1st time in for late lunch. The service was great, margarita great, & angus brisket taco great for Tex-Mex. Hence 3 stars. Everything else was okay (spicy chicken tikka taco, plain kids steak taco, brisket nachos) or not so good (queso- birria taco) & very pricey. We expressed we didn t like the quesabirra tacos (stale tortilla, very little meat, very dry, difficult to chew) so they replaced with a steak quesadilla for my son, which was much appreciated. With many options in the area I won t likely return.

The only complaint i have about velvet taco is that they put so much yummy goodness in every taco that the surplus always falls out the back when i take a bite. I would say thats is a compliment vs a complaint in the long run. Their nachos pile on enough delicious toppings for every chip to get some ingredients, and their queso is delicious. 10/10 we keep coming back for more.

I eat here because its open late, but theres always something wrong with my order. The corn tortillas are ALWAYS Hard and cold, and break when you bite. My flour tortilla was cold, too. The shrimp was a bit under cooked and gooey.

We have eaten here many times and have always loved it. My husband loves the smash burger tacos. So last night we ordered delivery for our family and everyone s food was great except for his tacos that had raw meat and he couldn t eat them. This was disgusting and I don t think we will be back .

Ok, so this is a long review, but its worth the read. You know how most ppl who quit/get fired start telling you all the nasty stuff about a restaurant and make you never want to eat there again? Well, this review is the opposite. I briefly worked at the college station location. I can tell you a few things about it, and this is coming from someone who was fired. 1. The management is awesome, and very supportive of their staff. 2. They keep a VERY clean kitchen. Like, EVERYTHING is scrubbed down daily, even the walls around the cooking areas and the vents above the grill and fryers. All food is stored properly, machines cleaned regularly/nightly, and everything is clean as can be. 3. They have a dedicated fryer for their chips, making them safe for guests w celiac. This does not apply to all locations I believe. 4. They take allergy training VERY seriously to ensure the safety of guests. As someone w celiac, I really, really appreciate this. 5. The food is AMAZING. I miss getting my free shift meals, because the tacos are just that good. And they have a great variety. 6. Pretty much everything is made fresh on site. The corn and flour tortillas are not, but everything else is. They roast fresh corn daily for their elote, cook all meats fresh, chop all fruits and veggies fresh daily. Any specialty tortillas such as waffle tortillas are made to order, not sitting around all day getting stale. 7. While its not always 100% possible to sanitize tables between every guest when its busy, tables and counters are sanitized a ton! They are constantly having employees clean the tables to make sure the lobby stays up to their high standards. Management is so good that they even felt bad about firing me, even though I wasnt able to keep up w the super fast-paced work environment well due to some medical limitations of mine. The food is definitely worth the price, and you will be treated well when youre a guest there. Lastly, I highly recommend trying the brisket nachos!

Great food. Theres somewhat of a limited menu for someone with food restrictions. Parking at this particular location is horrific. I was just picking up to go, but still had to park illegally. Everything was a-la cart also. No real meal to order. Just good tacos. Great for a quick bite, but not dinner.

I took my grandmother to eat here for the first time, and we were not greeted. There was no one in line at the counter, and all the employees including the manager saw us standing there waiting. I asked for a manger and the person who saw us standing there that did not acknowledge us said he was the manager and that he was busy. I let him know it was unprofessional to have customers standing at the register waiting a while to order with no acknowledgment. He was also helping with food with no gloves on. After, he asked an employee who was on his phone to take our order which he should have done in the first place.

The luster and fancy of this place has gone down . From the management to the taste of food has gone down a lot. Got the wrong food items. Chips and queso are absolutely amazing. Im a huge fan of the chicken and waffle taco. Also the mexi cali shrimp taco is delicious! My husband loves the Cuban pig taco. They always have awesome music playing and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.Also, Dawson is such a sweet and helpful employee. Always has a good recommendation. 10 out of 10 stars!

I was absolutely surprised by how good this place was! Didnt even know it was a corporate store and after eating didnt care. I had a vegetarian, a steak and a seafood taco and all three were absolutely delicious. Staff was prompt and courteous and the only reason it doesnt get five stars its because the price for taco felt a little high when compared to other Taco locations of the same quality. Will definitely be going back!

A bizarre place that I must try again - Its like it is trying to be a high end taco restaurant with great ingredients and presentation but it is tacos at the end of the day. It is confusing in an interesting way. I wonder if they know that a velvet taco is slang for female sex organ? Did they know this? I kept saying the name as I asked my dumb questions looking for a reaction. It is a mystery we must explore! Also funny if it is true. This is why I went into this place I figured it would have tons of hot chicks servicing me or serve me, but that wasnt the case. While this was my go-to spot for fusion tacos, my most recent experience with the in-person order and take out was not up to par. The cashier (Spence) left my order in the online order spot without notifying me (they usually call out your name), and even walked past me a few times until I found out where it was. To be brutally honest, this review is for the velvet taco in college station. The workers here are super friendly and helpful the place itself is beautiful and cool. I loved the place which is why the food was that much more upsetting. It looked really good on the menu and when it came out but It was just not that good I didnt even finish most of it. The way I would describe it is the standard college girl would love this place. But unfortunately it just isnt for everyone. My friend joked its the white girl go to place so I should like it. Food is excellent. Some improvements can be made with the meat put on the tacos. Cheapest tacos are $5.00 and up. Its nice to get an adult beverage with your meal. Seating is limited. This is a college town, so its busy. Overall we were satisfied with the meal. Brisket Mac and Cheese was delicious. Brisket Nachos were awesome as well. Parking is a big of a nightmare but theres lots of stores to visit in this walkable area.

Good taco spot in the Century Square area. It s about what you would expect from the area - high quality food at the price you would expect. Not a place to go if you re having late night taco cravings, but it s the spot for some unique taco combinations and if you want to try something new. Ive eaten here three times in the past week on my trip to college station. I had only eaten here once at an Austin location. The food is really good and a halfway decent value. I dont like the V trays that they serve the tacos on because juice runs off the ends of them and its inconvenient to eat from them. This location has a special Aggie menu that is fantastic. The brisket mac and cheese is a must! I love their tots with cheese and egg. Ive only had one taco here and it was pretty tasty, if not a bit overpriced. Very friendly staff and tasty food. Really cant go wrong.

I deliver for Uber Eats and I had a pick up order from this location. First off, Ive driven by Velvet Taco many many times and never stopped. The name sounds seductive ANYWAYS! I rung the bell at the window and was met by a very polite manager name Mario. He was already handling an issue with my customers order and invited me to come in while he fixed the issue. He offered me a drink with a smile (thats a plus for me!) The waitress, Penelope, was busy cleaning which, by the way, was on point (I love a clean business). Because it was late, it wasnt crammed, but Im fine with that being an introvert and all. The issue with my customers order was handled quickly and I was out of there in no time. Marios smiling face and Penelopes service makes me want to come back and try the food. Good vibes! P. S. I only took this photo because I didnt want to make the other people there uncomfortable.

We held a Texas A&M accounting social event at Velvet Taco and went great! Service was great, food was ready timely, and the A&M students had a great experience. The restaurant allowed us to spread out at several outdoor patio tables. Good food and good service by the Velvet Taco staff. I would have another recruiting social at Velvet Taco! Parking: No issues parking. I parked in the parking garage and walked to Velvet Taco.

An odd configuration makes plenty of space seem crowded and elbowy, with a needlessly dim interior and a menu thats somehow both straightforward and yet a bit arcane for first timers. That said, I found the food lovely for novelty fare, and while the emphasis is clearly on the what if we made a bunch of familiar non-taco dishes, but then put them on tacos anyway! gimmick, the results delivered by the capable and quite visible kitchen/counter staff tend to be pretty darn yummy.

My first time here and all the tacos were fresh! Did i memtion made to perfection!? Not only was this a service friendly place the food was next to none. I got the Tikki tacos and the sauce was very good! The hangover was the best taco on the menu out of the 6 I tried! I wont take up all your time with my cult like ranting about how you should eat here, because there is a taco for everyone!
