An awesome, new, local place for more savory baked goods, pies, and breakfast. Incredibly classy and well furnished, with unique menu items. Breads and larger items to take home and snack on! the Adam & Eve - sourdough toast with bacon jam, arugula, brie, and a poached egg - is my favorite. The Kouign Amanns are also a delicious, flaky, sticky, sugary treat. Check them out!

There s one line to order and it frustrated a few people as it seems everyone was all over the place. There were no menus at the start of the line so no one knew what they could order or how to order. Someone wanted a cup of ice (already had ordered) and had to wait in line to ask the person at the register. The process was chaotic. My wife got her Adam and Eve toast quickly (it was delicious) but I waited an additional 20 mins for my Billy Elvis. but the food was delicious when I finally got it. Coffee is drip coffee.

It s been awhile since we have paid a visit, we used to come here almost every Sunday back when they first opened. I noticed they added some new items and changed up the menu just a touch. My husband really enjoys the Front Porch, it s his go to when he come here for a light breakfast/brunch he absolutely loves their Pimento Cheese spread. I have tried the Front Porch, Adam & Eve, and recently the Lox & Everything and they were all exceptional choices! I think by far my favorite is the lox. Their sourdough bread is quite delicious and fluffy. We have also tried quite a bit of their baked goods. My top contenders are the Kouign Amann and the Almond Croissant. By far the absolute BEST almond croissant that I have had anywhere! The cinnamon roll is a little bit of a hit or miss for me, I find it a bit dry and the icing to dough ratio isn t ideal for how big they are. Maybe just a tough more icing would be good . Granted the last time I had their cinnamon roll was about a year ago. The Cranberry Orange Scone, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and the Brownie were all just okay. Not a repeat item for us. Everyone is always friendly and helpful if there are questions about any of the items. It s really just a nice place to hang around and honestly a cozy atmosphere to read a book here which I have done in the past.

Went in because I wanted to find a boulangerie where I can look for my morning bread. I had difficulty finding good bread after moving here 2 months. People recommend this place so I decided to try for myself. Outrageously overpriced! $4 for a baguette?! $5 for a chocolatine?! With $9 I can buy a week s worth of bread. It s abusive and honestly not great tasting. I was disappointed. C est n importe quoi.

The reason I don t give 5 stars it s because (self serve) coffee tasted a little old. Everything else is just great! I ll be back again, no doubt. Parking: Location it s perfect!

Has everything needed for a great bakery- great baked goods, nice vibe and design, and a nice place to hang out. Chicken salad sandwiches are always solid, great cookies, croissants are nice too! Coffee is solid, but if you are looking for espresso they only regular coffee (but it tastes solid, and if you are hanging out there you can keep refilling so it s pretty nice). Bathrooms are really pretty and very clean. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Im not sure what happened here today, but heres how ir was... we arrived around noon, and already they were out of an ingredient that took off selecting one of the meals. So that left 4 to choose from. Ordered more ingredients to get them through closing would be great. We ordered, and only half our order was placed, so we had to order the rest again. Then there was the issue that they served our food with wet and dirty forks and knives. The fork had sticky stuff from the other persons meal before me. Very gross and had a hard time thinking what else isnt cleaned back in their kitchen area.

Really beautiful spot but unfortunately the pastries and coffee didnt live up to the food/atmosphere. We had the coffee cake and rosemary citrus scone, interesting but not good enough to devour. Downtown toast was amazing. Service was nice, served our food to the table and explained items without hesitation. Unfortunately the cafe au lait canteen was broken. The coffee was a half step above drinkable. There are many options for milk to add to your coffee including one called cafe au lait not sure what that means. Cut spot but if you want good coffee walk down the street to Lucys.

Put this lil gem on your list of houses to visit. The ambience is amazing & the food, from pastries to breakfast bites as well as fresh loaves of bread are mouthwatering. I appreciate the high quality ingredients. My fave is the orange cranberry scone, melts in your mouth. Today I tried the front porch & it was flavorful. The jalapeño sourdough loaf is perfect for your home brunch or even dinner. The manager Amberle leads by example & the entire staff provides first class customer. Love CK!

We had the opportunity to grab a bite for breakfast, and the meals were well designed. We even had a local stop by and say hi. If you are in Corpus Christi, grab breakfast here. Oh, and they will give you a Customer Service card for you to fill out - its not needed. How do you improve something that is perfect?

We visited the cafe at around 9am Saturday morning. I wanted to visit central due to the inviting atmosphere and the thought that i could try freshly baked pastries. When we arrived it seemed promising but once we tried the food all expectations were unmet. The self serve coffee was absolutely mediocre, flavorless. As our server brought our food, she dropped the fork onto the table and placed it right back on the plate as if nothing happened. I had to ask for a new set of silverware. I assume this was due to a lack of experience/training so I wasn t too upset by this. The poached eggs on the adam and eve toast were very undercooked and runny. The scones didn t taste very fresh. I can tell the staff aim to ensure the atmosphere is pleasant and that we had a comfortable experience but that couldnt have helped the poorly prepared food we had.

I asked for my egg to be extra cooked and they made it seem like it s all just made at once with little effort and made a half promise to try and cook my eggs a little longer. . . Then when served it looks like they cooked my eggs a little LESS and I got nauseous just looking at what was supposed to be exciting and they smiled handing me what I didn t order. Don t come here if you don t want to be sick not at all friendly to any dietary requests either

Was excited to try this place bc of the good reviews. Went on a Sunday morning, highly disappointing. The pastries we got (apple scone and choc muffin) tasted stale/old. I asked if the Downtown Hot Brown Toast was soggy & was told no. It was served swimming in a sauce that was just ok. The bread was nothing special. The chicken that came on it didn t taste good either, tomato made it soggier too. I was prepared to only have regular drip coffee but even that was less than mediocre & lids provided didn t fit the coffee cups employees meant well but overall just poor execution. Cute place but I ll stick to Cafe Calypso for good coffee. *sigh* The search continues for a good bakery in Corpus that compares to the French ones in Houston.

It s been a long time since I ve had customer service that was that good. Every treat that we bought, they offered to warm up in a fired oven. The coffee you got was not espresso but regular coffee and that s fine but the way they offered different creams and milk in the refrigerator was adorable I wish I would ve gotten some of the sourdough. They had there because their bread looked amazing. I was all over the place. I wish I would ve bought so much more. When we came here for the first few times there were different employees and it was a calm and friendly welcoming experience. Now however, thats not the case. With all these new employees at the front, we feel unwelcome and judged because theyre all rude. This ruins the experience of central kitchen and what it stands for, or what it used to stand for...Truly its not as enjoyable of an experience because it feels like ive interrupted something every time i want to order a delicious downtown hot brown and like im on the stage on americas next top model. I was in Corpus Christi visting and found this gem of a bakery. They have the best baked goods. Their cheese cake & cookies were the best. The hummingbird cake reminded me of a Washington cake . You must try their lemon rosemary chiffon cake....awesome! My go to now when in CC.

Posting here, suggestion for a better toast. If you like pimento cheese, like me, you ll be tempted by the toast with pimento cheese, bacon, tomato and avocado. The problem is they toast the bread with the cheese already on top so it becomes a greasy mess. The pimento cheese structure is ruined. I ended up asking for a piece of bread to transfer the rest on, but sadly, no pimento cheese for me. I hope they update the recipe. But try ordering it toasted pre-cheesed.

Really great breakfast spot in downtown. Very friendly staff who know their baking. Excellent and fun open faced sandwiches, and the wide assortment of European style baked goods is fantastic. True to their inspiration I have yet to try something that I didnt like. The café ole on tap matches the atmosphere well.

Food was amazing! Took a while, but I suppose thats expected. The guy at the register seemed a little in the weeds. Even mentioned it being hectic. **A positive attitude goes a long way with customers. There was 1 lady there that was super outgoing & smiling the WHOLE time! Id definitely go back!

The downtown hot brown and kouiegn amann are the stars of the show. The prices are too high for a majority of the items. I ve tried two different dry muffins. I liked the sausage kolache but they are 5 dollars. At a donut shop they are at least help that cost. I like the drip coffee, they had a variety of cream and syrups. I d recommend trying it but the visits for me will be infrequent.

Great little bakery with tables to seat at for breakfast or lunch and some drinks/drip coffee. Tried the sausage-cheddar-Serrano pepper Kolaznik, which was tasty but definitely ask to get it warmed up at least 5-10 minutes for you. Also had the French pastry Kouign-amann and it was delicious, very much like the real thing in Brittany although maybe a bit less buttery. The coffee is not very good, very watered down, but that s probably not what you should come here for anyway.

Pastries were excellent fresh, and quality tasting id compare to some Ive had in Europe. Compliments to the Head chef, Also good atmosphere, great foods, and liked the coffee self-make section with self pour condiments .highly Recommend.

Such an awesome little spot! Bread and pastries are fresh baked right in the front of the store. Coffee is a self-serve setup. We loved our scone & Adam & Eve toasts! My only complaint/suggestions: 1) the whites eggs were undercooked on both sandwiches, way more so than just a regular over-easy egg. Still good though 2) the Specials board is in the back hall by the bathrooms, I wish it was visible by the main counter so I would ve seen it before I ordered!

Food is great, don t get me wrong. The way you order is very disjointed. No signage. Until recently no menu. Now there is a menu but it s at the register not even where you start ordering. The hot food consistently takes a long time. Then when it s done it s not over yet. You have to get up and go get it before they frustratingly call your name over and over three or four times in a second.

Theyll even warm it up via their fire oven. The coffee is only hot, no iced options. Luckily, Lucys is right around the corner. Definitely recommended for a Saturday/Sunday brunch outing!
