Love this place and Im a repeat customer! Food today was excellent, but the service was definitely lacking. Waitress was inattentive and less than friendly. Great brunch spot! Service and food were excellent. Dined in on a Saturday morning and the place was hopping but food still came out quick. The hashbrown casserole is arguably a step above straight hash browns IMO, and the biscuits that can be had with many of the dishes were also great. Those four-egg omelettes dont skimp on the ratio between filling to egg, which makes for an immense omelet to start your day.

I visited The Toasted Yolk Cafe for the first time ever today. The tables are uncomfortably close together. My waitress was nice, but I ordered The Toasted Yolk Coffee. I informed her that I have a tree nut allergy, and I requested to sub the Frangelico for Jameson Irish Whiskey. It took a long time for my drink to come to the table. My waitress came back stating that they were out of Kahlúa, so she put in an order for the Irish Coffee instead. I told her to hold the drink because its not what I asked for, and she pushed for me to try it. I refused. I dont want to spend $11 on a drink that I didnt order! The service took forever, so I had to stop my waitress while she was walking around and ask to put in my food order. I ordered The Golden Gate Omelette with a side pancake. I sat for about 30 minutes while everyones food came out around me. My waitress finally checked on my table, and she said, Your food still hasnt come out yet? Let me check on that. She came back and apologized that the kitchen lost the ticket, so I had to wait longer. When my omelette arrived, it smelled like the animal shelter. I thought, Maybe its the mix of ingredients that throw the smell off, so I tasted it, and it was absolutely disgusting! My pancake, too, was cold and powdery, and the fruit couldve been fresher. I ended up ordering the shrimp and grits in place of the omelette, and the grits were mushy, the dish was too spicy, and the shrimp tasted odd as well. Needless to say, I didnt eat this morning after wasting 2 hours at this restaurant. At the end, I was charged $7.56 for the pancake and a side of hash browns (the hash browns came with the meal, so they shouldnt have been an additional charge). I will not be returning.

I never really post negative reviews, but I definitely felt like this was worth posting. I ordered three pancakes for delivery along with other food items. I normally like warming up my food on the stove so it tastes a bit fresh. I grabbed one of the pancakes and as soon as I grabbed it to place it on the stove it completely fell apart. So I grabbed the other two and it was the same thing. I couldn t even flip the pancake over with the spatula without it not falling apart. My husband and I continued to warm them up and when we tasted the food we automatically knew the pancakes were raw. Horrible pancakes. Please do better. We loved going to there but after this I doubt we will go back.

Visited TYC after a bad experience at another restaurant. Your staff was incredible! Selena is truly a treasure and talked us into trying the fried banana peppers. They were amazing. Service and food is always on point. Love that they come up with new seasonal items. Ive yet to have the same thing twice - other than the donuts - they are a must! They use a pre-register for getting in the queue for busy weekend days and thats a great feature! Vegetarian options: Salads and soups as well as sandwiches that are light and meat free. We love the toasted yolk! I live in East county so I ve tried a few locations before but the Conroe location has been hands down our favorite spot! Great atmosphere, wonderful service we received with a girl named Morgan! I am a server/bartender myself and know when we re dealing with a server who loves what they do vs hating their job.. and Morgan provided that extra TLC for us to make a great start to our day! Very friendly & personable; didn t make us feel rushed as some fast paced breakfast places do; and knowledgeable of her menu to make us some great suggestions! Food was hot, fresh and delicious! Props to the kitchen as well! This place seems to have a smooth management team with happy employees working together. We will definitely be back! My family and I tried this location for the very first time last week on a Tuesday and Morgan was our waitress, the food was truly amazing, Morgan is a great waitress and made the experience very personable. We never needed to ask for a refill, she suggested items such as the Shrimp & grits, and the Jackie s Morning Rita which was only $5 every Tuesday. Food was hot.. Drinks tasted fresh. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area. Kid-friendliness: Our waitress Morgan did an outstanding job With making our three young children feel seen and heard and also included them and letting them decide what they would like to try. So that was very nice not too many waitresses do that nowadays.

Food was mediocre. Terrible service from the floor manager on down. Service was bad (no refills, checking on food, the only thing he was speedy with was dropping the check). The other two servers in our area were on their phone and standing at the hostess stand just talking. The restrooms were closed and that part of the restaurant smelled like sewage. They had a cleaning crew working on it during business hours. They would walk from the sewage smelling bathrooms into the kitchen and back to the restrooms multiple times. Manager looked sloppy- she took no pride in her appearance and never checked on a single table. As we were leaving, the manager, hostess, and one of the waitresses were standing at the hostess stand and not one said a word... No Thank you for coming in or have a good day just silence. So, if you are okay with terrible customer service and mediocre food, youll pay roughly $15- $20/ seat. You are better off going to Canes in the same shopping center.

My husband and I it was a our very first time here and my boss recommended to me bc she goes there after work. I never had a mimosa before I had 2 they were phenomenal. Enjoyed very thoroughly . The food is good, except I found a hair on my fried chicken sandwich. I told the waitress and she apologized and took it back. Then they brought me a new one, it was good until the waitress brought me the check while I was still eating. She also charged me an extra fried chicken sandwich (the one with the hair on it) and I had to wait 15 minutes until she finally came back and had her correct it.

Server need to learn that coffee drinkers, should be provided/offered top-off or refill. I had to ask more than once. Get the order right, especially when shes writing it down. Food

Used to be great! Now, they are single handedly the most expensive place to get Waffles and Eggs in all of Houston. Black Bear, First Watch, Another Broken Egg are all more affordable with similar or better food. It s priced close to Snooze but isn t on the same level as them. I ordered French Toast and Grits . Yes JUST French Toast and Grits and my order was $18! The increased their prices this past year sometime and I will not be going back. You have to be crazy to pay $18 for bread and grits.

The French toast was delicious! The coffee was so smooth, rich and flavorful, I would go back just for the coffee. I was bummed at first, because they only had half-and-half / milk, and I am lactose intolerant, so I drank it black. But honestly it might have been the best cup of coffee I have had in years!

Friendly place. Our first time eating here. Manager, Lisa was awesome. Worked very hard at cleaning tables, seat customers, delivering food and still having time to converse with customers. I really admired her. This was the Conroe, Tx restaurant.

Food was ordered for pickup. The order was totally wrong. I requested grits with the Brisket Scramble and I was given hash brown casserole. I also requested the queso on the side and that wasn t done. The brisket was very tough and I ended up throwing the food away. There were a couple of other issues with the order as well, and it would make me not want to ever place a take out order here again.

If you leave hungry, its your fault! The food is very good. The portions are more than generous, and the staff amazing. Our sever, Andrea, was sweet, efficient, and attentive. The general manager also stopped by the table to make sure we were pleased. A very pleasant dining experience. Parking: The Conroe location has many other businesses nearby which make parking somewhat difficult depending on time of day.
