the staff were very nice and attentive. The Atmosphere was so cool. I recall going to this Post Office as a little girl and to see how this building was renovated was a Great Experience. I will never forget this moment.

We had our wedding here. Venue is beautiful, we did have to move it inside from the rooftop to the courtroom since it rained. It was still perfect because of our own day of coordinator and family helping prep and set up. Pictures came out beautifully if Art Deco/Great Gatsby is the vibe you like. Communication is like pulling teeth for answers and responses from Edith. When trying to figure out the specifics to the second location the week of the wedding since we saw rain on the radar, it took a lot of unnecessary follow up email and texts to get answers. The week of my wedding. Which of course caused extra stress when it was but something that shouldn t be worried about, if the coordinator is going to respond or not. When the day came the furniture in the courtroom was supposed to be removed by a certain time so set up could begin. Almost an hour later the people show up to remove furniture. Edith was no where to be found most of the evening when vendors had questions and needed direction. If it weren t for my own people and family, this wedding would have been a disaster. We come from a very business family full of professionals and no one could believe how nonchalant and unprofessional things were handled. The venue is gorgeous, it would be an added bonus is they have a bridal and groom get ready suite. Nonetheless, if you have extreme patience and no hard deadlines, this venue is great. There is a lot of potential for this venue but unfortunately until they adjust their staff and how things are handled, I would be weary and want to know this all upfront myself if you re thinking about having something as important as your wedding here.

I totally agree with the comment below. Their rooftop space is amazing but the lack of communication is horrible (HUGE RED FLAG!) I scheduled to tour the venue last month but their head (and the only) coordinator never showed up. Not even one email to let me know she is not able to come. Two days later (after leaving her several messages and email), she responded back stating that she couldnt make it due to an ear infection. Were in the middle of a pandemic and Im not going to fault her for not showing up because of an illness. So I tried to be understanding and rescheduled for my tour the following week. This time, again, without any notification, she sends a guy over to let me upstairs. I had a few questions about the venue but he couldnt answered them and told me Edith was going to be reaching out to me. Until this day (a month later) I have not received an email from Edith. Few days after the tour I had sent her an email with a few questions I had regarding valet and such but till this day she has not responded. SO INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL. If I were you, I WILL NOT let them handle my once in a lifetime special day.

Venue was amazing, but the lack of communication was terrible. My Fiance and I are on a budget and wanted to utilize the special that was going on and ended January 24th. We met with Edith on January 11th to get a tour of the facility. We fell in love automatically and wanted to have our wedding their. The next day I followed up with her to get a quote and never received a response until 3 days later. Once she sent me a lengthy email, I immediately responded and till this day we have not received a response. We feel as though Edith didnt take us seriously and just rubbed us off as if we were no one. We will take our business elsewhere.

I hosted an event of 20 guests at The Venue and Edith, our tour guide and special events manager, was very helpful as I worked through the details for the event. She gave an excellent tour focusing on the history of the building including the courtroom and some of the current apartments that were once offices. Edith and her team were easy to work with and I would be happy to host another event at The Venue.

Historical building, it was an old post office Im told. People do actually live there. The rooftop is nice and surrounded by multiple buildings so its not directly in the sun. The only thing I didnt like is at night time I wish the roof had a bit more lighting and fans for the heat. Food was not very great either, attended an event on the rooftop which is how I know. But all in all it is a nice atmosphere and not hard to get to.

Great staff and event space. Youre kind of blocked by the buildings around you, but still good view of city.
