From the staff, to the food, to the atmosphere - Mot Hai Ba is top tier. A++ We go at least once a month, but I could eat here every day. They are always introducing new things to the menu and because the food is so good, I like to try something new each time. I think I ve had everything on the menu and literally never once disliked a single menu item. The Crispy Rice cakes, Kimchi and Gruyère Fritters, Crab & grapefruit salad, and Shaking Beef are absolute must try!

Amazing!! My new favorite high end restaurant in all of DFW. Got their tempura fried squash blossoms (must get), jasmine tea beat salad, escargot agnolotti (like a ravioli, must get), garlic noodles (must get), kimchi foie gras dumplings (pass, too oily with beef tallow poured all over). Most dishes were super yummy and great mix of creativity taste and size. Got a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a special occasion and they shot a Polaroid of us! Top marks all around for food, service, price, and experience. Highest recommendations for Mot Hai Ba

Mot Hai Ba delivers an unforgettable experience that will leave you wanting to return immediately! Recently having visited Mot Hai Ba for the first time the only thing I question is why it took so long to get here. The menu oozes a fusion of Italian, French, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese and it knocks it out of the park. Different from anywhere else the small cozy spot will offer many tasty options sure to please all. Will definitely be back and will spread the word as well! Get to Mot Hai Ba!

This restaurant is held back by its cocktails. The food was stellar, but the cocktails are batch made, and go down like pear puree and not in a good way. Thick, heavy flavors lacking the balance of acids and dilution. The beet Margarita doesnt even list Lime, and for good reason as it seems to be missing the quintessential ingredient that makes the Margarita the best selling cocktail in the country. The Hen+Hive, which seems to be on multiple versions of the seasonal menu goes down like a slurry of spicy sugary sand. And honestly, the spice level is high, but is perfect for those searching, if only there were any other flavors to balance it out. Again, lacking acid despite listing lemon, finding a refreshing cocktail on this menu was a chore - one we gave up on after a single cocktail each, especially after being told no modifications because the cocktails were pre-made. The Beets with blue cheese and honey was the only dish we didnt fall in love with food-wise. The Lamb was some of the best weve ever tasted, cooked to perfection and falling apart on our fork. The oysters were fantastic, the chicken curry as well. The garlic noodles as a side are an absolute must. Overall, the experience was fine, but a word to the wise, if the drinks are poorly made, the guest will be reminded between every fantastic bite of food. And make no mistake, the food was fantastic.

I don t have enough words to describe how wonderful this place is. The food is incredible and unlike anything I ve had in Dallas (and beyond), the staff is A++, and the overall feeling you get when you re dining just feels like home. It s small, intimate, and with just the right lighting. This is great for a date night or just to come by for a drink after work. I can t thank the chef and servers enough for being as kind as they were to us last night. It made the experience even more special and I can t wait to come back(it ll probably be next week!). A snug and intimate restaurant that utilizes an exposed brick aesthetic to lend to its rusticity. I had high hopes for this quaint place and it did NOT disappoint. Our experience was very much on par with that of a Michelin starred restaurant. All the items were unique and enjoyable. Heres everything we ordered: Market fresh oysters*: Simply divine. Highly recommend getting these. We ordered 4 between the 2 of us. Couldve gotten 6. Hamachi Crudo: Very interesting - a recurring theme youll see in this review. Weve usually seen hamachi crudos consist of oranges, but not this one. This time had strawberries. Fried Avocado*: crispy and delicious. Also interesting. Dauphiné Ravioli: Interesting and good. Good to have one time. Crispy Vietnamese rice cake*: Very messy, but worth it! The rice cake with the various greens was an explosion of welcome flavor. Would get this again. Shaking beef**: Freaking fantastic. Some of the most tender tenderloin Ive had. Paired with the garlic noodles, *chefs kiss*. 5/5. Kimchi and Foie Gras Dumplings: This included a table side presentation and that was the highlight because this was the only item we disliked. I felt the various flavors conflicted with each other. Chocolate cake*: do not be deterred by the lack of flare in the name. For this was anything but an ordinary chocolate cake. Everything about this cake was delicious. Particularly the hazelnuts. Our server was also very kind. Im very particular when it comes to giving a fine dining restaurant 5 stars, but I feel this place undoubtedly deserves it given the risk they take with each item and how they successfully deliver on each risk as well. Our total was $203. We look forward to visiting again. * indicate items wed order again and recommend.

We were thoroughly impressed, from the appetizers to dessert. Our main server Sabrina was a complete experience. She made suggestions that turned out to be on point. We have been around the world to many upscale restaurants, but we were impressed our table was cleaned and plates, silverware, and napkins all replaced between each course. Simple impressed. We will be returning to this little find. Thank you for such a a memorable meal! Sabrina a special thanks for making us feel like we had been there many times before.

We usually go as a group celebration and eat family style so you get yummy bites of every dish. It does require reservations and is a bit pricey. Ambiance and service were on point. Tuna and Cucumber was our favorite dish. It has a similar flavor profile to Cambodian prahok dipping sauce. The banh bao were good but it was a lot more bao than filling. I had the Grilled Hamachi. The hamachi was cooked perfectly but the soup it was floating on was very sour and served cold. It reminded me of Vietnamese Sweet & Sour Soup (Canh Chua) except it was all sour. The garlic noodles and stuffed leeks were good and overall, everything was ok but the meal was a bit heavier than we expected.

I hadn t been in years! But it is so good!! They have a gluten free menu upon request. We had their tempura which was surprisingly gluten free. Their cocktails were nice and refreshing. We ordered the whole branzino with jasmine rice and the scallops. The sauce on the whole branzino was so delicious! The scallops were a little small and came with 3 but the overall dish was excellent.

This is my new most favorite restaurant to dine at. Have been two times in one month, and will go again as soon as I can! Service is impeccable. Especially our server, Ashley. Food is divine. Absolutely everything is perfect. Loved the stuffed squash blossoms / stuffed kale leaves in winter. Loved the curried chicken, the shaking beef, the special cocktails, the fried avocado salad. Do not delay - make a reservation now!

So close to perfect. My wife and I had a great date night at Mot Hai Ba. The service was great, the food was great. Im not sure if it was what we ordered, but we found that the amazing flavors were overshadowed by the spiciness of the dishes. It was clear that the food was flavorful, interesting, and beautifully presented, but it felt hidden by the spiciness. Id love to go again and try other food.

Disclaimer: I have NOT dined in this restaurant, and this picture is from another customer, but i feel the content of this review will still be relevant. Initially i was very interested in trying out this restaurant for our trip to Dallas since im always itching for good fusion restaurants. However, all my excitement turned into anger the second i saw this picture of this dish being served here. You DO NOT USE RICE AS A DECORATION FOR YOUR DISHES LIKE THAT! It is a massive disrespect to the Vietnamese culture! Our history, geography, cuisine, lifestyle, etc...are strongly tied with rice. Rice is consumed probably 90% of the time in a Vietnamese meal, in one form or another. Rice is TO BE EATEN, not a DECOR! This is true not only for Vietnamese in Vietnam but Vietnamese-American too. The amount of uncooked rice you put on there for decoration to appear authentic could become a staple for a family meal of 3 or 4 peeps. Such a wasteful and offensive use of such an ingredient. And dont tell me you reuse the rice later after you put semi-raw seafood on there and it being exposed to who-knows-what on the table. If your business relies on the Vietnamese culture, then learn to respect the fundammental aspects of the culture first before branching out and be innovative. I dont leave out the possibility that i would try this restaurant out in the future, because some dishes look interesting and appetizing (but not very authentic), but until the owner of this restaurant show a little bit more respect to the culture and not using bits here and there of our cuisine for a cash grab, it wont earn me and my familys business.

Overall the experience was just ok. The mood is great, as was the service. But the food was just ok, with the main being extremely disappointing. The pork dumplings have an unpleasing texture and lacked flavor. On this item, I would have rather spent $5 on some frozen dumplings from the nearby Asian market. The crispy rice appetizer was pretty good, as was the green papaya salad, but the over priced and under whelming main could not be overcome. In my opinion, more trendy than tasty.

My husband had the Kimchi and Foie Gras Dumplings with A5 Wagyu Ribeye - seriously too good to describe. You must get a side of the garlic noodles along with whatever you order. The bar selections were excellent and reasonable. Our waitress made phenomenal pairing suggestions after we asked. Highly recommend.

HOLY WOW. Truly the best dining experience I have ever had. Every single dish was unbelievable. The service was amazing. Sabrina at the Lakewood location was a gem. She had every single answer for all of our questions and was such a joy to be around. If she could have pulled up a chair and ate with us, we would have loved it! The turnip dumplings and shaking beef were my favorite. But genuinely all the entrees we ordered were unmatched.

Why on earth did you get rid of the best Pho in Dallas.?!! I m heartbroken... and we were told you may not even bring it back when the temps cool off.... that s the main reason I go there... last trip since there was no Pho, I was forced to try something new... so I ordered the chicken curry.... meh... kind of dry and on the bland side... I will not order that dish again... so I m only giving you 4 stars... I will say I like the ambience and the staff is great! ....I will check back during the Fall to see if this travesty has been rectified...

The owner literally is a Siberian appropriating Vietnamese cuisine. When Vietnamese customers voiced their complaints of how far this restaurant s food deviated from the authentic food, they responded by DISCRIMINATING Vietnamese customers. They require a reservation to dine in and if you have an ounce of accent they will reject you. If you stop by and happen to be Asian they will make you wait until you re frustrated enough to leave. To the owner: if you can t take the criticism then don t open a Vietnamese restaurant. Or as they say, if you can t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

I need to first put out the disclaimer that the staff were truly kind and attentive and the vibe is on par with this area of Victory Park which showcases some cool restaurant concepts. However, as someone who frequents and enjoys trying Asian concept restaurants and being Vietnamese nonetheless, I felt the name of the restaurant was misleading. Reading the reviews, I was looking forward to a Vietnamese based cuisine with a twist . However, I felt this Asian fusion type of restaurant steered away from the roots of Vietnamese food and tasted nothing like it. Sorry to be so honest but I was very let down by the food choice and experience. Otherwise, I would give the staff five stars for their attentiveness and service.
