This YMCA is a great facility. The staff is helpful & and stands by the YMCA standards. Even the clients are very friendly. The pool area has plenty of room to swim with your little one, even in the lap lane pool. Not a bunch of loud whistles and no yelling strict rules that scare your little, youll know what I mean if you travel and use YMCA. The whole facility & grounds is, of course, clean & very safe. They also have a couple of amazing spots by the water where you can just sit, relax, walk, and see ducks.

Avoid their Childcare for littles! They left my infant in a wet diaper more than once, put the kid in the wrong age group that was too old for them, gave conflicting information about policies, admitted they let infants sleep in swings (which is not safe or recommended by pediatricians), no cribs or safe area for any size infant to nap, did not have a play mat out for older infants to play despite the director saying they have one so the kids just play on their dirty carpet.

The pool is not fit for purpose for adult lap swimming. With only 4 lanes, none are reserved for adults who are swimming seriously. Children wander in and out of the lanes and if there are already 2 people in a lane a 3rd is not welcome. At this facility, children get priority. Further, the pool area is very small and water slides etc are popular so the area is very crowded and noisy. Over all the pool is far too small for the vast quantity of people who attend Twin Lakes YMCA, it was not built with foresight as to the areas rapid growth. Another bigger pool is sorely needed. A most unpleasant and disappointing experience I have been to numerous YMCA pools in the country and so far this is the worst

We were misinformed, and staff showed no accountability. Despite the outdated facilities and equipment, the game room and child care were supposed to be highlights. However, my children were dismissed for being underage and not fully potty trained, even though the saleswoman assured us this wouldn t be an issue. Additionally, the kids game room is only for those 7 and younger and requires an extra fee, which wasn t disclosed. The new member experience is neglected, and the fitness area is outdated. Youre better off paying less at local full-service gyms with modern amenities and superior experiences. Moreover, the child care staff dont engage with the children, preferring to stay on their phones. The only competent staff are the lifeguards. Do not waste your time.

Coach Pleasant (funny name for such a rude man) made my 9 year old daughter cry and not be able to participate in her workout today. Absolutely ridiculous. My child is trying to better her health and stay active and this location has coaches making children cry and not want to come back. He s the male in the orange shirt at the back of the picture. This happened at 11:16am July 8th, 2024. We unfortunately came on a day while he s here. Usually the women coaches (who started our workout program with my children and I) are extremely nice and supportive. Coach Pleasant was too busy checking out the woman (potential member) he s with and hitting on her trying to act cool instead of acknowledging the feelings of a little girl that he made too self conscious to workout today. Way to go YMCA! You hired a male to squash the confidence of our delicate female youth!

The Y at Twin Lakes is a fantastic community center that offers a wide range of activities for all ages. The youth programs have knowledgeable, skilled, and well-trained professionals with a natural knack for coaching. The friendly and helpful staff is supportive, friendly, and informative when needed. It is worth mentioning that the youth programs basketball coaches are inspiring and encouraging in character which gives rise to effective and collaborative teamwork and player skill.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST PROGRAM FOR YOUR KIDS. YMCA After School Care Incident: My 5 year old daughter attended the YMCA After School Care Program at her Elementary School. We thought this would be great considering the fun activities and our work schedule. One day my daughter came home crying because a boy (who is in the 3rd grade) bullied her. That day, she dressed up as a princess because her teacher loved to do fun things with her class. During the YMCA program, the boy ripped a metal necklace off of my daughter s neck, scratched her arm, broke her tiara, and pushed her. He also took off her ring and tried to throw it away but one of the other students stopped him. To make matters worse, my daughter told her YMCA supervisors what happened and they did NOTHING. AND, they didn t witness what happened even though this was under their supervision. I reached out to Ms. Karina (The YMCA After School Program Director) to express my concerns of this matter and she said she would look further into it, i have not heard from her since. This incident happened in May. Luckily, my daughter s principal acted fast and scheduled a meeting with us to get it all figured out especially since the boy was still a student at The Elementary School. Feeling neglected by the YMCA, my partner and i went to the school ourselves to speak with the YMCA supervisors. The manager, Lauren, basically explained that she was not watching my daughter s age group and is unaware of what happened. The other supervisor (I forgot her name), was watching over my daughter s age group but she was not paying attention because she was tending to a child that was crying at the time. I asked her what she did once my daughter told her what happened and she admitted that she did nothing. Her reasoning was because it was my daughter s friend that told her what happened and that my daughter didn t tell her herself ..My daughter said because she was in tears The supervisor then further explained that the boy had mental health issues, was held back in school, and is a loner due to his medical issues and that he is 7 years old. Violation of HIPPA. Mind you, we didn t ask for that information at all. Furthermore, the supervisor was extremely rude and tried to gaslight my daughter even though there were other kids that witnessed what happened and she ignored them. (This entire conversation was recorded) YMCA Summer Program Incident: My daughter now is in the YMCA summer program. She loves the activities that they do everyday and it s perfect for my partner and I d work schedule once again. On Friday, June 14th, my daughter informed us that a manager on campus by the name of Eric, forced all the kids to say curse words. The kids kept insisting that it was a bad word and that refused to say it. Eric then pressured them again by saying say it you re not going to get in trouble. By this time, all the kids did what he asked except for my daughter. She told Eric that she felt uncomfortable and that it s a very bad word to say. Eric began to pressure her once again and said you better say it now. Just say it! You re not going to get in trouble. My daughter once again refused, but she felt that something bad would happen if she didn t do what he said so finally, she said it but she felt horrible afterwards. After, apparently one of her teachers came and told him to go away but that was all that we were told. Another worry is what would ve happened if her teacher wasn t there This is absolutely unacceptable. I don t even leave bad reviews because I don t like being that person but we never received a phone call regarding both incidents that happened. We found out from our 5 year old I would NOT recommend the YMCA for your little ones. It seems like it s staffed with a bunch of young adults that don t take their jobs seriously. for over $200 a week?! For my kid to be bullied and harassed by the people who are under their care is insanity and is extremely discomforting. I don t know how else to get the directors attention at this point.

I had a great experience today at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA. I was a member about 10 years ago after having significant surgery but once I went back to work, I gave it up. Today, at the reception desk, there was a woman by the name of Amy, she was delightful, and although I had a boatload of paperwork to do, she was very helpful and answered all my questions. She then walked me over and showed me how to sign in electronically with my new membership card, (which I was so grateful as now I will know how to do it without addl. assistance) and not worry about checking in! I then took a walk-through the facility paying special attention to the pool areas. Amy had advised me that there was Silver Sneaker Exercise Class at multiple times two days a week, but there was an extra fee attached to it. Once all my paperwork was completed I went walking down the halls to check out everything that was in progress. The pool area is very nice. Very clean with lots of options , there are lanes open in the big pool for lap swimmers. There are classes that happen in the big pool and lessons. I decided it was worth the $40 a month to take the silver sneaker therapy pool class. As It will help me develop a routine. On my way out. I saw a display of T-shirts in various colors and sizes that all had the YMCA logo. I decided it would be nice to have one so I found my size and took it back to the desk where Amy checked me out. She also helped me complete the forms necessary to take the class and made sure they had room as there are a maximum of 10 people , ensuring that you have a good experience. I m very excited to start tomorrow. I told Amy she really is an exceptional representative of the Twin Lakes YMCA as her customer service is exquisite!!! More to come

YMCA itself is beautiful has amazing programs super clean facility. However I do want to bring the childcare center to attention last night I witnessed a poor girl crying hysterically for her dad and the older Caucasian women with brown hair a little past her shoulders wouldnt even look away from her computer screen and I over heard her in a frustrated tone yell at her calm down just stop you are ok. The three YMCA staff sitting in the front also saw this and did nothing. No one would even try comforting her and it was really sad. Note to parents please put your children before your needs and also, the older woman working the front desk at childcare is not emotionally equipped to work with children. Shame on all of you working Jan 10 at 6pm at the cedar Park location.

Ive been going to this Y for about 17 years. I love everything about the place. Ive even volunteered as Soccer coach twice. I wont give it 5 stars because the fans in main gym are either broken or turned off most of the time. Its terrible in the afternoon, when the sun hits that room! Other than that, its the only ymca in the county with both indoor and outdoor pools, plus a lake, a creek, and a running trail.

The regulations concerning the indoor pool at this YMCA have left me truly baffled and call for a deep reevaluation. When it rains outside, not only are swimmers in the indoor pool screamed at by staff to exit the water, but those enjoying the indoor sauna located inside the indoor pool area are required to vacate, eventually forcing EVERYONE to leave the vicinity as if a tornado is seconds away from barreling down. This policy is ostensibly in place for lightning safety, even though the pool is entirely enclosed with no direct outdoor access other than a door. Consequently, this rule results in the pool being closed for about 20% of the year due to typical annual rainfall. I find this policy to be extremely counterintuitive and a source of frustration that urgently needs reconsideration. Its a policy that makes me question my membership, and I sincerely hope for its immediate change.

Love the option of Child watch and occasional free family fridays for a date night. I did come across several occasions where the front desk people were not equipped to answer simple questions or resolve issues, but the facilities are decent. Locker rooms are a bit outdated, swimming area has limited and crowded seating for parents during swim lessons. We have had a mix of instructors for our kids-- a hit or miss in terms of skill level and experience and professionalism. Overall, despite its areas of weakness, the YMCA serves as an important part of our family routine.

Sorry Y, i tried to be patient for 5 months but you disappointed me. Not coming back. Swimming- No communications, emails never go out after you register. Swim lessons by instructors are ok but they do not communicate at all with the parent on where kids are at and if they need to stay in the same level or move up etc. I tried 3 sessions for 2 boys and same story. DO NOT send emails to their Leadership for refunds etc, they never respond in time. We missed half the classes and lost the $$$ due to lack of communication from the Swim Director. Like their outdoor pool area for kids. That is a positive Soccer- Summer camp/ league- Lack of communciation, due to heat they first cancelled 3 sessions and now they have moved to AM which is better but maybe you should consider other timings or indoor sessions maybe? I went to the office of their sportsDirector to get this resolved. Basketball- The far and few times my kids want to go play, there is a camp and the coach say Go away from here this is for camp kids only, so rude! Why would you not leave one court open for regular kiddos and adults to play? I get that these are volunteers, but please dont forget camps or not, kids should not be discouraged from playing! My kids were very disappointed. This is our last month as our family did not benefit at all from this membership.

Dear YMCA Leadership: I am writing to express my profound disappointment that the 2023 Spring Rookie Plus Soccer tournaments (1st/2nd Coed and 3rd/4th Coed) at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA were canceled rather than rescheduled. The kids are absolutely devastated. Sure the weather was uncooperative and the fields are being overhauled, but dont take the easy way out! Is this what the YMCA stands for? That commitments are broken when its inconvenient? Is this the lesson we wish to teach to our children? I expect better from the Y... But its not too late! Figure something out! Be creative! If those particular fields are unavailable, find other fields. How about other Y locations? How about other soccer programs like Lonestar or Town & Country? How about public schools? Soccer Dad

Im a member of this location since 2021. The main reason I became a member is because of sauna and hot tub. Over the last 2 years it happened couple of times when they had issues with those and did not even notify their customers. It was very unpleasant to show up and realise that hot tub or sauna are not working and it takes several weeks to fix it. So the credit for this review goes to the manager of that location

Clean facility, the staff members are very inviting and welcoming. The facility is modern and spacious. I choose to only go in the morning anymore because even though the gym is large it seems to be swamped any other time of the day.

Had a department meeting here recently and the facility was great. The weather was wicked rainy and the large fireplace made for a super cozy way to enjoy colleagues. Plenty of room for a catered breakfast and the big stocked coffee bar was a big plus.

First movie in the park at the YMCA. It was a beautiful night to watch Chasing the Giants with my boys. It was a great Christian inspirational movie that I hope they will never forget. Thank you YMCA and those of you who gave up your Saturday night for the community.

DO NOT sign up for swim lessons here. The front desk staff will confidently give you incorrect information about things as basic as class times and course policies, and any contradictory information can only be cleared up by the aquatics director, Bryan Everett, who does not respond to calls or email and is never on site. My kids class had two different time slots listed, and I just had to guess which one was correct. The class itself was lousy. My kid took level 2, which is supposed to introduce them to the basics of strokes and moving through the water, and the instructor literally pulled him back and forth through the water for the first four classes. He didnt even get his hair wet over the course of the week. The second week had to be rescheduled due to pool maintenance, and again, all information on that had to come from the director just whenever he felt like it. When we finally did hear about rescheduling, it was at a time we couldnt make with no option for a different schedule or refund.

Lice in the pool and rude employees. And you need 2 week notice to cancel membership (in all companies it takes couple minutes). Do not recommend though the pool itself was good.

Im disappointed that there is no way I can register a online program. For example, I like to register a swim lesson for my toddler, but I had to register in person. Its time to be digital!

Mildly disappointing. Signed up a couple months ago so I could join a water class as sort of rehab. Then the pools closed for repairs - it happens, no biggie. But I realized I m paying for something I don t use so I called to cancel. Was told I would get an email, never did, so I went in-person. Might be nice to have anything to do with people s credit cards not handled by kids. She was polite, I just have limited confidence I won t see rebilling. If you have kids this place is great.

Its a pretty location and is near brushy creek trail which is a nice hiking and biking trail. The gym looks awesome and they have childcare. I took my son to the outdoor pool. The only downside is that they are too crowded all the time and the last time I took my son there the outdoor pool was closed for cleaning. Seems odd for a weekend to clean the pool but I think they are always busy with camps and kids swimming.

Sent my son for soccer coaching. They were responsive until payment. No coaches available, me and another parent sent email volunteering to be coaches but they dont respond to it.. field not maintained well or staff during kids practice time does not even provide soccer balls which are properly inflated. I just feel I spend too much for a single t shirt.

If you are looking for a regular gym with a pool to swim laps, I would not recommend this facility. The membership fees are fairly high compared to other gyms, but the amenities do not reflect that. The machines and free weights are limited, and the place is overrun by children. You have to carefully plan when you go otherwise it feels like you are at an elementary school/daycare. I switched to this gym because its close and they have a pool. However, the pool NEVER has free lanes as it is always being used by some type of class or lesson. After inquiring about this I was told that there are always free lanes at 5am... Really? Thats ridiculous. The classes that they schedule do not take into consideration members who want to use the facilities they pay to use. The monthly membership should be $20/month.

Overall this is a high quality establishment with good machines, pools, gymnastics, basketball, cardio theater, spinning and group classes. It has excellent child care and programs for the kids. I would like to see some additional equipment such as weight sleds, tires and more CrossFit type equipment but the selection is good and there is enough equipment for all but the heaviest usage times. Not that they dont stay open late and hours on the weekend are short.

In general, We like this facility and most staff members are really well intentioned , but there are few things that would be nice to see differently. Per example, inconsistent enforcement of rules and lack of training. It happened to someone I know that every time this person goes to the pool, if he/she and others violate rules (by accident or not being aware of them), is always the one targeted and pointed out. This person is a person of color/ minority, and feels is being targeted. There are things like privacy too, that staff should be more cautions to discuss in front of other members, specifically related to health and emotional well being of members. I also agree with a review left here about Fox News only. Nothing against it, but I have the feeling that channels should satisfied the taste of the Y members! There are enough TV s to have a variety of channels on. Members come from different backgrounds and tastes, and that shouldn t be ignored. Also, would be wonderful if they demonstrate member s opinions/feedback are valued by having different venues to collect ideas and following up upon.

We really enjoy the facility but on two different occasions I ve asked if they could lower one of the basketball goals so that my 7 year old could practice, both times was like pulling teeth to do so and both times I was told no after having asked 4 different people. All I got was the run around and I d have to say i walked out furious! It s just lowering one basketball goal out of the 6 when no one was even inside playing and not one staff member would help! Worthless, clueless staff! It takes literally 2 minutes or less to lower one!
