My first time at RJs on a Wednesday around 3 in the afternoon for happy hour and the one margarita I had was great. One was enough for me I m a light weight lol. I ordered a shrimp cocktail it was delicious it had lots of shrimp I had to take the rest home I will definitely be back. And shout out to my bartender/ server Esbeyda she was very nice and attentive and she loves music lol she was singing along to almost every song

I have to be objective, the food was good, I had a very good fruit drink, until it was ok but halfway through the drink I found a fly in the glass and in response they took it off my bill and not even a sorry; I only got a dont worry, well take it off your bill or well prepare something else for you, for me something like this is simply unacceptable.

My husband and I were in the area visiting downtown Dallas landmarks when we found the reviews for RJ s. I couldn t believe the high rating with the number of views it was staggering. So we decided to try this place. Chips and salsa, chicken enchiladas, and fish tacos were highly recommended options. We gave them all a chance. We really did like the chips and salsa which had a good kick. I am accustomed to getting complimentary chips and salsa, but the cost was minimal. My husband seemed to enjoy the chicken enchiladas and I very much liked the fish tacos. Our only dislike was the rice. It wasn t bad, it was just different tasted like it had cardamom mixed into it. Our waitress was very attentive and made certain that our salsa bowls stayed filled as well as our water glasses.

RJ Mexican: A Disappointing Experience Stop before you come! This place is a complete rip-off with fake reviews. Dont be fooled by the positive ratings. I arrived at RJ Mexican expecting a lively Mexican dining experience, but I was greeted with a dead atmosphere and no music whatsoever. It was a major disappointment, especially during happy hour. The first red flag was the $2.02 charge for chips and salsa, which is usually complimentary in Dallas. The menu boasted season chips and world famous salsa, but the chips were straight from a Tostitos bag and the salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. To make matters worse, the margaritas were a total letdown. They tasted more like those cheap frozen lime treats you find at the store. The menu claimed they were homemade with a sweet and sour flavor, but the neon color was a dead giveaway that this was a lie. The queso was another disaster. Priced at a hefty $12, it tasted worse than the nachos youd get at a ballpark. The texture was gritty and unpleasant. Its clear that the positive reviews for RJ Mexican are fake. No one would ever recommend this place based on the quality of the food and service. Be aware and avoid this establishment at all costs.

I had a fantastic time at this restaurant during my visit to Dallas. The drinks were absolutely amazing! Our table ordered a variety of dishes, including the cheese enchiladas with shrimp and crawfish, combo fajitas, and crawfish and shrimp over rice everything was simply delicious. The flavors were on point, and the portions were generous. The waitress was friendly, and the overall service was great. I visited RJ Mexican Cuisine based on the high ratings, but my experience was quite disappointing. The fajitas were among the worst Ive ever had the veggies were almost raw, and the steak and chicken lacked juiciness and flavor! The drink menu was limited, and the margarita didn t have a well-balanced taste. It was surprising to be charged for chips and salsa, which is very unusual for a Mexican restaurant!! Had dinner with 2 others. First thing is a charge for chips and salsa, not a good move imo when every other place I ve ever had Mexican food they are free. Salsa was good, chips certainly weren t anything special (Definitely not the world s best) No combination platters for standard items (Tacos, enchiladas). No chicken tacos. I had chicken enchiladas which were pretty good. My biggest gripe was the services. I haven t had service this poor in a decade. I eat out a lot for work a lot for context. Our server was treating us an inconvenience to her cell phone session. Multiple times we had to ask someone to find her to do things such as order drinks, order food, get the bill. I went to the front desk multiple times to try and get some things and the person there was busy with something on the computer but did get us some help. So we won t be back due to the service and the lack of options on the menu with mediocre food to top it off. So much potential but not going to draw a crowd in its current state.

I had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! Sherry, our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. I ordered the chicken tacos, and they were absolutely delicious perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. This was my time coming to this restaurant with my friend we came for mid day lunch! When walking in it was a nice space very clean and all the staff was nice. My server was Juan he was able to make me a passion fruit Mojito which was amazingggggggggg! We only had nachos but they were enough to share between two ppl and we got full! This restaurant is a fantastic spot for lunch, whether youre dining solo or with a couple of coworkers. Their staff is incredibly polite and the food is impeccable, especially their pasta. I know it might sound odd to suggest ordering pasta at a Mexican restaurant, but trust me - its the best item on their menu. The pasta is creamy, flavorful, and has just the right amount of kick to it. I cant emphasize how good this dish is. Dont just take my word for it - go try it for yourself.

I came here thinking it was a no brainer considering it had 4.8 with 10k+ reviews. Food is sub-par; service is okay; atmosphere is okay; drinks were good. Go to On The Border instead--you will be content, or literally any other Mexican restaurant. Cant prove it but looks as if the reviews are bought.

A delightful Tex-Mex spot in the historic district! This was absolutely delicious! I got the cheese, enchiladas, and the guacamole appetizer and they were both fantastic! The service was great as well. Prompt, friendly, and he was very attentive! If for whatever reason you re not in the mood for Tex-Mex, they also have some seafood options that looked excellent! I ll need to come back and try those the next time I m in town!

I truly don t know how they got the reviews they have. The food is not great and neither are the drinks. We had combo fajitas, margaritas, guac, salsa, and queso and it was truly just a mid level Mexican dinners. The chicken in the fajita combo was a weird texture and it was dry. The dips were not good. The drinks say they come from a house made mix doubt. It really wasn t terrible, but certainly unremarkable. I am just submitting this review to balance what looks like fake reviews here. I have had much cheaper Tex Mex that was a lot better.
