If your going for fish, maybe try somewhere else. I had lunch on 9/26/24 and who ever cooked my blackened snapper needs to not cook for your restaurant anymore. Seriously. It had to have been thawed in a microwave, it was a piece of rubber that I had to use a steak knife to cut through. It was similar to what I would imagine chewing on a sponge is like. Blackened...the fish is supposed to be somewhat black? Well this fish was light brown with zero flavor, as if it were cooked in olive oil. Server was amazing.

If you want seafood and beer this is the place! The local beer was great and the food was fresh. The staff was helpful, and the food was 10/10. Cost was about $25/person. There is ample seating inside and outside. Total coat for a table of 5 with drinks and tip $102. Their seafood knocks landrys and Joes crab shack off the map. Give Railroad Seafood & Brewery a try they wont disappoint.

It was my misfortune to celebrate my daughter s birthday at this restaurant. It was also my first and last time to endure its indifferently prepared food, incredibly long wait to get anything to eat and shrieking of multiple patrons drunkenly attempting to have a conversation amid the general cacophony. The food took nearly two hours to arrive from the kitchen. It was dead on arrival cold, bland and very expensive. The room we were condemned to occupy was crowded, deafeningly loud and poorly lit. The tables looked like something you might buy at a yard sale (a poor one, at that). The single bright aspect of the entire experience was the long-suffering waitress desperately trying to serve multiple tables (ours being just one).

Our server tried her best and was nice. The wait from the kitchen was horrible. The only thing we actually got food wise was delivered wrong because another table received our order and we got theirs.... it was fixed pretty quickly, and the right order was good. However, waiting over an hour for one shared entree was a little frustrating. Prices were okay, I guess. My opinion is maybe if it was less busy it would have been a better experience... however, with our experience, we will not be going back.

On 8/31/2024 went to dine at the Railroad seafood food downtown Corpus Christi. Started to eat my food when I noticed hair on my food . Female manager came over and when I showed her that there was hair on my food. She looked like I was bothering her. The waitress was more apologetic than the manager. The manager gave poor customer service.

Husband and I went out for the first time. Ordered the The Sancha and it was a different version of a Margarita. I enjoyed every bit of it. We had Jalepeno hush puppies, Cajun Grilled Swordfish with onion rings and side salad, and my husband Ordered coconut shrimp with broccoli slaw and red potatoes. All delicious and definitely will come back.

It was overall an okay experience. We were seated in a booth in a corner, next to a very loud group. Thats obviously not the restaurants fault, just inconsiderate people. Our waiter was very on point, even being so busy. We tried the Bock Queso, which was pretty good. I had the Chef Dannys Stuffed Shrimp, which was the definite winner out of the whole experience. The Freight Blue Moon Mango Margarita mainly just tasted of the beer, definitely no mango. My husband tried the Coconut Shrimp, which was, unfortunately, the least coconuttty shrimp either of us have ever had. I was not impressed with the onion rings, which were more like a pile of thin onions and batter falling off. Overall, the server was great, the food was okay, and the atmosphere would have been okay minus the loud table. Wed go back to try other things because of recommendations from my husbands coworkers. But I cant say this would be up there in places weve eaten.

Food: i ordered stuffed shrimp with onion rings. The stuffed shrimp were very small. The flavor was not that great. The onion rings were soggy and the batter fell off. They also put cinnamon in the batter. It was not done well. My husband ordered the blackened snapper. It was like hard rubber. They did not have the corn casserole. They did not have cole slaw. They did not have tartar sauce. McDonalds filet of fish would have been better. Atmosphere: The restaurant was too loud.

Food was not made to order; it seemed almost reheated. The ice tea was way too sweet but was corrected by our waiter. Beer beans were dry and mushy with a mashed potato texture. I am willing to pay a higher price if the food is high quality; not the case here. The only thing going for this place is its atmosphere/ design and our wonderful server. Not sure what was up with the weird dish washer guy who sat in the corner watching us eat the whole time, a lil creepy.

The food is a 5. The service a 5. They turned the lights on in the dining room at 10:57 p.m. the restaurant closes at 11. We were already getting ready to leave. Its like they are treating us like a bar at 2 am. I feel like we are a problem to them. I would understand maybe 11:15 doing that but even that isnt cool. If I would have known we were going to be a problem I would have taken the family somewhere else. Thanks for making us feel unwelcome. Again. We were already getting ready to pack up and go because we were aware of the time. We are the only family eating on a Saturday. Night. Would think youd appreciate the business. you should never change the ambiance abruptly on paying customers enjoying their family.

I had gumbo and shrimp quesadillas. The roux was good but NOT Nola and hardly had shrimp in it. The quesadillas had a heavy, creamy, sauce on top that was good but unnecessary for flavor and the shrimp were over cooked. With that said, I m being a harsh critic of the food. It is bar sort of food that s pretty good and nothing really wrong with it. Just don t expect anything fancy. The drinks are good, they get the job done. They re standard and stiff. The staff are very friendly and fun to talk to and I was here with my husband and we had a nice date night.

I took a group of about 70 men (and maybe 10 women) to dinner at Railroad. Devon, Sandy, Grace and Kimberly took care of everyone from beggining to end. Starting with drinks at the bar, they served quickly. Once most were there and seated, appetizers started - onion rings and fresh salads with avacado. Next we had a steady flow of fried and grilled shrimp, chicken tenders, fried oysters, fried catfish, and grilled snapper. It was a fixed menu from which I chose. I admit, during appetizers, I worried these men wouldn t have enough but we ended up having left overs for the group to take. Not only was it more than enough, it was excellent. Everyone I spoke to told me it was really amazing food: delicious, large portions and if someone was dieting, they didn t have to miss out. Whether it s an event or dinner with a couple friends, I d definitely go back.

Walked in this past weekend as some big event was taking place down the road. So it looked like it was getting busy, and that was honestly not going to be an issue. But when we walked up to the host to asked how long the wait was the hostess was unwelcoming and rude. She said it would be a while, and it only turned out to be less than 5 minutes. As we were being sat, the waitress walking us to our table told us that the restaurant just got super busy and that we would have to be patient. This was unprompted and unnecessary. We left right after we got sat at a dirty table. Being busy is never an excuse to be rude with customers. Consider hiring a friendlier hostess. Her presence as part of the front of house team is going to cost you more money.

Got there Thursday a little after 5, for dinner and craft beer. Sat at the bar. The bartender Cora was excellent. Came by often enough that my water class was never empty, but not so often that it was annoying. Shrimp app, mahi dinner were both great. Id go back for the food. There was a nice selection of draft beer available. I only tried one house beer, the black IPA. It was nothing special. The other beers were ok. I would not go back for the beer. The only real problem was how long it took to get my food. The place wasnt that crowded, but it took well over a half hour to just get my appetizer. Dinner followed quickly after that, though.

I reviewed this establishment last year and was thrilled to return unbeknownst to me that my return visit would be so disappointing. My salad was thrown together with no attempt whatsoever to even make it somewhat appealing. This was followed by a bowl of gumbo that was cold and unappetizing. I did order the almost $45 main platter and to be honest the Drum and shrimp where the only reason I gave any stars at all. All of the staff was sitting around on their phone while patrons were being left unattended and clearly looking for assistance. My silverware was extremely dirty, there were gnats flying around me the entire time I ate my meal. So sad because my first experience here was fantastic and this one felt like I was in high school detention. I have to blame management on this loss from me. I will say if you are looking for a fantastic experience go 4 blocks over to Water street and enjoy happy hour from 3-6. I will go there for dinner tomorrow before going back home.

Was in town and heard this was a good place to get some food. Got there right at 11 for lunch. Service was excellent and very attentative even though it got crowded really quick. The menu selection is nice and plenty of different items are offered. Would have loved to try some of the beers they have, but since it was a business lunch I ended up with the hibiscus sweet tea. That tea was amazing!!!!!! Ordered an appetizer and main course. Food is plenty. However for the place somewhat having a cajun flair all the food was looking delicious but everything needed salt and pepper everything was a tat bland and I watched several other tables reaching for salt and pepper shakers as well. Not sure if it is always bland or just the cook didnt add enough spices. Not that it is a deal breaker and to never go again. I just like a little pep in my food. Especially when there is a cajun flair. Pricing is a bit on the higher side but you do get a good large helping.

From the moment we entered it was just uncomfortable. The waiter saw us only when necessary, I think 3 times in total (ordering, bringing the food, and bringing the check). Even after I paid the check through the QR code he disappeared. The food was okay but the whole experience was just off putting. The brews and food were really good, but the service we received from Bentley made our visit miles above fantastic. He made sure the beers and meals were to our liking. Even though the current special, Shrimp Pesto Pasta, was not available the staff was able to make up a batch and it was incredible! Bentley answered all the questions we bombarded him with, helped with dessert decision on cheesecake and made a good, strong coffee to go with the dessert. We hope to return to CC soon for another visit and are looking forward to good food and drinks at Railroad served by Bentley!

Overall very disappointing experience. Food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. Our avocado salad ($16) was 90% iceberg lettuce, 1 tomato, 3 olives out of can and some weak Italian vinaigrette, my wifes manhattan had a massive ice cube which watered down the drink and when we got the bill it was also $16. For $16, I would expect a phenomenal cocktail with something unique but this was just the classic ingredients (well bourbon, bitters, and sweet vermouth with a orange peel and 1 cherry), burger was way overcooked and brussel sprouts were undercooked and had almost no bacon. For over $50 a person for a salad, entree, 2 beers and 1 cocktail, it was a total rip off. Recommend skipping this place all together and trying any other restaurant in Corpus.

They do have a kids menu, its towards the end of the regular menu. We gave them a second chance but wont be back.

We ate here for lunch and I ordered the ceviche appetizer and a cup of sausage, red beans, and rice as my meal. Both were good, however in the ceviche dish, there were an overwhelming amount of tomatoes and cilantro and hardly any fish. The amount of tomato/cilantro mix was enough to fill the bowl that the food originally came in. Service was a little slow too. The sausage, red beans, and rice were great though!

The catfish was excellent. Crispy coating and meaty tender fish. Unfortunately no hush puppies to be found on the menu. The hobo potatoes are a mixture of regular fries and sweet potato fries. Oddly the sweet potato fries are skinny like shoe string potatoes. Not exactly the 50-50 mixture I was expecting. My preference would have been hush puppies even with the Mahi Mahi special I had ordered. This was my first intro to Mahi Mahi. I dont understand the the hype. IMO it wasnt worth the $22 for the plate. A MN walleye is just as tasty. My daughter enjoyed the shrimp with baby potatoes. It came with a lot of green peppers. Appreciated the friendly staff but it was difficult to hear her from across the table. Parking: Difficult to find restaurant due to construction.

Me and a group of guys were in town for a bachelor party. Decided to go to dinner here. That was the wrong decision. We waited well over an hour to get our food after we placed our order. I ordered a beer, gumbo, and stuffed shrimp. The gumbo was definitely not made in house and came with limons inside the gumbo (never seen that in my life). Shrimp was just ok. Definitely not worth the $25 price. A friend ordered the shrimp tacos and ordered an extra one. They brought out an extra fish taco and then never brought back out the correct taco after he said something. Will definitely never be back.

Very good! We had eaten at the Calallen location and had an okay experience, . We decided to try the downtown location, WOW . Quick, courteous and friendly service. The Location has easy access. The parking lot was clean and level but could use a little more lighting. Handicap parking was spacious and right in front. The Hostess was accommodating. The Wait Staff was working together to help keep the tables clean and clear. That were always checking to make sure guests were taken care of. A Staff Member would sing Happy Birthday or Las Mañanitas, what a treat. The food was hot, fresh and flavorful. We again did the Family style dinner, . The food not only looked good but tasted delicious. The Bread Pudding was served nicely warmed. Only negative was the last serving of Ice Tea had a strange flavor which was not in the previous servings. Parking: Lot as clean and level, no pot holes. Could use a little more lighting. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking in front. Level to get to the door. Wide entry and passage for wheelchairs to access.

I was very disappointed with the service, the food and the wait time. Some may say this is the greatest place to dine and I will beg to differ with that. Tonight visit was horrible, we waited for at least an hour before we got the food. After sitting there waiting for our food, we finally get it and it was cold. Now I m not the one to send back food, I did and once my food came back to the table it was Luke warm with the old cold food underneath it and fries were not appetizing at all. It taste as if I was given wet soggy fries. My wife food was Luke warm and my son food was warm with cold fries underneath his actual food. Now I m not in the business to drag anyones establishment down but the money you pay for the food, its definitely not worth it. I don t care about the cost, when it s all said and done all I want is quality. In which I did not receive.

Visited Corpus and stopped at the Railroad for a late night dinner after reading their reviews and it being recommended by a local friend. We started with Fried Calamari and the Oysters Rockefeller, their appetizer special of the night. We also had their fish (flounder) and shrimp plate, fried. The calamari was really delicious, probably the best I ve had in a long time. The Oysters were disappointing. I was expecting to taste fresh oysters, garlic/shallots, butter and a bit of cheese. These however were smothered with too much cheese (I know, I know there s no such thing as too much cheese but in this case it was) and the other flavors were overshadowed. The fish and shrimp plate was also disappointing. The fish did not taste fresh. It tasted more like it was a frozen filet, the shrimp were large but somewhat dry. The Hobo Fries were delicious but they skimped on the sweet potato fries, the best part, and the stewed corn side dish was tasteless. Maybe it was too late when we visited so I ll probably go back and try other dishes.

To start, the food tasted very good. Great flavors. Grilled shrimp done right with fries....but they were both...along with the rice...lukewarm. All were tasty, just not hot. Broccoli slaw was killer and cold...the way it should be. My friend had gumbo, good flavor, and hot. Shrimp is preferred, not chicken and fish. The beers were ok. Kinda ordinary. This was a Tuesday night around 6:30. The restaurant was full of patrons...a good sign we thought. But service was slow, the server was not knowledgeable about the beer list. And we were at a Brewery! I ordered a flight. When she brought it, there was no list to tell me what the beers were. That is not the way its done elsewhere. The atmosphere was very good. But again, the management needs to do a better job of managing and training.

Great atmosphere at this restaurant. It was so busy at lunch that we had to sit at the bar. The Salmon Salad that I got, was really sub par. Instead of using dark leaves, cheaper lettuce was used for the base. Taste was drowned by Sweet Chilly Sauce ( which I love). But it was just excessive. Service was great. Overall 2 Salmon salads and 2 Ice Teas for $68 lunch is way too much for what you get

Our new favorite place to eat. Stopped by for lunch before heading to the aquarium which is really close by. This place must be popular with the working folks in the area because it was packed for a weekday lunch. Thankfully we didn t have to wait long for a table. One downside was it was really loud but once folks started leaving it was much better. Fresh, delicious food with friendly, efficient service. The onion rings were to die for but way too much for 2. Both of us had shrimp & it was flavorful. We were hoping for home brewed root beer since they brew beer but no luck. We re adding this to our Visit Again list when visiting the coast.

I was seated by the hostess and basically forgot about it was a little over twenty minutes before I was approached by a waitress. I ordered the appetizer sampler and everything was good except the onion rings. For the entree I ordered the chicken fried steak which wasnt properly battered so the steak was burnt and tough they tried to cover it up with lots of gravy. The best part of the entire meal was actually the broccoli slaw it was delicious. The manager was very apologetic for both the time I had to wait and the burnt steak and offered to give me the meal for free which I denied. Overall the feel of the place is nice the outside seating is complemented by oscillating fans which keep you cool and helps keep the mosquitoes and flys off of you and your food.
