The atmosphere of this place is second to none and I WANT to like this place. But the servers both times I have tried this place have attitudes like no other. I wish I could specify who, but there wasn t even so much as a greeting with her name when she approached the table. We had a friend forget their id, so she said she couldn t serve him. Ok fair enough. No worries. But then for the next HOUR she walked around our table without touching base at all, not even for a two bite check back after we received our food to see how it was as going. We were going to order a whole dinner for three after our nachos as an appetizer, but decided to close out instead because I don t want to give my money to someone that doesn t even care enough to check back and see how things are going. 2/3 of us are in the service industry, we love to eat, drink and tip well, and this server missed out and missed the mark. After 2 times of traveling from Fort Worth specifically for this place, we won t return. It s not worth it.

Paid over $14 for one 12oz can of beer. When I looked at my ticket there was the beer I ordered and a Blue Moon. I said I didnt order a Blue Moon and only have one beer in front of me. Bartender said, thats just how we charge for that and walked away. This interaction seemed shady and left me unhappy with our visit. Will not be back.

I arrive to this bar and wait in line for 10 minutes to have the car valet parked. After doing so we were told it would be a 45 min wait to get in. They had the outside bar they offered to us to get drinks while we waited. Again I wait in line for 10 minutes. At which point I thought it was odd that no one had been carded at all; yet everyone outside was being served alcohol. Me and my friend both had bought one drink each. We sat down and drank our drinks while we waited to get into the main bar. When it was our turn to actually go inside; now they have the bouncers at the door check our I.D.s. meanwhile we both had already been served by the outside bar, along with the other 40 people at the outside bar who also hadnt been carded at all. I am from Wisconsin, my friend lives here in Texas; we both gave our I.D.s to a large mexican bouncer with flat brim hat. We were just about finished with our first drinks of the evening(the ones they had served us at their outside bar)and the bouncer looks at both our I.D.s and then gives them back saying we are too intoxicated. Mind you, this was our first drinks of the day, the bar itself had served them already without giving a damn about checking our I.D.s. My friend and I both thought that he was joking at first, and he continued to tell us we needed to leave and that we wouldnt be let inside the actual main bar. I was clearly upset, as we were not at all drunk and had done absolutely nothing wrong at all. I respected what he asked of us, and we left peacefully without any confrontation. I am still mind boggled as to why he wouldnt let us in. Was it because i was from Wisconsin? My friend said she had been there before and never had any issues like this. Either way; this was very unprofessional. I understand its at the bartenders desecration to serve or not serve anyone for any reason but I had to put my feedback out there in hopes that the owner of this establishment actually reads this review and corrects the issues that are clearly happening here. Yall are serving underagers outside for all you know and then bartenders seem to pick and chose who gets inside based off what? Where youre from? Who you are? What gender you are? Do better. #TexasBarsSuck Parking: Took awhile to actually get through the line initially and parked but retrieving the vehicle upon us leaving shortly after we arrived went very quickly and smoothly and the guys doing the valet were very respectful.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First of all food is overpriced for what they serve you. The service and bouncer was ridiculous to the point it felt racially targeted. All white place and the bouncer kept circling our table only. I came with three adults all over 21 and one forgot their ID and so he ordered water. When the waitress came around to ask for our drinks he said nothing because he didnt have his ID. mind you im 34 years old and we are all above drinking age yet he still drinks his water. bouncer circles our table endlessly and honestly at one point stands right behind us. He later comes up to us saying, be careful because the waitress is watching and we are watching and she is telling us to watch him accusing him of drinking. Now we are obviously really upset and ask for our check directly to the guy who seems to be the manager right away. Once we deliver the check back, the manager just crumbles up all the reciepts directly our faces with his fist like a sensitive child that doesnt know how to do his job properly like a real manager, speaking from a manager of a restaurant in dallas as well, this is unprofessional. This place is normally frequented by my friends and we all wont come here again. Worst experience Ive had in a dining/bar experience in dallas.

The waitresses at this restaurant routinely conduct credit card fraud buy inflating customer tips. The management staff is so unprofessional that they make resolving the fraud the lowest in their priority. I heard from a former employee that the restaurant doesnt even report tips so that they will have a lower employment taxes obligation. This company must be audited for tax evasion of Medicare tax, Medicaid tax, and Social Security tax.

This company defends the credit card fraud conducted by the waitresses. They also implement discrimination towards men demanding them to cough up a credit card in order to be waited upon. If the waitresses feel they deserve a larger tip than you give them a fraudulently charge it to your credit card. Management staff defends them. The restaurant owner doesnt care to resolve the issue. This establishment will be reported and recommended for audit.

This is my happy place when I visit Dallas! Perfect for a sunny day with a group of friends to chill. Jill s service is attentive and friendly so try to sit in her section. Kid-friendliness: Kids can run free here. Just set them loose and hope they find their way back to the correct picnic table. Wheelchair accessibility: Seems mostly flat and accessible. Drop off area looks open and easy. The surface is loose dirt/gravel so that may be a factor to consider for certain mobility devices. I will say it s pretty open inside e so likely easy to navigate.

As a Dallas visitor, I m pretty disappointed to see how poorly this staff treated the LGBT community in this day and age. I wore a simple sleeveless shirt, and was immediately told we couldn t enter. Behind us, there were plenty of girls wearing tank tops that were let in. This felt like intentional discrimination, despite the girls behind us revealing way more skin than us (which shouldn t be an issue regardless). We will not be coming back and do not recommend it to anyone.

I live across the street and it has such a fun vibe; its the easy choice for food and drinks. The atmosphere is unmatched in its uniqueness...and dont the servers know it. After coming to the Ice House around 25 times heres my summary: I love the food and drinks, I really really love the Texas atmosphere with the outdoors seating and the outlaw country music, but the service can get pretty lackadaisical. There are some great individuals, but in general it feels like the servers know its going to be busy and theyll get great tips without putting in a lot of per-table effort. Ive gone 30 minutes without being checked on, and then they get annoyed if you go up to the bar! It can definitely feel disorganized at times.

I have never left a review on anything before but I went to dinner here tonight and sat in the back of the patio, our server had dark hair pulled back into a bun. I had told my date I was going to leave the tip after he paid (I m a server myself so I like to make sure the server is tipped properly when I m out). When our server came back and asked him if he needed change she borderline yelled at him saying she needed a better tip, not knowing that I was going to leave cash on the table when we left. It was extremely rude. The margaritas were good and it was a super cute restaurant. I just could not believe how she spoke to my date!

Good location,Terrible service.Becky ruins the entire vibe. Waited 25+ minutes for her to come to greet us. We went to the Bar to grab our drinks as it was already over 35 minutes. We sat down with our drinks, Becky comes up and gives us a last warning not to order from the bar and if we did she would kick us out as she had better customers on the waiting list to serve(her exact words). Becky, if you re reading this, if you maybe checked upon us, there wouldn t be a reason for us to go to the bar! Not to mention the minimum 20% gratuity. I usually tip 20%+ but not with that attitude. 0/10 for you Becky!

I just want to preface that I have never once written a review but I feel inclined after the rude service I just experienced. We were visiting from out of town and came for a beer and some food. It started out as a great place with awesome outdoor space and a good atmosphere. That very quickly changed when a thunderstorm rolled in and it started absolutely down pouring. That wasn t the issue however- the issue was that the rude staff would not let us take cover inside unless we had a table. We wanted to keep drinking and enjoying our time but they obviously did not want our money as we were chased around by the bouncer in the inside area and told we needed to go outside because we didn t have a table even tho there was a full bar and plenty of space. Not to mention, we did in fact have a table but it was no longer an option because of the dangerous weather. We were told standing inside was dangerous because we were blocking the exit(we were not at all in front of the exit) what??? So standing outside in thunder and lighting isn t dangerous? Do not go here.

The reason why this place is getting a low rating is because of the extremely rude and unfriendly host at the front. There is an older gentlemen who acts more like a club bouncer than as the host of a restaurant. I ve been to the Katy Ice House at least 5 different times with my family on a Saturday for lunch and every time this man is there and he is unbelievably rude and impatient not just to me but to other guests before me as well. It baffles me that management/ownership would put such an incorrigible person at the front serving as the face of the establishment, especially when the rest of the staff is so friendly and respectful. The food is great, the atmosphere is fun and lively, and the servers I ve had have been amazing. However, I just get so put off by this guys behavior that it ruins the whole dining experience. One of my favorite places in Dallas. The service is always excellent, its in a great part of town where you can just take a quick break from your walk or you can stop to eat. Our favorite appetizer is the loaded cheese fries, followed by the ice house quesadillas (brisket, chicken, and beef are all great!) For burgers, the Hangover Burger with fried egg or the Jalapeno Jack Burger are our main stays. And then from the grill we like the Poblano Chicken Sandwich. All the food has been fantastic though and you cannot go wrong. Always have to hit this place when we visit Dallas! Parking: If you can find a spot great, if not, theres a park a little ways away that you can find plenty of parking at and then walk about half a mile to the place!

If you haven t been you haven t lived!! Its pricey. Expect $20-30 per person as each menu item averages at $18 plus any beers you order so it ll add up. It s worth every penny. Used to go every time I ran the Katy trail Parking: It s valet parking on Routh St. Unless you walk to it. It s on the Katy Trail.

Thanks for being consistently rude. Been going here for years but no more. Staff and waitstaff have gone down hill in a serious way. Today they were straight up Aholes. Why there are 8 people standing at the front, texting and talking on their phones instead of greeting and welcoming customers is pretty insane. The rest of staff have bad attitudes and that look on their face of sour beer. No thanks!! Hard pass, spend your time and money where they appreciate you as a customer. And as standard practice I m not going to establishments that feel the need for bouncer type security in general but at 10:30 in the morning on a Saturday when more than half the place is empty is not a good look and feels sketch.

Used to enjoy coming after a run on Katy trail to grab food . For some reason they decided my running tank was no longer acceptable for an outdoor patio restaurant next to a running trail. Rules are fine ,but if you are going to let others who are wearing sports bras and tanks into the establishment, then at least try to keep it fair across the board.

Make up your mind about the sleeves shirt policy. Some days you allow it and other days you don t. FYI it s a stupid policy for an outdoor establishment. Also your food and service has gone down hill. I went during happy hour, ordered your onion rings appetizer and only received three onion rings opposed to the 6 during the normal hours. After questing my order, the waiter then informs me that that s correct for happy hour, so you re telling me that happy our is half the price and half the food???? That s not a happy hour.

Honestly the food is overpriced and is not portioned well. My boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed in the nachos as there were only 6 tortilla chips on the plate. Furthermore, we tried the pecan pie which was clearly store bought. A single slice of pecan pie was $10 and it was incredibly disappointing! save your money and go somewhere better to watch the game and eat food that s worth paying for.

Whats going on with this place? Katy Ice used to be my favorite spot in Dallas, but lately the service has been terrible. The other night, I went with a group of friends and the girl who was serving us had a really bad attitude from the get-go. At one point, we ordered a cider and a beer, and she clearly misunderstood and brought us 2 ciders. We pointed out the mistake, and her attitude was extremely rude. She called us liars even though the 2 ciders were right there on the table... then she aggressively told us we had to leave, took the order away, and later brought the bill, CHARGING US FOR THE DRINK SHE JUST TOOK AWAY. We asked to speak with the manager but they never showed up. Instead, 2 security guards came, refused to give their names, and told us we had to leave, refusing to refund the money for the extra drinks they charged us for. While this was happening, the waitress was behind them laughing and making gestures at us (clearly she has some sort of social issue). Ive been reading the latest reviews and a lot of people are upset about the service. If the owner of this place reads these comments, please do something about it and dont let it become a hostile bar for people. Tomorrow well be calling to demand to speak with the manager to ask for a refund and file a formal complaint against the waitresss violent behavior and the hostile attitude of the security staff.

Me and 5 guys came here to just grab a beer after dinner. The rules of not standing while at a table outside mind you, and the waitress voicing her annoyance because we bought beers at the bar top rather than at the table inside the bar was insane to all of us. We re between the ages of 33 and 50 years old. Half way through our first beer the bouncer came over and said we had to leave. I ve never been kicked out of a bar and never seen it happen while everyone was stone cold sober. I ve never been so disrespected at an establishment. I wish nothing more than this bar to fail so I can have a well deserved beer upon its ashes. Do not go here. Whatever you do.

We happily waited for over 2 hours outside the parking lot where we enjoyed good conversation and lots of laughs. I m a mom who rarely gets the chance to get out and have a good time so when we were told that our group was too intoxicated to gain admission I was at a loss for words. We waited in the Parking lot in plain sight of the security guards and waitresses (NO DRINKS INVOLVED) You can imagine how extremely disappointed I was that my first night out on the town with my sisters, since my two children were born, was completely destroyed. How do not know when I will get the chance to get this time to myself with my sisters again so really disappointed. Even more than that, I m completely astonished that they saw us sitting there the entire time and only told us two hours later once we received the text for admission that we We re apparently too intoxicated to come in. If you are willing to wait in line, just be cautious not to laugh or be too animated as they might turn you away. Chances likely are they gave out table to someone else and instead of owning it they came up with an absolutely absurd excuse to turn us away.

This place has the worst service of any place I ve ever been. We waited for two hours happily as we had heard good things. They then informed us we were too drunk to enter. None of us had anything to drink we were simply talking and joking around outside. When asking who in the party was too intoxicated we were given no answer and the hostesses were so unbelievably rude. Apparently the order came from security but were never approached. Coming from the service industry I would never treat a guest with such disrespect and reckless abandon for people s time. I will advise my large social media following to steer clear of this sorry excuse for a bar/ restaurant.

Dont come here with kids. Pics online look like a nice open outdoor seating area where kids could wander a bit. We made the mistake of choosing this place based on those pics without doing more homework. Upon arrival we were greeted by a large sign that reads children must remain seated. We did our best but, despite being in a totally empty corner of the outdoors area, we ended up getting politely reminded by the staff 3 separate times about this policy. I get it, kids can be annoying. Just didnt expect them to be this strict during a mostly dead early lunch. Should have just left when we saw the sign. Food was mid.

My partner and I were regulars here and enjoyed the vibes despite the mediocre food and drinks. However, we went around 9pm on Saturday, April 6th 2024 and had the rudest waitress I have ever encountered. We were told it was open seating but every open table had not been cleaned. After 10 minutes of standing near one, my partner and I decided to clean the table off as best we could and moved the two margarita glasses someone left to the side. We d had this happen before with no issues. We were seated in the area outside behind the bathrooms when a blonde waitress asked do y all need drinks? We said yes that would be awesome we just got here and she muttered don t know why you d sit at a dirty table before stalking away. When she returned, I asked her if we needed to move to a different table and she said my people can t bus the table with you sitting here. I said oh, sorry we didn t know. She then gave some kind of psychotic laugh and said in the most condescending tone imaginable, oh, baby, this is a reeesteraaaunt. At that point, I asked for a manager, even though I hate doing that, but honestly felt kind of threatened by how unhinged she was behaving (also getting into our space and very angrily grabbing stuff around us). Told the manager what happened and he just said oh she calls everyone baby even me. Told him it wasn t that she called me baby it was her whole insane attitude. The manager would not look me in the eyes and would not apologize, so we just left and will not be back. It s a shame because we d had good experiences before. Just one psychopath waitress that makes you feel threatened and one incompetent and seemingly whipped manager and it s ruined. I write this because any place that hires people with that little self-control does not deserve customers.

When we asked for a table for 2 and a high chair the older man at the podium said no high chairs (as I m holding my baby) and almost smiled like he was pleased to tell me that? So our baby had to sit on our laps. The waitress was having some kind of drama with another waitress and swearing just feet away from us as we ate. When we got our car from the valet, as I m putting the baby in her car seat a valet driving another car behind us honked at me to hurry. Love KT but I guess don t bring your kids. Disappointed. We brought our own plates and knives. So we declined to cut it at the table and said we would just let her take it home. They would not allow us to keep it at the table, even though it was boxed and sealed. They wanted us to put it in the car. I think the general manager needs a, customer service 101.
