Stomping Grounds is an incredible, safe space to learn improv, build self-confidence, and meet your new best friends. For most of my life I have been in search for a community, but wasn t sure where to find a secular one. When I started taking improv classes at Stomping Grounds, I thought it would just be a fun way to get back into performing. I never expected that the people in my classes would become the community I had been searching for all this time. I really appreciate how Level 1 focuses on building trust and encouraging everyone to be each other s biggest supporters. This made performing feel easier and a lot more fun. Knowing that no one is judging you and that everyone is rooting for your success creates such a positive environment. Even with my theatre experience, I found Level 1 incredibly helpful because I had never learned acting/improv in such a supportive space before. A special thanks to my Level 1 instructor, Whitney, who encouraged us to connect outside of class. Because of that, I ve made lifelong friends. I m now in Level 3, and I show up early every week because I m just as excited to chat with my classmates before class as I am to learn. I d also like to give a shoutout to my Level 2 instructor, Kimber, and my Level 3 instructors, Shenelle and Milo you all rock! If you re looking for a place to grow and connect, I can t recommend Stomping Grounds enough. It s more than just improv it s a community.

Nobody picks up the phone. I might have called like 10 times. NO ANSWERING, NO RETURN CALLS. Nothing. How can you expect to have people joining if they cant interrogate relating to your classes and have a discussion with a person in phone? The classes I wanted were soon to start but nobody ever answers.

Stomping Ground is such a welcoming and creative community for anyone interested in comedy. There s a great lineup of shows (improv, musical improv, standup, variety shows) with a cool theatre space, and they re BYOB. They do a lot in the community (like improv for anxiety and improv for caregivers of people with Alzheimer s or dementia) and host community events like improv jams and drop-in classes. Highly recommend!

I only planned on taking level 1 to prove to myself that I could do it, but I had such an amazing experience with Stomping Ground that I ended up completing all five levels plus some musical improv, some stand up comedy, and I m currently enrolled in and signed up for additional advanced improv classes. This is an incredible community to be a part of!

I went to Improv for Anxiety years ago & it was a really fun, positive experience. I live several hours away, so I ve been unable to return. But I think of it often & would love to bring my daughter someday. You can tell there s so much love & passion put into the work by their leadership.

Can t get enough of this gem. The actors are excellent and keep everyone laughing, always impressive with their improv talent and various skills. The improv for kids night at least once a month is perfect. The rest of the time, it s a great date night, meet up & hang with friends, always a great time, every single time. You ll love it here

Its been awhile since Ive been a regular here but I LOVE their showcase nights. Its fun to watch a class really get to vibe together and show off what theyve learned on stage. Also highly recommend any of their Holiday shows or anything Greg Mahlik is doing. The venue is BYOB but they also offer plenty of white claw/wine/beers for a small donation. LGBTQIA friendly with private bathrooms as well. Theres a great local brewery nearby (Peticolas) that you can grab a drink from before heading over. Parking can be tough so leave a few minutes early to grab a great spot.

Stomping Ground Comedy Theater is an opportunity for people to learn, perform, and watch improv. I came to support a friend who just started 8 weeks ago, but there are multiple levels of experience for different shows. I enjoyed the show I saw and laughed a lot. And its BYOB, which is nice too, but they also sell snacks and drinks like water too.

I understand that budget for seating is probably not a priority but hopefully they can upgrade sometime soon. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and will go back for more shows.

This is a beautiful facility with a wide range of programming in a very unlikely place. you owe it to yourself to take a trip just passed the design district to check out this remarkable theater.when you do go, be sure to tell the parking attendants that you are attending the theater and they will send you right to the lot. I went to see Magic Mike in his family performance scheduled the first Saturday of every month. The show was entertaining, lively, and engaging for everybody in the audience no matter what the age. Being there let me see all the other remarkable improvisational comedy performances, classes, and other events that Stomping Ground has to offer. They also offer classes and events tailored for the neurodiverse. Its pretty cool. Check them out.

Small and intimate, byob comedy features some troupe(s) for an easygoing night out. Many of the comics are young, new, and still developing their craft, and it can be a fun way to experience new talent. Just think, maybe one of these comics could be the star you can say you them back when.

Had such a great time at the opening show for Stomping Ground! My cheeks hurt at the end of the night because I had such a smile on my face. Because it was such a fun night, I signed up for one of the Improv for Life classes. My mom and I were looking for ways to deal, or maybe a better choice of words is communicate, with my grandmother. So the caretakers for dementia patients class was perfect. I learned some skills that taught me that she needs to still feel validated. And new skills to help me NOT go insane when shes in repeat mode. I love that Stomping Ground is not just a comedy group, but a group that is doing good for the community!
