My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary, and it was a great experience. They gave us a glass of champagne for our anniversary, and the cocktails and mocktails were very tasty. We got two starters, two small plates and one entree to share, and that was probably one small dish too much, but it was all delicious and the service was excellent: friendly and attentive without getting too much in your business. I would definitely go again.

If you are looking for the perfect date night, dinner to show off to a client, or restaurant to try with all your foodie friends this is your place. The staff are top of their class in customer service and knowledge. I have come for two of the season menus now and been blown away each time (The duck confit is excellent). If you go when the weather is cool and sun is setting with the open doors style the atmosphere becomes stunning. I could not recommend this restaurant more, and I am excited for the nexts season s menu!

Had a wonderful date night at Written by the Seasons and an incredibly knowledgeable server, JoJo. Although it was our first time, I can t wait to come back and try their next season s menu. The dish curation slightly resembles Uchi in my opinion. I really enjoyed the complexity/quality of flavors in such simple dishes.

The food was fantastic with several vegetarian options, at least in the small plates. Walked away feeling full and satisfied. Elena, our server, did an absolutely fantastic job of keeping an eye on us. We had a large top of 7, so her ability to ensure we were well taken care of in a very subtle, non-intrusive way was impressive to say the least!

Wonderful dining experience. Extremely attentive waiters- they d come by everytime a plate was dirty or a meal was finished to switch things out and ask us how we were doing. We were given a thorough guide of the menu as well with attention paid to our specific dietary restrictions. We had a birthday in our party and the treatment was super kind, every staff member in the restaurant wished her a happy day! And of course, the food was spectacular. Lovely place with a lovely theme!

Visited for my first time and absolutely loved my experience. The food was so fresh and delicious. I like that they change their menu according to the season. My friend and I ordered the roasted stone fruit, buratta, & watercress salad, along with the Gazpacho and grilled shrimp& avocado mango dish (which was sorta like a coconut lime ceviche). WOW it was all amazing. Also, we had some men approach us while we sat outside to eat, which made us feel uncomfortable, and the staff recognized this and helped us, which was GREATLY appreciated. I would give 10 stars if I could!!

Finding a table there is a mess They use Resy s and Google Apparently on Resy s they show unavailable spots/tables for you, while in reality if you book, you ll have to wait on the waitlist anyway ! That s is silly! And, for the record, they don t allow reservation for 1 person, which is also weird and not smart, because I can easily spent more than what a couple of studs do... It seems to be overrated, otherwise would allow 1 person reservations What a poor experience !

5 stars easily! Ive lived in Oak Cliff since 2000 before Bishop Arts even existed. I try every new restaurant. I should have written a review 2 years ago but this place is by far the best. Its my favorite, the food...beyond yum and amazing....the staff, could they be more interesting and I need to stop wanting to be them...and the atmosphere, the music the whole experience. But the food, yowzeer! There are no words.

Had a fantastic night at Written by the Seasons! Our server, JoJo was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. She was attentive and helpful! The food was all delicious and in my opinion, creative. The drinks were solid. They had a seasonal and regular menu which I liked. And the two desserts we tried were fantastic. I recommend going family style so you can try as much as possible. Overall I thought the price was good for what you got and well worth it. Highly recommend!

This is my second time it s absolutely lovely restaurant. The decor to the service is light and friendly. The food selection and menu is really great with different mixture of dishes. It s great spot to go on a date or hang with friends. They have alot light dishes and very healthy and yummy options for people with dietary restrictions. I really enjoyed myself and would definitely go again! Me and my friend both had the salmon and a Korea pancake so so so good. I definitely want to try other things too on my next visit!

Food is fresh, seasonal, and creative; you can get actual vegetables; the wood-fired proteins are delicious; the cocktails are diverse and well-balanced; and the staff are great, especially the manager, Wren. Not impressed. No good spring water choices. Nor do they have filtered water. Waiter was not knowledgeable or friendly. Appetizers were limited. Steak was well prepared. However the sides were limited. Over priced for what you received . This is a pass especially with all the better restaurant choices in bishop arts and in Dallas in general.

A true neighborhood gem with exceptional food and superlative service. Bear in mind that patio has true western exposure so schedule your summer evening patio time after 745pm. We had the scallops, the beet salad and the sourdough bread... so great. We also enjoyed a divine ginger snap dessert.

This was our first time at written by the seasons and it was amazing. We did not have a reservation and they were able to squeeze us in on the patio. Jason was our server outside and he was amazing. He gave us great recommendations and was just great to talk to! We ended up getting the shrimp and avocado small plate and then two scallop entrees and they were absolutely amazing - a perfect refreshing dinner. I also recommend the spritzs for drinks! We will be back!

Every time I am in Dallas I dine at Written by the Season. The service, food, and ambiance is always 5 stars! I love bringing friends and clients because I know that being there sets the stage for a perfect evening. It is hard to pick a favorite server because they are all outstanding! Elana, JoJo, and Cash feel like friends that I am happy to see. They are friendly, interesting, courteous, and experts on the menu. They always have great recommendations especially when the menu has a seasonal change; Cash even remembered to tell me that a cucumber mint drink that I had over a year ago was available! I have had many plates here and everything is always fresh, outrageously delicious, and beautifully plated. Its hard to pick favorites, but these are ones that come to mind first: Grilled Shrimp & Avocado, mango small plate Duck Confit Grilled Salmon Flourless Chocolate Cake You are missing out on a wonderful dinning experience if you dont taste and see for yourself!

Went here with my husband - we are from out of town. We enjoyed the small plates - amazing shrimp with avocado and a variety of fresh veg/fruits in a very gourmet dish that was fresh and delicious - each bite was awesome. Shared scallops main dish which had incredible risotto and avocados and fresh greens. It was so good. Then finished with a pistachio meringue dish that was incredible. It is expensive but elegant and awesome especially if you like delicious fresh gourmet prepared food and smaller portions big on taste. Excellent! We will go there again!

Service was good, bishop arts area is beautiful in good weather. We got a round of drinks- which the cocktails were incredible. Really innovative for the juice blend drinks. Assyrtiko was crisp and delicious. We got apps- simple salad, charcuterie board and the sourdough w balsamic. The bread was so fresh and doughy/ loved that. I have to say we love charcuterie boards but this had to be one of our least favorites. It wasn t bad, it just didn t have much to offer/lacking variety. Overly priced for drinks and a cheese board. It was over $100 but good spot for drinks. Vegetarian options: Salads veggies apps all viable options

I dined in with my family and partner recently and we had a lovely experience. I m from Chicago and can be picky with my dining experiences but I was blown away. The food was fresh, flavorful and portioned well. We tried probably half of the menu and were so full; this is a great place to go with a group as you can share dishes. My mom has celiac and was so happy she had as many options as she did including dessert. The seafood stew, salt cod fritters and steak were some of our favorites but there wasn t one dish we didn t love. The wine list was amazing and we were lucky enough to catch happy hour which included half off bottles of wine! Cocktail list was incredible too. Lots of fresh, cold pressed options. Service was friendly without being intrusive and everyone on staff seemed to be helping out. The owner and manager also stopped by to ask how everything was! Can t wait to be back!

Food was great. Everyone from the 2 year old to 5 and 8 year olds, to their parents and 70+ grandparents gobbled it up. Good Bloody Mary and mocktails. Impeccable service, and server and bartender went above and beyond by making a special request Margarita (in a large glass lots of lime juice, 1 oz simple syrup and 1 oz Cointreau, 1.5 oz tequila). Fairly spartan seating and tables well overshadowed by the food and service. The music wasnt too loud, but could have been a bit more on the sedate side, so as to not detract at all from the great meal.

This cute restaurant in the heart of Bishop Arts is a great place to grab small plates and clever cocktails made from fresh vegetable and fruit juices. The atmosphere is great, especially the patio, where the scenery and people-watching are excellent. Service is fun and laid-back, but extremely attentive. The menu can be a little hit or miss, with some items truly great (Scallion-Feta Dip, Focaccia, Pork Belly) and others quite forgettable (Kimchi Pancakes, NY Strip). This is still one of the better dining options in the area and a great place to enjoy a dinner on a nice night.

Dinner was incredible! We popped in to celebrate life and transitions and new chapters. Elizabeth, Adriana, Hailey and Brent were the best. The color scheme adorning the waitstaff and hosts was on point. Okay. So we took a tour of the sea. We started with the shrimp, swam to the hamachi and then floated over to the branzino and scallops. It was divine. We literally drank the broth the shrimp and avocado was dressed in. Total beasty mode on that one, could ve asked for a spoon but felt unnecessary. The pavlova was the literal cherry on top. Rhubarb, cherries, strawberries, light and airy meringuesque goodness. Everything was fresh, well dressed, seasoned and herbaceous. Great combo of healthy fats, delicious acid, just yum. Left feeling sated but light. Elizabeth was an incredible and friendly server and the overall vibe was as light and fresh as our meal. Excellent restaurant with changing menu. I have been twice and every bite has been good. Elizabeth waited on me most recently and made our dinner extra pleasant. Scallops were perfect. The branzino skin was perfectly crisped. The hamachi was excellent and a good portion of sashimi style fish. I tried the new Pavlova desert, it comes with cherries strawberries and rhubarb. The rhubarb is the star of the desert along with the pavlova itself, so light and airy.

A perfect gem in Bishop Arts! I met a friend here for the first time and was impressed by the diverse menu, the unique tastes of all the dishes we ordered, and especially the service by Samantha. She was warmly attentive and an excellent ambassador for the culinary experience offered here at Written by the Seasons! Vegetarian options: On the vegetarian side, we had the mushrooms and the feta dip with vegetables. There were plenty more vegetarian options to choose from and the rest of the dishes were so plant-forward that the kitchen would be able to easily modify a dish to exclude animal protein if desired. Dietary restrictions: Servers (Samantha, in our case) are diligent in seeking out any dietary needs of their patrons.

They were both such a breath of fresh air. The food was AMAZING! I got the pork chop and it is not your mother s pork chop. The BEST pork chop I have ever had. But I cannot stop thinking about the coconut braised baby carrots. Get them. Jojo surprised us with a dessert - warm ginger molasses cake with ice cream. Divine. 10/10. Not notes. Visited Dallas from Chicago and was recommended this place. The service is incredible! Haley and Jojo are nothing shy of amazing! Their hospitality and personality are a breath of fresh air. We were taken care of and had a great time. Definitely try the coconut carrots, steak, and warm ginger molasses snap cake (it will change your life!)
