Playground: Nice playground for 2-12 year old children. Spongy, foam flooring is great for those who take many tumbles or zip past the slides. The newer swings are nice as well. I also appreciate the blocked entrance near the playground.

There are a few neat spots around this park as far as hiking and walking go. The hawk observation deck gives a great view of the area. There is a small observation deck that looks out over the pond. A bit further down, there is a boardwalk near the river that has some gorgeous trees covered in spanish moss. There isnt much in the way of actual trails though. Youre mostly just walking on the road. Lots of water around, so be sure to bring bug spray. The mosquitoes are fierce. And watch out for fire ants too. While we were reading the sign for the Boy Scout trail, our feet got covered in them!

Javelina, ducks, hawks, shorebirds, deer the park was full of activity today! They are adding plenty of amenities and sectioning off certain areas. It has cleaned up a lot in the last several years.

About 2 mile loop were you can see the Nueces River. A great spot to view a variety of birds along with deer and javelina. Playground: New playground. Dog-friendliness: We walk our dogs there often.

We were traveling from South Padre to San Antonio. This was a great park to sit and eat at. We picked up food and ate under a shaded pavilion. There was a nice ADA regulated playground that was perfect to get our daughters energy out before the long drive ahead!

They have new playground equipment. Im not sure when it was put in but its big and has lots of different play stations. If you drive further in the park youll find the river for fishing or just relaxing also has a walking trail.

Nice park with lots of picnic tables, a observation deck and a couple of smaller lookout areas. Theyre working on a brand new play area that looks like its going to be awesome. Looks like theyve recently updated the boat ramp area. There may be a couple of walking trails, but I didnt check those out. Also, didnt use the restrooms, but there were some there.

We live in Corpus Christi which is fairly close by and we visit alot. Sometimes just for a relaxing drive, sometimes for a hike and sometimes to play at the park. Feels like your way out in the middle of nowhere when your actually near the hubbub of the town. I have even take my kids there for driving practice sometimes.

Great place to bird watch. Deer and ducks are used to people they come fairly close for food. Not a lot of shade or covered tables, nice kid playground, restroom was clean but if your a girl or need to go number 2 bring your own toilet paper. Fishing was iffy. Lots of bites but not much to catch, especially keepers. Big negative, boats pass by at full speed and the lines in the water get dragged by the wake or busted. Lots of underwater trees and debris already, boats make it worse. Overall it s out of the way but not really, and it s being improved.

Lovely place! There is a deck for hawk observation, but there is also a handicap accessible ramp to do some bird watching. Ive seen cardinals, green jays, hummingbirds, deer, turtles, ducks, a family of javelinas and a bobcat. There are walking trails, a river for fishing and if you just feel like taking a relaxing drive its definitely the place for that too!

Real beautiful and clean good area to go fishing and to have a picnic.the barbeque pits are a little beat up.need fixing,it would be real awesome if the city of corpus would offer overnight camping permits for the weekend of Easter.imagine the money it would make to improve the barbeque pits and add a play ground close to the river.i bet people would love that idea.please comment on weekend permits for the weekend of Easter.

Been going here for years and love the Hawk Watch. Also have seen many birds and wildlifes here ... Havalinas, deer, roseate spoonbills, Vermillion flycatchers and many more! Have even drifted down the river in a small boat. Very peaceful place.

They need something other than swings for the kiddos and the ants seriously need to be gotten under control but i love the nature its got and if you go out there early in the morning u can see the deer n hogs out having breakfast if they upgraded the play grounds and fixed the ant population is definitely give it 4 stars ....5 stars if they go out there a little more often and clean up the trash in and around the huge bbq pit .....if you dont have kids and just need a place to get out of your head this is definitely the place for you and its a beautiful place to jog or walk but as always remember its wooded area so always carry something for protection
