I ordered the Fried Pork Chop Dinner with Yams, Mac N Cheese Casserole, & Cabbage. The Pork Chops were Fried to Perfection & Seasoned well.. However, Next time I will ask for a little more Seasoning on mines, but not salt. The Yams were Absolutely on POINT!!Meaning Sugar & Buttered Perfectly. The Cabbage was seasoned Great. However, the Mac N Cheese didnt taste like real Cheese. It taste kinda Powered & was a bit watery- It was not baked in the oven, it was definitely on the StoveTop. I am a Food Critic and I will definitely be going back to try the Mac Casserole to see if it is any better! Furthermore, I gave them 5 Stars, because The Lady that bought our food out to the car was very Polite, Professional and Friendly. Sometimes in life its not Always about the Taste of food, Its about the Quality & the Delivery of the Service!!! Awesome Place & I will definitely be back!! Wonderful establishment with delightful personnel who really made me feel at home with my experience. I called about an item that I couldnt find on doordash so I opted to see the menu first hand. I was ecstatic to see the options they have available and upon reaching the venue I was met with genuine southern hospitality. They had the item I was looking for and it definitely satiated the craving (collard greens ). I would highly recommend this eatery! 5/5 s Thank you all so much for the phenomenal encounter

The food is taken from a can, Mac and cheese salty no flavor, green have no flavour I ordered 6 veggies all barely edible at the cost of $37.00. Also the portions are extremely small , also they will not allow you to enter the restaurant they take your order at the door . They need to do better in quality of food, overpricing , customer service and small portions. Not worth the visit at all.

First visit to this neighborhood favorite. Ordered chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cabbage, and a slice of sweet potato pie. Everything was well-seasoned, a little more salt than what I actually prefer, but still very flavorful, well-prepared food. Inside still has not opened up but can call in the order. Relatively short wait after ordering at the door someone then brings your food to the car. Today I ordered chicken n dressing it was so good and flavorful, the dressing was the bomb, they remembered to include cranberry sauce, black-eyed peas, yams and cornbread. I bought my husband the Salisbury steak it was too salty, but otherwise was good, he also liked the pinto beans, mac n cheese and cornbread a lot! I wanted to try the sweet potatoe pie but thought over $5. a slice was a little much. I have and will definitely go back.

Ordered Pork Chop with sides of yams, fried okra, mac & cheese, and black-eyed peas, as well as a slice of sweet potato pie for dessert. Pork Chop was seasoned and fried well. Yams were OK. They seem to be the Bruce s out of the can(nothing special). Fried okra was OK again nothing to rave about just typical fried okra. Wish some establishments would season the batter. Mac & cheese was good has a taste of sharp cheddar. Black Eyed Peas were pretty tasty. Can t complain about those. Sweet potato pie was OK again nothing to rave about doesn t seem to be homemade possibly a frozen or store-bought. Overall, dinner was definitely edible. Some things could use some work. I drove 40 minutes from Frisco to get a dinner and a plate of chitterlings. The gentleman who stands outside and takes the orders tells me $23.00 cash for the chitterlings and $15.00 for your dinner. I asked to speak to the owner. The short lady says we had an $800.00 order of chitterlings to go bad and we have to take cash for chitterlings. She then directed me to an ATM at the gas station up the street I left empty handed and I will not return because they obviously don t value customer service. $23.00 is small compared to $800.00. If she would have said I will take your card this time but next time will you bring cash I would have respected the business. If you build good relationships with your customers, that will outweigh your bad experiences and continue to bring in the right customers that want to spend money with you.

A friend & I were looking for some down home soul food and my friend ran across Dventures on Google. When we finally found it, WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. First, its not a restaurant. You have to order outside and wait Fortunately, it wasnt too hot. Secondly, they only take cash. Third, their prices on line are different than the prices when ordering at the door and finally, THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. I spent about $35 f/2 plates and my friend spent over $50 f/3 plates. We wont be going back to Dventures. With over 40 yrs of service one would expect more.

Dont accept card payments or tap. The man standing behind her had the tap machine ready for me to pay. The lady says we only accept cash. Well, tell me why does he has the tap machine in hand. This place must have a secret hide out, because to pay ($40 plus) this amount of money to do a pickup outside the door is crazy. This was my 1st and last time ordering from there. I got the rib plate with the sweet baby Ray sauce, the greens needs to chopped as well as the stems with some season, pinto beans needs seasoning or a ham hock, and then the chitterlings with no seasoning. There is no dine in. This should be a curbside business.

I have been a patron of Dventures Restaurant & Club for 30+ years and I can honestly say that this is the place to be, Thinking back to my 1st time visiting Dventures and I saw an all so Familiar face, I visited I the 80s and they had just got up and running but I had the pleasure of meeting Shanequia/ Barbara Dismukes Aunt and even though Im really bad with names I never forget a face especially when it pertains the most warming and pleasant/ effectuous smile. Although their not doing seating in the Restaurant/club they are doing carside/curbside orders. The service was next to none all while being fast and courteous. My waitress was actually a niece and when I say On Point I mean just that, no more no less. I just love this place and I was taken aback when u mentioned that I had gotten food from Dventures my friend recalled my 22nd Birthday Party that Dventures housed and even though it made me reflect back on younger years, Dventures is a worthy staple in the community and everyone is treated as such, Like FAMILY... WTG Dventures a well placed diamond in the rough... Hearty home style Soul food and all the Love one could ask for... Simply put i Love this place and the staff as well. Saw the reviews and decided Id try a dessert. I ordered outside the door. I guess no one is allowed in. I ordered 2 slices of German chocolate cake. The sign said homemade but I highly doubt it. The cake wasnt moist and wasnt flavorful. The icing was ok and the cake wasnt layered. So there was no additional icing as a typical German chocolate cake. I picked over the icing and trashed the cake. Not a great experience. Even though I was served at the door the lady taking orders was cordial.

We arrived 1 horas before they closed however they were closed! We rang the Bell and a lady open the door, she just looked at us like asking for what do we want? I said -food- Then she gave us directions to hit another restaurant. We could not enjoy this place and it was super sad because it looks really good outside! So it means its probably good inside too. A little disappointed because Ive lived Oakcliff for over 40yrs and never tried this place. I tried it today and was not pleased. I ordered through door dash. The green beans I paid extra for and pecan pie was missing from my order. I ALSO PAID for my gravy to be put on the side but my food was drowned in gravy. The service was quick, big nice portions but I had items missing and instructions not met. The mac n cheese was a bit salty and the mashed potatoes are instant. Ill probably never order here again. We pay too much money for food plus delivery service to have messed up orders and mediocre food. Pay attention to the orders before sending them out. Do better.

The food was good, but the sweet potato pie wasn t it for me .. also I feel like the chitterlings are over priced I got a side of chitterlings which was $22 and the portion size is not worth $22. Other than tht I was pleased

After having my coworkers telling me about this place, I finally went, MS Doe, appreciate you woman, I had a large order and she was patient ,comical , and was helpful in assisting me with the orders. Also for the sweet young lady who brought out my orders was great, she made sure the order was correct before I left, Whoever back there doing all the cooking .. keep doing what y all doing . everything was amazing. I will definitely be back.

I love the food but today I placed an order over the phone and the older woman answered the phone I wanted but I got a piece but I change my mind and I told her no but my fiancé wanted to play so I ask and I have it she replied, and told me that I said I didn t want it. I told her that I change my mind she was very rude and told me to order in person and hung up the phone in my face. She s too old to be acting the way she was acting.

The greens where poor prep they weren t cut or cleaned all I could taste was crunchy grit poor trash. The chitterlings were also not cleaned and were huge pieces the yams trash The dressing was stuffing was served cold muffins yams taste contaminated nothing about this place is right They literally serving food out the front door which automatically made me feel they had something to hide sign on door no refund no exchange certain foods you had to pay cash over special like it was a third party involved and the lady at the door was rude had no courtesy or customer service SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN the only reason I went because of the reviews which are false never had food so worse with worser customer service this was a highway robbery 33$ a plate for food I wouldn t feed my dog went str8 to the trash can. I knew I wasn t getting my money back but I couldn t let no one else be a victim. I purchased chicken and dressing w/ greens and pinto beans and got black eye peas. 25$ AND chitterlings plate w/ greens and yams 30$ Everything about this place is TRASH!!!!

If i tell yall this the best spot over here for soul food u better believe it!!! My go to is chicken fried chicken, pinto beans and double mac. Bc they tease me on the mac so i get double. The portion size of this meal is for 2. But i eats!!! Lol u wont regret it and on Sundays they have chitlins omg yall!!!!! The BEST SOUK FOOD SPOT. NO CAP!!

Dont advertise dine in when obviously you dont have dine in. I went today (Sunday) met at a locked door with someone coming out to take your order and you wait outside for it. Food is good. I would like to have sat and ate on a Sunday after church!

The food was actually good. I had catfish,greens, and mac n cheese. Even the Kool-Aid was on point. The only problem I had was the cornbread. It was not good. I like a little sweet taste to my cornbread, and theirs was just dry, tasteless cornbread. Now, lets not forget about the sweet potato pie. It was really good.

This place has the worst customer service experience Ive ever had!! Douglas has no clue of how to be pleasant during ordering taking! Rude as hell!! Would never recommend this place just because of the customer service! I ordered the Smothered Pork Chop dinner with rice and cabbage. Cabbage was just boiled in water no flavor whatsoever, rice with gravy along with the pork chop was pretty tasty. But this place Ill take a hard pass on going here again. Ordered 3 meals and Dougie didnt give me any utensils, went back to the door he handed me one, I have 3 meals sir! He insisted they were in the bag, so I went and got the bag to show him, Nothing in here!

Stop by for a soul food plate today and service was horrible, Mac n cheese was just nasty.
