Drinks were horrible. Took one drink of a Bloody Mary and sent it back. Both waitress and Drink maker wanted an explanation as to what was wrong with the Bloody Mary. They questioned my knowledge of bloody Mary s and asked me if It was because I wasn t a Bloody Mary person. Tasted like tomato juice mixed with bad tap water. Ordered a house margarita, tasted like a chemical nightmare. I was not willing to be honest about how it tasted because I didn t feel like explaining myself a second time and possibly being questioned about margaritas so I held my tongue and held my breath and gulped it down. Husband got undercooked shrimp which he politely hid in his napkin. My Birria was just okay. My husband didn t say anything about the shrimp because at that point we already knew we wouldn t be back. We asked for our bill; they made sure to keep the watered down mary on the bill and we asked for them to remove it, that had to be negotiated in the back as if we were asking for them to recount our votes. Waitress wasn t sure if she could remove the kool aide concoction because I took a single drink and in her words, it was consumed . Never going back. Ever.

Every time we ve been here we have had issues with services being so slow. Today we came and ordered a plate of 3 tacos (ground beef) and one with 2 (fajitas) both with no onions and cilantro. Both plates came out with two tacos (the ground beef which we ordered three of) and one came out with the onions and cilantro (the fajita). Then when we went to pay the check we noticed the price of the two tacos was $18 when on the menu it says $14. We asked the server and she said it was because we ordered fajita and there s an up charge for that. No where on the menu did it indicate that there was an up charge. Both the server and the manager said that it was a typo. How is that a typo when it s just omitted? It would have been a typo if something was misspelled or if it was just a transposed number. This was just omitted completely both on the physical and QR code menu. Like I said I ve eaten here about 4 times and every time there s been SOMETHING wrong. Won t be returning which is sad because the food is good when they get it right just the service suck and their menus need to reflect their prices.

Do not order from door dash if you want food from Metizos. I have given Metizo so many chances and it has been the same result, I am missing something. This time it is the beans but I have ordered many times from them and even after ordering fajitas the did not send tortillas. They have amazing food but I do not recommending ordering doordash . There is definitely a communication issue and you will definitely be missing something.

Fajitas are so good. Daughter ordered bacon wrapped shrimp to go after the recent hurricane. Lots of people without power. Things were extremely chaotic at the restaurant. Yet through all this, the food and its presentation were excellent! Kudos!

The Birria tacos are soooo good! I also typically dislike salsa but the salsa here is so good, the green sauce is delicious as well. The horchata is yummy as well. You can tell the food is homemade. The food is consistently inconsistent, but its still so good every time. The only think im not a fan of personaly is the breakfast, but my husband loves the breakfast. The service is always good. Our favorite Mexican restaurant!

Beef Fajitas are SO GOOD! Best around hands down... The ONLY reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had high hopes on a Torta and I placed my order and then they came back several minutes later and told me that they dont have torta bread. So I decided to not get anything and had one of my moms fajita tacos! And, it also took a bit to get my moms drink. But other than that the red & green salsa was amazing! HIGHLY recommend

I was hesitant on making a review here but what happened yesterday made me more furious. I was enjoying dinner here with my brother and we were enjoying it till the food arrived. My brothers food was fine but when I got my fajita plate I only got 8 slices of fajita while the rest of the plate was completely covered with grilled onions and it was an excessive amount at that. I dont remember it being like that with that low amount, and I felt cheated off from it. Now I could of just gone home and not come here for months, but what really ticked me off was when one of the waiters came in front of me and said Thx for the tip in a very sarcastic tone (I dont tip anyone if I didnt enjoy the experience or the food) so I tried to be nice and said no problem, then the waitress literally give me the nastiest look and rolled her eyes at me when she left. Definitely not coming back for a while because of that stunt.

Our service was excellent!!! We had a questions about their enchiladas so they brought out samples of their sauce for us. Both their poblano and tomatillo sauce were amazing!! I mixed them 10/10 would recommend. Their white queso was great. I got their prickly pear margarita it was good but basic. My kids got their flautas and liked it. It was our 1st time here so they brought out a dip sampler for us with guacamole, white and yellow queso all their dips were good. The beef fajita in their poblano enchiladas was so tender and paired perfectly with the sauce and cheese.

Great place for some good authentic Mexican food. I was recommended by a local and tried them out. The restaurant is located right at the corner so you cant really miss it. The menu is large and diverse and they have everything from plates to desserts and a good variety of alcoholic beverages. I ordered the birria tacos and they were quite tasty. My only slight gripe is the dipping sauce. Ive tried other places and the dipping sauce is what makes birria tacos amazing. This one is slightly on the bland side. But everything else from the service to atmosphere is great

Strange atmosphere - there are too many excellent Mexican spots around here for this one to get more than 2 stars. We went for a family celebration and within 10 minutes of sitting down the pink haired server tells us she likes to wear devil horns on Sundays because it s ironic it was weird. The food here used to be on point. I was coming almost once a week for a year. Over the last two months something has changed. I m guessing they hired new cooks or one of their regular cooks left. Just moved to the neighborhood so we thought we would try them. The food was fantastic. I had the chicken and shrimp fajita plate. Everything was cooked perfect. I have never had a bad meal or bad service from this restaurant. That said, I usually go there for their pozole and it never disappoints. Chips and salsa are good. I ve tasted their fajita and it was good. I remember thinking their queso wasn t spectacular but it was fine. Tacos were very good. Chilaquiles were delicious. Pancakes with interesting options were good, maybe a little expensive for pancakes but good. Their trash can nachos or whatever they call them look delicious. The rating system for restaurants in this area is insane. As I write this, Mestizos gets 3.8 out of 184 reviews on Yelp. This place should definitely rank above 4 stars. At least Google Maps gets it right with 4.3 stars.

I really like this place but I wish things were a bit different. My complaints are more so with the restaurant s TVs being messed up & flickering - it can effect people with photosensitive epilepsy & for that reason I d say get your food to go until they sort the TV situation out. Meanwhile, most the food was fantastic! The mixed chicken & steak quesadillas are to drool and fight over. The cheese enchiladas were good - not the best but not the worst. The Guacamole was tasty - not too much lime juice or onion. The loaded queso you can order with the loaded portion on the side for those that do or do not want it - nicely accommodating. The appetizer sampler plate is a good amount of food and good for the price. If you have a table full of 2-3 people with small stomachs - ordering one of those could almost work out as a meal. The corn / elotes tasted weird. Lots of corn, lots of mayo, lots of cheese, but not a lot of spices. I found it was missing salt, pepper, paprika, heck any spice would ve been a nice kick but it was mostly wet canned corn with mayo & cheese it seemed like. Not the best elotes around. Would be nicer if the corn was grilled even. I don t know. Left a lot to be desired that s for sure.

The 1st time we went here it was great! Tonight was the total opposite. Our Margs had no salt on the rim, Our queso was so watered down and flavorless we sent it back. I ordered Pozole, the bowl was full when I received it, by the time I dug out the bones and fat it was maybe 3/4 full. My husband ordered the combo fajitas, recived beef only and was charged for combo. Phenomenal food. I have had both their breakfast and lunch/dinner men and I think their breakfast is better. I am more of a breakfast eater than dinner and the Migas plate was outstanding. Our family members and friends have been patrons of this establishment since 2020. The food was consistently good, but the service wasnt always the best. I really like the manager/owner, who was always kind and fair to us, which is why I hesitated to write this negative review. I considered myself and family members to be loyal customers. We dined as couples, families with kids, and even large group celebrations. However, our last dining experience was disappointing. First of all, we were served a weak red hot sauce (which is the usual sauce at Mama Juanitas) with our chips, instead of Mestizos signature smokey fire-roasted salsa. We asked for the better salsa, but never got it or a reason for the change. For an appetizer, we ordered Gaucamole, which we ordered almost every time we were there. In the past, it was always served in the larger 10 or 12 ounce salsa type bowl with a generous heaping over the top. This time, it was served in a small 4 ounce salsa bowl with a large piece of lettuce. I had to pick it up to see what it was. It was 4 spoonfuls of guacamole. I called the waiter back to let him know we had ordered the guacamole appetizer, which is usually large enough for 3 people. He smiled, pointed and said, Thats it. I was shocked. I told him thats very deceptive to have a regular dish on the menu at the same price, but change it to a significantly smaller serving. He just smiled awkwardly. I asked for the manager, but nobody ever came to our table. We ordered fajitas for 2, enchiladas and a torta, and a dessert we all shared, but I remained aggravated that we were duped into purchasing a single serving of guacamole for the same old price on the appetizer menu. Most restaurants have increased their prices on nearly everything on their menus, but they still serve the same portion. If prices are higher, theres no deception. If you had hiked up the price from $9 to $20, it would have been an honest business transaction. The entire experience was disappointing. We spent over $100 on that meal, plus the tip was about $125 total. We havent returned since then, and I finally decided to write this review to warn other customers of the deceptive business practice.

We are regulars, but will stop going after today. They are too inconsistent. This is what I received for my brunch order. They went from making hashbrowns to using hash brown patties (like McDonalds) and the bacon was very obviously microwaved and very hard! I m not sure what was going on with the pancakes either. They had holes in them and tasted horrible. When I called and sent the manager a picture, he told me to bring it back up and he d make it right. I asked for a refund and nothing. Sorry, y all should have made it right the first time! I don t have time to be driving back and forth to your restaurant when I could make something better at home. Sorry we wasted our time.

Excellent! Everything we had well above average. Had Tinga Mexicana enchiladas with chipotle sauce. Super tasty. More meats and sauces then usually found. $3 happy hour margaritas a nice plus. Service friendly and efficent. Highly recommend.

Delicious beef fajitas and really cravable birria tacos. We have had dinner, lunch, and brunch here and have never had a bad meal. Hopping on weekends!! Also, they have warm, smokey salsa that reminds me of the OLD version of salsa fuego at Taco Cabana...not the post-pandemic imitation (iykyk) Parking: Restaurant is in a small shopping center and parking can be crowded.

THEIR BRUNCH IS AMAZING! I had the Miga s and they were probably the best I have ever had! The breakfast potatoes were delicious and the bacon is nice and thick! I ve eaten here for lunch and dinner which are great too - but if you haven t had their brunch, you are missing out!!!

Update 3/19/2023 - we went tonight because on their website it clearly stated that Sundays kids eat free. When our waiter brought our check, I questioned him about it because the kids meals were on there, and he was confused. He asked the manager who said No, we dont do that anymore. So, if youre thinking of going for kids eat free Sundays, dont expect it. He did however honor it this time because I pulled up the website and showed our waiter. We love their chips & salsa - so addicting, lol! We really enjoy their birria tacos, salsa Verde cheese enchiliads, Mestizos nachos, fajitas, plus so much more. Im very picky about my rice & beans - their rice is delicious, but the refried beans are horrible! No flavor whatsoever, & the texture is like baby food. The charro beans are my go-to. The peach margaritas are good, & my husband likes the Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink - fireball & rumchata with horchata. Service is hit or miss. Kid-friendliness: Good variety on kids menu.

First-time visit. Great service in a cozy setting. The food was okay. I enjoyed my combo plate, especially the chicken fajita nachos and crispy beef taco. My husband wasnt as impressed with his plate; the fajita beef was chewy, not tender, and he said his chicken flauta just tasted like the oil it was cooked in. So we are a house divided on this one but will try it again.

Went today with my husband and mother for my birthday. My husband ordered a Dos Equis and they gave him a modelo and just walked away. And still charged us for it. Also most Mexican restaurants give free dessert on birthdays ?? Yeah I didn t get one. Or even acknowledge it was my birthday . Didn t like the vibe here. Don t know if I would come back. Also very pricey !
