After hearing about this place for years through friends of friends in the scene, we finally checked it out. Wife had the carne guisada plate and I had the 2 gorditas lunch plate (got 1 shredded chicken and 1 carne guisada). All was absolutely delicious! As in living in Houston Id drive just to eat there. Killer food and great vibe! It was like a home cooked meal but with a family that can really throw it down and cook like a mofo. Taco grindin! Michael and co, we will be back many times in the future! Thanks again! Also, got to watch the taco challenge (fail) and the chicken fried steak challenge (fail). Looked amazing and its friggin huge in person! Got to try the chicken fried steak and it was delicious as well.

We came down for the weekend from Houston and stopped for lunch. The food was BOMB! My husband is very picky and he said the gordita was better than our favorite restaurant back home. The enchiladas were made as if my mother-inlaw made them. Good authentic food. However, their service is even better! My daughter was wearing her happy birthday tiara so the waitress asked her for her name and how old she turned. She then surprised her with a slice of cake with a candle and sang her Happy Birthday! I had tears in my eyes caz that was the sweetest thing ever!!! Next time we re in town we ll definitely stop again.

I forgot to take pics before I started eating it looked so good! The food was authentic and absolutely the best that Ive had anywhere. They are great portion sizes if you have a big appetite or like to take some to go. Two of us had the Chachos special, one person had the taco special, and one had the al a cart tacos. All of the people were very welcoming and friendly. Sometimes the smallest places are absolutely the best and this is a great example! We will definitely have to go back before we leave Corpus Christi.

I used to really love this place, however recently it seems they have lacked quality and assuredness. Last couple times I have been there (with a simple order of potato, egg, and cheese), they have either charged my card incorrectly, or given me a completely different order altogether. Recently, when I do get the correct order, it was way too much egg, and very little (if any) potato, and the cheese is not mixed into it at all, just a clump of it on the edge of the taco. The staff are very nice, but their great attitude does not overshadow the errors in my food. Unfortunately, will not be coming here again. Parking: Free parking, however very small, and on a busy day hard to pull out of spot once youre parked due to the drive-thru line being right in front of majority of available parking.

My Dad told me to stop by here while we were in town. The only thing Im upset about is that I didnt get pics of the other tacos! We tore them up, Lol this place slaps. Tripas were nice and crispy. Ive heard my friends talk about this place. Heck Ive heard someone at Stripes say This is the best taco place and its down the street. Well, this is my first experience here as follows. Long wait time to get your order taken as there is no speaker on the menu and no help comes to take orders either unlike thier competition. I got to the window after a 20 minute wait just to order. Mind you there was only one vehicle in front and 5 cars parked on property and by the amount of different people coming to the window (this shows unsafe food and money handling) these were mostly employees. I cannot speak to phone orders etc. After they took my order I was beginning to think I was at the wrong taco place by the rotting wood falling away from the building and onto the ground. There was literally a chunk of wood falling from the building and onto the ground. Anyway after 10-15 minutes of additional wait time, my order was handed to me. I received luke warm tacos with over cooked, old looking, egg crust from the rim of pan...along with old potatoes that still had huge eyes on them and tasted like dirt when biting into it. Tortillas were hard with chunks of flour or baking soda still in them. All the tacos went into the trash. Ill never go back and thats disappointing when a business losses sight of quality control. Dont get me started on where they are lossing money on cost control like produce and ingredients. Another visitor had a similar experience. See photos. This is a pattern and if the owners dont act...itll close down. 3/18/23 - The building hasnt taken apart and they are still open. Amazing.

We came down from Houston to visit family and saw this place had a taco challenge. My daughter says she was up for a challenge needless to say the taco won. Amazing meal today and the friendliest service I ve had in a while. Chicken Friday steak was the lunch special so I tried it out. The CFS was really good and the batter stuck to every bite. Looked like this place had great reviews, so I was excited to try. I liked that the barbacoa tacos werent too greasy, but they were actually a bit too dry, with really large chunks of onion. Little shop taco in Corpus Christi that has made a name for itself. The inside of the restaurant was very congested, along with the parking lot. It looked like the staff were a bit short on people because it took nearly 10 minutes before we placed our order. The flour tortillas are huge, so beware if you are visiting for the first time. The meat to tortilla ratio can vary depending on what taco you order. Not a huge fan of that fact, but thats just how they roll here. After all, it is Texas, as everything is bigger. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience. I wouldnt call it a gold mine, but one of the better spots to get a cheap bite in the city. 3.8/5

I was skeptical. Im soo picky especially about breakfast. But let me tell you the food here, is phenomenal. The lemonade was perfect. The horchata was amazing, and authentic. My brothers steak torta was so delicious and buttery. We only ask that it is slightly more toasted. I personally had the guisada taco, which I highly recommend. My little sister had the pancake platter, the pancakes looked so fluffy. And it was yummy! My family was extremely happy and satisfied. And so am I, we will be back!
