It s fine, but Raising Canes is better. Its cheaper than Raising Canes, but the chicken finger and fries portion are smaller. Also, I ordered extra sauce (the gravy) and Layne sauce and both didn t taste good.

Stopped by today for lunch. No one else inside. Gave a friendly HOWDY to the gentleman behind the counter and got no response. Never said can I help you or anything. We finally told him order and never got a thank you or anything. The rep of Laynes was very indifferent if not put out we were there. So the same experience with another couple of customers who came in behind us. Said thanks many times but dont think he ever said anything else back to us. Made for a bad experience. Food was meh.

Ive been back in college Station for a week now, old AG here and Ive driven past Laynes a few times and Im astounded by the lines at Canes compared to Laynes and its wild!! Line is crazy over there, for what I personally think is not as great of tasting chicken and sauce. Excited to just pig out on a box of tenders and fries smothered in that amazing sauce I am disappointed with what I received.. for $15 dollars!! I got a 3 and half piece tender box and enough fries to not even fill the corner of my box.. this, this is why the line at Canes is around the store. Yall need to step up the quality control at this location and do it fast!!! My review seems to not be the only one with this problem. Probably going to Popeyes now to fill up because Im still hungry. I love that we re getting new locations but the OG is not being treated right! Strips were very small, we got an extra one to make up for it but it seemed like they were cooked too long for their size. They were all dry and the meat of the chicken was exposed to the oil (pictured) making them even drier. Definitely not the Laynes I remember.

Terrible customer service. I came in to pick up a Door Dash order and the main cashier was sitting on the floor on his phone. As well as the other coworkers standing around aimlessly on their phones too. I did not receive a welcome, or them simply asking me for my order, instead he stared at me and waited for me to speak. Once I told him the name under my order he walked away and made me my drinks while the other worker put the meals together. After they both served me they IMMEDIATELY went back to standing and staring at their phones. No thank you, have a nice day or a single word from a soul in there. Management needs to get a hold on their employees, because I have NEVER walked into a restaurant or fast food industry and had to speak to the employees before I was spoken to!

We ordered 4 plates to go on the drive thru Took a little than expected thinking maybe there making new chicken tenders or fries. We get home and come to find out the order was right, but the chicken was old,tough The fries were old,stale. Weve been here before and was good place to eat, but this time I dont recommend or maybe dont buy an hour or two before closing unless you want stale,dry,tough food.

I have been going to Laynes from the day they opened. I am now done, I will not be returning. Todays order was not correct, left off my extra toast and extra sauce. The one toast that I did receive was hanging out of the box. Chicken fingers were subpar. And yes I was charged for the extras. Quality of food and service has been poor the last several times I have eaten there.

I decided to address this because the first time I let it go and did not hold it against lanes as a company because I know everyone has bad days but today given the circumstances, I decided to make a review to ensure that it gets to upper management. I stay family order because we are having a birthday party today and my family went in with high positive energy. and we were greeted with the most negative energy and atmosphere upon walking in. Everyone seemed like they did not want to be working today and nor did not want to be speaking to paying customers. everyone from the person I spoke to over the phone to the person that was at the cashier station at noon. Today was absolutely unprofessional and had no enthusiasm, given the fact that you deal with customers on a daily basis as your job title. It s unacceptable being that we are paying customers, and we greeted them with the upmost respect and were smiling and trying to interact with these individuals and they were one of the rudest crew I ever came across in the customer service industry. As your job title, it is your duty to ensure that you represent Layne s to the best of your ability and if you don t feel like you are up to par that day, maybe you should have a conversation with your management to let them know to ensure that you don t represent Layne s in a negative light. I will no longer be coming to this location That I ve been coming to for the last 15 years I will go see the individuals in south cs, I ve never been treated like that there! I hope this reaches upper management and even even the Owners to ensure that no other customer comes in and experiences that level of disrespect that I received today!!!

Greeted by the worker as soon as we walked in. Ordered our food and got it within 30 seconds. Food was hot and fresh. Fries were crispy and the Texas toast was nice. Chicken was flavorful and delicious. If I had one complaint is that the front of the restaurant where we sat was freezing. Shivered through most of the meal. However I would definitely come back again. Parking: One handicap and one regular spot in front of the restaurant but there was more to the side where you can park.

Edit 2: April 2024. Its official, the college station locations sold out. The original recipe is changed. The breading is different on the chicken, the fried are cooked differently and not as thick, no automatic potato salad when ordering a box. The sauce is less peppery. It used to be an Aggie staple, but now theyre officially no competition with Canes in my opinion. Dont waste your money if youre expecting the good old age laynes. Picture included of updated recipe Edit: added a photo of a recent trip where lanes had an amazing day. You can see the comparison Laynes is classic. Food is generally slow to get to you. Which they only make like 4 things so that part I really dont get. Chic fil a is a master in efficiency, but I guess its the size of the place. Or the fact that its college kids working. Food quality can be hit or miss depending on who is cooking. Like today my fries were obviously left in the oil too long. Wasted like half my fries. I wouldve waited for better fries instead of these but, oh well. If you want consistency in quality, go to canes. If you laynes on a good day its great. Ill always keep coming back to you laynes. No matter how many times you let me down, Ill always remember the good times above it all.

I m a native to Bryan, college station. I ve always loved Laynes but in the past few months they have been going down hill. They bumped there prices up which I understand, but now they don t give you Cole slaw or potato salad. The tenders are getting smaller and then I got an order and there were not that many fries ( as seen in the pic). It compared to what they used to have it wasn t that much. I asked if I could have a little more and the manager said that s a serving and would not according at all

I prefer Laynes s chicken more than Canes. Layne s sauce is incredibly better than Canes sauce . Toast was thin but more buttery, and very delicious. I used to love Laynes, but over the past year they have steadily gotten more and more disappointing. Prices used to be phenomenal and if you had 8.50 in your pocket you knew you could get a full meal. But now prices have claimed to a point I dont really feel like going any more. This was more than inflation, it was a business decision and their new strategy betrays the idea I had of them. The food is still great though, so if the new menu and prices dont bother you its still a solid fried chicken joint.

Layne s has definitely fallen from grace but that s not what I m complaining about in this review. I placed an order through DoorDash for pickup and when I arrived the lobby was locked. I got there at 6:45pm and they told me to go through the long drive thru even though I had already ordered ahead of time. I m writing this while still in the drive thru line that I have been waiting in for the past 30 minutes all while my order is sitting inside ready while the 2 employees that told me to go through the drive thru stood around in the lobby doing nothing. This place is really good, I am a college student, late night getting food, and everything was good priced and quickly prepared. I worked here on Laynes on Walton. I seen roaches behind the food prep station with old fries that have probably been there for months. The managers are unfair and they dont care if you are sick they still expected you to come in and cook chicken and I was running a fever not even a week ago Im still coughing and throwing up non stop. My girlfriend was in labor early and I left from college station to houston begging the night before if anyone can take my shift but nobody would take it and they told me that there no such things as call ins after I said I hate to call in but I will. Despite being told there re no call ins I called in as a family emergency to be at the birth of my child. The manager called me eventually asking what is the family emergency which stunned me at the fact she actually asked me what is my family emergency knowing it s illegal to ask and employer what is your family emergency an proceeded to threaten to fire me if I don t show up or have my shift covered. The manager that threatened and ask for my family emergency is named ADRIAN

Place used to a College Station staple now its a waste of money. Im too embarrassed to even bring people here. Every time I try to give them a second chance they screw it up. Absolutely horrible. We used to be Laynes fans, but the quality has gone down hill. We got three sandwiches filled with dry, old little nuggets instead of tenders. Also the pricing has gone up, and at that point why wouldn t you just go next door to Raising Cane s. I ve been to Laynes before and it was good (edible) This visit was the worst fries I ve ever been served, the chicken was rubbery. I went in to see if I could get freshly made fries, the young lady went around the corner and after her short discussion with the guy making the food she brought me a serving but was the same ugly looking fries I ve ever seen (freezer burn or refried) and was told that s what they had. So I threw the whole container away. The picture is what I was actually served I didn t touch them just looks like someone did and didn t eat them all and they served them to me.

I typically get Laynes at least once a week because of my work. Today was the first time I had a complaint and it was the worst food I have had from there. I must have gotten the bottom of the fryer of fries because most of them were only one inch long and very hard and old. My chicken was hard and old. The food is great and theyve never screwed up an order, but recently prices went up and serving sizes went down so it feels like a lot less value. I wouldnt have minded the price raise if I was still getting the old portions but unfortunately one of my favorite spots in town feels a little less special now.

Get the Grub! Its the best grilled chicken sandwich Ive had anywhere. I order it without sauce, usually. Edit: the breaded chicken isnt as good as other options, and they dont have grilled chicken anymore. Better off ordering elsewhere.
