This is one of my most favorite places to eat out at. There s not many places I trust to eat at here in Amarillo and this is one I can trust. The food as well as the service is very consistent. The girls that have been there for a while now are always really professional, helpful as well as kind. I definitely recommend this place.

Servers & Bartenders beware before applying! This family doesnt care if you are always on time, actually QUALIFIED for the job, and have never missed a shift! They sure will cut your hours to give to their nieces and nephews, that dont even have kids! This family literally took food out of my kids mouth to give to their own! Yosi the front of house manager will take tips from the new servers and put them in whoever name she wants. I saw my table hand her $5 for my tip and she put in another servers cup. That is also no longer employed there. I am not a scorned employee, just a mom also with a family to feed.

Our waiters name was Anthony today. Everytime we ve gone in all the waitresses have been great as well! Service was amazing. Food was amazing. Restaurant is clean. It was a little warm in temperature wise but majority of places are right now with this heat we are having. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our food, service and the whole experience as a whole. I had the Birria tacos and my wife had the caldo de rez. I also personally love the rice as well! Thank you Anthony and the entire Flamingos staff! They for sure deserve and earned our 5 star rating.

My husband and I ate lunch here July 20, 2024. We both ordered the birria tacos and were very pleased with how delicious all the components were. The chips and salsa were excellent, as well as the two sauces that come with the tacos. The beef consumme served with the birria tacos was the best weve ever tasted. I dont usually care for beans and rice typically served but theirs is absolutely delicious! My husband was surprised I ate them. Their Margarita was excellent as well. It was well balanced and not too tart/sour as most are. We will make this place a monthly date.

Well that was fantastic. Austin was a great help, very kind. Food was out of this world. One suggestion: stock some tequila reposado. Experts may say that theres no difference in margaritas, but when you have four different kinds of whiskey, you can make room for a fourth kind of premium tequila.

We LOVE the food. Hawaiian burger is a MUST. Delicious. All the food we have tried has been so unique and good. Amarillo needs a place like this. Good atmosphere, the service is great. Our first time here, weve been wanting to check it out for awhile. The Food was better than average, service was great. The atmosphere was good. But, the drinks were tasty, not much alcohol in them. Update (Oct 2023): We still find ourselves at Flamingos once or twice a month and its become one of my favorite, perhaps even my favorite, spot in Amarillo. Everything Ive had on the menu is beyond delicious and the service is always so friendly. Flamingos is a must-try restaurant for me. Tried Flamingos for Friday date night. We started with the fried cassava, which was light and crispy and came with a yummy mojo sauce. We went with the birria tacos and seafood moqueca (a Brazilian similar to coconut curry), both of which were fresh tasting, seasoned well, and generously portioned. We finished by sharing a slice of baroque burnt cheesecake. Service was excellent and our waitress made great recommendations based on what we were looking for. Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options. Parking: Plenty of free parking.

First I want to say we came in here with a big party. We didn t make reservations and they accommodated us as best as they could. There was one waitress and she was a rockstar. It did take a while to receive our food but they sent it all out at the same time so we could all eat together. It was hot and delicious. The owner came out and thanked us for the visit and also let us know we kicked his and his fathers butt that night haha. Very nice family business. Also the drinks were very good. Especially the Mexican candy drink! Give them a try. In my opinion you won t regret it.

Mexican, Latin, and Caribbean style offerings that werent complicated but were very delicious. Tacos, Mafongo, Seafood pairings, un poco de todo; a bit of everything. Good portions, service was great, the owner is a joy to visit with. Parking: Spaces next to the building and an open lot next to the main lot. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of different, yet basic, options for any picky kid. Wheelchair accessibility: Open seating at tables with plenty of space. Tables and chairs can be moved with ease if needed.

Delicious Latin food! My wife and I were looking for something different than the usual Mexican fare that the area is known for. We stumbled upon Flamingos and saw that had dishes that my wife hasnt had since she was a kid living in Florida. TOSTONES w/MOJO: Mashed and fried plantains. My wifes favorite appetizer that she had a lot of in her Cuban family. The Mojo was a nice mixture of garlic, onion, and vinegar MOFONGO with Skirt Steak: a Puerto Rican Green Plantain Mash.The meat was cooked perfectly and the plantain mixture had a ton of flavor. TAJADAS with Skirt Steak: Honduran Fried Green Banana which were nice and crispy! Again the skirt streak was perfect... Restaurants tend to under-flavor overcook skirt streak, but this was some of the best! MOJITO: Refreshing and delicious! Didnt taste too strong of alcohol but had great lime and mint flavor with a ring of lime & sugar in the rim. Everything came with chips and salsa which tasted very fresh. And the portions are really good! Well definitely be back to try more. Especially the dessert!

Don t walk, RUN to Flamingos!!!! I m one for trying new things and small independent restaurants. Saying I was impressed is an understatement!!! From Mexican to Puerto Rican and Moroccan. They absolutely blew us away! My amazing hair dresser Nancy Perez is the daughter of the owners and also bartended the night we went. She s a rockstar! She explained everything on the menu and answered any questions we had! I was craving birria tacos which we got and they were stunning! She also recommended the Caribbean style ceviche with fish and we had the seafood moqueca! I m telling you, my husband and I could not stop raving about how good EVERYTHING was!!! First time here, would definitely go back. I ordered a dish here that came out, looked great, but when I tasted it...it was way too spicy for me. I asked my waiter to get me a to-go box and a menu so I could order something else. He said he would take off the first order from the ticket without even thinking about it and was sorry it was too spicy. Totally not their fault about the spiciness, but was just too much for me. Anyway, I did tell him I would be paying for it and just wanted the box. He was helpful in suggesting something else on the menu that wasnt spicy at all. I settled on the mixed fajitas. Ok so, these were great. Seriously, they were tasty. They had mixed vegetables (most places are only onions now), tender chicken and steak, homemade tortillas (these are key). In all, I would definitely recommend based on this first experience.

This place is cool in that it isnt your typical standard mexican restaurant. They had one Puerto Rican dish and one Honduras dish. However, my barbacoa was kind of salty. The other people in my group also said that there food was salty as well. My friends are regulars and usually recommend me good places but it seems like Flamingos was having an off day. Might have been a new cook. Definitely check this place out if youre interested.

Great fajitas, and passable Caribbean food. Mofongo was a little greasy, but tasty. Will return, pretty classy or hip looking, for the Blvd. Tostones are good, but they need scotch bonnet sauce.

My husband and I had lunch there today. He had the enchilada plate. Which he loved said, it was the best enchiladas, he has had. I had the birria tacos. They were so, yummy! Awesome customer service and the place is so, clean. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Amazing! Great service, great chips and salsa, queso is good as well. Husband and I got the Birria tacos with cheese, 10/10!!! They were the best we have had ever. Juicy and cheesy, ugh just delicious. My son got the fish tacos and he could only eat one since they are so full of fish. He said they were very good. Definitely will be a new favorite!
