While the food was delicious, our dining experience at Iza Robata was unfortunately lacking. Chairs and tables were dirty. The service was not up to the friendly standards we typically expect in Texas. We felt somewhat ignored, especially after our appetizers were served. To our surprise, when we went to pay, the tip was automatically set to 18%. The staff informed us that this was the restaurants policy, which we found to be unexpected and disappointing.

Service was great. Our waitress was nice and polite. We got two dishes, the Tonkotsu ramen and the 10 skewers deal. The ramen was delicious, great tasting and the egg was cooked well. The issue we had was with the skewers. The skewers were tough like they were overcooked and the seasoning was odd. We chose spicy thinking that they would be cooked with a sauce or seasoned while cooking but they tasted like they were cooked and then sprinkled with seasoning you would normally add before you cook your protein. It was very disappointing. The skewers were 30 dollars and were tough to eat. I dont think we will be returning, I did like the ramen but I can get it elsewhere.

I recently visited this Japanese restaurant and tried their Spicy Duck Ramen and Shrimp Fried Rice. The fried rice was especially delicious well-seasoned, with generous portions of shrimp, and perfectly cooked rice. The ramen had a nice spicy kick and the broth was rich and flavorful. Best spot in town to get Ramen! We have tried ramen from all over town and this place certainly is a place to come eat as a student. Portion size is surprisingly bigger than most ramen places in town and very filling. Customer service is great, place is nice and clean. We also seem to always be greatly taken care of by our waiter Hailey. Recommend getting their fried pork gyoza appetizer. Definitely recommended!

We ordered a round of various Ramen bowls and they were all good! They had a really good ratio of noodles/broth/other goodies. Everyone at the table was happy with their order. The vegetable ramen (with tofu) has a LOT of mushrooms. This is great for mushroom lovers. For non mushroom-lovers who usually just pick them out its definitely too many to just pick out! :) The kid sized Ramen is adorable and still a pretty big portion size! There was ONE warning/heads-up.... if you order a soda with your meal, they serve it in a glass like most restaurants. Every other restaurant who serves sodas that way give you free refills (right!?), so when a waiter walks around and says would you like another coke you just assume it is a free refill (like everywhere else). But then you get the bill and get charged for 2 sodas for $2 each. Thats sly. Vegetarian options: There are definitely a few tofu options - but it is unclear if they make a vegetarian specific broth. Kid-friendliness: Really great kid selections if your kids are a bit more adventurous!

Great atmosphere, good service. Biggest complaints are they do not allow substitutions for the ramen, and the chashu that was in the ramen was definitely overcooked, and not fresh at all. Also minor complaint, wish they had soy at the table, you have to ask for it. Broth was okay in the tonkotsu. Noodles were good. Only one piece of fish cake is really disappointing.

The food is great! Ive never had anything bad here and visited multiple times. Its our go-to place in the area for ramen! The karaage is the best thing on their menu tbh However, our issue is with the service. The male servers have always been great (one with short brown hair and the other with long blonde hair especially). The two ladies are not very nice, though. They look like they are wearing pajamas and house slippers every time I see them. On two occasions, we have seen them drinking beer at the bar (literally watched them pour it from the tap)! They also werent off the clock or on their break either bc they would serve food to people and take orders, then go back to sitting and drinking at the bar. When it gets busy, they dont even help the other servers until food is already being brought to tables late. Theyve rolled their eyes at us once when asking for a refill. Idk if theyre owners or managers and think theyre untouchable, but watching them behave so unprofessionally kinda ruins the experience.

I actually found out about Iza Robata from Jake, one of the servers there, while he was a client at my workplace. Haley was our server tonight and did a wonderful job. Both of them are quite friendly, not to mention knowledgeable of the various dishes and drinks offered and the special deals they have. You can tell when people like where they work. Iza Robata s prices are quite reasonable, especially for the quantity and quality of the dishes, and the overall atmosphere was quite nice. We will definitely be returning.

Overall great atmosphere, very chill with a walk-up bar available. Tables are somewhat private with a small divider. Decor is spot on. Overall food was average. We ordered the duck spicy miso ramen and chicken fried rice. The duck was juicy and the broth for the ramen was nice and flavorful. Very well seasoned. The chicken fried rice lacks flavoring and seasoning. The fried rice is bland and chicken was dry. Desperately needs some kind of sauce or dressing to go with the rice. We ordered the garlic fried chicken wings as well. The wings were hot out of the fryer but a little dry. Service was lacking. The server was not very attentive. Took us about 10 minutes before the server acknowledged us and said, Sorry, didn t know you were sitting here. Even though she passed by our table numerous times. The appetizer came after the main entree. In addition, the server doesn t seem to care about our table or our experience at a brand new restaurant. The only dishes I would recommend here is the ramen. Service needs some work.

This is THE place to go for Ramen and Japanese cuisine in College Station. We just completed our third visit to Iza Robata, and I am thrilled to say it has been amazing every time. The restaurant is clean with fun decor and nice atmospheric music. The service has been great every time. The waiters and waitresses have always been attentive, polite, and have given great food and drink recommendations. Most importantly, the food is great. We have been missing great Ramen in college station since we moved here, so we were thrilled when we first went here and discovered it had finally come to town. The pork in all of the Ramen is seared beautifully with great texture. The broths are great and flavorful. The eggs (my favorite part and I always order extra) are perfect. Normally at a Ramen spot all of the other foods are a bit of an afterthought, not the case here. I got the Japanese curry chicken and its my favorite thing i have tried in recent memory. All of the appetizers we have tried have been great. Gyoza was good, steam soup dumplings were great, takoyaki and spring rolls were among the best Ive ever had. The sake selection is decent and yuzu saki recommended by our server paired beautifully with the spices in our food. TLDR: This place is great and I hope they thrive and stay forever.

A Delightful Surprise This restaurant surprised me on all fronts. The service was exceptional, attentive from the moment we walked in. Our server was prompt in seating us, taking drink orders, and giving us ample time to browse the menu. The food was equally impressive. The pork belly bao bun was a revelation a perfect balance of sweet and savory, with a soft, pillowy bun and crispy pork belly. We had the gyoza, which my husband rated 10/10 best gyoza he s ever had (and we eat a lot of gyoza). The steam buns were the star of the show for me, with a little chili oil it is *chefs kiss*. My husband had the Spicy Thai Seafood Ramen and I had the Spicy Chicken Ramen. Came here for the first time with my kids. Ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, 72hrs Beef Miso Ramen, Teriyaki Chicken, Steamy Bun Dumplings, Furikake French Fries, and the Takoyaki. They were all very flavorful and delicious. The Teriyaki isn t what I m used to. Theirs was basically grilled chicken with sauce drizzled on top. I m used to the meats stir fried in veggies and the sauce. Furikake fries, although very delicious, isn t the green nori/seaweed seasoning, at least, not that I could see other than sesame seeds. Both ramens were awesome. I think they overcooked the pork in my spicy ramen so it was a little tough. The brisket look stiff, but surprisingly l, very flavorful and tender. Overall, a bit pricey, but that s normal for this kind of food. The ramen didn t look like the picture in the menu, but it was still good. The staff are friendly and fast. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. Large parking lot shared with other establishments. Lots of tables to dine at plus a full bar. The overall ambiance is pretty artsy. What s nice is they have a promo on getting a $10 gift card if your bill is $50 or more. They also have a 10% discount if you post this business on social media.

I love this new Ramen restaurant!! Took a couple friends with me as well and they also loved it! I soooo wanted to like this place. It has great reviews and close to my house. We got the steam shrimp dumplings. They were the consistency of wet sticky gooey nothing with a shrimp inside. I know Im comparing them to my fave dim sum in Austin but they needed to be steamed longer to dry out a bit. We also got the Tonkoysu Ramen which was okay, not near as flavorful broth as Tanaka. Tanaka is a 10 in flavor, this is a five or 6. They also forgot to include my soft boiled egg sp they brought it from the back and so it was cold even dumped in the soup for a bit. It needs more garlic and more of that fatty pork goodness imparted into the broth. We also got chicken hibachi and the chicken was dry no buttery garlic flavor youd expect for hibachi taste a d the veggie medley seemed from a frozen bag. Hopefully they improve on their flavor and quality becuase the restaurant is nice.

Interesting concept for an izakaya. Good was good. Disappointed that the poke bowls and donburi will not be available even though it s on the online menu. My husband and I tried this place and we absolutely loved it. The reasons I m giving 4 stars is because they serve sodas in a can rather than using a fountain machine AND tables are split down the middle to accommodate two different parties and we felt kinda odd about that. I was recommended this place by a coworker, so we decided to give it a try! The restaurant is nicely decorated, I liked all the cats on the wall art. Khloei was our server, she was sweet and prompt! Id definitely recommend her to others. We got the steamed buns for our appetizer. They took a second to come out, but the wait was worth it! They came out fresh, hot, and delicious. I got the Hibachi Chicken, I wasnt a fan of the sauce that came with it, but the chicken and veggies were delicious without. My bf got the Tonkatsu Curry, he enjoyed it! We also shared the cheesecake for dessert. Ill be back to try the Bao, the pictures look tasty! All the prices here are decent, you get quite a bit of food with your entree.

The food here is top notch, and comes in hearty portions. I had the vegetable ramen and could only eat half of it. The service could have been better, but to be fair they did well with the number of people dining there. Vegetarian options: There isnt a separate vegetarian menu, but there are clearly-labeled vegetable dishes on the standard menu (look for the green leaf).

After reading all the buzz, we tried Iza Robata - College Station ramen tonight and it was wonderful! Steamed dumplings were great and we had Chicken Miso Ramen and 72 Hour Beef Ramen. KJ was our waiter and he was terrific. Great atmosphere, great food. We will be back!

I went there last night with my husband on a whim. Ive never had Ramon because I find it tricky to find a place that has gluten free noodles. I was very surprised to see the option on their menu and also very excited to try it. I got the Tonkotsu and my husband got the Spicy Miso, both were very good. All of the toppings were delicious and made the bowl very enjoyable. The servers were also very accomidating and were able to answer all of our questions. My husband and I are already excited to go again and try something new. Also side note, the gluten free noodles are very good, not slimy like normal rice noodles. Best Ramen in BCS, my wife had the spicy chicken and she loved it. The portion was so big we brought some home to our daughter and she loved it as well. I tried the Habachi Chicken and it came with a good sized portion of rice, grilled veggies, two sauces and plenty of chicken.

Edit: Third time coming here. Got the same thing I always do, chicken karaage & spicy duck ramen. Both absolutely delicious! However, today they went over the top! I called my order in, when I arrived, all of my children were asleep. I decided to call and see if they were able to bring my order out to me. Peter was kind and brought my food right out to me! Ive been here twice now! Got take out both times. I get the spicy duck ramen and an appetizer. Ive tried both the chicken karaage and steamed shrimp dumplings, theyre both fantastic! If you ve been looking for a delicious, authentic ramen shop in Bryan-College Station, this is the restaurant for you!! The broth is served at the perfect temperature and the flavor is exquisite. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen; I have had richer broths before, however sometimes it s too much, so I enjoyed the broth from this place a lot. On top of the amazing food, the service is great! Finally, finally, finally!!!! An authentic Japanese ramen shop in town!!! The ajitama was perfectly seasoned with a soft yolk. We tried the tonkatsu ramen and spicy miso ramen. Get the spicy miso broth if you like a strong savory broth. The tonkatsu broth was excellent as well.

Really good ramen place! The interior has a cozy and modern Asian-inspired vibe. They have a bar and really nice seating. The artwork uses a lot of cats, which is adorable! We got the croquette tezukuri for the first time and it was really good! I got the miso ramen, with shrimp instead of chashu, and my bf got the tonkotsu ramen. Both were delicious and definitely the best ramen I ve had in town! Totally recommend this place for people who enjoy ramen and/or Asian cuisine! Dietary restrictions: I am a pescatarian and it was really easy to replace the meat for different options! We ate here recently and overall the food was good. I had the Spicy Chicken Ramen and it was pretty good, better than average but a notch below the best places in Houston and Austin. I compare ramen in BCS with Tanaka Ramen, which I feel is overall the best in town even if it isnt as good as was pre Covid. The noodles and chicken were actually better than Tanakas, but Tanaka has a better broth. Id rate Tanaka and Iza 1a and 1b, theyre both pretty good and you wont be disappointed with either. Iza seems to have a better selection of ramen, so points for that.

No Yelp to provide a review yet. Wow was this a mixed bag. Came in last Sunday before lunch when it was still pretty empty and waited nearly 40 minutes for our appetizer and ramen to come out. Oddly the bao bun appetizer was not brought out beforehand. The pork belly was good but unnecessary onion and lettuce added in. Not the traditional bao bun with just pickled carrots and cucumber. My friend had the wrong ramen brought out to him (we were informed of the mix up after waiting nearly 40 minutes). The other waitress who had taken ours by accident came by to try to justify that beef and duck taste basically the same so we should be happy with what we got (girl, what?!) but our actual waitress did apologize by giving a $10 giftcard. The bao buns arent as good as Nam Cafe and the ramen is decent but the egg was overcooked - critical to a good ramen. Clearly since its new they are still working out their service issues. Ill try again in 6 months hoping theyve resolved their workflow issues.

I was hoping this would be my go to ramen joint in BCS since Tanaka Ramen has let me down so many times. Maybe my standards are too high. Ramen Tatsuya will always be my favorite hands down best ramen out of Houston and Austin. And with that here are my thoughts. I got the tonkatsu ramen which sadly lacked flavor. Was still good to a point, but not breathtaking. The takoyaki is what swept me. It was hot, delicious, and melted in your mouth. The wife had chicken miso ramen and sadly the chicken was really dry. It took a bit to get our drinks and food. It only seemed to happen to us. Everyone else was fed in a timely manner. Not like we ordered anything complicated or were difficult. Atmosphere is great, service is...Luke warm. Not even a thanks for coming or anything when we left and barely any apologies for the wait on food and drinks. A comp wouldve been nice. Thus my disappointment continues to where I must drive to Ramen Tatsuya to get a legit blow your mind bowl of soul cleansing ramen. I will say this, this place is a step above Tanaka so if you have to then go for it. Just lower your expectations and bring patience.

I waited an hour for a simple tonkatsu ramen, not even during rush hour (I went in at 4:00 pm), and the food didn t look like the pictures at all. I ate with some friends, who got their food late too, and all of our food was warm and didn t seem fresh off the stove.
