Just letting you know this place is infested with cock roaches! Hundreds!!!! Not clean I ve seen roaches in the kitchen and behind the bar! Inspectors need to come here! Also treats staff so poorly like garbage. The owner screams and treats his employees like they mean nothing you can hear it through the whole restaurant! Also tells employees to add extra items on drunk friends of the owner so he profits off them! Someone from the city health needs to investigate also all around terrible place to support and give money to considering who owns it!

My wife, toddler, and new born went out for an early Father s Day dinner. Ordered a medium rare ribeye and it came out gray / rare. Politely asked to have it cooked more or just a new steak since it looked weird. Brought out a new steak that was rare at best. By this time my toddler was screaming and my wife had to take her out. I just ate half of what was infront of me so I could get out with my newborn. I was still charged full price. Didn t have time to argue it. Definitely won t be back.

We ordered the 3 meat BBQ special. The brisket and smoked salmon were terrific. The pork loin was very disappointing. It was very dry. The potato salad reminded my wife of her grandmothers potato salad and the coleslaw was crunchy and not overdressed with a bit of an Asian kick. Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome though we didnt see any. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp available near the front door.

We went to this place, late in the evening, with one baby and two teen agers and I have to say that we were discriminated by the owner, who has the worst manners and service attitude. He said the the baby would DISTURB HIM because he was drinking at the bar at that moment and we wanted to seat by the tables in the front. He said, with the worst manners, that we could seat at the back of the bar. Since it was late and every place else were closed, we decided to stay and I got to say that food was ok (just the pasta was lacking of salt and flavor) and the service from the waitress was great. She saw the attitude of the owner and decided to treat us well. I think this place would be a great option, since closes late, but giving you the service or not depends on the owners mood, so I wouldn t recommend it at all.

If y all see good reviews for this place, I suspect they re probably written by the staff. Absolutely terrible food. We got the bruschetta which had no flavor. The smoked salmon, which was a cold baked cut that wasn t smoked and served with ketchup lol. Bacon wrapped dates which were passable and then brussels sprouts with bacon that tasted like it had been fried days before and tossed in the mix. My Moms Chardonnay was warm, and my rosé tasted like wet dog. I m truly not trying to be mean but we ve been here before in the past and it was extremely wonderful then. The quality is fallen so far that I can safely say will never be back.

Very disappointing. Beginning with drinks, the infused martini tasted like there was no alcohol in it. We ordered the jumbo stuffed olives as an appetizer, but received a small tray of about 10 tiny little olives with tinier pieces of some sort of white cheese and a small piece of a pepper--nothing like described in the menu. Each of our entrees (there were 5 of us) had something lacking in it. The special chili was so spicy that it was inedible. The Alfredo, while steaming hot, had no seasoning or taste. It appeared to be linguini with milk sauce. The flounder filet was pan fried to the point of toughness. The steaks were tough, even though they were cooked to order. The broccoli was undercooked, as was the risotto, and lacked seasoning. It did not resemble any risotto we had ever had before. The jumbo scallops were half their size. The menu is over priced, especially for the quality of the food. The only bright side was our server, Reagan, who asked for feedback. She took our concerns to management, but no one, either chef or manager, came to the table. We were comped our happy hour-priced wines (2) and the tiny olives appetizer. While we appreciated the gesture, it felt like our concerns were not taken seriously. The menu on the website appears alluring, but the execution falls terribly short.

Just picked up to go order of two cheeseburgers. Advertised on the menu with grilled onions and all fixings on the side. When we got home we had 2 patties with melted cheese and dry buns. NO GRILLED ONIONS NO FIXINGS on the side or anywhere else. When I called they offered that I could drive back and get the fixings. No offer of refund or comping of anything. We dressed the burgers at home and I could not finish the burger as I had to continuously spit our fat and gristle. THE WORST EVER! We even tipped 20% on our NOTHING BURGERS. This place needs to go out of business and fast.

Went a few years ago and the meal was delicious. Returned this evening and was disappointed. Our server was less than friendly and had zero personality. She laughed when we ordered and said I guess I should have told you we are out of these things. She never returned to see if we needed anything (we needed knives, salt, and refills) until the end when she delivered the check. The food was hit or miss. Our drinks were all served in tiny kids cups while the other tables had real glasses. The caesar salad lettuce had red edges on almost every piece, the avocado in an appetizer was not ripe, steak was really overcooked, and the use of so much black pepper as seasoning should be illegal. On the plus side - the bacon wrapped dates were awesome. Music is really loud and contains vulgarity and it seems it is more for the employees enjoyment vs. the dining clientele. We will not be returning for basic over priced food and poor service.

The scallop risotto was regular rice cooked in chicken broth with chunks of unseasoned butternut squash. The scallops were burnt and the saltiest things Ive experienced! The nachos that supposedly have chunks of lobster & crab had zero lobster or crab. They were incredibly spicy & the chips were burned black on the tops from being reheated under a broiler. They told us that wed have to be charged if we wanted any sour cream than the dollop provided when we requested some in order to be able to temper the spice level of the nachos to make them edible. The brushetta had 3 shockingly small pieces. We left to come order pizza so we could eat edible food for dinner.

Black Sheep Bistro 3.23.23 We were excited to reignite our tastebuds from one of our favorite local restaurants. It has been a couple of years. Actually planned some business in the area so we could be there for the 5 pm opening for dining. Ordered the classic Little Joe medium rare; it was more rare than medium, it was inedible in the middle. Served with blood-soaked, cold, garlic mashed potatoes. Had to ask for a new serving of mashed. The veggies were nice; crisp and seasoned well. Ok, dealt with it. Then a patron, apparently a regular, sat down at the bar. He was loud, an over talker, and was dropping f-bombs with every other word. Not one of the 4 front of the house staff said anything. Totally inappropriate behavior; patron and the staff. So I called the patron out. Excuse me, would you mind When I asked him to turn off the f-bombs, he went ballistic. Joyfully, he left the restaurant claiming it was a bar and insinuating I was out of line, insulting my dinner choice of steak. I reminded him that this was once considered fine dining that happened to have a bar. There were three, all 50+ couples trying to enjoy an over $100 meal. We continued on with our meal to the inappropriate pop/dance music obviously chosen by the staff, not by the actual patrons. Did I already say it was a 50+ group? NOBODY wants to hear techno. Two bartenders. Kayleigh was very personable and managed to salvage our over $150+ plus dinner with her personality and responsiveness. Her colleague focused on the other guy drinking at the bar who was a friend of the offensive patron. The employee and the drinker spoke rapid Spanish, very loudly throughout our entire meal. Poor Kayleigh had to repeat the special to us twice due to the volume of the staff/patron conversation. Kayleigh was stocking the bar, cutting garnishes, and of course, periodically checking on us. Disappointed is mild to the way I felt. We had been looking forward to creating a memorable meal at an old favorite. The staff, the atmosphere, misfire on the food was just too much. Black Sheep Bistro is now just a drive-by on our dining experience list. Savor your money, time, and tastebuds and go to Roosevelts or The Phoenix. They both understand the entire dining experience. And they both employ and train staff who also embody that spirit. (I am easy to find online if you would like a copy of my entire Coast Bend dining guide. I am a foodie and just provide for my clients. Not a professional food critic, just a hard-working gal.)

I can only imagine what was crawling around in the kitchen! Im also handicapped and theres no ramp to get in the door. The bartender had to pile loose wood scraps at the entrance as a makeshift ramp just to get me & my wheelchair inside. It was extremely difficult and quite embarrassing. Ive been to plenty of restaurants that are ADA compliant & friendly but Black Sheep sure doesnt seem to be. Its a shame because the food was ok but the experience was horrible & expensive! Wow is all I can say. I ordered a simple ribeye. So lets start from the topdown. They waterboarded my steak with a sauce if you can call it that. It was more like the grease pile leftover off your portable george foreman grill. The steak after scrapping the grease sauce wasnt much of an improvement. I asked for medium rare and the poor waitress had to keep the steak from mooing on the way out it was so rare. The Fries were bland and tasteless, worst fries I have ever had. I question how raw they actually were. How does a chef mess up a french fry? Ill give it one star for service alone but I cant add any stars for food. The service was good but I could only eat two bits of the steak before I gave up. Im going back to the hotel because I feel sick now. Fire the cooks because they put 0 fire under their food.

The customer service here is great! I got a margarita on the rocks and it was pretty good. I give the Bistro 3 stars because I think this restaurant would be better suited to serve appetizers and drinks only, based on the other reviews I have seen and from my own experience - I ordered the bourbon pork chops on the menu and they said that they were out (which happens) but then when I ordered another dish, they said that they no longer serve that item. At that point I decided to go somewhere else for food. I asked for my check to pay my drink and the waitress said she talked to the kitchen and they said that they found 2 pork chops and would be willing to cook it for me but I declined. Again great customer service and drinks, if it was based on that I would have given 5 stars.

The vegetables were so salty and the rice was bland. My husband order the grouper $35 which was under cooked, no sauce, no flavor and his vegetables were also salty. Forgot to bring a salad, orders still continued to be long. Steak was well done when I ordered medium. It was warm but not hot. Mashed potatoes were bland. Tried this place out for the first time. We tried to make a reservation, but the place said they were full. Went up there to try to sit at the bar, and the restaurant was nearly empty. The waitress said they were just telling people that because their system was down? Ordered a steak and grouper, and it took nearly an hour. The steak was over cooked as well. Remember, there was nearly no one there either! They took the steak back, and we waited almost another full hour for the steak to get fixed!! Tried to tell the owner about our feedback, and as soon as we mentioned the steak he just said, have them take it off the check , and walked away while we were in mid sentence. Very rude to the few customers in there. All in all, we are locals and would not recommend this place until their service is corrected (bartender was great though). Giving it two stars because once we got the food, and the steak corrected, it was actually good. Point to add-we understand staffing issues etc. But the owner did not even want to hear us out about what happened or try to explain why it could have taken longer than it should etc. Never have been treated more poorly at a restaurant by the owner than there!!

Chef Ramsey should try and save this place. Tons of potential but a bust. Should have read the reviews. Out of all seafood dishes, which is why we came, ordered the ribeye and honesty Texas Roadhouse or even Applebee s has a much better steak. It was incredibly dark for a dining experience. They were short staffed which made service slow. That aspect didn t bother me that much cuz island life is slow but added to the bad experience. Mashed potatoes had no flavor and my daughters fried chicken was the best thing we had. $100 after tip and we could have gotten a much better experience elsewhere.

We went for Valentines thinking it would be more upscale based on the prices. Its not. I ordered the apple bourdon glazed bone-in pork chop, what I received was under cooked pork that was incredibly bland with no glaze at all. My girlfriend ordered the grouper, the risotto accompanying it was more like plain grits and overall the dish was terrible and bland. We informed the waitress who informed the manager who said the glaze is sometimes clear... its not a donut. As expensive as this place is, its not worth any special occasion or your time.

Food was not at all presented or prepared like how it looks in the photos on Black Sheep Bistro website. I ordered the tomato bisque soup, which was fine, and the crab and lobster cake. The crab & lobster cake was so disappointing. I was expecting that it would look as it did on the website, but it was one single crab cake and mostly bread filling. There was hardly any crab or lobster in it and the one meaty piece I did get tasted very fishy. It did not have the microgreens and sauce on top, as it was shown on the website, and instead had some wilted spring greens and a small container of sauce on the side. The website photo also showed it coming with two crab cakes, not one. My partner ordered the smoked gouda burger with fries and again, it was not anything like it was shown on the website photos. It was just a very standard burger, nothing exceptional. Overall, Id say the food, between the flavor and presentation, was sad.

We were in from out of State for Christmas and wanted to go somewhere nice with my parents and settled on Black Sheep Bistro. Our waitress was super sweet and explained the menu well, stating the steaks were like butter and would melt in your mouth. That was 100% the farthest from the truth. We have never had a tougher or worse tasting steak in our lives. We spent $400 here and the only thing good were the jalapeño appetizer and salads. We would have been better off at Whataburger.

Went there for dinner. We had our puppy with us so we asked if it was ok to eat outside with him, they said sure. I asked if they had pet dinners, the waitress said she could make him some chicken and some brown rice. I said that would be great. She charged me $24 for that puppy special! We ordered dinner, I wanted the special of the day. They charged me $38 for 2 small, burnt fish fillets that had me choking on bones and scales. I said something to the waitress about the quality of the fish and she said the Chef apologizes. I can t believe they hustle people like this. I have paid much less for better food. Don t get taken advantage of by these crooks. I will never be back! See my receipt for 2 adults and 1 Yorkie

Took over 20 minutes to get two iced teas. Ordered a crab cake for an appetizer, and it was still cold in the middle. Ordered the beef tips with potatoes, and it literally came with 5 chunks of meat, which for $21 is crazy expensive. May have been an off night for them,, but I would not recommend.

Went here with a large group, service was incredibly slow. Place your food orders right when you sit down because it will be a long wait until it arrives. We placed our entree order after the appetizer (which we already waited ~20-30 mins for) and it was an additional 45-60 mins before they came out. I will note that once we got our entrees, quite a few of them were cold/bland. Not what we expected from the menu and prices. The nacho appetizer was good. Speaking of prices, they are too high, which is what I expected for the area, but this place is a ripoff. Charging $16 for ONE crab cake is a bit ridiculous. $32 for 4 jumbo scallops that come out to be the size of a nickel was a surprise as well. Our server did not apologize for the wait at any point, so this must be normal for the establishment when looking at other reviews. She was terse and cold until we left. All in all, you can expect better service and food from Domino s pizza, which is what we picked up after our 3+ hour engagement at Black Sheep Bistro.

This restaurant has a great concept, much needed for the area, however the execution is beyond lacking. Fondue that comes out cold, without a burner to warm it, for $24 is pretty ridiculous. The meals were pretty good, they just werent as elevated as the price tag was. Conceptually a great place with potential, I hope they get it together.

From world travelers and foodies: This is without doubt the best restaurant in the city and one of the best in the state. We started with the Nutty Caesar Salad, very unique and tasty. For entrees, I had the Seafood Stuffed Sea Trout and my wife had the Grilled Grouper. Both were delicious, especially the trout, which one rarely finds on menus these days. They have an excellent wine list. Service was great and the waitstaff well informed about the menu and wines. We dined early but the restaurant was full by 6 so reservations are recommended. Our only regret is that we dined there our last night in Corpus. Had we known we would have been there every night of our stay.

Dinner last night was fantastic. Arrived in town later than expected. A few other restaurants were projecting 90 minute waits at 9pm. Black sheep seated our party of 4 immediately at a very large table and made us aware of the kitchen closing in 30 minutes. We ordered the tenderloin bruschetta which was great. The food and drinks were served right away. The main courses shortly thereafter. The service was fantastic and the food was very tasty.

I dont recommend this place. Appetizers we ate with no forks or napkins, until they brought the entry, and we reminded them about it. My red fish should have come with shrimps on top, when i complained to the waiter she said it was chopped up in the sauce. There was no shrimp there, only big chunks of sausage, which wasnt chopped up. Also barely noticeable pieces of lobster in crab and lobster nachos, considerably smaller plate than in the pictures. In addition to all of this i think it is overpriced! $9 for 3 piecea of bruchetta with pesto! First time ever i was disappointed with a restaurant during my 20 day texas trip!! *edit. When i later looked at my check, happy hour was not discounted, (wednesdays 5 to 7) this made me feel even better for not living a tip to Carla.

Waitstaff was great, kind and courteous. The food, especially for the price, was subpar. My wife and I are here on vacation, looking forward to incredible seafood but left disappointed. She ordered the scallops, which I know are hit or miss, but these were a big miss. They were quite small, only seared on one side, chewy and fishy tasting. We sent it back and the waitress was completely understanding and apologetic. We subbed it for the shrimp appetizer, overcooked, but better than the scallops. I had the Flounder Alfredo with angel hair pasta. The fish was also only seared on one side, but cooked decently and flavored well enough. Not a complete bust, and the waitstaff made it tolerable, but I wouldn t plan on returning for the expense.

Food had some flavor, however the service was incredibly unprofessional. We were a party of 9 and saw our server a handful of times during our dinner. In the beginning she made comments like sure and I guess. In addition, our drinks were empty and stayed empty. We waited on food for a while which is okay, but an hour later and only one refill until we left made it difficult to eat. Then we were hit with gratuity after the poor service. When I spoke to the manager she stated she wished I wouldve told her. In any other restaurant, the managers check on their tables. Looks like a good place to just enjoy some adult beverages possibly. If you go, I hope your service and experience are better than mine.

I was trying to order for a large group and I wanted 10 orders of hot wings and some other appetizers. I was told first that they don t accept that many orders then when she came out she said I will need your credit card....ummmmmm that s the point to pay for EVERYTHING I m ordering. Then she came back with we can only do 4 orders. What I m trying to figure out is if we went into the restaurant would we have been refused the service????? Black Sheep was a quick way to ruin a birthday dinner. Only way to find out that a reservation was required was a sign on the door. They made an exception and gave us a table after a 45 minute wait outside. After being seated, our server didnt show up to the table for 30 minutes. We saw her standing behind the bar on her phone instead of coming to the table. We finally placed our order, that look another 50 minutes. We ordered drinks from the bar that didnt arrive until after we started eating. Our waitress never refilled drinks, had someone else bring our food out, visited our table twice the whole night, and watched us eat birthday cake off the box with dirty silverware without a single care in the world. For the cost of Black Sheep, you could eat anywhere in Corpus and have better service and better food. Absolutely terrible experience
