I ve been to this place many times but always called and ordered ahead. Today I wanted to stop by, sit down, check the menu and enjoy myself. Wait staff was friendly but one gentleman brought my food out that was not dressed very professional, I thought he was a customer. He took me by surprise but I guess he was a manager or maybe the owner. So I get done eating and on my way out I grab a paper menu from the big stack in the front. I ve never seen their menu till today and wanted to have it when I called and made my orders. Well I get to my truck put the paper menu down and was about to leave. I noticed that unprofessional guy walking to my truck so I roll my window down and ask how I could help him. He proceeded to ask me what I was doing? Completely thrown off guard I ask what he means. He proceeds to point at the paper menu and asks what I m doing with his paper menu. I told him I usually call my order in and don t have a menu. I told him I was taking the paper menu to have when I order. He took the menu back and said they have the menu online and walked away. Up to this point I had nothing bad to say about this place. This unprofessional gentleman completely ruined my experience and I will never be returning.

Yogi s Sushi Bar is an East Dallas neighborhood staple for my wife and I. Anytime we are craving incredibly fresh sushi, we come here for their creatively crafted rolls and food. The tuna tataki is a great shareable dish we order every single time. Some of the latest favs are the Slider Roll, Big Time Roll, Santiago Special Roll or the KC Roll to change up the texture and style. This place is fantastic and they are always consistent. Every, single, time! Grab a bar seat at the sushi bar and watch them work their magic! Thank you Yogi s for delivering phenomenal food, every time we visit!!

It s unfortunate after numerous visits to my favorite sushi restaurant, I experience horrible customer service by an owner I ve shared laughs with before. He could ve been having a bad day but it does not justify the humiliation of simply not enjoying a plate of food I had full intent on enjoying since everything else I ve ever ordered from here has been excellent. Santiago special roll, Texas roll, Dallas cowboy roll, Sashimi sampler to name a few of my favorites. It was not our first time here. The waitress that attended us agreed the noodles we were served were over cooked and the sauce was watery. The owner took the plate from our table and ate out of the same plate, which first of, that s disturbing, and secondly shared with four other individuals. Called us liars and said we had poor taste to put it in kind words. I see his response to other reviews and let me just say, The response speak for itself. This is no way to treat paying customers. We were not pan handling. If you can t accept criticism you shouldn t own a business. This is not the way to business. Speaking from personal experience as a customer service manager.

I have celiac disease and called the restaurant for a pick up order. Tiffany stayed on the phone with me while talking to their head chef, and giving me options for dishes with and without modifications. I felt safe eating her (delicious) gluten free recommendations with their provided gluten free soy sauce, and ate without any adverse effect. I m so thankful to have a sushi place in the neighborhood where I can feel safe eating! We came here to celebrate my birthday. The food was good. Came here due to a friends recommendation. We had the traditional edemame, broccoli crisp for appetizers and I had the Yogi Specail Beggie Roll and Maverick Roll everything was delish. We tend to not really be on our phones during dinner so I was unable to take photos of my food. But it was really good. We will come back again!

1) Understaffed, waiting staff were talking amongst themselves instead of tending to tables. 2) Food took 45 minutes for 1 fried sushi roll. They said it got lost in kitchen or something? Waiter was very hard to understand. 3) Some homeless drug addict came up to our table and tried selling us bread and we declined. But he kept on insisting until a waiter came over and told him to go away. This actually happened. 4) The prices are very expensive for the portions. 6 slices of a roll for 16-18$. The waiter kept telling us to not eat now and come back during happy hour where its half off. 5) The cheesecake was okay. Not a bad restaurant but not good either. 3/10

This has to be the friendliest place we have gone to in Dallas. Even the owners come out to help and talk to customers. The food is always fresh and delicious. Parking: We have always found a place to park. Its a bonus that it is free parking. Kid-friendliness: We have seen people come in with their kids with Mcdonald kids meal and its not a problem. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps to get into the place.

WOW. Do I feel sorry for the guys behind the bar... and for anyone who would like to get an appetizer within an hour of ordering. This place is a living, breathing Hells Kitchen, which makes for great entertainment provided youre not hungry. Total cluster as far the owners and wait staff go. The sushi guys are BUSTING it to keep up with no reinforcement whatsoever. Saving grace: food... if you get it... is good.

I don t know how this place is surviving. They can t seem to get things right especially with to-go ordering and are an utter let down when it comes to hospitality and customer service. My experiences here have been incredibly horrible! I placed an order tonight at 8:45pm, June 16th. My order: edamame, agedashi tofu, spicy salmon, 2 spicy tuna, tuna roll, and a noodle bowl. When I arrived at 9:02 to pick up my order they had scratched off the noodle bowl from the order and wrote out of stock, refund customer . So you mean to tell me you knew you were out of an item, yet you choose not to inform me? You had ample opportunity to call me. I was vetting the order and find out via checking my order. They didn t even tell me!! You could have called, sent an email, my cell number that was left on the order accepts text messages, but we weren t notified. Manager apologizes and tried to explain that they were just out of it. Again, never informed me. I HAD to ask for a replacement dish also because they definitely didn t think to offer or ask that, just assumed I don t need it because you re out of it. It s too expensive to eat out these days for you ,as a business, to provide crappy, subpar customer service. The Teriyaki bowl I had to order, because they were out of the noodle bowls, had a pile of dried pieces of chicken breast. More than likely because they rushed the order. Veggies, just steamed, no seasoning/flavor, incredibly bland teriyaki sauce just poured on top of the chicken. Didn t even bother tossing the chicken in the sauce. Did not finish. Spicy salmon roll tasted off, metallic almost. We couldn t finish it. Edamame was cold more than likely because we had to wait another 15 minutes for the replacement teriyaki bowl. Did not finish. Agedashi tofu, no longer crispy or hot. Did not finish. Spicy tuna and tuna rolls were just ok but again we did not finish these dishes. They were just too bad. Food quality was mediocre at best. We paid $70 for this meal and we still tipped. I will end on this, the manager offered me a free noodle bowl, as I was leaving, for the next time I visit. Very foolish and naive of you to think I will frequent that place again. I would not recommend this place or its food to anyone, ever.

Updated review: We LOVE to support local restaurants in the neighborhood. Yogis has become one of our go to date night and family night resturants. The food is top notch consistently and never disappoints. The chefs creations are continually evolving. (Its really cool to witness such skill and art catapulting to another level with every single dining experience.) However, its the overwhelmingly warm energy felt upon entering, the genuine greeting, and attention to the relationships and experiences of the patrons that sets this restaurant above. And thats why my husband, family, and I will continue to be the biggest fans of Yogis. Dietary restrictions: This resturant is very accommodating with grain free and low sugar options.

Everything about this place is 5 . From the level of service to the food to the cleanliness of the establishment. Both times I sat at the sushi bar and even when it was busy I was constantly checked on. I love the all you can eat option for $38 per person. Plenty of nigiri and rolls to choose from and they dont make you order in rounds like other all you can eat establishments. The chefs are absolute sweethearts and Im so happy I found this gem. I plan on going back as often as I can.

They don t serve the food all the once they serve one at a time every 5 minutes. It s important to serve the food at the same time because we want to eat all together but they serve the food like that myfriend don t want to eat first because he is waiting for us and he s food got cold because of waiting. No workers to handle Restaurant and orders.They only had one cook and a line out the door for pick ups orders and no one has started on the pick up orders. I asked a waitress if I could pick up my order and she said the chef has not had time to do the pick up orders because they only have one chef, I stated I noticed now hiring sign in the front of the facility. I don t recommend this restaurant zero stars. And I still have not gotten my refund for the food that I never was able to pick up. update: 4/10 got the refund. Update; 4/16 I did review the manager s response to this establishment and I did expected a snarky reply from manager, which was encounter on his reply This comment is unnecessary and ridiculous. I still enforce my review. Can you image the manager s snarky response is public? Can you image how he treats his staff, it reflects the Restaurants image. Came in excited to try a new sushi spot for date night. When we walked in there was already a gentleman waiting in line and then a couple in after us, no hostess in sight. As we were waiting to be attended, the other couple apparently knew one of the staff members & was greeted and seated shortly after. We were never acknowledged & neither was the first gentleman. We understand that it was a busy night and regulars are important to restaurants but to not even acknowledge a potential guest, especially if skipping them for whatever reason, is not acceptable. Sickest Ive been in my entire life. If an elderly person got this sick theyd need to be hospitalized. I went back when I started feeling ill because I work in the same shopping center the manager took my number and blew me off. I had to go throw up in their restroom and in the parking lot and all the way home. Called back to check on my refund this morning and was told it wasnt their food that made me sick. The food was 10/10 anazing** portions were huge to me & I felt like I actually got my moneys worth. Some of the best sushi I have ever had*** I wanted & asked multiple times for eel sauce & chopsticks with my dinner, & got neither. I tried to call several times but got a robot. Weird. I was looking forward to both of those things. Its a treat to eat sushi, & as a trucker, I had to eat my rolls with a plastic spork. The rolls turned out to need no sauce anyway, though. The crab & crawfish with sushi roll was out of this world, delicious. But even the rainbow roll was insanely good.. and theyre usually very fishy.. This wasnt at all. Favorite new spot. Ill grab chopsticks beforehand next time!

*they re racists* I walked in to pick up an order, there was no signage where to pick up so I asked the brunette at the counter. She skips me over and seats the people who just walked in. When she came back she ignored me and another waitress asked if I had a pickup and I said yes. She went to go check but it had been 5 minutes since I d seen her. The brunette ignored me and gave me dirty looks so I decided to wait in the car with my husband. I decided to ask him to pick it up since I felt uncomfortable. He goes inside and is greeted by the owner and the brunette with smiles. I m black/Latina my husband is from Spain so presents white. I had the Bento Box for lunch. I thought it was very good. It was only $12 and it was filling. Everything tastes as expected. Im not an adventurer when it comes to sushi so this was perfect for me. Staff was good.

Awful experience. All of the fish in our rolls was room temperature if not warm and tasted rotten. The rolls fell apart as soon as you grabbed them. The rice was stale and crunchy. All of these things probably mean that the rolls were premade and left in the kitchen for maybe hours. We seriously couldnt even eat half of our food. Very disappointed because this place used to have good food!

All the terrible reviews- believe them. I use to love this place but the service here is AWFUL. Every. Single. Time. Dine in, take out, sit at the bar, day, night.. all terrible. Add to that, the quality of presentation in the take out is garbage.. things thrown together, toppings of rolls all over, missing sauces, napkins, etc and not cheap. Its always the same manager on duty (short, bald guy) who actively looks at the bad service happening and proceeds to hide by the sushi bar hitting on his wait staff or on his phone. Just a joke. Bonus, the clientele at the bar fits the managers attitude mentally here as I walked into a bare restaurant and waited 20 minutes past pick time stated only to get the ol smile from man at the bar.. and when I didn t give him one he said bite me . Classy place. Save your money, and literally go anywhere else.

Decent food, just overpriced. Don t expect to be blown away by the service either. $7 for a 2pc salmon nigiri is a little high, and the chicken platter I had was $14. If you want sushi and don t care about price, this place does the job. However, there are cheaper and more authentic options elsewhere if you re looking for a real Japanese restaurant.

The restaurant has decent food, but it is overpriced. We ordered the chicken bento box, Sashimi combo, and Poke bowl, but unfortunately, we were disappointed with some of the dishes. The chicken was dry, the sashimi slices were very thin, and a piece of fish from the poke bowl tasted of ammonia, which was a big turnoff. Additionally, the restaurant seemed to be understaffed, which impacted the overall experience. I wouldnt recommend this location for an authentic Japanese food experience.

So I want to begin by saying I always eat local. I keep giving Yogi s sushi another chance. I will begin with a positive. The bartenders are always amazing. The cucumber martini is the only one in Dallas I love , It doesn t taste like a jar of pickles. And it is delicious. The initial complaint I had about this restaurant was that the wait staff is amazingly unprofessional. I watched two of their employees have an argument 5 feet from me while I sat at the bar. And it went on and on for like 15 minutes. Then the manager on duty joined in. Super awkward for a customer to watch this unfold while they re having dinner. But I said to myself that is no reason to not return because their food was OK that day. But that has changed. We returned last night to have a spicy tuna roll served to us that was, I don t know how many hours old. The rice was completely crusty because it had sat out so long and the tuna was warm room temperature. I mean seriously. We ordered it and then the roll came out not even 60 seconds later. Who does that? So that does it for me. Not cool.

They tie the bags so tight, you have to tear them up to check and then ask them to rebag so.... Overall meh. Shame because they try really hard on service when dining in.

SUCH a lovely experience! Came with some friends and was VERY impressed by the food and drinks! Sushi was very tasty. As for my drink I asked our waitress to surprise me with a sweet alcoholic drink and she did not disappoint! A mojito (with blueberries i think) so good. A solid 10/10. I came here because I happened to be in the area and my kids love sushi. The sushi was expensive for small portions but that wasnt the issue. The lady who helped was very helpful choosing what to get for them. I ordered 2 shrimp fried rice to go with the sushi since the portions were so small. When I arrived home I noticed it wasnt shrimp, It was chicken fried rice. Also the rice was very dry. My kids wouldnt eat because they only like shrimp fried rice. I tried to eat but the rice was extremely dry. I called not to complain how it taste but to at least get a refund on the price difference between the shrimp and chicken since Im rarely around there. I was told twice I would receive a call back and a refund but I never received either. This was 2 days in a row and 2 different people said I would receive a call back. One even said she was going to look up my receipt. I spent $100 including over a 20% tip. At least I couldve received is a phone call from management.

let me start by saying the only positive about our dinner was our waitress - she was so sweet & fast paced even though it was very packed last night. i usually go to Togi for the happy hour, but decided on dinner last night. i skipped my usual Vegas Roll order & decided to try the Ahi Tower. typically i try them anytime theyre offered anywhere. this was the WORST Ahi Tower i have ever tried. the tower was sloppy, uneven layers & seemed to be missing spicy mayo, wasabi on the side & ginger. for some disgusting reason, they decided to serve it to me DROWNED in soy sauce. i cant stand soy sauce in america. usually its only a little or on the side but this plate was like soy sauce soup. i couldnt even finish it or have more than a few bites really. i was majorly disappointed but i suppose thats the quality you get for the sports bar & grill type of establishment. im definitely only eating at Blue Sushi from now on. this experience has turned me off from Yogis. i had been going there almost weekly before this experience. my fiancé ordered sashimi. it was pathetic to say the least - i dont have a photo of his meal.

The waiters never came to us(only came to get our order and that was it) and just sat around talking to each other. The long wait for our food was fine but what I didn t like was the waiter giving themselves a tip despite us not leaving any due to terrible service we were given. Will not be going back. Hopefully others have better service/experience than we did going there.

Silly me! I had read the reviews of this place, but decided to try it anyway. Big mistake! I ordered the softshell crab which, itself, was good. However, around it on the plate was rotten lettuce! When I asked the server, her reply was Thats how its been coming in....and its just for decoration anyway. ANYTHING on ones plate should be edible! Then came the Bento Box. Not one vegetable on the unseasoned teryaki chicken. The California roll tasted old, and the yellowfin sushi was warm and also tasted old. When I asked the server about it, she assured me it was fresh, although I have my doubts. Warm, stale-tasting sushi? Ick!! I then asked to see the manager, who, I was told, would not be there until 3 hours later. At that point, I just stated that I wasnt going to pay for something I couldnt eat and left. Needless to say, I wont be back.

First, Both of my rolls were on the same.plate, second, the sides of Wasabi and radishes were mixed with the rolls. (They were not separated for them) besides that the presentation was really bad, I did not get any napkins either. finally when I got at the restaurant none was there to help me. This is the $15 chicken teriyaki before I touched it. I can get much better chicken teriyaki, and a larger (normal) portion, at higher-end restaurants for the same price. The sautéed vegetables include 1 warm piece of broccoli, 1 floppy, warm piece of yellow squash, and 1 floppy, warm piece of zucchini, none of them seasoned. This was a Fyre Festival level meal... all of the disappointment and lingering hunger without at least having a good story. Disappointing use of $80.. I actually feel bad about myself for choosing this tonight. Go to SaSa Sushi on Gaston instead!

Spent $77.00 here for below average nagiri sushi, and received the wrong roll, which was below average in size and sub par in taste. Very disappointed and regret not going to my regular sushi place. Additionally, I question the wasabi. To be fair, the soft shell crab was decent, but 4 decent bites out of a $77.00 meal does not cut it.

We love this place. We have had sushi all over Dallas and this is at the top of our list. Their service has been great every time and the sushi is so fresh. My personal favorite happy hour on a Friday afternoon while wrapping up some emails for the week. Not to mention boyfriend is always happy to go because of the TVs.
