The Virgin Hotel here in Dallas isn t particularly large, but the restaurant, Commons Club, is well-suited to its size. I enjoyed a late lunch featuring crispy rice salmon bites, and a cheddar bacon cheeseburger, along with some refreshing libations.

This was our first time dining at Commons Club and everything was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive and very nice. My wife had the snapper and I had the shrimp dish. Both were excellent and were nicely portioned. I wanted to get the snapper but it came atop a hash which included pork. I dont eat pork or beef. My only negative about the meal is that I would have liked another option for something to go with the snapper.

I loved everything about this place. From the time you walk in there are gentlemen holding the door open for you to enter in & out as you go to the Virgin Hotels main door. The aesthetics in the place was so beautiful bright colors. Everything was placed in a way where you can take so many pictures it just makes you feel very sexy as a lady maybe out on a date or even girls night or even just happy hour time. Definitely a vibe. Food was amazing as well. I had their short rib that literally came right off the bone. We ordered the charcuterie board to share and OMg, everything was fresh on there and the fact that they give you honeycomb along with their bread was top notch. If you re a bread lover like me, you re gonna ask for bread to go like I did. Also, there were no complaints on our drinks. We had the best time celebrating one of our sisters birthdays .so yes, it is definitely place. I would return back!!

I had a terrible experience at this place. Despite their claim of offering brunch, the lack of a lunch menu was disappointing. The Cesar salad was terrible, the burger, was disappointingly greasy. Service was a notable issue as well; our waiter exhibited rudeness, exacerbating our already negative experience. Waiting 45 minutes for a burger further compounded our dissatisfaction. For those seeking a pleasant dining experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

$75/person for a Mother s Day brunch was way overpriced. Stale cinnamon rolls and pastries. Tea sandwiches with dried bread. Shrimp and grits were decent. The bagel bar was cute, but same problem, dry bread and unexciting bagel quality. Of course the atmosphere was gorgeous. Getting a flower and cookies was nice. But my family of 5 paid $400+ dollars for a barely nicer than an Embassy Suites hotel breakfast buffet. To top it off we were being rushed by the waiter because they did 1.5 hr long blocks to get the next wave of overpaying customers in. My suggestion - don t do buffet style. Let people order. We made the best of it but I wish we had stayed at home.

Btw he came out and check on us and the guy is super humble and very pleasant to talk to. Ohhhh and the service was amazing I cant remember everyones name but Aloria was great representation of what a service staff should be like. The girl always had a smile on her face. She was very attentive to my food allergies concern. This was by far an excellent experience.

My husband and I have been to the Commons Club three times and with this being our 3rd time expected great food and service. Unfortunately we did not receive that. We paid $150 for sub par food. There were so many issues! We were told it was a new menu and were excited to try it. The portion sizes were small even though we were told by our waitress the sharable of the shrimp and grits were enough for 2 people. It was barely enough for one plus it had prawns not shrimp in it. We thought maybe the main meal would be better as we were told wed get a wing and thigh or breast and the roasted chicken would be a good size. This meal came out sloppy and we had two small chicken wings comparable to wing stop. On top of that the chicken was pale and had gristle and fatty pieces all over. We were also asked at the beginning what kind of water we wanted but had no idea wed be charged $14 for sparkling water. At a pricey restaurant that should be complimentary. We are extremely upset that we drove 50 min from Argyle for this. It really put a damper on our date night which we only get to do ever so often since we have children. Smh

I wanted to take my daughter out for her birthday to a special place in Dallas with great food, service and great photo opps. Choosing Commons Club was the right choice! We had the most incredible service from Diondré, who went above and beyond to keep us happy and even brought a special dessert to help us celebrate. I cannot say enough great things about the food - we didnt need to eat again until 3pm (and ate here at 9am!). Portions were perfect and filling, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Diondré mentioned the entire menu has been updated - and the Snapper is absolute FIRE so check it out! *Note that current menu photos are likely outdated at this point. I cant wait to go back!

On Entry: The dining room has a nice relaxed-chic atmosphere with warm lighting, very comfortable seating, plush fabrics, and low ambient music. Hostesses are friendly, welcoming, and attentive when you walk up. Menu: a bit more lavish and adventurous than I would usually prefer in terms of choices for dinner but there are fun and unique options available for a special night out. Even though it s a bit outside of my usual pick for a weeknight, it s still a strong 5-stars for me here because the food was exquisite on every plate they brought out. I couldn t resist taking a piece of cheesecake (with ice cream!) home with me and it was delicious as well. Staff & Service: My waiter was Jesse and he was absolutely top-notch from start to finish. He came to the table promptly when I sat down, provided personal recommendations from the menu and explained some of the more ornate dishes to me in detail to help me decide on something I d enjoy, he came by to check in just enough, and overall made my experience a very positive one. The flow of the dinner service is a bit relaxed (not slow) so if you re in a hurry I d recommend bringing it up right away when you sit down. Parking: Valet is super quick and friendly but pricey, and there is little to no self parking available nearby. General Observations: - This may not be the best venue for little ones because the menu is limited to more elaborate dishes with unusual flavors and ingredients. - The process appears to be largely undefined for Virgin gift card use in the restaurant. Wait staff and management alike seemed perplexed by how to navigate the redemption.

The service we received here was terrible. We put in our drink orders, and waited a while to receive them. Then I ordered food and we never saw our waiter again until he came and dropped off the checks without even asking. The drink was good and I was ready to order another one guess not! On top of this, I was fined $87 DOLLARS for a parking ticket. I get that not paying for my parking spot is on me, honest mistake I didn t see it, but $87 is RIDICULOUS for a parking ticket at a hotel parking lot. Safe to say I will not be coming back nor will I recommend this place.

Commons Club is located inside the Virgin Hotel in the Design District of Dallas. Some of my friends and I went for a girls night out to check out their Christmas pop-up shop. The decor was wonderful and the holiday themed drinks were good. I had a spiked hot chocolate, cranberry champagne, and a nice shot. We also tasted the fries and salsa. They were okay. Overall we had a decent time but, I don t think the experience was worth the $16-20 cover fee (when there s several other holiday pop-ups for free in the area). The music could ve been better too. The total spent was about $50. I d go back but not for this particular pop-up. Parking: The best option is valet. You may get lucky and find street parking but there s so much road construction that it made it difficult.

I really paid $16 cover to go to this Christmas pop up to drink themed drinks which was an espresso martini with a candy cane on it for $18. Drinks were weak, especially the ornamintini tasted like some kind of juice. No dj, no music, just soft Christmas-y piano music played quietly over the speakers. If youre finding this place based on the tik tok advertisements just know the vibe is nothing like the video. Then to top it off we try to check out and they would only split the check between 2 cards for a party of 8, then we try to pay cash and they said cash is not accepted. The manager apologized and said the website shouldve said it on the event site, but acknowledged it didnt. And a $35 service charge on our tab for what? It wasnt an included gratuity thats for sure. Ive done Christmas pop ups every year and have been excited to go to the Virgin after saying Id try it since the opening, but this was not it. No vibe. And I can think of 10 different cocktail lounges in the area Id rather go to for a higher end experience.

Expect an extremely ghetto crowd, young servers who could care less about service, food thats sounds good although super underwhelming while being overly expensive. The wife an I enjoy Caymus although they will always be out of or just ran out of literally everything. Our server David was just terrible, constantly on his phone, food came out late and incorrect by the time dessert came the manager (some disgusting guy named Kyle who was worse than our server) stopped by to drop off drinks that definitely were another tables then upon being corrected went to 2 other tables with thise drinks before they found the correct location. Talk about a loud, gross crowd my lord. This place is one of the worst in Dallas, try Dee Lincoln Prime in Frisco or Capital Grille off legacy stay away from this dumpster fire. It will ruin whatever special night you have planned and youll pay for it. Sincerely, Never Again

Went here for a special brunch celebration recently. A lot for the eyes to see, must be for the very young as the 3am club music was bumping at 1 pm. The water on the table smelt like a wet dog. The food I ordered didnt mention sauce, so Im really glad I didnt get sick. I ordered because it had the gluten free mark, however, glutonians do NOT like food surprises. Server was fantastic, even with the guaranteed 20% for the large party. He definitely deserves praise. I wont go back there, but Im not saying you shouldnt. I didnt get sick. I had the Brisket Hash. Not impressed. Dietary restrictions: Has a small selection of Gluten Free items on the Brunch menu. Noted, no special menu needs to be requested.

Trust me when I say this. There is nothing common about the Commons Club restaurant. They should call it Kings Arthur Club, because thats how I felt as I was there. With no exaggeration, the food was so delicious. Every thing was fabulous. I started off with the Charcuterie Board, then the Burrata Bread for starters. Then we coasted to the Salmon Chop which had to be one of the best salmons Ive ever had. We finished the meal with the Tropical Paradise and the deconstructed carrot cake. The carrot cake was my favorite because it had small bites of bacon. On a quick note, our server Sophia was simply the best. She made the evening super special with her smile and personality. Commons Club gets a A Plus in my book.

When I requested a stake knife I received it dirty. On top of me receiving a dirty stake knife. The waiter tried to convince me to keep it. I felt offended, it was simple, go get a clean one. To be honest with you all of our stake knifes are like that. I cant remember his name i know he has or had one earing. Might of missed placed his earing. I had to remind this guy that I was not willing to accept their dirty stake knife. At that point I had zero trust in their hygiene. I couldnt believe it! It s $75 per person for the buffet which compares to a FREE simple hotel breakfast the food was barely warm, the deviled eggs looked a day old and the food was just so eh. For $75 I expect better, our bill was $325 for 3 people and 2 drinks and included gratuity for a waitress who barely even served us and we had empty mimosas for most of the brunch .. it was pathetic. They labeled it brunch but still don t get what made it brunch, maybe the dry flavorless salmon who knows. Anyway don t waste your time or money here it s not worth it.

I attended yesterday to celebrate my sisters birthday for brunch. this restaurant is located inside the virgin hotel. You can access both from the outside and / or through the lobby and Cafe indoors. There is street parking and / or paid parking lots available within walking distance. If you want to valet, you can pull upfront, and they will provide u with a ticket. I know most of the reviews say that valet is not validated. However, when I asked how I could pay for it, our waiter told us they would validate our valet ticket. I was pleasantly surprised considering everyone in the reviews has stated this is not an option, also considering that the weekend valet is $20. So if u decide to come and eat, just ask them to validate your valet, I think the venue did listen to everyones concerns and is now doing this. The interior of the venue is super cute, theres lots of spots to take photos perfect for the Gram throughout. Some of their seating is super comfy in the dinning area, my only take back were the white stool chairs, they are not big people or short people friendly for dinning purposes, however their slightly shorter blue teal chairs were super comfy along with their booths. The staff was super nice and friendly and very accommodating, we had a big party of 10 people and our food and drinks came out in a timely matter, we did not have any issues with our orders at all. I personally had the chicken and waffles, I only had a cup of coffee and water with my brunch. However, some of the others in our party did partake in the brunch drinks, and they all loved their cocktails. The brunch menu has lots of different options for everyone, from pancakes to charcuterie and pancake boards to vegan and vegetarian options. The drink menu is also extensive, and theres options for everyone, including caffeinated cocktails. The venue also has a full service bar within the dining area but also to the side with some lounge sections for those who want to sit down and relax. Upon asking for our check we received ours right away, we were never rushed during our stay and never waited for anything, our waiter was very much on top of things and kept up with our large party. After brunch was over, the staff was nice enough to take a few photos of our party before everyone left. Some of us stayed back to take pics within the venue and the lobby. Overall, I had a great experience, I would definitely come back again, it has a really good atmosphere. The music is not overwhelmingly loud, and u can have a conversation without having to raise your voice across the table.

They came over and sat with us for 15-20 mins while we waited for our bill and finished our drinks. The server decided to add 20% auto-gratuity since we now have 6 people. They just sat there for 15 mins and had water. I normally tip 25% but this server chose greed so she just got her 20%. I will not out her but management should use discretion before entitling a server to auto-gratuity.

The hotel is really cute. The aesthetic is very eclectic and whimsical which was very fun for photo ops. When we went into the restaurant itself the vibe was a bit dead but could have been because we went on a Sunday evening after typical dinner hours. I think this is a nice place for an intimate date night but I would honestly just go for drinks. The food was okay, it was a bit overpriced for the amount you get and the quality. The service was really good. Our waiter Jeremy was on it and he took great care of us. I would say go eat somewhere first and end the evening at the Commons Club bar for a romantic and quiet vibe if you go on a Sunday evening like we did.

I am jealous of the beautiful food that I see on the reviews bc my food was anything but beautiful or delicious. Nice place ambiance wise but the music was too loud. We had reservations and had to wait about 30 mins to be seated. It took us another 20 mins to get our drinks and 30 more minutes to get our food. I ordered a medium well center cut fillet and truffle fries. My steak came out first and by the time my fries came out. I was done with my steak. My steak was burnt well done. It had already taken so long to get our food and I dont like sending food back, so I swallowed the meat. I was NOT impressed with my meal nor the price. I feel like they cooked my food like cooks (not chefs bc a chef would never send a steak out like that) who simply did not want to be at work. I am highly disappointed bc I wanted to try the restaurant based on what I saw on Tik Tok. For the price, I wouldnt go again. My overdone burnt steak pic is attached to this review. Oh and those are mushrooms in some sort of greasy sauce. Yeah...very well presented plate.

Celebrated my birthday dinner here and regretted it. Service and food were mediocre. The chicken was served with blood coming out of it and the manager said it was because of the cooking technique that they use. They also have a $3.50 cake cutting fee that applies to each person in your party if you bring in your own birthday cake. The pasta I ordered was as dry as the Sahara and so was the energy of the server.

Lol cant split a bill!? Its 2022 get your **** together. You dont charge everyone in the restaurant under the same bill so you have the power to separate checks by table but for some reason refuse to use that same function to separate checks when people are at the same table. Come on management make it easier for the servers and customers and have a process to separate checks since you are clearly capable.

Food is fairly average, although tartare was raved about. For the prices of some menu items it is below average. I had the Delmonico steak at $88 and added Oscar and a side of Chimichurri. The steak was extra fatty (too much for high quality steak. I pay less than that for steaks that are 10 times better cuts of meat at steakhouses in Dallas. The Oscar was on top of the steak but was more of a shredded crab meat than lump and the line cook dumped Chimichurri on top of it. I was told the chef did that. No chef would ever do that. Others at the table ordered steaks and all were over cooked but the service had been so miserably slow we we just wanted to eat. All 3 suggested cocktails were sent back because they were so bad or made incorrectly. The wine ordered to replace those cocktails took 10 minutes to get and 1 was forgotten and we never got it. 4 appetizers ordered, received 1 and then maybe 7 minutes later the other. 15 minutes later we had to ask about the other two. Received another and the last never came. After entrees were delivered, the last appetizer showed up. We didnt even think of desserts at this rate. Topper was being charged for the 3 drinks and wine that never came. Waiter actually told us after he ran my card and then said do you want me to actually void it and take those off? ...no I want to pay for the items we never got!! This is not on par with any of Dallass fine dining redtaurants or steakhouses but trys to be in prices only. Food was 2.5 to 3 stars service was definitely a 1 star.

Great experience! Great food! Wonderful customer service. It was my first time to eat at this location. Although it was late and very busy, the food came out in a timely fashion. I got the salmon. There was no bread that came with the meal, so I requested some bread. It was perfectly buttered. After chilling out for a moment, I got dessert. It was some kind of apple pastry that was absolutely delicious! I went on a Saturday night so it was a little vibrant and plenty of individuals from all walks of life. The DJ was playing some good sounds as well.

So every 1st and 3rd sunday is drag queen brunch. Two shows one at 12 and one at 2pm. The show is ok. There was 4 singers and a full 2hr show. The food is limited but plenty of drinks. There are 3 areas you pay for but when there you pay for premium but the performers spent more time at the kitchen end of the seating area. So you pay $30, to $75 for where you sit. I paid $75 for three of us and barley saw the performers. Then when you want to tip the performers they dont let you place it on them they just take it from your hand. So in comparison to other shows I have seen this was ok but I wont go back again. There is only valet parking available that cost $20 before any tip. Parking: Valet only

Overall I enjoyed my experience at the Commons Club and would return for the food alone!! Alright here is the breakdown... Parking: A nightmare...valet was full and it took 15 minutes to get out of that area and back to the area right next door for self parking. Self parking was $11 bucks Seating: All parties have to be present to be seated Food: Meatballs, Duck and Sea Bass were Absolutely Delicious with the exception of that cheesecake. I never had a cheesecake that tasted burnt. The sauce and were good, the outside was horrible. Service: Great service...our waitress was nice. I would certainly suggest visiting this location as you will enjoy your time.

Won t attempt to visit this restaurant again. On Easter Sunday my friends and I had a reservation scheduled for brunch. We were running a few moments late and attempted to call and notify the restaurant. No one answered- so we continued on. Upon arrival- a manager by the name of Sunny was extremely rude and unwelcoming. She basically yelled at us saying we were too late to be seated. I understand a strict late policy- especially on a busy Sunday and am fine with the answer being no . What I m not okay with is the amount of disrespect and unprofessionalism displayed by a manager. Not only did she yell at us in this way- she proceeded to do the same to the customers in front of us and to the servers near the front. I m not exactly sure why Virgin Hotels is okay with her being the face of their restaurant with that attitude. Absolutely will not be back.

A Fraudulent Tip Charge Was Made On My Transaction From 3/26. My tip was altered an additional $30. On 3/29 after the transaction posted I spoke with the Manager Anna who initially took my call, offered a refund and was supposed follow-up on the issue. Same day she did return my call and left a voicemail confirming she was able to locate my transaction issue and asked how I d like to proceed. When I called back I could not reach anyone, so I left a message. My call was never returned.. I called again on 3/30 and 3/31, no answer, so I left voice messages again. Still no response. Tried a second time on 3/31, and and spoke with another manager as Anna is off this day. Again my information was taken to be followed up with and that never happened. Today I ve proceeded to dispute this issue with my bank. However, I am very disappointed at the unprofessional and unethical practices that took place, in addition to the lack of concern or do diligence shown by management. I won t be returning. Check you receipts and keep your copy, they clearly condone an environment of theft and deception at the Commons Club..

First off - no valet validation and they charge you $20 for valet. That was the first star taken off. Second star taken off was the drinks - they were overpriced and underwhelming. My old fashion wasn t even made correctly. The 3rd star taken off was for the food .the quality and value is lacking. You pay a lot for a small, underwhelming meal that leaves you still hungry and $50 out. I had the duck which was severely undercooked to the point where it was chewy, & I had to spit most of it out ..and it was tasteless. Skin was not crispy like it s supposed to be. I ve had better $10 duck at a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Their menu is also extremely small. Note to the head chef - if the menu is THIS small, ensure the food is up to par. I ve since read many reviews about the food being tasteless and overpriced so maybe the chef should take note. No wonder they had open reservations last minute on a Friday night. The only reason they get 2 stars was for the ambience and the music - vibe is really cool here so it was disappointing the restaurant didn t live up to it.
