Bad taste of paneer butter masala which was too watery with barely paneer in it. Costed 160$ for full tray added tax. Bisibelebhath was colorless and flavorless and highly priced. They even gave the hot food in plastic tub with lid instead of aluminum tray. Totally poor experience

Virundhu catered a recent event at our place. We ordered one of south indian breakfast combos. Ordering process was easy, with Virundhu responding to questions quickly and providing help with planning. Food was great, and flavors were authentic, fresh, and felt like eating home made food. Packaging was great too. I will be using their services for sure in the future.

This review is more towards the service rather than food. Their food is really good and personally vouched for it. We reached out for a catering order and finalised the menu as well. Later I was ghosted from any further updates. They didn t care to even say if they are working on the order or not, post confirming the menu. Please don t leave the customer hanging. I hope this is just a one of a case for your team and you can improvise.

Having been in Austin for 2+ years, we wish we had known about Virundhu a lot earlier. We had the lunch catered to our home on a special occasion and the food was very satisfying and tasting great. Swarna did a good job in suggesting the menu for our family function occasion and the food was very much liked by the guests and priests. I highly recommend Virundhu catering for any traditional family functions held at home especially if you are specifically looking for a TamilNadu style vegetarian lunch.

WORST DIRTY FOOD EVER. By mistake, I came into their kitchen. I have never seen something dirtier and nastier. We had to throw away all their food. We claim the food was dirty and cheap. The ingredients were bad, probably they get ingredients that were already expired. I am sure they purchase at the point of being thrown out. Then, all the spices hide the rotten flavors. I am sure they take advantage and even exploit the american people. I saw many cases of the FOOD BANK. Meaning they obtain ingredients from charities to prepare their food. This is so LAME. How can you abuse the system The few employees looked overworked. NASTY, NASTY PLACE. They should be inspected. Go to their warehouse, maybe to their house. I am sure they store food there, and I am sure it is as nasty or even nastier as their business since there is no risk of inspections. They didnt agree to return ONE PENNY. THEY ARE CHEAP, CHEATS, LIERS, and NASTY OWNERS, also EXPLOITERS. I just hope they read this and at least clean their facilities and do not get food from charities to prepare the meals. Dont do business with them.

My family does not eat out Indian food as we feel that the food we cook at home is better than Indian restaurants. That changed when we had food from Virundhu Vegetarian Food. Its super yummy and healthy and authentic. I dont feel guilty that our family is eating out when I get food from Virundhu. Kudos to Swarna and the Virundhu crew. Virundhu is the best, authentic vegetarian Indian food you can find in Austin. Swarna and her family are highly dedicated and passionate, and it shows in every item they serve on the menu. I have catered from them for office parties and home parties several times, and it s always a hit. When my parents visited me for 2 months, I bought dinner almost everyday from Virundhu. My parents were blown away by the variety, taste, freshness and quality. Oh my god! I am big fan of the biryani, bisibelebath, payasam, kesari, poriyal, idli, vada, sambar, bonda soup. The list is endless. The food that Swarna prepares is divine!! If you have not tried it, you are really missing out Vegetarian options: The menu is versatile and purely vegetarian! I have myself tried atleast 30 different dishes, and each one was amazing. Don t miss the thali and breakfast boxes. The idli are so soft and yummy. And the bestest South Indian tiffins!!

We have been ordering from Virundhu for almost 6 months now, and the quality and taste have been consistently amazing. Its remarkable how they maintain a home cooked taste in a commercial kitchen! You have to pre-order. This is not a walk-in take out place. Some of my favorites are their South Indian specialties like sambhar, avial, mor kuzhambu, masala vada and their breakfast in a box option is not to be missed. We regularly order from here and several of our meals are taken care of. I will highly recommend Virundhu.

We ordered breakfast for a large family gathering. The tiffin sambhar was indistinguishable from Amma s tiffin sambhar and she loved it. Everyone loved the lemon sevai, Kuzhi paniharam and coconut chutney. Everyone went for multiple servings. I am not a fan of sevai, but loved the lemon sevai and had multiple servings. I have been buying food from Virundhu close to 7 years. I choose to start with the quality first. Every ingredient added to the food is made from scratch, I have never fallen sick even once eating their food. The spices they add are throughly cooked in oil and are not added raw. Second the taste, every item is very flavorful n has a perfect taste. I m sure this taste only comes from someone who cooks with passion :). My most favorite dishes are - vadacurry , puffs, burrito, cold pasta, spinach pulao, paneer peas pulao, puli sadham, vathalkuzhambu n much more. I will definitely recommend virundhu for their vegetarian food. They mainly don t compromise on quality or add any additional agents like eno soda, Ajinomoto, artificial flavors, no fish/oyster sauce in Chinese items( vegetarian friendly)etc. Vegetarian options: Pure vegetarian options available

We have tried a variety of food from appetizers, main course, desserts and never been disappointed. Weve been with Virundhu for 5 years now. The care and effort that goes into preparing the food is unbelievable. There is a good variety to choose from and caters to all spice levels - They are super good about informing you of the spice levels of certain dishes to ensure a good match for everyone in the family. They have got some pretty great home cooked South Indian food. I especially loved their poori (which was as soft as ever even though I ate it after keeping it in the fridge for a few days and reheating it) and their sambar. The food would be a bit spicy (but tasty as well) though so if you are not tolerant towards spice, then maybe might not be the best option.

This is extremely good South Indian food. A bit spicier than average, in a good way. Super flavorful in general. It feels similar to the food I ate when visiting Bangalore. My teenager hates trying new things, is super picky about mixed in foods, basically a chicken nuggets and fries kid. But she tried and loved the vegetable biryani so much that now she eats anything I bring from here. I m vegan and I message on WhatsApp to find out the vegan options currently. There have been several and I feel confident having them identified (I cannot recognize many of the dishes to guess).

Food was horrible and they are not authentic at all and very firstly it s not pure Tamil Nadu flavor. Food we took was so poorly made like too unevenly prepared and too spicy., but they claim and market you to buy more as if it s the best and authentic food they got which we should never miss. To say as simple for how bad the food was., chilli powder was found all over food as raw in sambar rice and garam masala was found too much in biryani. All food was tasting like uncooked flavor giving it s raw masala ingredients feel. We faced tough time due to this kind of raw masala as uncooked and making the food not edible. I m wondering why the other reviews are exaggerating and giving inappropriate feedback due to which which we stopped by expecting a great experience. Be aware of those false 5* reviews before you dare trying this place.
