I made a reservation a week in advance for a celebratory lunch with friends, and unfortunately, the seating arrangement left us disappointed. I arrived early, but despite that, the host seated us at a table directly in front of the bathroom, even though there were other available tables that would have been more suitable. I didn t appreciate that the host didn t ask if we preferred indoor or patio seating. What made it more frustrating was that a similar 4-seater table, just like ours, had only 3 people seated, which made me feel as though we werent treated equally. I chose not to make an issue of it at the time, as we were celebrating a friend s promotion, but it left a sour note on an otherwise special occasion. If I hadn t made a reservation, I would have understood, but given the circumstances, it seemed like the seating could have been handled better. It was disappointing to feel like we were given the least favorable option

One of the best places for a leisurely lunch in Dallas. Take a walk up the Katy Trail and reward yourself with a meal at this fine bistro. I have spent a lot of time in Paris, and there is nothing faux about this place. It really has a French feel, simple French dishes, and a nice wine list to boot.

Love this place. Food was good. Ambiance and music are nice. Onion soup needed more Gruyère and kiche could be better but overall everything was tasty. Our sever left without notice to his colleagues so this was a bit odd but we really enjoyed our lunch. Everyone was kind and it was a beautiful sunny day. Would be back again.

This place looked cute and I went because one of my friends saw amazing photos and a video online, but the food didnt taste like anything at all. No seasonings and the salt didnt help make the flavor any better. If youre used to tasteful and flavorful food, dont expect anything like that here. Our server also helped tables that sat after we did even though we were ready to order and didnt seem to care about our experience at all. Very disappointing and high priced.

I ve been here twice and the food is subpar. Both times I ve ordered a steak. The first time the steak frites and the second time was the filet. I asked for my steak medium rare and both times the steak was literally still mooing!!! For an almost $40 meal, I d expect it to be cooked right. I sent it back the first time and the second time I ended up just taking it to go and finishing it at home myself. Honestly, I will not be returning here. Additionally, the AC never seems to be working. It s so hot inside. We aren t actually in France. We are in Texas, please turn the AC on in the summer or close the enclosed patio off to the inside. It doesn t really do much for the inside to have an enclosed patio. My boyfriend and I are also feeling very ill after this entire experience so not sure if it s from eating a little bit of our very undercooked steak or the mussels we ordered but we are DONE. We can spend our money at other restaurants with better, more consistent food for what you have to spend here.

Huge disappointment!!!! We have been customers of this establishment for years and we saw yesterday night the worst. We ordered steak tartare the presentation was just So bad! The French fries were certainly the worst we ever had and caused for both of us a very bad indigestion. We had next to us a table of drunk women celebrating a Birthday and hoping to get a good tip one of the waiter was basically screaming to the point I couldn t hear my wife talking! For a restaurant defined as a high standard place we could have had better food in a fast food place at least for the French fries. In our personal opinion that experience reflects the fall of this beautiful country, we are taking water from every aspect and the sinking is there. I will finish by saying to my fellow Americans don t judge French gastronomy by going to Toulouse but visit the beautiful city of Toulouse and have a real diner there

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we had a great time. We have passed by on the Katy trail so many times and have been wanting to go. The salmon was the best I have had in a while at a restaurant. My husband enjoyed the steak frites but said it could have been better. The zucchini chips were amazing and came with a really great aioli. The service was fantastic and we were celebrated by the staff and checked on just the right amount. The reason to come here is the ambiance more than anything. We were on the shaded outdoor patio under the trees and had such a great experience. Would recommend!

So disappointed with this restaurant! Overall, food was not good, expensive for the quality you get and service wasn t even good. Nobody came once during our dinner to ask us if everything was going ok. My husband and I left really disappointed and not satisfied. I really don t understand the hype about this place, we will not go back. I got the warm Brie (after recommandations from the waiter) and it was really not good. Nothing was like it s supposed to be, just looked like they threw a bunch of ingredients on the plate. I then got the Steak and fries and was really disappointed again. The steak was so tough and chewy and the Béarnaise sauce was broken and separated. My husband also didn t like his mussels, the sauce was way too liquid. For dessert we got the warm apple tart that was just ok. The best part of the meal was probably just the complementary bread and butter.

UPDATE: Returned to have dinner here. It s quite a change from my last review. It s not because of the food because the petite filet and brussel sprouts were very good, the mashed potatoes could be creamier, and for some reason, the food does not come out hot , it s rather lukewarm. My issue is more about the service and atmosphere. I make reservations but they keep putting us in the tables against the walls by the kitchen. Then we have to see the rude men coming in and out from the kitchen. I know they re busy and don t have to speak but at least take the scowls off of your faces. There was some type of bug flying around in our area that we had to keep dodging. And we had the worst server, she was NOOOO Lisa. You can see my raving review about Lisa in my first post below. I m not sure if this server was new but she seemed extremely nervous. She didn t move and communicate with grace. It made our night unpleasant. We had to ask for bread and straws for our drinks. The highlight of our night was seeing Lisa and she remembered us and came over. She was working another area and walked us to the door when we left. I m not sure if we ll return. The overall atmosphere is questionable at this point. We dined here last night and really enjoyed our meals. The lobster bisque was smooth and full of flavor. The petite filet and sides were delicious. The brussell sprouts w/chunks of bacon had a little sweet taste and I liked it. The Chanel 6 cocktail was great as well. We enjoyed our server Lisa. She was so attentive and assisted us every step of the way. I would have given 5 stars if the food would have been served a little warmer.

After reading some of the reviews, I expected this place to be spectacular, but I found it to be mediocre at best. To start with, we had the warm brie and french onion soup for appetizers. The brie was just ok, but the soup was actually pretty good. For the main course, I had the bouillabaisse, which was subpar at best. I found it to be lacking in flavor for the most part, and the portion size left much to be desired. My wife had the salmon, which we both found to be quite bland. The best part of the dish were the brussel sprouts that it was served with. To top it off, I got physically sick during the night suffering from digestive challenges, to put it mildly, so the entire experience was horrible. I would not go back to this restaurant under any circumstance.

I enjoyed visiting Toulouse Cafe and Bar on Knox Street today for a delightful lunch with my friend, Deane, and our four-legged companion, Shadow. When we stepped in, it was clear that this establishment was special, and our experience exceeded our expectations. One of the standout features of Toulouse Cafe and Bar is its super dog-friendly policy, which Shadow absolutely adored. It was nice that they had a welcoming atmosphere for our furry friends, instantly setting the tone for a fantastic lunch. Deane, who had just finished a workout at the nearby gym, met us there, and we used the valet parking service. It was convenient and efficient, allowing us to get inside and enjoy our meal promptly. Shadow eagerly waited for A french fry here, some whipped cream there - his tail wagging away. The menu had a variety of options; I love that they turned the burger into a tasty chicken sandwich. What truly stood out was the friendly atmosphere, and the manager even went the extra mile by calling the valets ahead of time, ensuring that our car was ready when we were. These small touches make a big difference in the overall dining experience. Whether youre a dog lover or just looking for a great place to dine with friends, Toulouse Cafe and Bar should be at the top of your list. Well definitely be returning soon for more memorable moments with Shadow and delicious food. Parking: Valet parking is around the corner, make sure to give the ticket to the manager for faster service.

Eggs benedict: Just barely okay. Yolks were totally runny, pure liquid, though I asked for medium well. Muffins tasted like they came from Krogers donut section, though I do like Kroger. Sauce was better than average, I admit, and the meat was lean and thinly sliced, though youd expect a dash of paprika or something to make it more visually appealing at these prices. The roast potatoes were completely dried out --- surely they werent made from last nights leftover baked potatoes(?), plus they were mostly BURNT. Inedible! Zero on that. The waitress was very nice. The iced tea and ketchup were good.

If you re a seafood lover like me, I d recommend you try their Bouillabaisse. The broth was rich and hearty, and its flavor permeated into the array of seafood and vegetables very well. Desserts were also very good. The chocolate soufflé was light, airy, and practically melted in my mouth. All in all, our visit to Toulouse was beyond satisfactory. For what you get, the prices aren t too constraining relative to other restaurants in the area, the service is fast and friendly, food is great, and the general vibe of the place is welcoming and sleek. Certainly! Heres a condensed version of your review: This place is a delightful blend of romance and coziness. The food is simply divine. I can confidently say that the lobster risotto I had was the best Ive ever tasted, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his salmon dish as well. The seating arrangements were perfect, creating an intimate atmosphere. The pricing is fair for the exceptional quality offered. The service was top-notch! (Ezequiel) was our waiter. Well definitely be returning to this super cute place for more memorable dining experiences. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was ok but they kind of packed us in so close to eachother that waiters were constantly walking by and almost knocking over our wine glasses. The food was absolutely NOT worth the amount of money they charge. We ordered the warm Brie appetizer and all of the bread was served burnt to the point of being inedible. Both our entrees came out within 15min of ordering and were absolutely tasteless. The saving grace was the espresso martini and the chocolate mousse. Both very good! So I d you re going to come here at all only come for drinks and dessert. 3 out of 10 especially for the amount of money we spent.

Visited for lunch on a weekday. Host was exceptional greeting me enthusiastically and seating me on the enclosed patio which was covered as it was a windy day. I saw they had Rose bubbles by the glass that was appreciated and enjoyed. I then started with the Lobster bisque. It was especially good with the crispy baguette and butter they served. My Salad Nicoise I have to say was average and I was disappointed that it was served with a lone white anchovy. The menu states anchovies in the description so I asked for some extra for my salad. They ended up charging me for the extra anchovies on an already $24 salad. The caperberries were amazing as was the perfectly cooked egg. Would I return ? Most definitely yes, but not for this salad. Service was attentive and friendly. Parking: Valet parking for $5.

The food and cocktails were delicious (although the kale salad is gigantic, I would have split it with my friend and ordered an extra app if I was re-doing the experience). They even brought me a celebratory dessert that had the most intense sparkler Ive ever seen on top!

Not real sure what happened. I have always heard good things about this place, but our experience was not pleasant. We had a reservation at 7. The server seemed like he was in a big rush to get us out the door. We were out by 7:45. Thats after two appetizers and an entree. The tartar was pretty bland. It needs a lot of salt, some kind of acid, and the onions need to be chopped smaller so you can integrate them into the bite. Also, the menu says it comes with baguette, but the bread it came with tasted like grocery store white bread that had been toasted. The petite gougeres were lovely. Warm, buttery, truffley, and lighter than air. Thats where the second star comes from. I had the lobster risotto and my husband had the special salad of the night. My risotto was a mess. The rice was very under cooked. Risotto should be al dente, and the grains should be firm, but they shouldnt be gritty and raw in the middle. The lobster was, conversely, over cooked. It was tough and grainy. I ate the lobster because I needed some solid protein, as we were going drinking afterwards, but I left the rice alone. They did take it off the bill after seeing that I didnt eat it, and I appreciate that. My husbands salad was okay. He said the blackened salmon was a dry, and the cooked Brussels sprouts were chilled, which he said wasnt very nice. The cheese balls rolled in nuts were... interesting... All in all, for $130, and for our anniversary, we were expecting to sit there for a while and enjoy ourselves. But I guess they needed the table. Our original thought was to go to Taverna, the Italian place next door, because its always amazing. I think we will do that next time.

We have been going to Toulouse for several years and service and food has never been so bad. The portions are getting smaller and smaller and quality getting downhill. We went there right at 9A and we were the first guests to be able to choose a table on patio. According to the restaurant manager the table we have been sitting all the time was not available because another client s dog preferred that table and they might come later. It is astonishing that a dog s preference is above a paying customer for years. My wife ordered the avocado toast and their country bread is now white toast. Not willing to pay $18 for avocado on white toast. Manager and kitchen need some improvements. After 7 years of being a loyal customer we won t return

Pretty darn good, definitely a 5 star restaurant. Celebrated my husbands birthday with family for dinner. The ambience is very, very nice and the service was top notch. We all got appetizers, soup, salads and full entrees. Onion soup was delicious as it should be in a French restaurant. My husband loved his escargot as well as the dover sole that was prepared table side. The four of us literally got so many dishes!! I got beef burgonion, rich and just melted in my mouth. My son got a steak, sad very good and his girlfriend got a pasta dish with chicken and she loved it. And of course we all had desserts! The best one overall was a grand marnier soufflé with creme anglaise was a killer!! Definitely a special occasion place, not cheap, spent 500 with drinks and tip.

We had a great experience at Toulouse last night for a birthday date night with the wife. We had a great waiter, Eduardo, who was enjoyable to talk to and attentive. The atmosphere was great and the food was very good. A few things stuck out which were really impressive. The other servers who filled water and bread were kind and not afraid to ask if we needed anything. Secondly, as the evening drew on and the lights dimmed, they would bring out these small lights that perfectly illuminated the table and menu without disrupting the atmosphere. Perhaps these have been in place for a while, but it was first for me. This little extra, says a world about how they view their customers. My wife ordered the sea bass special, which was wonderfully cooked. I ordered the steak tartare which was equally delicious. I was a little disappointed with the texture of the steak, as jt was sent through a grinder rather than shaved/chipped, but that s personal preference. The flavor was still great. We both ordered cocktails and a had a cheese board for an appetizer. Dessert was a raspberry soufflé. The soufflé was a tad underdone (maybe) but tasted great. Despite a few things with the food, this place earned a five-star review based on the overall experience. This is a definitely a place to check out and we will be back.

I had the lobster risotto, which was a bit undercooked. He had beef bourguignon, which was ok. We had petit gougeres to start, which was light and flavorful. We had grand marnier souffle and an apple tart for dessert and it was delicious. The French press coffee was also a nice bonus. It was crowded in there and dimly lit. Cute candle at the table. Small table and it is rather hard to have conversations there due to the noise level. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice date spot overall.

My wife and I were excited about wrapping up our busy Friday, the last errand of which brought us near Toulouse at the relatively early hour of 6:30pm on a cold winter Friday evening. This was going to be our third of hopefully many more visits since the prior two had been wonderful experiences. Since it was a spur of the moment decision to eat there, we hadn t considered making a reservation. But it didn t seem like a difficult problem since when we arrived there were at least 1/2 a dozen open tables. We were offered a table for two outside on the patio, and while it was covered and had space-heaters, it was still cold and all the customers sitting in this area were still wearing their winter jackets at their tables. Knowing my wife, and how cold she would be if we sat outside I politely declined. This seemed to be causing the hostess some trouble since she apparently had strict instructions not to sit two people at any tables for four. She brought the manager in on this weighty decision about what-to-do and his conclusion was to ask us to wait 1/2 an hour for a table for two to free up. Where he expected us to wait, I have no idea. Back outside in the cold? There was no room at the bar. So where? Anyway, I could see more than 1/2 dozen open tables for four. And seeing that we didn t rate the consideration to seat us at an open table - I declined and we left. I want Toulouse to know this, while they may have kept two seats freed up for any parties of four who might have wandered in to fill it, instead they have lost two customers for life as we will never go back.
