Great place for date nights or hangout with friends and colleagues. Highly recommend the Cajun chicken pasta...flavorful but not too spicy. Service could be better.. took a while for them to take my order and eventually bring my check and process payment. Cant say the place was bustling as it was lunch hour on a weekday.

It was our first time here. We got invited by our credit card and were glad we did go. The place is beautiful decorated and the ambiance is luxury, calm but fresh at the same time. We had a reservation and got seated right away. We were a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their dishes: French onion soup, rib mash, chicken sandwich and fish tacos were very savory and delicious. The only downside is that the service is very lousy: 2 hostesses chit chatting and on their phone, our server was known for not showing to our table at all and the food took longer than expected on a half empty restaurant. The only one worth recognition was the server assistant that always had our glasses full of water and tea. This place has a lot of potential just needs better staff.

My group of 5 friends and I decided to go to The Finch to celebrate my birthday and it was fantastic. Since it was an unusually pleasant evening for September, we asked to be seated outside. The patio is very nice and it s going to be a great place to sit, relax and have some amazing food & drinks once the fall weather has arrived. First, the drinks. The menu claims that they have the Worlds Smoothest Espresso Martini it s the truth. Two friends ordered the espresso martini and raved about them so much that I had to take a sip. It was so smooth and balanced that I almost ordered one as well, but I stayed with my original classic martini instead. My vodka martini was also very smooth, and I enjoyed the blue cheese stuffed olives that it came with. They also have a good wine selection, and I had a very nice red Zinfandel with dinner. For appetizers, we shared an order of the smoked trout dip and an order of the Tzatziki and spicy Feta. Both of these were really good, though I would have liked the trout dip to be a bit more fish forward. They were served with Naan bread, baked pita chips, Old Bay saltines and crispy potato waffles, which were the crowd favorite. For the main entrée, I can t tell you what everyone got but it was obvious that most everyone really enjoyed their meals. Two entrées in particular got rave reviews, the Wagyu Chicken Fried Steak and the Shrimp and Grits. We did have 1 hiccup during dinner. Two of us ordered the Prime Rib. I ordered mine Medium Rare and my friend ordered hers Rare-Rare. I usually like my steaks rare to medium rare, and usually a medium rare prime rib comes out very pink and tasty. My friends order came out perfect and delicious. Unfortunately, mine did not. If I had to guess, I would have said that it was 1 slice in from the very end - the most cooked through piece of the roast. It had a very hard, dry coating and the meat was definitely overdone. I tried cutting off the outer layer to see if that helped, but it was just too dry. Because the restaurant was very busy, and our table was kind of out on the edge of the patio, the server didn t have a chance to get back to us until about halfway through the meal. I let her know about the problem and she was very apologetic. She took away the plate and immediately offered to get me something else, but at that point I wasn t very hungry and didn t want to make the group wait for me to eat so I declined. A bit later a manager also came out to apologize for the problem and offered to get me something else, and since the group had just been talking about their battered fries, I asked for an order of them. The fries were very good crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I was actually very satisfied with how the issue was handled and appreciative of the staff wanting to make sure that I was happy. For dessert, the server brought me out a piece of the Flourless Chocolate Torte for my birthday and it was rich and creamy and delicious. Someone else ordered the Butterscotch Pecan Bread Pudding and we passed both desserts around so everyone could have a taste. Both were very good, but for me chocolate will always win the day. All in all, I definitely would and have recommend The Finch to others and we will be going back.

I ve been in a couple of times before ( especially since I just moved into the neighboring lofts ) and for whatever reason this time I was sat at the bar where I couldn t get any service. The hostess was too involved with her phone and the bartender was inattentive. I ended up just leaving because I felt invisible and uncomfortable as a party of 1. Would have preferred to sit in the main dining room where waitstaff was taking care of the guests

I recently attended a birthday dinner with a large group at The Finch. The ambiance and food were wonderful, but the service was disappointing. We were aware of the $2,000 minimum and had no issue continuing to drink and spend. However, the staff seemed uncomfortable serving us due to our server being in recovery from alcoholism. This left us feeling like they were trying to push us out, even though we re a tame, respectful group. When we asked if we could get a gift card for the remaining balance, the request was denied. Instead, we were pressured to buy bottles of wine, which felt forced and unnecessary. While I fully support a healthy environment for staff, it shouldnt come at the expense of guest experience. This approach put a damper on our celebration, and I hope The Finch makes adjustments to better accommodate their customers moving forward.

HIGH IMPORTANCE Good afternoon milkshake concepts, had to get this to Tommy, Rodman, and Imran Sit down, have some water table side and take notes. As you all know I was let go today. Reasons were unorganized Let me just start with Harper s Nashville. The floor crew is the only crew I have ever seen that We pay 7,000/month! 7/1=$84,000!! Yearly! & they use all our equipment/chemicals Gloves, Chemicals, Mop heads, our vacuum cleaner literally everything. (Which messes with Chemical Pars) First and foremost Hayden Gregory needs to be promoted properly to Sous Chef. He has been the best help out of anyone. Speaking of chemicals they need to be ordered for asap for Harper s Nashville please and thank you. I want harpers to be known world wide. I greatly appreciate the time and service for everything. Out of all the fine dining experience, I have to say Harper s was my favorite experience for the GUEST!!

The food was amazing. Do not skip the tzatziki amd salmon crudo - both are super flavorful. Our entrees were huge! The wagyu chicken fried steak was so tender! The shrimp scampi pasta was perfect! All around just a super fun experience for us and we will definitely be back! Be sure to request Jonathan for your server. We were so full we skipped dessert!

Took my wife here on a date night. Food was fantastic I had the steak frites. Amazing. Service was excellent also. Atmosphere was ok, was a little louder than I would have expected, I guess its due to the younger crowds that come here...but that did not take away from a great dining experience. A+ in my book.

Ordered steak and eggs medium with horse radish cream sauce on the side and got pretty much well done with horse radish in. also waiter didn t ask how i wanted the eggs just gave me sunny side up and the white was still quite raw. Potatoes were not crispy at all and bland might as well have been mashed potato instead. Also some of the glasses we got were dirty and stained. It s not that much of a welcoming establishment and it s easy to feel singled out especially as a poc would not recommend this place to friends/family, service was sub par and the food was mid at best.

Our recent visit left us with mixed feelings. While the server promptly took our order, there was no follow-up to ask about details like how we wanted our food cooked, which we would have appreciated. However, what really stood out was the lack of warmth and attentiveness from the person at the front. We were neither greeted upon arrival nor acknowledged as we left. She remained absorbed in her phone, which felt quite unwelcoming. We don t expect a grand gesture, but a simple hello and goodbye would go a long way in creating a more inviting atmosphere. Given that this is a nice restaurant with a menu on the pricier side, I believe the service should reflect a higher standard of care and hospitality.

OMG!!!! This is the best meal that we have had in Dallas Texas thus far. We started off with the Rock Shrimp appetizer. Let me tell you it was a burst of flavor and just the right amount of crunch. The my husband had the fish tacos loaded with an abundance of fish, the mango salsa and coleslaw was a nice touch of freshness. The flavors were amazing but not overwhelming. I had the short rib dish and let me tell you that it was so tasty and tender and the poblano Mac and cheese was out of this world. I have never had such an amazing dish. I also had a martini sampler. They were all amazing. My favorite was the pomegranate martini. The grand finale was the butterscotch pecan bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Let me tell you that the hot bourbon Carmel, pecans and fresh berries put it over the top. Our server Jonathan was awesome. His knowledge of the menu was great and his service was on point The food and drinks came out in a timely manner. We got to meet the Manager Anthony he came out and talk to us several times and wanted to make sure our experience was stellar. If you come to Dallas Texas this is a must dine here experience. Also dont forget to request Jonathan as your server he wont disappoint.

Walked through the door lovely lady opened w a warm smile got to the server of our table no energy no customer service skills thats important to serving n earning customers for life. Asked him about diff drinks instead of giving suggestions he pointed towards the menu no suggestions b just stood there. First time being there celebrating my 40th birthday which is big was not acknowledged seeing i made reservations. The server was black n i watched him interact w other tables of Caucasian ppl n his attitude was very different n upbeat im very observative before i make assumptions. Dont look down on ppl the ones u look down on are the ones that tip well. I left unhappy food was spectacular view amazing. Left him a tip well above the level of service he gave. I cant say I will come back restaurants that I have been to come n sing r show some type of happy Birthday gesture or a simple thank you for celebrating your birthday would have been nice n okay. The Caucasian lady that served us water was who I would have served us she had tats on her arm couldnt remember her name beautiful young lady beautiful spirit pls keep those type of ppl they will bloom your business

Googled the place on Sunday after arriving from a late (delayed) flight to Dallas, TX. Advertised they closed at 11:00 p.m., so arriving at 10:00 p.m. we thought great! When stepped in, we had a wait at the host desk. When someone finally came to greet us, instead of Welcome, would you like a table, booth, inside, out side, or something friendly, we were met with a direct stare and a hard, May I help you?, as if we were interrupting them from something more important. It was more in line with, What do you want?. Puzzled I said, we would like to be seated... Are you still open? The response was a hard, The bar is open, but the kitchen is closed... Not wanting to cause a scene I just said, No thank you, were hungry and will try some one else. We got a smirk, and a turn around and walked away. No thank you for stopping by or anything. Just a dimisal... Ive dined here before, however I will wait for a new staff before I ever step foot in this place again. NO THANK YOU! Parking: Its a lot of work for such a poor reception. Maybe try again in a couple years...

My husband and I love experiencing nice restaurants. This restaurant was underwhelming and as I type my stomach is upset. The donut holes are 5 hard pieces of dough served w/ jelly & Nutella. We ordered several appetizers my husband said the salad was the best (Go figure). Entree for me French Toast (dry) & jalapeño sausage ( one link cut up and overcooked). Hubby had short rib hash which he said was 6/10. My niece and her boyfriend. They had steak and egg (over cooked dry not real steak) and some sort of burger needed condiments. Drinks: Strawberry Lemonade and Hubby Cranberry Mimosa Carafe he said very basic- had to mix himself. We spent $272 not including our $54 tip. PS: The table next to us sent their chicken and waffles back as the chicken was cold and second order he said chicken not seasoned. Oh and they did not have several menu items! Only plus free valet however was full fairly early!

From her knowledge of the menu with popular selections, to somehow knowing my flavor notes! Every suggestion was spot on and was mind blowing! My cocktail: Signature drink the Finch- was light and refreshing! My entree was amazing! It s called Steak Frites & Fries! Absolutely amazing! I would fly back to Dallas just to eat here again! Our son, Kylan Herchman & wife Stephany had been telling us how much they enjoyed The Finch in Grand Prairie, so they gave us a $100 gift card for Christmas. Since May 3rd was our 39th wedding anniversary, we decided to go and take them with us. We were truly not prepared for the wonderful atmosphere , delicious food and great service provided by our waiter, Zach! We made a 5:00pm reservation and was greeted with, happy anniversary & seated inside where the beautiful view of the water display was! We are older and just moved to this area and it was the best Anniversary! I had my first Espresso martini and if you have never tried one, you definitely need to! My husband enjoyed a locally brewed beer that was poured by Zach with perfection! Happy Hour was so enjoyable with the Oysters on the half shell & Loaded waffle fries. They have such a great assortment of food! Prime Rib melted in your mouth & I like mine medium-well & it was seasoned perfectly! Now that s rare! They had Salmon for my husband & daughter-n-law and Chicken Fried Steak for our son, all plates were beautifully served & all food delicious! We had our little granddaughter with us and she loved the food also, not a single tear or cry! After dinner we walked along the waterfront and there were young families & older people like ourselves enjoying the outside comfy couches, table & chairs & a very nice play area for the children. I never felt out of place, such a wonderful mixture of people, just enjoying time with their friends & family! Thank you for making our 39th Anniversary one to remember and thank you for the complementary glass of champagne! I wanted to try everything, so we definitely have to go back! If you re looking for a place to dine with good food, service with a smile & a great atmosphere, you definitely need to go to The Finch in Grand Prairie Texas ! Dietary restrictions: Menu has everything listed perfectly! Parking: I m handicapped & dropped off in front, but there is plenty of parking, but you may have to walk a little from the garage. Kid-friendliness: The beautiful view of the water display, families walking and small play area made it perfect for children! Wheelchair accessibility: I walk with a cane & the area is open around tables so you re not crowded & have leg room to relax.

We brought our daughter here for her 14th birthday. Table for 7. Reservations made a week in advance. Friends, cousins, and a grandma. When we arrived, they looked at us like we were from outer space. The hostess ran for the manager and he came out to tell us that there were no rooms at the inn. Apparently, they had blocked us for the patio only. So, we sat in a wind tunnel and did the best we could not to blow away. Not the birthday we had hoped for. I would NOT recommend this place. Update: The manager dropped my entrée on the way out of the kitchen. So: hungry, thirsty, and windblown, I sat patiently waiting for my meal while the others in my party started without me. (had to because of the wind) I have one word to describe the management, reservations, and service of this place: UNACCEPTABLE! Overall experience was a D-. The food is mediocre at best, especially by Dallas standards, and not good enough to withstand the pretentious hostesses and manager. The bar service was an F. The patio is an F. The service was a D- as the girl had to constantly apologize for everything. (Pro Tip- this is not a good sign for a restaurant). They arent kid friendly. Not even on your only childs birthday. All they offered me for their lack of hospitality was a free side of fries. As a Dallas resident for over 20 years I can honestly say Ive never been treated so rudely in whats supposed to be a nice place. Goodbye Finch. Or maybe you should rename yourselves Chinchi.

A few minutes later she brought everything at the same time. My french onion soup and shrimp scampi and my husband s wedge salad and salmon entree. And she seemed really confused about why we would not want everything at the same time. She checked in frequently and when done asked if we wanted to have the chef fire the entrees . And they were out in 30 seconds. Note to guests to ask to appropriately time the courses. I m glad we tried The Finch. But won t be coming back.

Dine here at your own risk. The hostess told us that we would need to vacate our table 1:20 pm, our reservation was at 11:30. I don t recall seeing that was a 2 hour reservation limit on their website. I also noticed the hostess did not share that information with any other table or ask any other table to vacate within 2 hours. As a table of black women, asking us to leave within 2 hours but no one else felt racially charged. Our server was lackluster but seemed much more pleasant with the other tables in our area. The meal was good but due to the service I won t be back.

Superb food, flavor, ambiance!!! Highly recommend we went close to closing and had 2 toddlers they enjoyed the kids pasta and fries. The waiter was amazing and listened intently when said toddlers tried to order special non-menu items like rice and pancakes. The best Steak Frites I ve ever had with L Entrecote sauce when I say medium-well this is what I imagine my steak will look like did I already say highly recommend, the sides were fantastic, the naan bread, and the mock tail strawberry lemonade I wish I could order a gallon to-go.

Great Ambiance! Good service. A nice start with brunch on a Saturday morning. Two of the dishes tasted great. We got donuts for starters and ordered 4 entries. Chicken fried wagyu streak, chicken and waffles, short rib hash and French toast with banana brûlée. One person in our party had nut allergies. We asked the server to keep the pecan maple syrup off and explained the allergies - unfortunately our dish arrived with syrup off but pecans all over the French toast. We sent it back. Second time, we got nuts off but pecan syrup all over. By this time, we were done eating. This individual didn t get what the wanted. No adjustments were made to the check (we didn t ask for it) which helps us write a non-biased review. Chicken fried steak was a bit on the chewy side and included sausage/bacon. Not a fan of the latter (personal preference). Overall, good place to eat but will order differently next time. Kitchen should be more mindful of allergies or they will end up causing issues for such patrons.

I am a VERY picky eater and i normally dont ever finish my plate! The food here was SOOOO good i ate it all! I had the Honey Sirachi Salmon, and shared the Meatball and Chicken Lollipop appetizers! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! The scenery was AMAZING as it is situated right by a beautiful man made lake and at night they have a light show! The manager Anthony is a JEWEL to The Finch! In all my visits to many restaurants HE STANDS OUT! He is so personable and truly cares that his customers are not neglected and have everything you need! It was a VERY relaxing, and inviting atmosphere! You HAVE to visit the Finch! As a family or a couple or the girls or the guys day or night out, it wont disappoint! They have music and a nice patio area and an indoor area with a garage door that opens up to the outside patio! Keep doing your thing Anthony! I came in with my sister on this beautiful Friday Feb 23!! We will be back!

A 5 for this neighborhood, perhaps a 4 versus Dallas overall. Could be a 5 with better Valet options, patio looked nice but was right on Mockingbird which is a very busy street and had a TON of evening sun at sunset. Lots of fish on the menu, wagyu wasnt available. Drinks were excellent. Food was very good. Service was very attentive. Clean. I felt excellent that evening and the next day. If you are walking from the train station, take the main walkway through the middle of the center. The walkway along the train tracks/to the east is dirty and has dumpsters. Middle way is very well lit and clean. This place was very empty, tbh we were surprised they were still in business. This would be an excellent place to hold events or dinners. Parking: Parking is off of mockingbird and appeared to be shared with general retail. I didnt notice valet. They should offer valet at least on weekends, if they dont.

A finch is a small, seed eating bird... Nothing about The Finch is small; not the flavors, not the service. We were greeted by Scott with a beaming smile and a certain grace that makes one feel important. Let skip to what youre all here for though...the main event. Everyone ordered the signature Old Fashion after one taste of a cohorts. Dont ask for details, just order one and revel in a job well done. Calamari, potstickers, and brussels followed. Fried, meaty chunks of squid with a creamy aoli got our attention, the potstickers stepped it up a notch, and the brussel sprouts hammered it home. Mains were striped bass (I had to fight for a taste) with risotto, steak frites (I learned from the bass and just took a bite while they looked away) were exactly what youd expect from a talented chef, and I ordered a burger....yeah, a burger at a place that has killer food. If you have children around, put them to bed or make them do that earmuffs thing where they cover their ears while you read this part. The Burger: A soft, pillowy potato bun houses one of the juiciest, high class, powerhouses of beef in the city and its a...say it slowly....DOUBLE PATTY. Topped with their house sauce, its one of those burgers that you dont put down and need a solid napkin due to the juice factor. Cue the Barry White voice. Ohhhh baby... *Alright, let the kids hear again* The finale was bread pudding complete with fruit and warm drizzle. Be ready for a ride at The Finch, complete with fireworks!
