Enjoyed the show but beware.. the morning after the show, we were notified of charges on our card that were beginning to total over $1400. Thankfully our bank cancelled and blocked our account after the last transaction of $900. I strongly believe the card scanner that the bartender allowed us to use to purchase our drinks copied/saved our card information.

I d give it a negative if I could!! Your staff are the most horrible people I ve ever dealt with! My friend who just lost her ex due to suicide went out to take a break cause some of the jokes were getting to her bad. She was just coming out to release some of the built up anxiety she has had in the past couple of days and the manager kicked her out without even listening or trying to reason with her. Yall are awful and need to be trained better. I hope that you never are a victim to any of the treatments that you dish out.

EDIT: Two stars off my original review because they seem to have taken me off their email list, likely because of this review. Pretty good comedy place. I just moved here to Dallas in July 2023 and have been here three times already. But BUYER BEWARE. It is written on the front of the menu that they will add a 15% tip to your receipt when you eat at a comedy show. Fair enough. But then when they bring you the receipt at the end of the show, the receipt doesnt show an itemized list of what you ordered plus the tip they added -- it just shows a total with a + Tip _____ prompt. This has the sole purpose of fooling the customer into tipping twice. Its low-brow and borderline unethical, but they make up for it by giving you free passes if you get on their email list. Im deducting one star.

An absolute JOKE of a venue and management. Entry/ doorman/nticket check is the least efficient process Ive seen in a long time. We arrived 1 hour before the show started and waited outside in line for 40 minutes with the bums that didnt buy tickets yet. What a joke.

Went here for an adult-only magic/comedy show. The show itself was great! Eric Eaton. The venue was super cramped. The seating arrangement was terrible. 4 people to a tiny table and each couple had to sit behind one another. The service was okay but DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE. Its a complete waste of money. Inedible. The DRINKS WERE HOT so not sure how youre going to meet the REQUIRED 2 ITEMS MINIMUM WITHOUT THROWING MONEY AWAY...and make sure you use the restroom before sitting down bc youll be stuck in your seat the entire show...unless you wanna step all over everyone. Dont recommend.

We came here for date night and had a blast! The service was amazing. Drinks were flowing and the manager Travis was so kind! It s hard for us to manage a night out very often and we re glad we decided to spend it here. We had a great time!

I recently visited and had an absolute blast! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the lineup of comedians had me laughing non-stop. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everyone had a great time. The drinks were reasonably priced and the overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend checking out Hyenas for a night of fun and laughter. Definitely a 5-star experience!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Bought priority seating, ended up sitting in the back because they didn t have any room in priority seating. I asked what we should do because we payed for priority seating, they said they could do nothing, we showed up too late. We showed up 15 minutes before the show (wanted to get there earlier but the Uber took the wrong way.) The manager on duty was less than polite. So we sit in the back, have a two drink minimum, have a manager with a really rude attitude and have to pay the priority seating price. I will not be returning and I would walk out if i could based on the customer service provided by the manager.

The show was fantastic but the venue was disappointing. The seating situation was very odd. They sat me and my husband one in front of the other. The girls that came in after us were able to sit side by side. So I guess if you re lucky, you ll get to enjoy the show beside your partner. The drinks were so bad. One of the worst I ve ever had actually. My drink was 90% cheap mixer and 10% alcohol. Not worth the $12. The group behind us would not shut up during the entire show. Staff was around and they were quick to come up to the group to tell them they need to put their phones away, but they somehow didn t notice they were talking loudly all night.

hyenas was awesome! the line was long when we arrived, and the venue was entirely full! my friend and I had such a wonderful evening. the comics were hilarious, especially Duncan Trussell(!!!!!), and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. there is a 2 item minimum per person, which I was unaware of before walking in, so it was about $50 on top of the ticket price, so you might want to know that. our view was slightly obstructed, but we were some of the last people in line (and we got there about 20 minutes before showtime)

First of all they cram everyone in this tiny room. That sat us all the way in the back because there were only 3 of us. Then we watched as time after time they sat other guests with 3 or less at the tables we requested. The menu is weak and they say it is a two item minimum but they dont check like they make you think they are when they say make sure you have your receipt. We again noticed several people had not purchased anything. I would not have purchased the watered down drinks either had I known. Check your receipt. They also force you to pay a 15% tip. They were half way through the headliner before we were even asked what we wanted and it was almost over when we got our drinks. Not only that the comedians were not funny. The manager there is rude and racist. And just now reading the responses from the owner, unbelievable. It is evident the owner sets the tone for such deplorable behavior from the staff. I definitely wont be returning.

The venue has great decor. The staff are nice. The comedy show was funny. You can order 2 drinks maximum in the show room. But if you order in the bar, those drinks don t count toward your limit. The sitting is 4 per table we had 4 in our party so we didn t have to share our table. The table is small lol for some reason all the comedy shows I ve been to have small tables. The drinks were alright, I didn t taste much alcohol in mine, but I m not a big drinker so I didn t mind. They also serve food but we didn t try it.

The headliner was good. The service is good and it s a good thing too cause there was no way I was going to be able to make it to the bar with how many people they pack in there. The seats are pretty uncomfortable and tables tiny and there s 4 to a table . And you have to show up an hour early to get a decent seat if you have to pee during the show it could be a challenge.

Saw Harland Williams. Was a non stop laugh fest. Its a little chaotic with the line and the bar area. If you get preferred tickets make sure you find the line on the left when you approach the front door. The right line is for standby and regular tickets. The bar area will be jammed packed. But overall the wait staff were amazing, bathrooms were clean, drinks were great. Only complaints would be to have more employees directing customers where to go and stand in line. Well be back very soon!!

They get good comics for the most part and every seat has a good view of the stage/comic but this comedy club from a logistics standpoint is the worst in Dallas. They give free tickets out through reservations but over give these freebies and good chance you ll show up and be turned away even if you show up 30mins early per their policy. Don t make the mistake of relying on their reservation system, just buy tickets because they re very very cheap. Stick to beer here because the cocktails are complete garbage. No matter if youre going to the early show, they make ticket holders be jammed up, shoulder to shoulder, in their lobby instead of taking you to your table where you could start/continue to drink. The Ft Worth location doesn t have as many problems as the Dallas location but it s not much better. The Addison Improv or Texas Theater are muuuuuch better venues in Dallas for standup comedy. Take a note from these venues on how to allow people to take a seat when they arrive rather than being crammed in a lobby like cattle. This place needs an overhaul from almost every standpoint. Even if you have tickets, they state your tickets are not secured if you don t arrive 30mins early (subject to resale), while I ve never been turned away when I ve had tickets, this rule is ridiculous and part of their horrible lobby wait system.

Hyena s is an extraordinarily poorly managed comedy club. We ve been there three or four times, hoping the service, food and seating will be better but it continues to disappoint. This last visit they over sold the event by at least 40 seats (the lobby was full after they had filled all the seats and standing space along the wall). They get good acts so I really want to like the club, but they need to reevaluate how the club is managed. Dallas comedy club is far superior.

Went to see Joe Machi with friends. It is a typical- small venue comedy club. They definitely had the tables/chairs packed tight. 2 drink minimum is expected and drinks were good. Expect to spend $65 on drinks- plus tip. We bought the preferred seating. Not much different that general admission. Which is due to the venue being small. Overall- comics were ALL funny. No frill club- service was great and friendly!

I paid extra for preferred seating but because we didnt get there early enough we were put in the last row. I went back and looked at the confirmation email and it did in fact say to arrive 30 minutes early so it was annoying, but understandable. Once inside the theater, there is a 2 ITEM MINIMUM per person so just know youll have to get 2 drinks if you go. Our server was great as well. When inside the theater, the tables are for 4 people so just know you or your partner may be paired up with other people as well. The only thing I wasnt a super big fan of was just the way the seating is set up. I think this may not always be an issue depending where you get say but just know some spots might feel a little odd is all.

Not a bad comedy place. It s in the mocking bird shopping center next to the theater in the far back corner. Plenty of parking under the garage and around the stores. Came up to the place after an early show and had to wait about 15 minutes crammed into the bar area. Seems like this part could use a better system. Bar items bought don t count towards your 2 drink minimum. Once seated it s pretty similar to most comedy places. 2 drinks each person, seating of 4 per table so if you have two, you will be sat with another pair. All this is pretty similar set up to all comedy spots I ve been to. The venue is decent size. Beers were kinda warm. They serve food here which is a first for a comedy place but I didn t want to risk it so didn t try anything. One pole in one section of the venue which can impeach vision for a few tables. Overall a good time and a decent place to see some shows.

Me and my Co workers went and saw Eric Eaton on 10/15/23 and he was great his show was amazing! The drinks really are weak though and the shot i got wasnt even really a shot. I ordered a Kamikaze shot and it tasted like watered down cheap liquor, and the Electric Hyena was just sweet/sour. After having two drinks i felt nothing and I dont even drink often. The food was super basic and menu very limited but Id say if you are going to order anything stick to the snack items for your 2 item limit and drink before you get there. Hope this helps the next person. I only gave the 2 stars for the show being good. =)

This venue is a great place to see performers. It is small, but very cozy. There is not a bad seat in the house. We saw Rocky Dale Davis, and had a blast. Because it was a full house, the table service was a little slow, but I totally understand, and was not disappointed.

We saw our first show here on Saturday night (Sept 23, 2033) and loved it. Don t stress over some of the negative reviews out here. The people were friendly and the show was great! It s an intimate venue, seating is a little tight, but nothing wrong with that. The 2 item minimum is displayed on the website so we came expecting it. Drinks were a tad sweet, but good. We will be back. Plenty of parking in the parking garage. The shopping center that it s in is nice.

Tucked away in a shopping dining plaza. Clean bigger than I thought. Attended the 7pm Saturday showing and got seated right away at 630 pm. Waitress was quick and efficient. Comedian was easy to see and hear him, as we sat close to the stage on the right hand side. Drinks were ok. Tip: park in garage follow signs to hyennas. Otherwise will spend time driving around not visible from street, near movie theater.

Comedian was amazing. That s it. 2 item minimum per person is criminal, some of the food is lazy(pretty sure there a Cajun mix that s just trail mix in a bag), 95% of the menu is alcohol(some people don t drink), small strip club looking club. Overall an eyesore for such a nice new area.

The size of the venue is the norm compared to other comedy clubs I have been to. I went to see Nick Guerra and enjoyed him and the MC tremendously. The food menu is extremely limited. The dish I had was OK. And like most places my alcoholic drink was extremely watered down and that was fine by me. I will definitely go back again!

Came to see one of my favorite comedians. Took 20 minutes to find the place because it s hiding in the corner. You must buy 2 items off menu cool. However the menu was garbage. I could tell by the selections the food was going to be horrible. So I ordered a cocktail that tasted like koolaid, not a drop of liquor in that drink I m sure. A nice sugar rush. Small venue. Id come tipsy and just give them $20 for whatever bc the food/drinks aren t worth it!

BEWARE of this establishment! We attended the 7PM Joe Torry comedy show on Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 27th and it was a complete fiasco! This was our first time ever visiting this comedy club and it will be our last. We were excited since neither of us had been there before nor had we ever seen Joe Torry perform live. To our disappointment not only did we not get to see Joe Torry but we also DID NOT GET THE REFUND THAT WAS PROMISED!!!! Joe Torry and the establishment had a conflict over Joe s arrival time at the venue. The establishment apparently has a policy that comics must arrive by a certain time or they fire them. They fired Joe and he could not perform. How would I know all of this you ask? Because when Joe arrived he came in and took the stage to address his fans to let us know that he was there but not allowed to perform. He and the establishment aired everything out in front of all of the patrons, can you believe that! It was extremely unprofessional, if Joe was late he was wrong but we paid to see him and they would not let him perform. One of the employees then addressed the crowd and promised that everyone would receive refunds however we never did. When we called to inquire as to why our card was not credited the GM gave some made up story that we were suppose to give them our name that night in order to get a refund! What!! No way, that was never communicated. They have the credit cards everyone used to pay for the tickets which is how they knew to let you into the venue so that doesn t make sense. They had a packed house to see Joe Torry and they got the benefit of that and we got shafted. The comedian that they called in to replace him was good but we had just seen him a few weeks earlier at the Addison improv. SMH what a scam, we drove from an hour away in Little Elm. We will not be returning to this place.
