Great place to get bitten by a dog then have owner of dog talk crap while bar staff watched. Dude said your friend stepped on him its a service dog u cant do anything about it then wanted to go outside to settle the manor. We came in from sunshine out on patio walked straight to bar less than 10 ft. Tbe lights are the usual dim for a bar and dude has a 75 lbish black dog laying out in aisle and acts suprised when a hadicap guy trips over it. We werent even upset with tbe dog just the ahole owners attitude and lack of involvement from bar staff. Been going to Vernons over 20 years. Not going back. Love dogs maybe dude shouldve let dog lay down somewhere besides in front of door and not been such a prick. Patrons obviously knew the guy and let us know we were in wrong. Whats wrong with people. 30 min later spoke to owner over the phone. While applogizing he also said other people walked around the dog then went on to say dog was tucked in between people not in the aisle Advised my friend who has lost use of most left leg and walks with severe limp and is half blind and has a handicap to just go ahead n make a police report

Service was good after waiting for shift change. Lively place with bar games and outside seating. Full bar. Went on steak night, and the steak was properly cooked but was not of quality beef. So, even though it was a thin cut, the steak was still pretty tough. Still good times with friends.

Lulu was super nice and made me the most delicious burger and fries I ve ever had in corpus. Will be going back for sure. Bar had some good allocated whiskey for better prices than anywhere else in town also!

There is a reason they win Dive Bar every year. Because you feel that relaxed vibe, but its far from a dive bar. They gave a GREAT steak night (Thurs), as well as finally a great kitchen (as of Oct 2023) which really cares about quality. Also, its an awesome friendly dog friendly bar. In other words, if you suck as a dog owner, dont bring your unfriendly dog.

My husband and I had a great time, the only bad thing that happened was when we walked to our vehicle we encountered a man on a bike. He approached us aggressively and had a tire pump in his hand. We just got in our car and left he kept screaming at us. A little terrifying.

As always, Vernons atmosphere is warm and friendly, the daily drink specials are priced so you wont break your budget. Lunch is served from I believe 10 or 11 until 2pm and dinner from either 5 or 6pm until around 11pm.

They dont have drink specials. DO NOT eat the chicken wings there. Our first order smelled and tasted funky, so we sent them back, they said they would open a new pack of chicken. The owner came and told us they had complaints about the chicken wings from Sams Club. They should have stopped serving them!!!!! My daughter and I ate from the second batch and that early morning we both got toilet sick and my daughter was throwing up all night, we had stomach cramps too. We shouldnt have ate from the second order. Bartender guy was nice and friendly.

the service was enjoyable to watch. a customer had told the woman bartending that the plumbing was backed up in the restroom. she ignored him until she had to explain to another customer the issue, then she had to ask again what he had told her seconds before. AND THEN they had these hot dogs HEATING UP. the only image I could think of was that episode of Kramar in Seinfeld asking for the last and only hot dog at the theatres concession booth

It was my first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I dont recall the bartenders name but he was very professional courteous and the customers seemed like good people professionals family its my understanding you can bring your children with you up until a certain hour they have games there for the kids no smoking inside but they have a great patio with picnic tables two large screen TVs you can bring your dogs which is awesome so I recommend this place but they used to have a kitchen and I believe its closed down right now because it was recently sold I dont know if that service is going to be up and running again but I recommend.
