The brisket was very good, what surprised me was that I bought 1/4 of brisket, a beef rib and a drink and $39.70 was very expensive for what I got, I think they got me in my 5 minutes of pen. ..ho.

Alright. I got to say this. I m from Memphis, Tn. We are very picky about bbq and love to let everyone know we have the best. But this spot was recommended to me by a training director for a work seminar. I ordered the beef brisket as I do not eat pork. This was some of the best brisket I ve ever had in my life. No exaggeration. Price was 15.99 for a half pound I believe. And it was worth every cent. My buddy got the burnt ends and raved over them as well ! If you re able, go ! You won t regret it at all! Plenty of walk around area surrounding the place too. Parking: The lot for the restaurant had one open spot when we arrived. Other places close by to park as well. Some paid. Some free. Kid-friendliness: Kids would be fine here. No issues.

I actually had them do a catering event for 26. They did a fantastic job and the food was fresh, hot, the Mac and cheese was booming good. Everything was delicious. If they could do one thing better it would have been to add salad dressing to salad or offer a bottle and cut the chicken quarter legs.

This appeared to be a must try establishment. First time being from out of town and wished we went elsewhere. To start with this is not a typical ordering process. You order like you re at a market by the LB and it s wrapped up in butcher paper. Then all your sides are in little plastic containers. Then you go to your table and lay it all out for a free for all to pick from. No plates available. Everything was very spicy and unfortunately our brisket was dry. Parking was a chore as well.

For a place that sells subpar barbecue, you would think they d have good customer service. Welp not quite. The barbecue is basic, and the customer service is not good either. People here need to learn what the meaning of customer service is especially when you re selling basic food. 2 stars, because my dog likes the brisket!

I have tried the majority of the BBQ places in DFW. Always heard good things about Lockhart but never got around to trying. I would definitely put them in my top 3 favorite spots. Brisket is probably the best Ive had. Sides are all fire. Plus a great atmosphere/customer service. The only thing I did not love was the armadillo eggs.. in my opinion a little too much heat and not enough flavor. I prefer your standard Texas Twinkies.

Another upscale disappointing gentrified BBQ place. Cuts of meat were disappointing, dryer than a desert even upon request (brisket). Their Mac & cheese is their saving grace. Otherwise, other sides are awful choices and taste. Lastly, they didn t really need to do 7.60$ for a simple modelo.

No sauce needed, this is hands down the best BBQ in the world. Pork ribs are life changing, amazing flavor down to the bone. The brisket melts in your mouth. Beef ribs the size of your face, literally, with incredible bark and flavor. If youre lucky they will have smores bread pudding desert, its the greatest BBQ dessert ever created. On Sundays along other occasions they do smoked prime rib, slap your momma . Youre done thats it, youve found the best BBQ. This BBQ was rated the best in Dallas by other pit masters and they arent wrong. I wish I had more photos, I was too busy eating. This is not a cheap BBQ, this is the best BBQ.

Good atmosphere and everyone nice, the brisket(which is what I rate Texas bbq on) was just not it. Most other staple places like Hutchins and pecan lodge to name a few just do it better. Better bark and juicier. I asked for fatty brisket and either they don t do that here or their fatty brisket just can t compare. The sausage was fine but the jalapeño/cheese in it is very fine and it s left a bit salty. 10/10 pickled veggies though

Lockhart BBQ is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with the smell of smoked meat wafting through the air. And lets talk about the food - it was a carnivores dream come true. The brisket was perfectly cooked, with a beautiful smoke ring and mouthwatering flavor. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sausage was packed with delicious spices. The sides were just as impressive - the mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the coleslaw was fresh and tangy, and the cornbread was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The portions were generous and the prices were more than fair for the quality of food we received. I left feeling completely satisfied and already planning my next visit. If youre in the mood for some top-notch barbecue in a welcoming and authentic Texas setting, Lockhart BBQ is the place to go. Trust me, you wont be disappointed. Five stars all the way!

I recently tried Lockhart Smokehouse BBQ and was thoroughly impressed with the food. I ordered the spicy mac n cheese and ribs, and both were outstanding. **Food:** The spicy mac n cheese lived up to its name it was actually spicy and very tasty. The cheese was creamy and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat that enhanced the dish without overwhelming it. The ribs were equally amazing. They were perfectly cooked, with tender meat that practically fell off the bone. There was barely any fat, which made them all the more enjoyable. **Conclusion:** Overall, Lockhart Smokehouse BBQ delivered a fantastic meal. If youre a fan of spicy mac n cheese and top-notch ribs, this place is definitely worth a visit.

We did take out, which took a while as there was only one register and three people ahead of us. The sit down restaurants atmosphere was Texas roadhouse. The takeout area was small and unremarkable (though the smell there was enticing). What we got (brisket, pork ribs, and sausage) was good. The Mac n Cheese side was excellent. The other sides were okay. The quantity is a bit skimpy though. And dont go by the on line menu as several items we were interested in were said to be rarely offered!?

Just a fantastic voyage to eat here! Laid back atmosphere, cool memorabilia and has a bar. How can you eat bbq without a cold snack to wash everything down. I order literally everything meat wise except the chicken. Same thing for the sides. Spicy Mac and cheese and brisket baked beans were best I ve had. The kale (collard green) was outta this world. Potato salad and house coleslaw were delicious. I m a sucker for deviled eggs but those were brisket deviled eggs, say no more. Even the little extras, pickles spicy and traditional were nice and crisp. The meat: 1/3 lb jalapeño link, 1/3 lb some other sausage link, 1/2 lb brisket, 1/2 lb ribs, 1/2 lb Turkey. All were amazing but the the brisket and jalapeño link were my favorite. Sausage skin snapped when you bit into so good. Brisket you could eat without any teeth. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Dallas or lives here. The Bishop Arts district is also a really cool neighborhood with tons of bars, restaurants and shops.

We had 3 sides and helped ourselves to dill pickle slices and red onion picked onions. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to family and friends and would love to go back next time we re in Dallas.

Great BBQ! We had the brisket , sausage and half chicken. It was cooked perfect. The BBQ sauce on the table was amazing. The spicy pickles were a pleasant treat. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The bar tender was sweet and very friendly. Do yourself a favor, dont leave without having their banana puddin!

Ordered the brisket, ribs and sausage as well as other sides and the only thing I decently enjoyed was the brisket. Everything else was dry or not very good. I ll try again then update

This place use to have the best brisket and I truly enjoyed it. In my last few visits I d have to say I ve been pretty disappointed in the meats. It seems to me they may have changed pit masters since opening their new location in Plano. In the past few times I ve gone there brisket has been dry and not to standard of those awards on the wall.

Nice little spot for good Texas barbecue. Brisket burnt ends are made with a sweet glaze similar to how bacon burnt ends usually are and the result is amazing. The spicy Mac and cheese is also great with a nice kick.

We finally got to check Texas BBQ off our list! We made a quick trip from Idaho to check out UTD & on our last say, find some BBQ - Lockhart Smokehouse did not disappoint! The place was relatively quiet compared to the busy streets & sidewalks when we stopped in (which was really nice) & the guys at the counter were so helpful! Im sure we looked confused. I ordered the 1/2 chicken & potato salad. Oh my gosh it was good! The chicken was moist & SO flavorful (a good salty & smokey mix), and the potato salad was nothing like Ive had before (in the best ways). The boys had brisket (which they loved so much, they went back for more) & sausage (which they said is the best theyve ever had). Im sure well be back to Dallas & Im sure Lockhart will see us again when we return. Thanks for topping off our trip!!!

This has got to be the saddest bbq I ve ever had I left there extremely disappointed after having very bland tasting brisket. The lean brisket was as dry as beef jerky and the fatty brisket was flavorless.

Easily a top-5 all time barbeque for me. We sampled brisket, sausage, burnt ends, and a couple of sides. The spicy mac is with trying. The real star of the show was the burnt ends. Nothing was disappointing. Parking: Theres some panhandlers wandering around in the area, so I wouldnt recommend going alone.

Had been craving this place for a while, my wife and I went in and the service was extremely transactional, stale and overall garbage. Not like we went at a busy time. The guy in the glasses that took our order was very short and his bald co worker were not friendly whatsoever. I ve worked in Customer Service for a decade, and this is not how you treat people. Go to Hutchins instead, it s superior. - RP

Very disappointing. We went to the Bishop Arts district specifically to do some shopping and eat at the Lockhart Smokehouse. Neither the brisket nor the regular/original sausage had any flavor. The blue cheese coleslaw and macaroni and cheese were just OK, but the meats were not good. We were so disappointed and still craving some BBQ, we made a special trip to Pecan Lodge and bought some good BBQ to go.

Great folks in here, ver lovely. The wall art is amazing, must be a fortune in vintage metal and neon signs hanging up everywhere. The burnt tips were really yummy. but half chicken was quite red in the joints,. after additional cooking at home, it also was very yummy. Im not a big fan of the large paper wrap to eat from, maybe if I did it more often it would seem more convenient, the way eating with chop sticks becomes more natural as you keep doing it...I dunno. I am a huge fan of great cole slaw; personally, I found the bleu cheese cole slaw just wasnt enough like cole slaw, it felt like there was more cheese sauce than cabbage, which was limp and suffering in that binder. I suppose a particular fan of bleu cheese might find it delicious. The other slaw they offered, well I forget what it was, but it was another creative sounding offer. I would like to see them offer the option of a good, straight traditional style of slaw, fresh, crisp and crunchy. Its almost a sine qua non to do so at a bbq place, imho.

Lockhart Smokehouse BBQ serves up some of the juiciest and most amazing barbecue I ve ever tasted, with the jalapeno sausage being an absolute must-try. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, especially to us as first-time customers, making the experience even more enjoyable. We ll definitely be back on our next trip to Texas.

Ive been here numerous times and always leave happy. My favorites are the jalapeno cheese sausage, brisket and blue cheese coleslaw . Wash it all down with some sweet tea or Dr. Pepper, or if you prefer an ice cold shiner. Either way its all very delicious, and you have the option of spicy, bread & butter or sour pickles, pickled or fresh sliced onions for your BBQ. A must try. I would ve given it 5 stars if it hadn t been for the mealy sausages. I remember it tasting better than this so it was a disappointment. However, burnt ends tasted pretty good (albeit on the sweet side). Baked beans were excellent, and potato salad and coleslaw were pretty good too. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
