Rustic and nautical furnishings, exactly how I imagine a restaurant on the water would be. We ate very good fish & chips and drank freshly tapped beer. Both very good and freshly prepared. The service, Daisy, was very friendly and accommodating and asked several times during our stay whether everything was okay or if there was anything else we would like. After dinner we ordered a drink outside on the terrace and enjoyed the evening atmosphere and the cool live band. Three older gentlemen who played really cool music and sang well. Vegetarian options: Not consumed Parking: Certainly a good 20 parking spaces if there are no more. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to the terrace and a wheelchair-accessible entrance to the restaurant. I dont think its possible to visit the bar upstairs.

Entire restaurant smelled musty, sticky floors, leaking a/c vents, ceiling COVERED in mold, draft beer was flat and tasted watered down. The nasty beer was enough to deter us from ordering food and after looking at other reviews I m glad we didn t. Waitress was so sweet but everything else was not good perfect place to be featured on bar rescue .

Horrible. It was a very bad experience. Our waitress was very pleasant. Other than that it was horrible. The french fries were still White. The onion rings were still White. The fried shrimp were just Frozen fried shrimp. They were rather gross, like IHOP shrimp .They were not fresh or hand breaded. We waited a long time because they said they dropped our food and had to remake it. Frozen margarita was horrible. Dont understand how you mess up a frozen margarita, but they did. Before we came and we tried to call and ask the hours but no one would answer the phone. As we were waiting on our food another group of people came in and were turned away at 10 pm even though the internet says theyre open until 2am. The group said they had tried to call and no one would answer the phone, as well. This place is bad news. Dont waste your time or money. Honestly ,I would make a sandwich at home ,before coming here again.

My husband and I went here for lunch on labour day weekend. The place was very busy with a live band out front. The lunch specials are great value. We had the fish tacos and fried fish. Both were very hot, fresh and perfectly cooked.

The food was great. I had the shrimp tacos and I was not disappointed. The food was definitely fresh all around. The cucumber salad was delicious, the corn definitely is a nice touch. The flour tortillas were just the right thickness and I m willing to guess they were made in-house. If that s not the case, I d like to know what brand you are using. Definitely coming back whenever Im in the area.

First the good bartender did a great job on her first night (?) and it was super nice of the local guy to offer to help get our elderly mom onto the deck (couldn t get her up to restaurant with her walker.) I would imagine that this was a great spot 20 years ago. Pretty sure the food made us ill (would suggest the health department takes a good look.) They had local music which I generally love supporting but this particular guy was pretty rough. Took him 20 minutes to tune his guitar (still not in tune btw) and it was way too loud turned a beautiful evening into a hilarious comedy and we eventually had to leave. This was a miss for us but it is a nice outdoor bar and a great spot to have a beer (don t recommend eating.)

Omg I ordered the shrimp basket. I know have food poisoning! I ll spare the details but I m siting on the toilet right now. Also please fix the AC, as soon as we walked in we could smell the musty stank. Tables were sticky. Not sure what happed over the last two years but it s gone down. This place is a cool spot for your happy hour or drinks on the dock. The inside is lacking some updates and a refresh, it would help the quality of air and atmosphere of the inside and probably add a bigger crowd as the location is pretty cool. We had decent service and the draft beer was not as fresh as Id prefer. Our food all came out in decent time but was basic yet good. I dont have much more to say as with the name and location I was expecting a little more than what it was.

We went in and sat at the bar. The bartender did not offer any menus. I asked for a drink and was told they just ran out . So I told him I d like a Diet Coke. He didn t offer to take my husband s order. I got up and got us two menus. Two other folks came in and sat at the bar and were immediately greeted with glasses of water and their drinks were promptly prepared. I flagged down the waiter and told him my husband was ready to order a beer. When he told the bartender what he would like, he was told they just ran out . We paid for our Diet Coke and left. When we first got there, sometime aeound 2pm, there werent any cars but there was plenty of parking. The atmosphere was cool. On a lake. Boat related decor. I ordered the country fried steak. The breading fell off the meat. Never had that happen before. My brothers friend ordered the same thing but they sent it out to someone else, so while we were eating, she had to wait 15 minutes or so before she got her food. They did give us a 20% discount off her meal for that error. The waitress was new so she barely came by to see if we needed anything. Plus, they charged us the price thats on the menu online (which was more) and not the price on the menu they gave us.

This place has lots of mixed reviews, and I m not sure why. We had a large group of about 20 people. Among that, 9 kids. We brought our fish for them to cook, and It was excellent! They had a live band and they sang a few songs for the kids and really played something for the entire group. Our waitress even had some pop It fireworks in her car, and brought them out for the kids. Service was excellent! The bartender and the wait staff were quick and efficient! Very family friendly! Would definitely recommend and return!

This place is AWESOME! I can t wait to come back on my next trip down to Padre Island. Happy hour was unforgettable, the house margaritas were delicious and large for only $5!! The appetizers were so yummy as well as the entrees. We also got to play bingo and the whole family had a blast, the atmosphere was superb. I would recommend to all my family and friends!

I was disappointed in this place. Got there around 8 pm and was hoping it was going to be good. We were told to be seated, which is fine because were used to that, and noticed a weird smell with no AC. Took a while to get our drinks. At this point, were like 20 minutes in, so were getting a little irritated. Heres the real kicker. While we were waiting for our drinks to come, two other tables of six came in and ordered appetizers and food. These two tables got their appetizers, drinks, and plates before we even got our food. Took them an hour for our food to come in, and at that point, we were done and didnt really enjoy our food. Ended up paying about $70 for average tasting food. We left at around 10 pm. If youre short staffed, then change your hours and organize the crew better.

Came at 5:53 right before hh ended at 6. Ordered our drinks, something was wrong with their draft beers so they werent pouring properly. Waited 20 mins and then ordered a bottled beer since we were sick of waiting. There is an outdoor bar that could have poured the same beer? Place smells of a dirty litter box. Im shocked my shoes didnt stick to the floor. No AC relief. Judging by the other reviews, will not be ordering food. Our waitress was sweet and apologetic but service is very slow. Wanted to grab a bite after a long day. Was getting late, majority of the restaurants were closing. We don t want fast food and this was 1 min away from outlet air bnb.This places has a distinctive odor of a wet mop all most unbearable to eat inside. Food came out , everything was cold, waitress was nice but there was no communication on 86 items. I asked for gravy for my mash potatoes, food was brought out. No gravy, I informed server that it was okay, she suggested another item and went back said they were out of that too. She then brought a plate out and asked me to scrape my mash off my plate, and brought me the only thing that came out fresh. Fries! Needless to say we will not be returning by choice. I have always been a big fan of the boathouse so I wanted my family to join us while we were on vacation. We got there second shift had not shown up so the server got us our drinks and menus while we waited. We placed our orders for food and happy hour & the food came out and it was good as always. The staff left much to be desired. The entire time I felt like we were bothering them to get additional drinks or silverware. I am sad it wasn t a good experience. we had 11 people on our party but we tried very hard not tobe demanding. I think next time we will skip the boat house due to this experience and start looking for a new place to enjoy a pricey meal. We had 11 in our party with six of us drinking ONE adult beverage each. We ate happy hour foods plus a few meals. the tab was almost 4 bills including gratuity. She didn t deserve the gratuity based on the service provided. The sign says under new management so I would have thought it would have been closer to stellar. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot and the bathrooms were sketchy.

Downstairs part of restaurant had no a/c so we were told to go upstairs. The waitress upstairs had a piss poor attitude and didn t really want to help us. We were told we could sit on the deck. The only good thing about this place was the music outside. We went yesterday,friday. It is very confusing where to go in at. We got inside and waited a short time to be seated. We stumbled upon the Boathouse during an overnight stay in Corpus. We are so glad we didnt judge it but its appearance. The bartender was amazing! We were very pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. I got the coconut shrimp plate and it was delicious. The bartender explained they are about to remodel. We are going back in two weeks and will definitely go back. Highly recommend giving it a shot!

Disclaimer: I hate leaving not-nice reviews, but I do need to be honest about our experience. We chose to eat here because it was down the street from our hotel, so points for location. Here are some additional elements to consider: 1) The entrance is confusing because from afar, it looks like you need to head upstairs, but only up close can you see a ground floor entrance underneath the staircase. It would be helpful to have signage to guide new customers. 2) The first thing I noticed once inside was the smell. I couldnt tell what it was, but it wasnt pleasant. Then we saw the Please wait to be seated sign, and so we waited until a server passed by and told us to seat ourselves. Hmm... ok. We chose a table by the window and noticed quite a few tables were dirty from previous customers. *A table next to us was dirty, dishes and all, the entire time we were there. 3) We went on a Saturday around 4 pm and were surprised to find it was pretty empty inside, so we thought we would receive better service. Maybe they were understaffed, which I understand and sympathize with, but they also werent swamped with customers. In fact, another group near us only ordered drinks and left because service took too long. 4) Our food was okay for the most part. The plates/baskets were full, and the food was hot. However, I was not impressed by the flavor, especially considering the price. I am willing to spend $$ on food, but the food quality didnt match the price like similar restaurants in the surrounding area. 5) Be careful and look over your check before paying. We were surprised to see an automatic gratuity included on our single check despite being a table of 4 during non-peak hours. I usually see that for groups of 6+ or at specialty dining. They also added a non-cash adjustment charge without asking us how we were paying, which was, of course... cash. Maybe Im in the minority or in the wrong, but automatically adding charges doesnt sit right with me. We paid what we owed (including the automatic tip and nca) in cash and left. Because of the slow and disappointing experience, we didnt bother to dispute some of the charges. Bottom Line: Maybe we went on an off-day. I dont want to discourage anyone from trying this location if it looks good to you or if others you personally know have had amazing experiences. Just be mindful of some elements that surprised us and affected our overall impression.

We went here thinking that it had improved since it is under new management, unfortunately that was not the case! I actually think it is worse. We waited over an hour for our food and while waiting we did not receive very good service. When we received our appetizers they were over cooked and greasy. We are visiting from out of town. We decided to try Boathouse because it was within walking distance of the hotel. We went in the restaurant first and walked around for several minutes with no one greeting us. It was uncomfortably hot because the AC wasn t working well which is not ideal with how hot it is outside. Before leaving we decided to check out the bar upstairs. AC was working a little better and we were greeted right away. We both got fried fish tacos which were just ok. The tortillas were hard and tough. Could not get beer on tap because the tap was messed up . Overall not a great experience.

Shrimp PO boy with 4 pieces of shrimp for $17 is just bizzare. $18 for the sampler platter with some undercooked/non battered fried pickles, cheese sticks, 3 jalapeños and about 5 calamari is just wild. Had to send my $16 cheeseburger back because it was raw in the middle. The only thing that was halfway decent was the boxed Velveeta Mac and cheese that I couldve made at home for $2. $78 later for lunch and I definitely do not recommend this place!

The food took almost an hour to come out and, unfortunately, was not worth the wait. My daughter ordered fish and chips, but the fish was gummy. I ordered fish tacos, and they tasted like rubber. My wife and I stopped by for dinner after a day at the beach. The calamari was delicious. For the main course, I had the red fish plate, and my wife had the red snapper plate. $24 and $26, respectively. We were expecting the entire fish, and we received a single filet of the fish. Though it was cooked good, for those prices, I want both the filets. The sides were more than the main course. I had fries, and half were overcooked. The cucumber salad was missing a few ingredients, and the garlic mashed potatoes were missing garlic. Need less to say I will not be back. Good atmosphere, though, but we did come on a Sunday evening

This place was horrible. The menu states they are famous for their fried fish tacos. What is famous about a piece of fried fish thrown in a hard corn tortilla, with literally NOTHING else?? When we questioned it and asked where the seasoned gabbage that was supposed to come on the tacos was, the waitress brought us cole slaw. Go anywhere else. Local here; had a rough experience with the family. Things to order: jalapeño poppers, blackened red snapper, and jumbo wings. Service was slow. It took almost an hour for an appetizer and another hour for the food. To recap, we ordered sliders, two wings, some fries, and fish. (Poppers too) Fish was cold, fries were old AND cold, the sliders had pickles on them when we asked for no pickles. Normally that wouldnt be a huge issue, but they sat under a heat lamp so the pickle essentially burned into the cheese. The house salad we ordered tasted old and most pieces were dark green and limpy. Inside the building was 10 degree hotter than outside which says a lot when they have ac. The wait time is understandable when you have a family during the tail end of happy hour, we just wished our server communicated with us. The server with pink hair is lovely, but she would walk away when we were ordering, or we wouldnt see her for an extended period of time. The soda machine was out and the wings we ordered had an Asian sauce instead of garlic. When we notified the server of the issues she apologized but nothing was adjusted or fixed. I hear this place has mixed reviews. Im sure the next time I come back itll be better. Two stars because the poppers and wings were the best.

I went with my wife for a date night without the kids. Drinks and appetizers were great and the view of the sunset over the water was top notch. The server took a loooong time to deliver the food and it came to the table lukewarm. I got the chicken tacos and they were the tiniest $15 plate of tacos Ive ever seen. The quality was straight out of the cafeteria at elementary school and I think gas station tacos were more flavorful, I was extremely disappointed. If you come here, come for the bar and apps. Do yourself a favor and skip the entrée in favor for someplace else.

I feel like this place has so much potential? I ve seen it many times looks cool with lighthouse - we decided to try it the other day - the whole experience was just extremely mediocre and pricey for the quality- huge banner under new management? We hesitated cause you know what means usually- went in only one person working the hostess waitress bar tender ? She was sweet - right away she s like don t order anything on corn they fall apart - ordered the fish and chips and the mahi mahi tacos - two salads - Salads never came - the vegetables on the plate looked like they seen better days -the flour tortillas were not much better than the corn I m imagining-we reached for the hot sauce? I don t know what color that was but umm no thank you ? Fish was good on both plates they could do so much more with it ? - Had to remind about salads halfway through meal - probably should not have bothered it just as disappointing as the vegetables on the plate- the price so not worth the product they put out - so probably will never go back but I feel like it could be a pretty cool place if they change the menu up and def clean the restrooms more

I tried to take my mom who had joined me on my trip down for Barefoot Mardi Gras, and we went inside to ask if it was okay to sit at their outdoor patio with our dogs. I had the red snapper and it was severely dry. My draft beer had an old taste to it. Even though it originally had 3.5 stars on Google reviews we decided to give it a chance because it was under new management. Service was slow, drinks are overpriced and Im almost certain the kitchen should not be in business. Bartender brags about her clean hands, however uses the same wet towel to wipe her hands and clean the counter. I ordered fries and waited 15 minutes before seeing a kitchen staff (which I m told is the kitchen manager) walk out the kitchen coughing without covering his mouth, just to walk back into the kitchen while continuing his very audible cough. I eventually cancelled my food order after waiting 25 minutes. Needless to say I will not be return to this establishment and would recommend to choose somewhere else to get a drink of you have the chance.

Definitely go! The atmosphere would have been MUCH better, but... I went on Christmas in the evening. There was only a family there with 2 or 3 young kids. The kids were not watched very well and clearly the parents didnt seem to mind them running around. The youngest or next to youngest, was acting up screaming and the parents did not really do anything about it. The bartender was slow and he did say the usual girl was off that night. I guess because it was so dead, they didnt care about the ambiance or lighting. The lights were all on really bright, there was no football game on at all!!! The food was great! Im sure the atmosphere and service are normally much better!

We stopped by on Saturday around 4-5ish. I gave three stars because one of the younger ladies was super nice and gave my dog some water without me having to ask anyone. Thank you. The place was kind of confusing because there is an upstairs door and a downstairs door. We went into the downstairs where the bar is and no one was there. An older lady eventually came out and said we could sit anywhere. We asked if we could sit outside with our dog, and she said yes. We mostly stopped at the boathouse because we had our dog with us, and we were allowed to sit on the deck with him. Also, we wanted seafood. The people were nice, but the service lacked quality. We were about to leave because the server was gone for a long time, but she came back just before we were going to go. She took our order and correctly wrote it down, but it came out to us all wrong. We didn t complain because we were hungry and didn t want to wait a long time again. She also gave my order to my wife and vice versa. Order Placed: Red snapper with mashed potatoes and veggies and a Sierra Mist Fish and Chips with mashed potatoes and a Dr Pepper Served: Red snapper with mashed potatoes and fries and a Sierra Mist Fish and chips with veggies and an unsweetened tea The food tasted good though. We liked the fish and chips and the Blackened Red snapper. However, the veggies weren t good. They tasted like frozen, rubbery veggies. Overall, the fish tasted good. The view was nice. The service was terrible. The wait time was too long and the order was wrong. The price came to about $58 for both of us, which was a little pricey for everything.

Off the beaten path was this quiet little bar. At least it was when we stopped in at 2:30 p.m. on a weekday just in time for the start of happy hour! They have these huge chicken poppers, handmade and perfectly cooked, crunchy, and gooey cheesy! The onion rings are thickly battered, so very crispy and delish. At one point, we were the only ones there (if you dont count the blackbirds who wanted nibbles) and really enjoyed the shady deck with water view. The waitress was very friendly and great, and gave us discounts on everything! I hope to come back sometime for the live music and fun!

Nice location, but the food was mideocre, and the table was sticky. They just had the extra business from the solar eclipse and were out of the item I wanted. My daughter said the shrimp tasted bland and just salty. I agreed that they didnt taste quite right. They had a football game on, but it was unwatchable as it kept cutting out. They should have just turned it off. Its probably our least favorite restaurant of our 6-day visit in the area. They will probably be better in a few days when the product is restocked and they have time to wipe down the tables better. It was not busy when we went.

Go eat elsewhere. Positive first - our appetizer arrived quickly. Now, why a rare 1 star review? This is a non-functional restaurant, both under and incompetently staffed. We waited an obscene amount of time for our food. At the point I was going to offer to merely pay for our appetizer then leave, we were regaled by obscenities loudly emanating from the kitchen. A young African American fellow stormed out, made a few runs between the kitchen and the outdoors, then clocked out. Of note, there were several ladies and young children that were serenaded with f-bombs. Quite the classy experience. Our first order delivery attempt was for another table - an elderly couple had walked out. When our order finally arrived, my wifes burger was missing components, my cheesesteak was cold, and our onion rings too. To make matters worse, my wife ordered a veggie burger and got a regular beef one. Whilst all of this transpired, we overheard a table complaining about well over an hour wait for their food. All in all a horrible dining experience that led me to both whip out the AMEX & zero tip. Post-meal indigestion has given me no reason to regret that decision. We will not return and recommend avoiding this place.

I went in for lunch today and was not impressed. Once I walked in, it took about 5 min before I was even acknowledged and seated at a table. The couple behind me got tired of waiting and walked out. After being seated, The server took my drink order and I ordered chips and queso as well. Once she brought my drinks, its like she went on break. Update: We went back to this place because we loved it the last time. We were waiting to be seated, because that is what the sign says, and the waitress just passed by us and ignored us as did two other employees, not even a greeting or any acknowledgment. The restaurant was nearly empty. We stood there for a couple more minutes and still not even a glance by any of the three employees that were chatting at the bar. Even my kids were saying that we were invisible. Nobody acknowledged us in any way.
