Oh my God, the vegan tacos are phenomenal. The place has a cool vibe and the staff are extremely nice my go to spot when I go back to Dallas. I would try the cauliflower tacos and also the vegan tofu tacos minus the Crema to keep it completely vegan.

Very frustrating online order experience - i signed in when it asked me to and then lost my entire order. This took 10 minutes. Then another 10 minutes to redo the order and I submitted it exactly at 10:30 and they closed just in that moment for online orders 1.5 hours before closing??! I visited Velvet Taco on Dallas Parkway the night before, and the service was excellent. The tacos were a standard size, and the person at the counter made the experience truly memorable. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to try another location in McKinney the next day. Unfortunately, the experience there was disappointing. The cashier s lack of enthusiasm made us feel like we were an inconvenience, as if we had arrived at the last minute and forced them to stay late. When the food arrived, we noticed that two of the tacos were the same as what we had ordered the previous night, but the portion sizes were noticeably smaller. It was surprising to see such a difference in serving size from the same company. On top of that, the service was poor, and the place was very dirty. However, the outdoor seating area and the opportunity to people-watch on the street were enjoyable. Despite this, weve decided not to visit Velvet Taco again. Ive attached a photo of the same dish ordered at two different locations for you to compare.

Velvet Taco Uptown Location - Consistently Amazing, with Exceptional Service! I ve been a regular Velvet Taco customer for quite some time, typically ordering via Uber Eats almost every week. Their tacos are always top-notch, and I m particularly addicted to their red velvet cake it s absolutely divine! Recently, I decided to do a pickup order from their Uptown location and used their convenient pickup window on the side of the building. The experience was fantastic! Not only was my order ready on time, but Louis, who I m guessing is the manager, went above and beyond to make my day. I completely forgot to add a slice of that heavenly red velvet cake to my order, but Louis noticed and made sure to include it for me, even though I wasn t able to come inside to pay for it. This kind of thoughtful, customer-first service is rare and truly appreciated. Velvet Taco has always been a go-to for their creative and delicious tacos, but now I m even more impressed with their commitment to customer satisfaction. Highly recommend this location!

Nice Velvet Taco near Dallas downtown area. Easy to spot from street. Good customer service and seating indoor or outdoor. Nice for eating with family, friends, dates or solo. Ive never really had a desire to try Velvet Taco because Im not big into pop culture and hype and all that so I kind of avoided the place. My brother and I came in today and I was immediately impressed. They have very unique tacos. All of them have something special that sets them apart from anywhere else. Pipe or not, Im pretty sure I found my new favorite Taqueria. But thats but the beginning of our experience here. My brother had the brisket taco and I had the salmon taco and both were amazing! I was very shocked at how much meat there is on the taco. They really stuff these things. And to make things even better, the manager, knowing it was our first time in, gave us samples of other items. Long story short, this was not only a great place to eat but it was also a great experience and I will definitely be back! I cant wait to try their chimichurri steak taco!! Oh yeah, they even have chimichurri sauce! I dont think Ive ever seen that in a restaurant! Thank You Velvet Taco for existing and being amazing! Actually one more thing, theyre hot sauce is the best taco hot sauce Ive ever had. Its like Valentina but with an extra tartness that just blew any other hot sauce out of the water.

However, what was even more alarming was the condition of the chips and guacamole that I received. The chips were undeniably stale, lacking the expected crunch and freshness. As for the guacamole, it was clear that it had been soiled. The texture and smell were off, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. These issues are significant as they pose a serious threat to the health and safety of customers. Food quality and safety are fundamental to any food establishment, and to have both these aspects neglected is unsettling. When I attempted to voice my concerns and request a refund, I found the customer service to be non-responsive. Despite multiple attempts to reach out, there was no answer. This lack of communication only adds to my disappointment and frustration. It is absolutely critical for Velvet Taco to ensure the freshness and safety of their food while maintaining an open line of communication with their customers. I genuinely hope my review serves as a wake-up call and prompts immediate action to rectify these issues. I wanted to try the chicken you buy at the window flr a while now so I went and I got flat out ignored . The guy asked what I wanted i told him, he looked at me up and down and closed the window without saying anything. I assumed he was getting my order. Him and his friends inside were just staring from inside but didnt say anything. A while passed and other customers came and thats the only reason they came back and asked what I wanted. Velvet Taco is very consistent. The number 10 now tastes like the first time I had a number 10 at the original Dallas location 6 years ago. Friendly staff and fresh ingredients make this a winner ever time.

The first time I have ever tried Velvet Taco... The chips and queso are good, but I thought the large variety of tasty tacos at a reasonable price had me sold until the Red Velvet Cake hit my taste buds. The moist warm cake with cream cheese icing and cajeta drizzle just melts in your mouth with a frenzy of deliciousness. If there were any questions up to that point on whether Id be back or not, they were definitely eliminated. I would recommend this place to anyone. Parking: Could use a larger area for parking or redesign the layout. Its a tight squeeze for larger vehicles like trucks and vans.

I wasnt sure about 5 stars. So, I didnt review the first time I went. But we cant seem to stop going back... So 5 stars it is. My husband is obsessed with the chicken and waffle taco. I get something different every time and ilthey are always yummy. The coconut curry queso is fun to say and to eat. However... the cake! Get the red velvet cake. You are welcome.

I love the hot Nashville tofu & paneer vegetarian taco options here! although, it s a once in a while treat cause they $5 a piece (pricey imo). The staff here usually nice especially considering- they deal with crazy s in uptown and late night drunks

Was greeted as I walked in the door. Manager came to my table, introduced himself, and asked if everything was good. Dining room attendant cleared my table for me and even asked if I would like a refill on my drink. Food : 5/5

Tacos were great and service was really fast! You order at the counter, find a seat indoors or outdoors, and they call your name when food is ready. They sell tacos, apps, their signature velvet cake, and cocktails! We ordered two Cubans, chicken and waffle, rotisserie chicken, grilled salmon, sweet chile shrimp, and rotisserie chicken. Cuban was my favorite and the rotisserie chicken was last--its just a standard taco. My husband loved the chicken and waffle and sweet chile shrimp. Good tacos and wide range of options!

Though the place *feels* like fast food go through the line and order at the window the food is quintessentially not. I had a grilled salmon taco and also a crispy tofu taco. I was surprised at how good the latter was. I also had elote guac which was AWESOME. Comes with plenty of blue corn tortilla chips.
