Was there yesterday, I had been there a few times before but wanted to give them another chance..they didn t prove me wrong it was awful. I ordered fried shrimp and when I received my food shrimp was REALLY hard and crunchy so I preceded not to complain. When I started eating I could not believe how salty it was!!! Omg the smell of burnt oil horrendous!!! I do have to admit chips were good..as we left, someone had thrown up next to my vehicle..I m done with this place nasty

From outta town, the 956 so I definitely know good food, and this food is great. Ate seafood of course, the combination plate a good mix at an excellent price. Fish fried to perfection, fries golden brown & crunchy, crab salad tasty as well. The fish tacos were also a 9/10 just missing a hotter salsa, but the grilled planks were moist and flavorful. No refills on soda but not to worry theres plenty to choose from. Do yourself a favor and grab a table.

I was in for a quick trip to Corpus Christi and on my way to town I was looking up seafood restaurants and came upon LA Jaivita #1. So we stopped to eat there being that I prefer to go to the local mom and pop restaurants. Well let me tell you I was not disappointed one bit. La Jaivita #1 (original location) can be found at 3202 Prescott St #4499, Corpus Christi, TX 78415. It is amazing!! The food was so, so good that we dug in and forgot to take pictures. We ordered shrimp ceviche and although it didnt have any type of fresh chile like jalapeño or Serrano diced in, it was really fresh tasting, crisp and light but flavorful. You can tell they know how to make ceviche and have been making it for a very long time. We also ordered a fish filled to try it. We should have ordered a platter because it was fried to perfection and had a buttery feel and/or taste but in a good subtle way. We dont want to imply that it tasted just like butter because you could definitely taste the freshness of the fish fillet. It was really good. We didnt ask what kind of fish; sorry. We also ordered a beef torta. It was so-so. This place specializes in seafood so in our opinion maybe they should totally stick to all seafood. Hope some of you give it a try when in Corpus and in the mood for some great, fresh fish meals.

You asked him for a glass of water and he brought it to you 15 minutes later. The lady at the checkout, one who wears a purple shirt very reluctantly. We arrived and my husband asked for a table for everyone. and the person in charge of the cashier told him to separate. So when we wanted to cash the check they charged us the tip even though the table was separate. tip that they did not deserve in fact. Everyone is lost, the manager doesnt know anything or how to control a place. Dirty bathrooms and the place without a good appearance. Prepare your managers and your waiters more so that they learn to serve people. I have been working in food and beverage for 14 years and from the beginning I noticed everything. They prepare the drinks themselves and that delays service. a place I would never return to and would never recommend. It is better for a client to leave happy than not to recommend you to anyone. pathetic place to eat The worst thing about it is that both the lady at the cashier and the waitress start arguing with us and threaten to call the police. Im from El Paso and love Mariscos. I figured any seafood restaurant would have fresh seafood being so close to the ocean. Let me tell you!! We ordered the Jaivita which comes with fish soup, one ceviche tostada, fried fish, shrimp, oysters (we didnt get the oysters), rice and crab salad. Everything from the first course to last was simply delicious!! Served FRESH and HOT!! Liz was our server and she was delightful. She provided great service and the rest of the staff was very polite and courteous. They take pride in their work and it shows!! This is a must have and will be our go-to spot for seafood when we come visit!! Why are you still reading?? Lol. Go and try it for yourself. You wont be disappointed!!

If youve never been here, Id suggest the #21. You get a little bit of everything! 2 fish, 2 shrimp, 2 oysters, fries, rice, crab salad, ceviche tostada, and a fish soup! Thats a lot of food for the price and youll be glad you ordered it. I loved everything on my plate except the crab salad. It felt like it was missing a little something but everything else was wonderful. Dietary restrictions: Youll easily be able to stick to a pescatarian diet, but vegetarians and vegans will have almost no options.

The good old boat! My wife loves this place because she swears the French bread is a gourmet item. We usually share the fried seafood platter and the fish soup. Both are great provide a good idea of the menu in one sitting (along with shrimp cocktail or ceviche). We have yet to be disappointed with the service they provide. This was my first time eating here. I ordered the fried shrimp plate. I left nothing behind. The food that I ordered was ready quickly. They have a good variety of food choices, both grilled or fried.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!Service is horrible!!!!!!!! Waitresses are disrespectful and the manager is no better!! I ordered a plate of fried fish only to find it severely undercooked! I showed it to our waitress and asked her to take it back and finish cooking it. She took a couple of minutes and brought back a new filet in the exact same way as the one before. Once we told her that it wasn t cooked completely again she went off saying that what did we want her to do that it had been done 2 times already! She was asked to take the plate away that we didn t want it anymore and she walked away from us saying that she didn t know anything and left the plate and us without a resolution! She didn t even send us her manager or anything we had to go ask for her manager to tell her what was going on!! EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! No Customer service!!!!!! Plus to add the atmosphere was bad the restaurant was full of smoke making your eyes tear up and it was extremely cold and music was so loud you couldn t even hear the person next to you!!! Never again will we step foot in this place!!! Save your time and money and don t go to this place they don t care about their customers!
