This has been my go to place for years but never again. I ordered a delivery order through Favor - the driver went to the location and waited 45 minutes for my to go order. She provided me with the actual receipt from the restaurant and The server MADISON opted to give herself a $13.64 tip and tacked it on my order (20%) - this was unauthorized and they adjusted the total in my favor order and charged me. Mind you , this was not the driver tip - this was a server stealing $13 and thinking nobody would notice. I contacted Favor and they made it right - but Madison, this is called stealing. I got a refund from Favor- be very cautious

DON T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Verbally abusive owner and terrible service. We left before our food came due to witnessing an altercation between an employee and the owner right in front of us behind the bar. We instantly left because that behavior from a grown man is not acceptable, especially in front of customers. The owner even chased us out since I didn t pay for the beer I had. I honestly thought he was going to hit me in the parking lot but he just yelled at me instead. Bottom line is don t go here. Weird strip club/massage parlor vibes, something shady is happening there.

This place is definitely regular island community place. First time visiting. Never again. If youre going for a quick drink and appetizer its ok, but dont go hungry. Small disappointing servings for the $$. Outside appearance was very unappealing..Dirty entrance, broken wooden chair, no restaurant sign, stretched out worn water hose, dead plants, etc. Waitresses are given too many tables to serve at once. Couldnt keep up with customers needs. Manager served everyone a glass of champagne, I mean every one who walked in and dined there but never once offered us a glass. It was not that he didnt see us, hes just arrogant and favored certain patrons. Fortunately we wont ever go back. I dont know how this place remains open. Owners obviously dont read these reviews.

The food was good, too bad we were not served til an hour later. When we asked one of the servers why it was taking so long, her response was it s late and she walked away. The service here was far from excellent. we had two very rude and unenthusiastic servers. My table remained in good spirits despite the lack of service. I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to anyone. It s gross to show up to work in slides and socks, which is what one of the servers was wearing.

Food portions are not worth the price here. If you think 6 breaded shrimp & some sorry excuse for french fries is worth $26-then have at it. The service isn t even semi-good. And I m pretty sure there are a bunch of underaged kids working here. Finally, this place doesn t even offer kid friendly options except for some basic butter linguine? Really? I m rating this place at a solid 2 out of 5. Why rate it two stars? Because there s hope for their garlic shrimp. Also, if you can t get a table here because you DON T have a reservation, don t stress about it- there are far better places to eat than here.

Service - We were waiting for a bit and then the manager (?) came by to see if wed been helped. When we informed him that we hadnt been, he said hed send someone over. A few minutes later a woman came by to ask what we wanted to drink. I said water, and before my husband could respond, she was gone. Our waitress showed up as our water showed up. She asked if we wanted an appetizer, and the second she heard what we wanted, she was gone. We were ready to order amd werent given an opportunity to inform her. After our appetizer came, she came to check on how we liked it and we had to tell her we were ready to order before answering the question on how the appetizer was. Very minimal contact from our waitress. Food - The spicy garlic edamame - while good - lacked a depth of flavor. It tasted like red chili oil was poured over garlic and the edamame. We ordered a spicy tuna roll, shaggy dog roll, and the spicy Chrystal roll. While good, the size of the rolls were smaller than all the other rolls weve had elsewhere.

The Island Time Sushi Bar is virtually hidden although it is in plain sight from the main road. Its in an unassuming strip mall setting and their signage blends in with the building facade so you barely notice it. Other businesses here have flashy bright colored signage so it doesnt stand out. Once inside, youll find many people who have obviously discovered it and have become frequent patrons. The menu is large enough to offer a good selection, but not huge. On our April 2024 visit, the Rolls were significantly smaller, which was quite disappointing but they were still delicious. They also serve a variety of grilled items for those who prefer their food cooked. They have a big grill fired up right outside the front door and the aroma of delicious entrées searing to perfection is a great marketing idea.

This place is a hole in the wall dive bar for locals to pick each other up. It is dark, moody, smells of old booze and mold. The tables are so dimly lit, you need to use your phone light to see the menu. DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS!!!! This is a place where people meet, drink, hookup. Not for kids . Also, smoking was allowed at the bar and it permeated the entire restaurant. If you need a place to meet someone from Tinder, this place is good. If you want a nice place to share a meal with your family, keep looking.

I wanted to take my family to a nice sushi place on the island. And well this was NOT it. This looked like more of a hole in the wall bar that served sushi. When we got there we stood there for a good min before being seated. It was not welcoming, I guess unless you are a local local to the island or white. We got there at 730pm granted it was busy at the time but as time went on no more new customers had came in and we didnt get the last of our food till 9pm because midway they had ran out of rice. Our waitress had 3 tables ours being one of them and barely came by and when she did I asked for everything I needed because I knew she wouldnt come back around for a good while. We got the first of our order but still half of our order close to 830 then 30 mins later the rest which were 2 small $17 and $18 rolls. I understood it was busy at 730 but come 915pm it was almost empty at the sushi bar and the tables and the waitress gave us our ticket and walked away and didnt come back for another 15 mins to take payment. We left hungry after paying close to $100 for a few rolls 4 different types and teas for my family. Thankfully sonic was open just down the street. But this was the worst sushi establishment and restaurant Ive been too. I should of went to Rock n Roll sushi but I read the reviews and looked at pictures and figured it would be good. Wow. Never again. I didnt want to leave a bad review but this dinning experience festered in my head days later and money was definitely not an issue w our family but I felt ripped off w the service and food for the price. We should of at least left like we ate not nibbled on $100 appetizers. If I had to give a good review on a single item it would be the squid salad was delicious. But if your Mexican,brown, or ethnic in anyway shape Or form beware because I did felt discriminated which my feelings were confirmed when I read other of my fellow Latinos reviews about this place. And everyone was drunk come 9pm a whole party of 4 older ppl stumbled out to their vehicles. Which I was disgusted by because the older gentleman who was intoxicated before his dessert got creme brulee and then he asked the waitress (who tended more to their table -of course table full of white folks) if she can pour a bit of the rum they used to make the brulee over his creme brulee and she did of pure liquor. Hello these customers drive home. Everything about this establishment raises red flags.

This was a good sushi, I think they should be making the sushi at the bar in front of you when you sit at the sushi bar. Otherwise it was nice selection, flexible with the sushi rolls. I think everyone should get their own wasabi and ginger not just one small normal bit for the 5 people we had at the bar. We asked for another. Owner seemed super nice and came out to talk with us at the bar and ask how everything was tasting. The ladies received champagne as we told him we just came from the winery next door. The winery customers told us the steak was good as well here.

You can totally skip this joint on your next trip to the island. The service was slow, although our waitress Eliza was very sweet (and not to blame since she was also the bartender and later tasked with grilling oysters outdoors). The beef potstickers were very salty and not very good. (Also, beef mince potstickers in a sushi bar?) The Ecstasy Roll (soft shell crab) and Spicy Crystal (tuna) and Cali rolls were just meh. Disappointing seafood for a spot on a fishing island. Even the cali roll was drenched in eel sauce. The entire lounge area was dark, warm and smelled of garlic and onion. The manager or owner gentleman walked around at least five times and greeted every other table multiple times except ours, asking how everyone was. Was it because I m a tall, brown man covered in tattoos and had my arm around my husband? He wouldn t look us in the eye. Didn t say a word to us or acknowledge us. Meanwhile, he was the life of the party at every other table of straight, white people. It was clear we were unwelcome, so we left hungry instead of ordering more sushi like we wanted and ended up at Island Market buying some food to eat at the condo. Terrible start to our anniversary weekend. Save yourself the trouble and skip this place. (Sorry, Eliza.)

Like many of the island restaurants, it has a bar feel and the menus and tables needed wiping down, but they do have several vegetarian options and were willing to accommodate substitutions. I absolutely wanted to love this place so much I love so many local places because I am a Corpus Christi and flour bluff resident. But we went here and we were instantly delayed in service. We actually waited for eight open bar seat, which we re grateful that we got when we got the other open bars it took 10 minutes to service our first drink with not our server. Our server eventually greeted us. I confirmed her drinks that we already had and hen meter sushi rolls. The sushi was delicious. Romeo has done a great job with this place! The Nobu style hamachi is incredible. Ive read some reviews on here that were upset with wait times. We did not have to wait long at all, but I would tell anyone staying on the island to adjust expectations, no matter what business they are stepping into. Running a business on the island is tough. Its hard to find good people and restaurants often get slammed with traffic at peak hours. Try to be patient, no matter where you go.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Recommended to eat from a family friend. Came here with a party of 4, reservations for 6:30. Seated fast, but the all the waitresses there gave my friends and I ugly looks. Food took FOREVER. we waited almost an hour and an half for our food while other people who had arrived after us got their food before us. Our waitress didn t even tend to us as needed. Other waitresses were assisting us. I guess people who she knew were sitting at the bar and you could tell she was taking care of them all well and everything dismissing our needs. When asked how much longer for the food the waitress said there was only one cook in the back (but i don t get how the people after us got their food before us.) After waiting an eternity for our food the food came and the portions were SO SMALLL!! $20+ for a plate for it to be from the kids menu. It was also cold. The only good thing we re the tuna nachos. Not worth the wait at all. -2/10 I do not recommend this place. My first and last time here.

Where do i start, i asked to be seated at a table and we were at in the lounge because we had never been there, the lounge was an extremely strange setting for a restaurant. the sushi tasted old, the service was extremely slow, friendly, but slow. there was a drip coming from the ceiling dripping onto ourselves and our plates . the lighting was low and dingy. we tried to cancel our order due to slow service and they brought us our subpar food instead. the manager ignored us until we visibly looked upset and weren t eating the food. although they were extremely understanding, it was still one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life

This restaurant is the most uniquely Strange sushi restaurant I have ever been in. We asked to be seated at a table and they sat us in the lounge instead because we had never been before. This was a recommended restaurant by our hotel. Being sushi lovers, we couldn t wait to check it out. Instead, we came away extremely disappointed. We arrived shortly after opening. Some tables were already seated. Despite a couple of girls working at the front door, we were left standing and wondering if we d be greeted and seated. We eventually grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and watched other customers be seated with no issues. Some time passed before we were offered menus and glasses of water. We ordered 4 sushi rolls - Salmon Lover / Ecstasy / Crystal / Rattlesnake rolls, specifically asking to exclude jalapeños in the Rattlesnake roll. Others rolls were either not spicy or detailed as having only spicy mayo. At this point we were told rice wasn t cooked yet and it ll be a longer wait for sushi rolls - astonishing for a sushi restaurant at opening time. We ordered an appetizer that didn t have rice to wait out the rice prep. The appetizer, however, was served only shortly before the rest of the food. It sat behind the sushi bar waiting on the waitress to bring it over. The Crystal roll was doused in red pepper flakes which was not part of the menu description. Jalapeños were included inside and on top of the Rattlesnake roll. The spiciness made each of the rolls unbearable to enjoy. The waitress did not come back to check on us even once, which left us with empty water glasses and not able to wash down the spiciness of the rolls, or to send them back. Ginger wasn t included with the served plates either and had to be asked about from another server running by. Before bringing us the check, the waitress was reminded of the jalapeño issue. She just shrugged it off. All in all, just 2 rolls were tasty, atmosphere wasn t good and dinner for two with no drinks cost $100. Not coming back here, and cannot recommend it to others.

Waited over 2 hours for subpar food. The salmon tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill and without flavor. The Mac n Cheese was dried out. The manager didn t take ownership of the slowness of the service. This was even after she made a comment earlier in the night getting on the kitchen staff for being slow. She argued back with me and refused to take ownership of the situation. She said I came to a restaurant called Island Time . I should expect the 2 hour wait for food. At one time the waitress told us our food would be out in 10mins, but it didn t come until 30mins later. One person in our party even had to cancel their order since it was taking too long and could not eat after a certain time. The place also appears very unclean and I saw a staff member handle seafood with his bare hands and then handle other items afterward. Poor service and poor food. Do NOT come here.

The owner and staff are unbelievably friendly. The food is phenomenal you can tell the owner and chefs enjoy cooking it s a labor of love and not just a job. I ve had most of the menu and lots of menu items everything is delicious. My favorites are sea bass, ribeye and shaggy dog roll. Parking: There is plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: We have taken kids there a lot. They always tweak menu items to fit them and the casual friendly atmosphere makes it very welcoming to kids. Went for the first time tonight. Ordered the steak on a salt block, delicious. At first I thought the steak was under cooked (rare), but the salt block is sizzling hot, so you can cook the steak to whatever temp you want. This was also the first restaurant on the island where I actually saw the manager walking around checking on customers, talking to the staff, etc. Will be back again and recommend to everyone. The food was amazing as well as the owner and staff except for our server Kaitlyn R.. My grandmother had recommended this place for our dinner because she loved the Lobster roll. Apparently this used to be a special and was an off menu item. When we asked Kaitlyn about the Lobster roll she informed us that they do not have such a thing and do not carry any lobster. My grandmother asked if she would check with the chef to make sure of it and Kaitlyn copped an attitude and said I work here everyday we do not have lobster . I insisted after that for her to just ask the owner to make sure. She yelled from our table to across the bar where he was standing and said we don t have lobster , right? And he said actually we do and I can accommodate that. She was rude the rest of the dining experience because she probably embarrassed on being wrong. My grandmother asked for more dressing my for her salad and that took 16 minutes for her to get. When trying to make small talk while she was making the bananas Foster she was short and seemed irritated. My grandmother is dying of cancer and the last thing she needs is someone being rude to her for no reason. The owner was great and attentive! My grandmother and her friends said after that experience they would not be returning because of how egotistical she was. I recommend we just order take out from now on since we love the food and the owners wife s desserts. I was in the service industry for 10+ years and can t wrap my head around why she couldn t just go ask and made it a big deal since she works off tips and then was awful the rest of Our dining experience. I would 100% return to this restaurant if she wasn t my server.

This is the very best restaurant on any south Texas beach. Our favorite dish is the ring of fire roll. Tara s sashimi is a close second. No matter what you order, you won t go wrong. Our food took over an hour to come out and the waitstaff was incredibly rude when we asked for updates. The food tasted okay, but nothing to write home about. Less than twelve hours after eating here, my wife and I were both hunched over the toilet vomiting our guts out. Haven t been that sick in ten years. Thanks Island Time, keep up the great work.

If I could give this restaurant ZERO stars, I would. Waited far too long to even get a drink. The manager was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The food was decent when some of it finally came out. BUT, Our appetizer never came out. The two entrees came out 20+ minutes apart and they me of them was overcharged by $18. I would rather eat raw mullet than ever go back to this shoddy, unreliable establishment.

Went to this establishment for my brother in laws birthday dinner. We had a party of 6 and upon arrival we were rudely ignored until we asked the hostess if she could seat us. She sits our large party on a small table near the bathroom which is absolutely rude and disgusting. It takes about 12-15 minutes until our drink orders are taken and another 10 before they re served. All the while we have the absolute most rude server I have ever encountered. We order our appetizers which came out with a taste and texture like they were microwaved and after we order our overpriced food it takes about an hour and ten minutes until our entrees arrive. My steak was unacceptably disgusting for the price of almost 50 dollars. Needless to say, the experience was awful. I and hopefully plenty of others should and will be taking our business elsewhere.

We were on vacation and asked the locals where do you get a great steak. They said Island Time and it didnt disappoint. One if not the best steaks Ive ever ordered. Cooked just like I asked. Always enjoyed the food at this place until last night when I had dinner there with my girlfriend. The boys rolling sushi behind bar were wearing the same gloves while touching everything else. One boy with his gloves on put his hair behind his ear, grabbed a dirty rag, and continued to roll sushi (all while with the same gloves). The service was extremely terrible from the moment I walked in. I called a week ahead, and made a reservation for 2 at the lounge. The hostess when I checked in tells me we have you at the bar . I corrected and told her what my reservation was made for, and she rudely sat me next to the bathroom with chairs so high and the coffee table so low and out of place. I asked to just sit at the bar, and her response was you can just go sit wherever . It took at least 20-25 min to get a drink, another 25-30 min just to put in an order for appetizers, and almost 45 min to receive our food. Aside from the terrible service, do not eat there. Staff needs to be instructed on universal precautions when handling food. Wearing the same gloves the entire night you are committing cross contamination and putting people s health at very high risk. Customer service needs some serious adjustment. Millennials

I give it 3 stars. I think, mostly because our service sucked. We had to repeatedly ask to get even a knife, fork or napkin. I had asked for a water without ice. It never came and when I asked again I got a cup full of ice with little water on it. The waitress had no clue about the items on the menu and replied, well I just work here!? Em, doesnt that include knowing your menu? We had to asked her to please go and find out for us. The food though was pretty yummy. We loved the grilled Oysters and the brussel sprouts were really yummy too. Unfortunately my Sushi dish came way before everybody else got their meal. The hand rolls were small being a main dish for 17 dollars. I am used to big filled handrolls between 6-8 dollars a piece. These rolls were small and a bit to much squeezed what takes the crispness out of the seaweed on the outside. But the inside crispy salmon skin made up for it and the tuna was really fresh. Overall a great roll and an advanced preparation and presentation could make this a 5 star dish. Thank you

We sat for two hours waiting on a medium rare steak that cost $48 and a sushi roll. Also I am an Eagle Scout and a commercial pilot. The waitress was pleasant but not helpful getting out food order out. We had enough of the waiting game so we asked for our food to go and made it known we weren t super pleased. Never got our steak and they gave me the sushi and told me never to come back again. This is the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant I have ever been too and I live a block away. Im telling everyone I know that this place is junk. If I ever would talk to a woman the way the manager talked to my girlfriend, my mother and grandmother god rest her soul would hang me and haunt me. We went there from a recommendation from one of our waiters at our favorite restaurants, Fin s tonight was one of the worst displays of hospitality on North Padre Island I ve ever encountered. As soon as we walked in two very young timid girls are standing there unsure of themselves or where to seat us. I appreciate the opportunity for young people but training them properly would help their confidence. We were sat in front of a filthy glass cooler where the sushi was kept. It was not cooling the food at all. Our food came out room temperature and I have bought better sushi from Kroger. Sorry mr man, owner dude who just got back from his ranch house working in the heat, but your resteraunt needs to be way more clean and presentable. I honestly felt like I walked in a dingy bar. The ONLY reason we stayed was because it was close to where my daughter had to meet back up with her team and she was hungry and in a hurry. Very disappointing. However the staff was ALL working diligently and were very kind.

Beware! The food here is fantastic! It was not difficult to want to eat more because the food was just so good. This is not a restaurant to save money at, but it is well worth the visit. To be honest if I had known how good it was, I would have sprung for the house special waygu dish or the lone steak on the menu. If you are visiting Padre Island dont hesitate, stop here and eat.

Island time is absolutely one of our favorites! Romeo and Debbie and their team knock it out of the park consistently. This is the third or fourth time we have use them to host a large group and everything is set up perfectly, ready on time and plated beautifully! The salt block steak and scallops are phenom and the ninja noodle too! Sushi is super fresh all the time! This is honest review & I hope it helps to improve this place. So first off I called to see if they were open as their fb says temporarily close . I also asked if you needed to make reservation which I was told no it was first come first serve. My mother wanted to go here as her late Mother s Day dinner so we did. We arrived at 7 pm. Hostess, who seemed lost, asked if we had a reservation. Which I then told her we called & were told we didn t need one. Stayed which our Wait at first was 45 min then was told it would be another 45 min. Luckily a guy assisted & sat us. Orders drinks & appetizer, then food. We waited 2 HOURS for our food. Asked our waitress to check on it which she said she told us she saw it coming up but waited another 20 min to then have some other girl assist named Katie. Katie checked on it which we appreciated however, my mother saw her kissing someone at the bar & when she came over to our table she seemed drunk or on something as she was slurring her words. After over 2 hours our food came out. 2 entrees that cost 20-25 bucks were cold. I have to say this was the WORST experience I ve ever had at a restaurant. With all the bad signs we should have left & gone to rock n roll sushi instead. Island time sushi needs to train their hostesses & servers how To be more prepared & classy as I don t find it ok to see a server make out at a bar. I will never try this place again. Left at 10 pm to end up having to settle for fast food. Worst experience ever.

I ll first say that the food isn t bad here from what we tried, it s decent. Some of the sushi is inconsistent to what you would see elsewhere. The lobster stuffed chicken was good, but only included two spears of asparagus and about a 1/3 cup of rice. The portions are small and extremely overpriced. The decor is more fitting to night club and it s dark in there like a night club. The bathrooms are also fitting to a night club. The service was slow. The meals for us came as much as 15 minutes apart, leaving one person to watch the other completely finish their meal before their meal even arrives. The soda is flat and nearly flavorless. They also don t have straws and when they handed my 6 year old her tea, it came in a tall beer glass, that s a first. So to tell you how overpriced this place is, here is what $100+ gets you: a cup of edamame, cup of miso soup, 2 flat diet Coke s, 1 unsweetened tea, a chicken breast stuffed with 1 oz of lobster on two spears of asparagus, a eel hand roll, spider roll and salmon avocado roll and a small bowl of Mac and cheese. About $55 worth of food elsewhere.

They prioritize, by race. It was 4 of us we are interracial couples. There was plenty of room at the bar but they told us we could not sit there because it was dirty so we stood and waited to get seated. Then another couple came in with no reservation, they cleaned the area and sat them right away. It all happened right in front of us. We decided to walk away.
