Although there weren t as many artifacts as other Holocaust museums I have visited, the content and presentation of the history was clear and powerful. I love how the tour stars with an overview of Jewish history since Biblical time as well as defining up-standers and bystanders. Also, Bruce, the museum docent, was very kind and helpful. He showed me several key features of the exhibit and highlighted some of the stories. Having visited several Holocaust museums in the country and having learned much of the history, I was still able to learn new information and survivors accounts. Definitely worth a visit!

It was informative however only one floor dedicated to real Holocaust artifacts. I didnt like the fact that you have to start by watching a video. That seemed like a waste of time. You are strongly encouraged to go in a group with a guide. Would have taken almost all day to go through the museum had I done that. It was very difficult to find. Theres signage on the side of the building but you have to walk all the way around to get in. They do have many discounts for students and seniors. You must park in a paid parking lot. There is no on the street parking.

Phenomenally curated museum with expertly designed exhibits. Give yourself multiple hours to take in as much as you can from this museum. I cant say it will be fun but they have crafted a poignant and reflective experience that will help you to learn and grow as a person. What to expect when visiting the museum: The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum will walk you through time to understand the historical background from which the Holocaust came to be. Following that is the main displays covering the atrocities of Holocaust and highlighting victims and upstanders (those who stood up against the persecution). Following the Holocaust exhibits is an artistically fascinating and informative exhibit which walks you through the stages of a genocide through the lens of many historical examples. And lastly is a room dedicated to upstanders from local civil rights struggles and a call for you to stand for what is right.

The people complaining about this museum and mentioning that you have to read are people who came here for entertainment and completely missed the point. For the admission ticket, you get access to a real digital IMAX video presentation that is perfect to set the mood. If you want value for money then there you go. Watch the IMAX presentation and keep the change. The holographic room is not just a gimmick, it is truly cutting edge and we were very fortunate that the young man running the device is very into it, and has sincere love for all the characters. I plan on going every week just to meet all the survivors in their holographic form. The reflection room is somber, so somber I was unable to be there for more than a minute, and I feel ashamed for it. I will go back to pay my respects. Every exhibit is carefully curated, and carefully presented, you can feel a presence, an uncomfortable presence at that. Getting inside the train wagon And I think that being uncomfortable is part of the experience. One should feel this when dealing with such deep troubles and ever-living maladies of the human experience. The only bad experience I got is that the EV section was turned into a section for reserved parking, I think it was originally intended as an eco-friendly solution that devolved into a VIP. Added to this, the only EV charger is broken. It would have been great to get my car charged while we visited, but unfortunately, it is not so. But that is just nitpicking at this point, because the main point of the museum is extremely well executed and once again, in the name of my entire family that consists of two young women and my wife, I want to thank the creators of this place.

This is the only Holocaust museum Ive been to, so I dont know how it compares to others. We came here about four years ago and I believe it was in the building to the south, or otherwise it was arranged differently. The previous arrangement was better in most ways in my opinion. We got held up a few frustrating minutes waiting on an elevator that was apparently broken with no sign to let one know it was broken. We were basically at the start of the tour route they want you to take and faced with videos, to include cartoon videos, depicting the history of Abraham. So, keep in mind at this point that the facility has billed itself as a Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. I think the museums main purpose of focus on the Holocaust will gradually be diluted and one day there will be sections for Palestinians, Tigrays, Ukrainian Holodomor, Indonesian communists, Armenians, Kurds, the Balkans, Native Americans, etc - which is fine - just drop the Holocaust part of the name and call it the Human Rights Museum. To me - and, Im not Jewish - the Holocaust is one of the most significant events in history for understanding of genocide and ethnic cleaning level murder. The previous layout seemed more easily self-guided. I felt I needed a tour guide to navigate this set up. At the end there were videos I didnt watch - just like the cartoons about Abraham - with teenagers talking in Nickelodeon fashion about genocide. I recommend the museums executives focus on impact and presenting the significance of the Holocaust. I think theyre trying to make the situation more relatable and presenting more holistic views and deeper understanding of more aspects, like the propaganda, marginalized life in ghettos, etc., but in some ways it seemed to get too into the weeds. Perhaps highlight every 15 minutes and/or at different sections a key theme such as Approximately 6 million Jews all over Europe and beyond were systematically hunted down or rounded up and eventually murdered with the plainly understood mission to completely eradicate or annihilate the entire race and the history of its existence from the face of the earth. To me, this needs to be a singular building block for humanism thought. When people leave this museum, I want them to feel sick, utterly disgusted, and soul-crushed. THEN we can entertain more discussion on human rights and other scenarios. And then, perhaps, forge the path forward to ensure all things like this never happen again. The staff are very nice. Parking nearby ($10-12/day) has always been easy, by the way, and there are several other attractions nearby.

Minus the tedious paperwork (assignment that we had to fill out at turn in for a grade), I was really invested in the information provided. The tour guides were helpful and the way the building was layed out made everything suspenseful and enjoyable in my opinion. The way the story of the Holocaust was told with both video and described by the tour guide made me feel emersed to the point where I totally forgot about the assignment that we were supposed to fill out for a grade Im not much of a history typa person so I was shocked with how impressed I was with this place and what they had to offer. The part of the museum that deals with the Holocaust is really touching and stands out from other museums because it is broken down into individual countries and their respective involvement in the whole madness. The human rights part, on the other hand, shows that the Americans still have a lot of work to do in dealing with their own grievances. But maybe I just missed the room dealing with Guantanamo?

I have visited the DHHRM several times. I found the exhibits expansive and especially appreciated the expansion of the concept to include other genocides that occurred around the world. I am very disappointed that the people in charge have failed to even acknowledge the horrors occurring in Gaza and the West Bank. The International Court of Justice has found grounds to take the case of genocide against Israel for adjudication. In their preliminary report, based on evidence submitted to the courts, evidence of plausible genocide. Just today, the US has recognized Israel has committed crimes against humanity by sanctioning an IDF brigade based on the Leahy Act. I will not return or support the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum until they do what is morally right and consistent with the their purpose.

The Holocaust museum was awesome! Very informative. BUT, the rest of the museum exhibits, were not related to the Holocaust. One of them was the Human Rights wing of the exhibit called Beyond Tolerance Theater (shown in the pictures), which had some connotations of DEI ( Diversity Equity and Inclusion) propaganda in it, which was horrible. I hate this type of subliminal messaging from the Far Left Progressive Democrat propaganda machine. Shame on you (Human Rights Musuem) for your attempt to brainwash and indoctrinate this wicked D.E.I ideology to the citizens of Dallas. We didnt fall for it, so my wife and I ran out of it and left. I wish I could rate this highly since we were so excited to go. But it turned into one of the most underwhelming and disappointing museums I ve ever experienced. First off, the actual building is immaculate. It s spotless with large beautiful rooms and lobby area. Additionally, every staff member we encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful. The parking garage directly across the street is also extremely easy to navigate. But unfortunately, the museum s presentation is not good. It s easy to navigate and the actual panels of information/displays were all thought out perfectly. But this museum is 98% reading. From the very first room you walk into to the last room before you exit the main exhibit, is nothing but endless rows of reading material. Don t get me wrong, that s a necessary part of any museum. But after only a few rooms, we gave up and started to pace through. It would take someone 4 hours to read everything presented in this museum. And I want to be very clear, I m perfectly fine with having reading material in a museum and prefer it. But not when the entire trip through cost us close to $50 and I got nothing I couldn t have read online for free. The only difference is the reading is on a panel on the wall and I had to pay money for it. Even if I really wanted to love this trip, I absolutely didn t and left beyond disappointed.

Highly recommend visiting. Its in a great location. Take your time, there is a great deal to absorb and it is very emotional. The audio app takes a while to load on your phone, so do that early on. The app will basically explain or say the same things written in the displays. You do not need the app as there is no additional information. The galleries flow and transition smoothly from one topic to the other. One could easily spend 5 hours by including the movies in the theater rooms. We were pretty well saturated mentally and emotionally and could have benefitted by processing the information through the theater presentations. However we were out of time needing to catch our flight. Again, share this with your children. The price was reasonable, we paid $17 with the $2 discount for seniors or military

Just be ready to pay for the whole day and consider the extra $12 to be part of the entrance fee.

This was a spur of the moment event for me and my girlfriend, and we absolutely loved it. The way they had it laid out was easy to understand , it all made sense. I m going again.

I liked the museum. With that being said, I went to the Dallas Holocaust Museum before it moved to its new location and was disappointed that many of the artifacts that were at the old location are not at the new location. I understand and agree with having a human rights museum, but I feel that having the two separate, but close together, would give both the respect they deserve. I also think more groups should be included in the human rights section. The genocide section does not include the Native Americans. The human rights section does not include the Irish who were killed after coming to the USA during the potato famine, and the Japanese Americans and what they went through post WWII. So my thoughts about the new location is mixed.

Pushing political propaganda. A lot of the photos have zero relevance with the holocaust. This place is openly trying to indoctrinate the children that visit on field trips. Stay away from this place

This is a really good museum. Its a lot to take in, so you may need to visit it more than once. One of the cheaper parking garages in downtown just across the street. Heavily secured entrance to the museum (almost like going to the airport).

A beautiful museum. There is a parking garage specific to the museum across the street. Upon arrival you will go through a metal detector and have your bags screened. The main exhibit is on the third floor and takes 2-4 hours to experience. There are plenty of interactive stations and hands on material. Id highly recommend coming here whether youre passing through or local.

A look inside the evil of human beings, and the victims of this evil. Original photos, videos and audios that show the barbarism to which a leader of evil can lead. The massacre of innocent Jewish children and entire families at the hands of Nazis and countries we urge to support cruelty. Impacted by the victims narratives. It is worth going and knowing what a disturbed leader is capable of doing, if good people do not stop him in time.

The staff was very informative, I could picture every word as they described events during the Holocaust. I really liked that they had audio options for people whom spoke other languages, and couldnt read the displays. As someone with dyslexia this was very helpful! Parking was $4 per hour, you use an app to pay for the parking.

This weekend, my husband, our 4 kids, and I visited the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for Holocaust Remembrance Day. Initially, I was unsure about bringing our 10-year-old daughter after reading some reviews, fearing it might be too challenging for her. To my delight, she actively participated, leading the group, and engaging with questions. The museum itself offered a profound experience, featuring exhibits that vividly portrayed the historical events. From personal stories to artifacts, it painted a poignant picture of the Holocaust. Our 10-year-old, despite my initial concerns, found the museum both accessible and thought-provoking. The person leading part of the tour, whose name I unfortunately didnt catch, added a personal touch to our experience, making it truly special. The way she conveyed the stories and connected with the audience enhanced the educational value. Overall, the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum provided an enlightening and empowering journey through history. It is not only a must-visit for its educational importance but also for the personal growth and reflection it inspires. Im grateful we took our kids, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for families looking to instill empathy and understanding in their children. The museums call to action for humanity resonated deeply, making our visit both memorable and impactful.

I ve been to both the Washington DC museum and this one in Dallas. They are both so very good! In Dallas, the AI interviews with the survivors is so engaging & interactive! The docents were so knowledgeable and really cared. Don t wait - I will go back and could have spent twice as long,

This is a great museum but I was disappointed that it didnt include the killing of unborn babies in the genocide section. It does fit the definition of genocide as the intentional destruction of a people (babies, especially Black babies and babies with disabilities) in whole or in part. It also has all the hallmark factors that make genocide possible with dehumanizing language (refering to baby as a choice or a right), scapegoating (any reason is sufficient), government involvement, media support, use of technology to kill on an industrial scale, keeping the killing out of sight and punishment of dissent (being canceled or threat of). If the museum had included this genocide then I would have rated it 5 stars.

My wife and I have been to the old Museum and enjoyed. As a matter of fact, when bringing my mother to visit and showing her where we were and also visited Dachau found out from her that my uncle was a prisoner at Dachau ( he part of the French Resistance). We brought our Legacy Learning Pod here today, 19 Jan 2024, as a field trip. They really enjoyed it. Thank you.
