Visited Mayas Modern Mediterranean on a Monday around lunchtime. The outside is well branded and the locale has outdoor seating. Upon entering we had a bit of confusion of whether we wait to be seated and order at the table or go to a counter to order. The reason for some of the confusion is that the lighting is not that great and the order counter is at the very back of the restaurant. Once we figured it out, the service people were very helpful and friendly. We order bowls with turmeric rice, chicken and harissa ranch sauce. Also ordered hummus and pitas. The hummus and pitas were delivered first and were DELIGHTFUL - the pitas were warm and hummus tasty. The bowls came next and were tasty as well. Food was very good but lighting and atmosphere were detractors.

Came to Maya s on a whim. It is now my go-to restaurant! Everything is fresh and delicious. Their air-fryer options help me avoid the oils that are usually ubiquitous to restaurant food. I can also easily avoid gluten as well as hit protein targets. I love the flavors. Everything tastes thoughtfully made. Service is good and pleasant. Sometimes the inside of the restaurant is a little warm, climate-wise, but that doesn t bother us much. I feel very comfortable bringing my 3 year old son here to dine. All around wonderful restaurant and so glad to have this gem in the neighborhood.

Mayas is a great, family owned chain, with amazing food. It s a no frills kinda place with food that is quality, tasty, and true to its roots. It s refreshing to have this kind of healthy, independent, and culturally diverse establishment in East Dallas! We come here at least once a month!

Tried this place when it first opened and never went back and I live right next to it. Saw good reviews so tried to give it another shot. Food is still lousy. I just dont get all of the positive reviews. I did not rank service or atmosphere because I just picked it up, but it was hot in there (granted its 100 outside). Would not have been pleasant to dine in on a hot day.

I ve been coming to Casa Linda for a long time and I ve never been here!! I guess this was one corner I never hit. I found them through Happy Cow looking for vegan options which are few and far between in this town. The menu is easy to manipulate and I highly recommend getting the bowl with a mix. They ll let you mix two veggies and add a protein. Spinach and quinoa together was a great combo. The falafels are delicious and healthy (air fried), the hummus is creamy and wonderful. The free water was also delicious (cucumber enhanced). The only tiny tiny negative is there is quite an echo in the place so if loud noises are difficult for you, perhaps go during a quiet time or during school hours because kids can really light up the place with their excitement. This is my new fav Mediterranean place. Vegetarian options: Falafel, roasted cauliflower, tahini sauce, vegetable choices for bowls, hummus, pita bread. These items are also Vegan.

Salmon is cooked in an air fryer so it was pretty dry and flavorless. Not really what I expected from a Mediterranean restaurant but if you re not going for the authenticity or flavor and just want a falafel fix with a coffee shop type vibe then it works. Pros: the service is great

Came here a month ago, and I was so excited to try the food. However, my enthusiasm swiftly waned upon tasting the dishes. The hummus failed to impress, receiving a meager 2 out of 10, while the falafel fell short, earning a dismal 1 out of 10. Additionally, the pita bread left much to be desired, as it was unfortunately stale.

Being that I am a Michigan Native middle eastern cuisine specifically Lebanese is very familiar to my palate. The staff are very nice and welcoming. I loved the ambiance of the resturant. There are large windows which allow alot of natural light to enter. The foods plating was just as picture perfect. The foods flavor however was different from what I am familiar with as it pertains to mediterranean cuisine. I ordered a falafel pita and the spices seemed to be lacking it could have used a bit more cumin and coriander it also was very mushy as though it was undercooked. According to the menu they air fry as opposed to actually frying the falafel which leaves it a bit mushy and not as crisp as the traditional cooking method of oil. They also layer a medley of red and orange bell peppers onto the pita which give it a very odd flavor. It wasnt bad just not what Im used to. I took my mom who ordered the salad which was very attractive but also not what we are used to eating being that the ingredients included eggs and dried cranberries. Overall its a spin and twist to traditional Mediterranean food. It wasnt bad but it wasnt good either.

We love the kabobs, the salmon plate, the falafels and hummus. And, the harissa chicken soup is one of the best soups in town!!! We usually order doordash, but sometimes pickup on the way home. And, weve eaten there as a family many times, for both lunch and dinner. Love the casual, clean atmosphere. Order at the counter. Our only concern is we are not a fan of ordering at the counter because if you are not familiar with Mediterranean dishes or sauces, you feel rushed and is confusing. I think they should have pictures of their menu choices with a description. Same thing with the sauces and which dishes are best with them. Having to just randomly pick a flavor can be disappointing, as was our experience.

I tried a salad topped with salmon and both their hummus and baba ganoush. The salad was great but the lettuce definitely needed to be dried off more before packaging it. Had it with the tzatziki dressing and it was pretty good but needed a little more zing so I squeezed some fresh lemon juice on it at home. The baba ganoush was the star of the show and had a great smokey, garlickly flavour. All ingredients were fresh and of good quality. Service was a little disorganized after the original girl who took my order left the counter and I was left waiting for my food then sent out without half my order which luckily I noticed before I left. Ordered the same thing the following week but with the harissa dressing which was amazing.

Great place - however, they will definitely charge for everything extra. I frequently dine in/deliver from this establishment and yesterday my buddy and I ordered the humus with pita as an appetizer while dining inside. The humus is a large portion that comes with only 4 pieces of pita bread. After we both finished the four pieces, there was quite a lot of hummus leftover and we didnt want it to go to waste. We asked for extra bread, and the server agreed then walked into the kitchen only to return saying that would be an extra charge. The humus went to waste. Most places include extra bread with the cost of the meal/appetizer.

Decent Mediterranean food. The lemon sauce is a highlight. I want to rate this restaurant more highly, but most of the offerings are pretty bland. The Israeli salad, with diced tomatoes and cucumbers, should be better. It needs lemon juice, sumac, salt, feta, real olives, parsley... Something to make it taste like more than the pain veggies. The falafel is the only thing that is outright bad. Theyre made in an air fryer apparently, and theyre incredibly dry and flavorless. The meat offerings are pretty decent overall, though. The other issue was the many dirty, but empty, tables. It just didnt feel clean.

However, I wouldnt call the Hummus the best in Dallas - I have had better. Since the falafel was air baked, it lacked the crunch that you would see in a traditional deep fried falafel. That being said, if you want to avoid the deep frying, this place is a good option. They have a very nutrition dense menu. Their portion size was also decent.

Been wanting to try this place and decided one day to go. The Kafta kabob plate was a hit. Kafta was super tender and flavorful. Also ordered the tumeric rice and brussel slaw. The brussel slaw was interesting. Would definitely come back for this plate combo.

This is a counter service restaurant with table delivery. The food was amazing. Servings were generous. The seating was plentiful and tables were clean. There are vegan and vegetarian options. The menu is confusing and a little intimidating. I was glad I had looked at the online version before arriving. You pick from a bowl, salad or pita, then add a base, protein, topping, sauce and side. The drink options are limited. They sell cann/bottle drinks or they have tea and lemonade available. The hummus is award winning. It is the smoothest consistency. The babaganoush is wonderful, but heavy on garlic. I loved it. They are both offered with hummus or carrots. We also ordered a pita and a bowl. We had much leftover. Vegetarian options: They have falafel available for your protein and multiple dairy free sauces. The menu is labeled well for dietary concerns. Dietary restrictions: They offer gf, v, and df labels on the menu for informed dining.

Mayas is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas! The food is so flavorful and delicious. My top two favorite dishes are the salmon and lentil soup. The hummus and falafel are also amazing. You cant go wrong here. My daughter loves the air baked chicken strips (schnitzel). Fresh, yummy, quality food.

Mayas offers a simple menu of fresh well seasoned Mediterranean grub. I made my first trip into this establishment this weekend, after years of threatening to give it a try, and let me say, I m glad I did. I opted for the plate, adorned with succulent char grilled chicken kabobs with a hint of honey, a side of hummus and pita, a cup of fiery harrisa chicken soup with chunks of tender chicken swimming throughout, also as a side I relished in the cool Israeli salad, simple, fresh, yet seeming to need a lift, and so I drizzled it with a bit of the honey soy dip that came with the chicken. Splendid! I returned today for dinner, give Mayas a try, you will love it.

I ordered a plate portion to go, no hummus and the extra sauce I paid for was not inside, severely disappointed. The portions were very small as well. Waste of money. Instead of offering a future discount, the owner offers a snarky remark. Save your time and go elsewhere. Update: The owner really likes to go off on 1 star reviews LOL. Owner seems like he or she looks down on others that don t agree with him or her. Awful customer service is a guaranteed way to go out of business.

EAT HERE!!! Honestly the best mediterranean food Ive ever had. The beef kabob melted in my mouth. The roasted cauliflower was truly roasted and seasoned to perfection. The air fried falafel is not only healthier than tradtionally fried falafal, but it was exquisite, exactly how I likemy falafel. The hummus was excellent, as was the brussels slaw. I will most likely fly back to Dallas just to eat here again. 10/5 stars.

I was disappointed because I had hoped that my second time there would be better than the first. The service was less than mediocre the food was warm to cold. The best thing on my plate was the chicken. The drink station is poorly lacking, in selection. The atmosphere was just not what you would be expecting in a Mediterranean restaurant. The sign on the front said best Hummus in Dallas. Not sure who the judge of that was because it was the most plain hummus I ve ever had and the portion size was poorly measured. I didn t even have enough to finish my chicken with. Probably won t be going back to this place, sorry.

This is definitely not authentic Mediterranean! The tzatziki sauce was over drowned with dill, the hummus was flavorless and the pita was super chewy tough. I had the Harissa soup and the chicken in it was so dry among the pieces of chicken being so big. It tasted more like a tortilla soup. Very disappointed.

This food tasted nasty, chicken is dry and nothing was seasoned. What is modern Mediterranean what the hell is chocolate hummus? This is just gentrified, watered down arab food made by people who are not from the culture. If you want something good, dallas has some great authentic options - save yourself the trip. [update] Not the owners attacking me and calling me an A-hole for calling out their blatant cultural appropriation. Rude owners with no culinary skills.

I really love all the healthy options. The Israeli salad is a great mix of lots of fresh veggies. The turmeric caramelized onion rice is yummy. I like how the falafel is baked but I think it could use more spice and flavor. I feel like everything could use a bit more salt and acid. That being said, the variety of sauces are great for adding flavor. I was a little disappointed with the baba ganoush bc it said it was for garlic lovers and I didnt taste any garlic. I did really enjoy the charred smoky flavor though. I had high hopes for the salmon but it was way over cooked. I was able to make a pita sandwich with it that was good bc I added the Israeli salad and some sauces. The zhoug is delicious. Ill definitely be back to try more.
